Adventures in the Bermikun Triangle

by Rakoon1

Eye of the Cyclone

In Marituga, Dusk and his crew were at the market buying a new part for Chaos. However, it would appear the merchant, a grizzly griffon, was not being very fair about the price.

“Are you kidding?” Dusk asked him. “That's twice as much as last time!”

“So is my rent, kid” he replied. “You can't afford it, don't buy it. Not my concern.”

“Uh, I totally get it” Dusk told calmly. “Times are tough. You got your cashflow problems, but… my big buddy here is gonna think you're trying to rip us off.”

Realizing what his brother was trying to do, Star told him:

“Let us try another shop.”

But it was too late, as the griffon hit the crate between him and the Sea Raiders with his talon and asked, angrily:

“Are you calling me a crook?”

“No, I would never!” Dusk replied, still with calm. “But that's because I'm a reasonable pony. But I don't think they were so forgiving in Mighty Helm times. Mallet…”

And so, while Dusk, Star, and Opal walked away from the merchant, Mallet approached him, snapping his hooves. That really scared the griffon that hasted to say:

“Wait! Uh… half price, okay? 50 bits.”

And with that, the Sea Raiders were able to buy the engine part and then they started heading back to the Chaos, with Opal carrying the engine part with her magic.

“My princess engineer asks, I deliver” Dusk said, as they walked. “And at a reasonable price. What do you think, Opal?”

“The Chaos will be super powerfull with this engine part” she replied.

“Ya didn't let him bilk ya, Cap'n, good job!” Calabrass complimented Dusk. “Though a true pirate would've gotten it for free! And probably stole a bunch of other stuff too!”

“Do not encourage him, Calabrass!” Star protested. “Our needs do not justify your behavior with that merchant.”

“Sorry, Star, but you don’t live in the Triangle long enough to know that, sometimes, we need to go low with some of the ones that live here” Opal told. “Even I already used Mallet to get some of the parts on my workshop.”

Before Star could reply, a stranger run up the stairs and shoved through the Sea Raiders. He was a strange muscular pony with blueish green coat using a gray suit with a hooded cloak that possessed feather-like layers that made him appear to have wings with a hoodie that had a feather-look top and googles over his pale blue eyes. He passed through them with so abruptly that he caused Opal to drop the engine part.

“Hey, watch out, you idiot!” she reclaimed, picking the engine piece with her magic again.

But suddenly, an army of skeletons shove through Opal, making her drop the engine part again.

“Ugh! Really?! Skeletons too! Terrific…”

“Do we need to justify our behavior to those guys?” Dusk asked to Star.

“Absolutely not” he replied, while opening his wings and charged his horn.

“Mallet do some exercise!” Mallet exclaimed, while taking out and preparing his sword.

“Let's break some bones!” Dusk proclaimed.

And so the Sea Raiders followed the direction to where the mysterious pony was being chased. Despite his best efforts, he was hit by one blast, causing him to fall on the ground. The skeletons cornered him and prepared to attack him. It was then that Dusk landed between them, coming from the rooftops and ready to face the skeletons.

“Good morning, stranger” he said to the mysterious pony, as Star and Mallet landed beside him. “We're the Marituga welcoming committee and pest removal service. Calabrass, give me the Eye of Blazz!”

Having said that, he and Calabrass transformed.

Seeing Dusk ready to fight, the leader of the skeleton squad exclaimed:

“For Skullivar!”

And a fight between them started, with Dusk going ahead and hitting the skeletons with a sword blow and with his armored foreleg. Meanwhile, Star and Mallet found themselves trapped in a cage of skeletons that they easily broke through. Star’s attacks were so intense that were causing too much damages than necessary and scared everypony away. After he had apparently got rid of the skeletons, he said to the citizens of Marituga:

“All the help you need is right here folks! You're welcome.”

It was then that two skeletons appeared behind Dusk.

“Watch out, Dusk!” Star warned.

He turned around and then blasted fire at the skeletons. However, his attack was so powerful that threw the skeletons against a structure that started to crumble on the mysterious pony. Seeing that, Star flapped his wings and quickly pushed him out of the way. Dusk then approached them and told the mysterious pony:

“Dude, you gotta be careful around here! Lots of dangerous, wall-smashing bonehead types everywhere.”

