// Story: The worst bucking Applebuck Season

	It was going to be a long Applebuck Season for Applejack as Big Macintosh was resting a broken leg.  At first it wasn't so bad for Applejack, that is until she was losing sleep.  Applejack finally said that she had too much work ahead of her to do alone so she turned to her friends.  The first pony she ran into was Rainbow Dash.
"Howdy there Rainbow."
"Oh hey there Applejack!"  "What's up?"
"Actually I was wonderin' if you could come by the farm cause Big Mac hurt himself again and I don't think a can buck all those apples by myself."
"Sorry Applejack but I'm busy practicing for the Wonderbolts tryouts in a week but maybe Rarity might be free, catch you later."
"Well shoot" Applejack muttered to herself, "I really thought Rainbow would be the least busy, but I guess I'm not the only pony with plans."
On her way over to Rarity's she ran into Pinkie Pie.
"Hey there Applejack!"
"Oh howdy there Pinkie Pie."
"I was just heading back to the bakery after delivering some cupcakes" ,Pinkie Pie said in a cheerful tone.  "Why are you looking so tired?"
"Because it's Applebuck Season again and Big Mac went on and broke his leg and now I need extra help around the farm, maybe you could come on by and lend a helping hoof"
"Sorry Applejack I'm really busy at the bakery right now in fact I really need to pick up the pace and get back there, bye Applejack"
"Bye" before she could say anything else Pinkie was out of earshot "darn I really need all the help I can get too."
She continued her way to Rarity's but when she got there she knew she couldn't get any help from her because when she walked in the room there was fabric everywhere and a frantic looking Rarity running around saying "so much to do" over and over again.
"Rarity I can see you are busy in all but I really need help with applebucking I already asked Pinkie and Rainbow but they were both too busy."
"Huh oh hello Applejack I'm very busy right now so please come back another time"
"Well shoot" Applejack said when she left, "now there is only Twilight and Fluttershy to ask."  Applejack could just tell that she was going to have a long time bucking apples ahead of her.
On her way to the library she noticed Spike pacing nervously.
"What's the matter Spike?"
"Huh? oh hey Applejack" then Spike realized what Applejack said, "oh I'm starting to worry why Twilight and Fluttershy haven't got back yet."
"Where'd they go Spike?"
"They went to the Everfree Forest to get a potion from Zecora, Angel isn't feeling well lately"
"Oh I just really needed to know if Twilight or Fluttershy could stop by the farm and lend a helping hoof."
"Sorry Applejack Flutershy will be taking care of Angel and Twilight has a meeting with the Princess in the morning."
"Well see ya Spike" said Applejack as she walked away, "looks like I'll be bucking alone this season."



Back on the farm 12:00 A.M.



A tired looking Applebloom glanced out the window and noticed that Applejack was still bucking apples.  Then Applebloom decided to get her some water.  She went to the well then went to go give Applejack the water.
Applejack was so tired from applebucking all day that when Applebloom walked up she didn't even notice.
"Howdy there Applejack" was all she got out before the sound made Applejack lose track of where she was bucking and ended up hitting an unsuspecting Applebloom right in the head.
"Oh my gosh" Applejack yelped in horror, "It'll be okay Applebloom I'ma gonna get you to the hospital."
"Hang in there Applebloom" was all Applejack repeated on the way to the hospital.
When she got to the hospital she yelled out frantically for Nurse Redheart who came galloping in a moment later.
"What's wrong I heard yelling" then she noticed Applebloom hanging from Applejack's back.  "What happened?" Nurse Redheart asked in a shaky voice.
"I was bucking apples and she walked right beside the tree and" Applejack took a nervous gulp "I missed the tree" said a nervous Applejack.
"Oh" was all Nurse Redheart said before they found Dr. Hooves.  Nurse Redheart explained the situation to Dr. Hooves as they got Applebloom to a hospital bed.  They ran some tests then went to tell Applejack the results of the test.
"We believe that Applebloom has a skull fracture, I cannot be certain if or not she will make it."
"So" said a shaking and sad Applejack, "I could lose my little sister"
"Unfortunately yes" said Dr. Hooves trying to maintain his composure.  Dr. Hooves cleared his throat before continuing "she is in room 12."
After a couple of minuets Applejack shook her head and walked into room 12 and was is shock when she saw her sister's head wrapped in bloody linen, a breathing mask on, and that she was unconscious.
"Oh my what have I done" said Applejack in between sobs tears rolling down her face.  Applejack just sat there and cried while looking at her sister through tears the only sound was in the room was from the patient monitor.
*Beep beep beep*
*Beep beep beep*
*Beep beep beep*
She sat there crying for what seemed like only minuets, but it must have been hours because the next thing she saw was her friends walking in looking and feeling guilty.  They just stood there for a while until Twilight RD decided to say something.
"Sorry Applejack when spike told me you came by asking for help I should've rescheduled my meeting with the princess, sorry" then Twilight stared nervously at the ground too afraid to look Applejack in the eye.  All Applejack did was hold her tight and let her know it wasn't her fault.  The next pony to say something was Pinkie Pie.
Pinkie Pie's normally happy spirit wasn't so happy right now her words were sad as she told Applejack.  "I should've just told the cakes that a friend needed my help and I wanted the day off."  Pinkie Pie was hugged by Applejack and was told the same thing as Twilight.  Rarity was stroking Applebloom's mane when she was finally done mentally preparing herself for her apology.  Applejack noticed her about to speak and went up and hugged and told her that she was way too busy at her own store to make time to help.  Twilight noted that their hug lasted longer than the others but didn't say anything.
Fluttershy spoke up hardly above a whisper "sorry Applejack it's just that Angel was sick and I just couldn't leave him alone...sorry".  "It's alright" Applejack choked up a little bit saying this, "you had to nurse up Angel".  Applejack gave her a friendly nudge on the shoulder and tried to stay composed but a couple of tears streaked down her face anyway.
Rainbow was choked up hardly able to say anything knowing that there was no good reason she couldn't miss one day of practicing to help Applejack, and now Applebloom is in the hospital.  "A-a-a-a-applejack *beep beep beep* ugh I can't think with the beeping."
Pinkie Pie said half-heartily "really Dashie because none of us had a problem with it, or even noticed it you must be really bad with emotions".
"Ugh Pinkie do you always have to *beep beep beep* ahh again I wish that machine would just stop beeping."  Just after that *beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*.  Now Rainbow Dash just broke down in tears sobbing, then what just happened hit the rest of the group and they too started to cry and sob.
Over the next couple of hours they all went home, Applejack was last to leave but not before giving Applebloom one last kiss on her forehead.  She told the Apple Family about what happened they just sat there and cried, even Big Macintosh.  That evening they got a letter from the hospital saying they were checking out Applebloom today.  The Apple Family showed up at their best Big Macintosh in a tuxedo Applejack in a dress, even Granny Smith Was wearing her best.  When they showed up at the hospital their jaws dropped when they saw a shaky but alive Applebloom being wheeled out in a wheelchair.  "But but h-h-h-h-how" an overwhelmed Applejack exclaimed!
"Simple" Dr. Hooves explained, "one of you accidently detached Applebloom from the patient monitor".  Applejack, Big Macintosh, and Granny Smith were standing there with their jaws as close to the ground they have ever been.  Applejack spread the news to her friends and they all were stunned hearing Applebloom was alive.  When she told Pinkie Pie she took off running at full gallop to gather items for a party, and Applebloom was so happy when she realized just how much everyone cared about her.  Applebloom and Applejack were just holding one another crying tears of joy.
