Chapter 4: Yaks on the Docks

I woke up the next morning, and now it's Monday and I have to go to School. I rub my eyes and yawn then I look to my left where Sunset Shimmer is lying. She blinked her eyes then stretched one arm over to me.

“Morning, John.” She smiles at me.

“Morning, Sunset.” I smile back and I hold her hand.

I had let her stay the night because she and Cream had bonded so well when I was fighting yaks with my relative. Sunset was also happy to stay the night, because she always stayed alone, so it was nice that she had someone to stay with now, plus, my house was much cooler.

“We should get changed and get ready to go to school.” Sunset got up and stretched.

“Can I watch you?” I asked. I like to look at her. She was such a beautiful girl.

“Sure. I don’t see why not.” She shrugged.

As I watch Sunset change into her regular clothes, I realize she is even prettier than I thought because her body was so amazingly shaped.

“You want to have a shower together?” I asked, trying out my A+ luck, but today it must be lower, because she said there was no time.

After I watched her, I also changed. Then we had a quick breakfast of Coco Pops that I used my magic to make. I go to check on Cream before we leave and she is still sleeping with a smile on her face.

“Aww...” I said, then closed the door gently. She looked so adorable, curled up in bed like that.

Today is the first day of the week, and I am feeling good about myself. Some people hate Mondays, but I like them because it means I get to see my friends at school, even if I didn’t like going to school to learn. I already know everything, so what was the point?

I leave my house, with Cream still sleeping, and go next door to Canterlot High. I am always early, because I like to watch people arrive, but I’m not a stalker; I just like watching them.

I sit down on the steps of CHS and take out my phone to play phone games on it. My favorite is Candy Crush and I am so good at it that I beat all the levels, but I still like to play it. You could say I’m a master at it, which is another reason I was chosen to defend the world from evil, anyway. Sunset sat down beside me to watch and I let her try for a bit, but since it's her first time playing, she’s not so good at it yet.

Soon, the school bell rings and we all go back into the school for class to begin. Since it’s Monday, a lot of people are kind of sleepy. Unless they’re not.

Sunset was in most of my classes so before we made our way to our seats, I gave her one more kiss because she was an amazing kisser, and I enjoyed the touch of her lips on mine.

Anyway, I sat there listening to the teacher talk about teacher stuff. I don’t study all that often but I do so well on all my subjects. I think it’s because of all my training with my mentors that I learn things quickly and don’t need to practice as much as other people, but I like that, because it means I get to spend more time playing my Samtendo Snitch instead of studying; studying is just really boring.

My teacher, Mr Cranky Doodle, is a very grumpy man. He's always talking about a woman in his life that he met, but then lost. He’s my English teacher, and he’s always assigning us boring assignments that I always end up scoring full marks on anyway.

The rest of the morning goes by smoothly without any sign of yaks invading from the portal or any more of Sauron’s minions. I still wonder what Sauron was doing with the yaks and how he even managed to come back.

I watched the One Ring fall into the fires of Mt Doom. I saw to it myself when Frodo was in trouble. Sauron shouldn’t have been able to come back, but somehow, he has, and that’s left me puzzled as to how and why.

Was there something darker behind this whole yak invasion? Perhaps I should’ve asked that yak at the stadium what they were teaming up with Sauron for.

“John,” Mr Cranky Doodle called. “Pay attention, please.”

“Sorry. I will, Mr Doodle.”

But in truth, I wasn’t going to start paying attention now. I already knew everything there was to learn. Sometimes it made me wonder why I’m even still going to school. By age seven, I already had enough education to surpass even Albert Einstein, and my education wasn’t only in science, but in everything, including alchemy and culinary arts.

Instead, I let my mind wander on different speculations on what Sauron and the yaks might want. I could come up with many different deductions, but with no concrete evidence, I couldn’t say anything for sure yet. I had to wait for the next attack. Or… perhaps I could actually bring the fight to them instead.

Yes, that was an idea. But that would have to wait till after school. After boring, old school.

As soon as the final bell for school rang, I was out of school in a flash and by flash, I meant literally like the Flash. With the lightning magic Solaire taught me, I could use it to boost my speed and run out of class just like the Flash, or probably faster than him.

I reach the portal, whipping out my phone to call my relative, Twilight. She’ll have some information for me.

The phone rang for five intervals before she picked up on the other end.

“John, good timing, I was just about to call you!” She said on the other end. “I’ve got more reports on the yaks! It seems they’ve now moved over to the Canterlot harbor and they’re trashing that place too! I’ll meet you there in five.”

“Make it two.” I smirk.

With my lightning powers and my innate running speed, I hightail it to the harbor, arriving there in just one minute and twenty seconds. I know, I’m really fast.

While I waited for my relative, I decided to recon the area first. Using the skills I learnt from Nathan Drake, I climbed up to the top of one of the storage warehouses and materialized a pair of binoculars to spy on the area with.

At first, there didn’t seem to be anything out of place, but then I realized a few dark shapes under the water’s surface and I zoom in on that spot. From under the water’s surface emerged a trio of yaks, each of them with their own snorkels and goggles, now climbing up onto the docks. The third one, the one at the back, hauled up a sack of sorts behind itself, dragging it along the cement floor to the warehouse next to mine.