“You did this!” Star replied to him, in a disapproved tone.

“Probably… not!” Dusk said, turning to the mysterious pony. “Don't worry, man, the enemies of our enemies are our friends. I'm Dusk Storm.”

“Ah, help me, please” he said, weakly, while handing Star a scroll he was holding. “Here. Bones… He can't have this.”

And then he fainted, with Star then picking up the scroll, wondering why Golden Bones couldn’t have it. After that, Star turned to his younger brother and told him:

“And now us, little brother.”

“Wait, you want to talk about the merchant now?” Dusk asked.

“I want to talk about the mysterious stranger unconscious at our hooves” Star said.

“Yeah…” Dusk said. “I sort of feel responsible for him since I used this great line and now we're bros.”

“Dropping a wall on him makes you responsible!” Star admonished.

“I think you need glasses, Star” Dusk replied.

“And what about all this, Captain?” Star asked, while pointing at the damages Dusk caused by using the Eye of Blazz, with some of the civilians sticking their heads out of their hideouts.

“Um… Sorry!” Dusk told them. “I was in the heat of the action!”

And he started spinning Calabrass around, unintentionally scaring the civilians away.

“Hey, that was another good line!” Dusk replied, returning to normal and putting Calabrass on the scabbard, directing then to his crew. “Let's take him to the Chaos. Mallet?”

And so Mallet took the mysterious pony, putting him on his shoulder. Star, however, was still a little upset with his brother and how clueless he was regarding how reckless was becoming.

They returned to the Chaos, with the ship then sailing away from Marituga. At the engine room, Dusk and Calabrass were seeing Opal installing the engine part. After she activated it, it didn’t take long for the part fuse blow out.

“This doesn't work, Captain” Opal replied.

“What?!” Dusk asked. “We're going back for a refund! And by refund I mean Mallet's gonna shake him by the ankle.”

At that moment, Clover appeared right next to him, causing him to get startled.

“Clover, we already discussed this!” Dusk exclaimed. “Don’t ever do that!”

“Sorry” Clover said. “But that stranger you bought at the bazaar is awake! And ah… hold your nose.”

And so he teleported away, releasing his usual stinky smell that caused Dusk to cover his nose.

“Ugh… That ghost ain't right!”

He then went to his cabin, where the stranger was at the chair. He was awake and with Mallet giving him something to drink. Arriving to the entrance, he found Star who was observing the stranger. The young alicorn prince, who was holding the scroll the stranger had, seemed to not trusting him very much.

“Our enemy's enemy, and therefore our friend, seems to be getting better” Dusk noted.

“He is not our friend” Star told.

But Dusk ignored him, chuckling and approached the stranger, saying:

“Welcome aboard the Chaos, Mr…”

“The map!” the stranger exclaimed. “Where's the map?”

“Easy, guy” Dusk told him. “A thank you and my name is would go a long way to keep everyone cool.”

The stranger coughed and then Mallet told him, while handing him the drink:

“Drink.”

After he sipped a little of the water in the cup, the stranger told:

“Thank you. My name is Iron Feather. Now, please do you have the…”

“Your map of Aeria?” Star asked, showing him the map. “We do. Why would Bones want this so badly?”

“Fool!” Iron Feather told. “Did you look at it?”

“Fool?” Star asked, offended and approaching. “You should watch your tongue, sir, lest it fly loose from your mouth!”

Dusk was surprised to see his brother like that, having to block Star’s way so that he wouldn’t want to attack Iron Feather.

“I am from Aeria” he told. “That map is mine. That's all you need to know.”

Turning to Dusk, he said to him:

“Young colt, thank you for your help. But you should give me that and let me leave.”

“Whoa, whoa, chill” Dusk said, while Star noticed a purple symbol on the scroll. “You're not our prisoner. You're our guest. Right, Star?”

But he didn’t reply, as he walked to where the shelves were and started searching for something, while saying:

“I have seen this symbol somewhere before…”

He then pulled out a book and opened it. After a while, he exclaimed:

“Exactly as I thought! It is how the Aerians depict the Waypoint.”

Hearing that, Dusk approached his brother, asking:

“The Waypoint as in the Waypoint? Cool!”

“What's it to you?” Iron Feather asked. “No one can open the Waypoints of the Seven Seas without the legendary sword.”

“Well, feast yer eyes on a legend!” Calabrass replied, proudly.

“Can we just once keep a secret from a stranger?” Star asked him.

“What? Someone's bestowing kind words upon me for once!” Calabrass replied.

But Star just cleared his throat.

“It's okay, Star” Dusk said to his older brother, approaching then Iron Feather, while Opal entered in the room. “I'm Dusk Storm. My friends and I want to leave the Bermikun Triangle and we'd like to use your map.”

“What about Bones?” Iron Feather asked. “And Skullivar? They won't let you. They're looking for the Waypoints too. They'll track you down the same way they're tracking me!”

“Oh, don't worry” Dusk answered. “They already hate us. Team up with us, Iron Feather. Thanks to your map, we can open our first Waypoint to go home. We're already our enemies' enemies.”

“And it would be great to have someone that can fly” Clover said, appearing behind Iron Feather.

It is then that Star cleared his voice again, causing Clover to look at him.

“Oh, yeah, besides you, Star, of couse” Clover said. “But of course your wings are not as cool as his! They look like a cloak… Or is it a cloak that look like wings. Ah, who cares! It’s still awesome!”

“What an odd bunch you are” Iron Feather commented with a smile, while getting up. “But you saved my life. And if I can help you, I'll join you.”

“Welcome aboard the Chaos, Iron Feather” Dusk said.

Despite the other members of the crew were very glad to have Iron Feather joining them, Star was not and his dislike over him didn’t pass unnoticed to Dusk.

Later, at the deck, Iron Feather was having a drink with Mallet, while Dusk went to the bow to talk with Dusk.

“All right, it's sharing time. What's your deal with Iron Feather?”

“There is much about the Triangle that you still do not understand, Dusk” Star told. “Things that even Opal is overlooking, despite being here longer than us.”

“Which is exactly why I have a smart older brother like you to show me the ropes” Dusk replied, while taking the helm.

“According to the history books of the Triangle, ages ago, Aeria was a peaceful sea like Beru. But its inhabitants wanted to control the power of the sky. They attempted many unnatural experiments until they eventually caused a cataclysm. The Aerians destroyed their own civilization, Dusk!”

“Seriously?” Dusk asked. “Wow… That counts as big info.”

“That is why I do not trust Iron Feather” Star replied. “Why would Iron Feather be any different from the other power-mad Aerians?”

Dusk then looked to Iron Feathers talking with Mallet, as they headed towards the captain’s cabinet, and then told Star:

“This doesn’t sound like you, Star. Normally, you’re the type that doesn’t judge a book by its cover.”

“I know, but… there’s something about him that makes me not trust him” Star replied. “It’s… a feeling. And it’s not just me. Kurama doesn’t trust him as well.”

“Not wanting to offend your tailed beast friend, but I remember that he didn’t trust anyone… even you.”

There was a pause and then Dusk asked Star:

“Why don’t you give Iron Feather a chance to prove himself?”

Despite what he felt, Star had to admit that Dusk did have a point in what he said. But, unable to let go completely his mistrust towards Iron Feather, he told his younger brother:

“Only if you promise to keep a close eye on him.”

“I'll keep two, alright?” Dusk replied, turning then to his trusting ship. “Chaos, set a course for Aeria!”

He then pulled the level to activate the engines, but instead of moving forward, the Chaos suddenly shut down. Thinking Chaos was being snob because he didn’t ask nicely, Dusk said, while holding the helm:

“My bad! Chaos, please set a course for Aeria, my most awesome of ships!”

However, he still didn’t move. Contacting Opal through the helm, he asked her:

“Opal, did you fix the engine?”

“The engines are functioning at 100% capacity” she replied.