“Just what could you be planning here?” I say to myself.

Just then, three nazgul spawned near the warehouse, walking slowly towards the yaks. The yak with the pack threw it forward, opening it and revealing its contents to the nazgul. I couldn’t see what was inside from this angle, but I had a way of finding out, once Twilight got here.

Suddenly, more yaks erupted from the various warehouses around the harbor, breaking through the shutters and doors and began kicking at the walls and crates with their hooves. One even knocked a barrel of oil over and cast a fireball at it, the ensuing explosion setting half a warehouse ablaze.

“Twilight, where are you…” I look at my Spongebob Squarepants watch. She’s taking too long.

Then I heard a shriek below, followed by a crash. Unfortunately the yaks heard it too. I looked over the side and saw Twilight had crashed her bike into an arrangement of oil drums, with one now pinning her down.

“Guess it’s time to save the day now.”

Readying my lightning magic, I threw one before I even landed, vaporizing a yak on the spot as they arrived around the corner to see what had created the noise.

“It’s him!” One of them shouted, but then he too disintegrated from my lightning.

Using the force, I threw the oil drum off Twilight, then I helped her up. “You have to be more careful, Twi.”

“Thanks, John.” Twilight rubbed at her chest, then unslung her sniper rifle off her shoulder and loaded it. “I still need to work on my riding. Not everyone’s as skilled as you.”

“I suppose not.”

“Come on. Let’s take them out. I’ll go high. You go low.”

“Right.” I nod, then I left the alley we were in, pulling out my lightsaber.

Back when I was training with Luke, he had given me the name, Joe-Hnh, so that the aliens could understand my name, because John Wayne Cousins was too long of a name in my language. He had taught me everything he knew about the Jedi and the Force and he had mentioned I had such power, power he had never seen before. He was a little afraid of teaching me after that, but after convincing him to continue, he did, and I eventually rose to the rank of Jedi Master.

“Congratulations, Master Joe,” Luke had told me that day. “You have exceeded all my expectations and may the Force be with you in all your future endeavors, be it here or elsewhere…”

Wanting to do my master proud, I used my lightning to speed out towards the yaks, and I caught them by surprise as they rounded the corner, swinging my lightsaber at them so fast they didn’t even have time to say anything.  The few yaks that had approached us were now in pieces on the floor and then I saw the three nazguls approaching me, followed by another small herd of ugly brown yaks.

“It’s John Wayne Cousins!” Another wizard yak shouted. “We must kill him for King Henry!”

“Henry…” I laugh. I will never get over that name as the king of these ugly brown yaks.

As the yaks charge, I dance between them, skillfully avoiding their horns and hooves, then cut up at them, severing their body parts and killing them with ease. From above, Twilight helps me to snipe at a few of them, taking them out with mostly headshots, though she did miss a few and almost hit me with one.

The first of the nazgul phased toward me, wielding a fairly large hammer. I swung at it with my lightsaber, cutting through it in a flash of light, but then it reappeared behind me and tried to finish me off with a head strike. I smirk and roll back underneath its legs, then stab up, vanquishing the spectre as more yaks advance on me. Twilight got the first one between the horns, then I summoned my lightning magic. As a storm swirled above me, I called down lightning strikes, shocking and vaporizing the whole herd of yaks in that swift moment, with the remaining two nazgul avoiding my attack.

Twilight sniped at one, but her bullet went right through the nazgul and it looked up at her. In a flash, it was beside her, grabbing her around the neck and lifting her over the edge.

“John, help!” She cried out.

“Uh oh,” I said.

With my lightning magic, I speed up the side of the building to rescue her, but the other nazgul intercepts my path, swinging a broadsword at my face. I backflip away, then as my feet touch the bottom of the building, I speed up again, crashing right into the nazgul and spearing a lightning spear through its face. The nazgul shakes and explodes into a burst of sparks, then I arrive before the final nazgul and Twilight.

“Unhand my relative!” I point my lightsaber at it.

“First, you will leave the yaks alone.” The nazgul said.

“What are you planning?” I ask. “What’s going on? Why do you want to help them?”

“So many questions.” The nazgul replied. “Your world has something the yak king and Lord Sauron want. “Now surrender and I will give you back your relative.”

“Don’t do it, John!” Twilight shouted and kicked at the nazgul, but nothing happened. “Don’t let them win!”

“I never intended to.” I said.

I ran at the nazgul in a flash of lightning, at the same time it decided to drop Twilight. As I reach it, I cut up with my lightsaber and vanquish the nazgul, then with Solaire’s magic, I race down the building and catch Twilight before she can even fall halfway. Yeah, I was really fast and really good at what I do, right?

“Thanks, John. You’re amazing.” Twilight said as I put her down on the ground.

“Yeah.” I look at the thrashed docks. “But what do the yaks want? What can they be after in our world?”

“I don’t know, John. But we will find out eventually.”

“Yes, we will find out.”

With nothing left to do for the day, I decided to go home and play on my Samtendo Snitch with Sunset and Cream.