Clover then appear near Dusk, levitating, and told him:

“It's not yer engines, Cap, it's the Chaos! Got a shiver in its timbers or something.”

After he moved away, Star told Dusk:

“Maybe the Chaos does not trust our new passenger either.”

That caused Dusk to get some doubts. If Star and Chaos were having the same doubts about Iron Feather, then perhaps there was more into him than he appeared to be.

Suddenly, they felt the Chaos being attack by blasts. Clover went up to the mast to see what was happening and then he told:

“We have visitors!”

They looked and saw the Demoniac approaching while firing its cannons at the Chaos.

“The Demoniac!” Dusk exclaimed. “Bones found us!”

Inside the captain’s cabin, Iron Feather, having felt the disturbance outside, looked out of the windowns and saw the Demoniac approaching.

“They're here for me” he said.

“You stay here” Mallet told him, while taking out his sword. “We explode skeletons!”

And so Mallet left the room to get to the deck, unaware that Iron Feather had secretly smiled evilly.

As the Demoniac got even closer, Dusk started to beg to Chaos, as they only chance was for the ship to get away from there as fast as possible:

“Come on, Chaos. I'll steal you a shiny new anchor if you just move it!”

“Swear on me blade, he's a moody old tub!” Calabrass exclaimed.

“If this keep going, we’re going to be pulverized!” Opal exclaimed, having got out of the engine room and heading to the prow.

“Prepare to be boarded!” Star told, charging his horn with magic.

Dusk got out of the bow and headed towards the prow and jumped onto the taffrail, while calling:

“Calabrass, give me the Eye of Sino!”

And so they transformed. After that, Dusk blasted ice onto the sea, freezing the water between them and the Demoniac, what prevented it from going further. But the skeletons didn’t give up and so the Demoniac opened its bow, allowing an army of soldiers to run onto the ice.

While Dusk blasts ice at some of the skeletons, the rest started climbing onto the Chaos. Fortunately, they weren’t able to get to the deck as Star, Opal and Clover dealt with them, with the former using his magic blows, the second using her blaster and the latter knocking them with his ball-and-chain. When a skeleton appeared behind Star and prepared to attack him, he was frozen and then broken into pieces by Dusk who arrived just in time. After that, he looked directly to Chaos and told him:

“Chaos, this is not the time for you to take a stand. A float… a whatever! We need to go right now!

The skeletons continued to board the Chaos, with many now climbing onto it. Fortunately, Mallet had arrived and helped them keep them away. Meanwhile, a small group of skeletons got to the prow and cornered Opal. Despite she was ready to attack, she didn’t know if she could face them all at once. Suddenly, Iron Feather arrived and fought the skeletons for Opal, using his cloak as an advantage. Opal couldn’t have been more grateful.

It was then that the Chaos' powers were back on and he sailed away, breaking apart the remaining skeletons that were trying to climb him.

“Thank you very much” she told Iron Feather. “You saved me back there.”

Watching that scene, Dusk asked Star:

“We still judging that book?”

But Star didn’t reply, only taking out the chart and consulting it.

“The Vortex for Aeria is at twenty-five degrees North, eighty-six degrees West” he said.

“Chaos, full steam ahead!” Dusk told.

The Chaos moved forward and reached the vortex to Aeria, crossing it.

At the Demoniac, Golden Bones was watching the Sea Raiders going to Aeria, with the vortex closing behind them, through his telescope. After that, he contacted his master and told him:

“Master Skullivar, everything is going as planned!”

At Skullivar's lair, Skullivar was at his throne room talking to Golden Bones.

“For your sake, Bones, it had better” he replied.

He then turned around, where a strange creature could be seen, held hostage there. It possessed a serpentine dark grey body with four red and yellow wings, red spiky hair and a monstrous face.

At the Sea of Aeria, the Sea Raiders followed Iron Feather’s map until they reached a big cyclone.

“Congratulations, you are one of the few non-Aerians to see Aeria's one true Waypoint” Iron Feather told them, at the bow.

“You put it in the Cyclone?” Dusk asked, impressed. “Hard core.”

But the others didn’t share the same opinion, with Opal saying:

“If we go in there, we could destroy the Chaos!”

“Destroy?” Iron Feather repeated.

Clover appeared next to him, sitting on the taffrail, and told him:

“You know, it means crush, damage, smash, wreck, going kaput…”

“Opal think tornado destroy Chaos” Mallet said. “You not funny.”

As they approached the cyclone, they could hear all thundering that existed there, what was very threatening.

“Aye, not funny one bit” Calabrass agreed.

“Dusk, I do not detect a Waypoint in there” Star told his brother, using the chart.

Seeing that his shipmates were nervous about all that, Dusk asked Iron Feather:

Uh, Iron, are you sure about your map?”

“We are in the right place” Iron Feather said. “Trust me.”

It was then that the Chaos’ radar started to beep and Star’s chart started reacting. Indeed there was something in that tornado, but there was no certain that it was the Waypoint. However, they needed to take the chance.

“Places everypony” he told to his crew. “Let's open us a Waypoint!”

“We've never put the Chaos through anything like this, Dusk” Opal told him.

“I agree” Star seconded. “Without a strategy…”

“Count on me to help you navigate the cyclone” Iron Feather interrupted. “This is my home! I know its secrets.”

The way how Iron Feather interrupted him and talked with that confident tone caused Star to grunt, irritated. Dusk then went to say to his friends:

“Listen guys, we all want out of this dang Triangle, right? So then we have to open the seven Waypoints of the Seven Seas, starting with this one. I'm ready to take a few risks to do it. What about you?”

His speech really inspired his friends and so Mallet was the first to speak.

“Mallet ready.”

“After all, what could happen to me that would be any worse than being a ghost?” Clover asked.

“I’m in too” Opal replied.

Dusk looked at Star, waiting for his response. It was then that he told:

“There is a first time for everything… even finding a trustworthy Aerian, I suppose.”

Turning to the cyclone, Dusk asked Calabrass:

“Ready to open your first Waypoint?”

“Hold me handle tight, Storm, we're in for a bumpy ride!” Calabrass replied.

“Chaos, full steam ahead!” Dusk commanded.

The Chaos rumbled as he flew towards the cyclone. With Mallet’s help, Dusk was able to keep the Chaos as much steady as they could, as they went to inside the cyclone. But even so the turbulence they were feeling was immense. In the engine room, Opal was doing everything she could to keep study. The only one who was enjoying all that was Clover, who couldn’t stop screaming joyfully.

Dusk was doing everything he could to endure those strong winds from the cyclone. He power up Chaos’ engines to the fullest and repositioned his sails. With a lot of work, he was then able to get them all inside the cyclone.

But the situation there was not better. Suddenly, some winds forced Star to open his wings and he started to be blown away by them. However, Iron Feather was able to caught his hoof and bring him down once the young alicorn was able to close his wings, what really surprised Star after all the mistrust he showed him. After he get a rope nearby and tied it around his wings to prevent them from opening again inside that cyclone, he turned to Iron Feather and told him:

“Thanks you.”

Iron Feather replied with a nod.

As the Chaos was surfing through the cyclone, Dusk was able to spot something, while steering the ship.

“There it is!” he exclaimed, pointing.

And they saw the Waypoint. It was a triangular platform with an altar with a lock, suspended inside the cyclone, with the symbol of Aeria at the base.

“We're going to use the Cyclone's power to close in on the Waypoint!” he exclaimed, trying to make his voice be heard over the strong winds.”

Changing the position of the sails, the Chaos flew closer to the Waypoint, but he got blown back.

“Or… not” Dusk said. “I pictured that so differently in my head.”

“I have an idea” Star said.

He then casted a light rope from his horn that grabbed the Waypoint like a grappling hook.

“Nice shot!” Dusk complimented.

“You expected less?” Star asked his brother back, turning then to Mallet. “Mallet, the rope!”

Hearing him, Mallet grabbed the rope and started pulling to bring the Waypoint closer to the Chaos.

“Yes!” Dusk exclaimed. “We're doing it, Sea Raiders! Keep rocking! Iron, Star, help Mallet!”

But Iron Feather placed himself at the tip of the bow. He raised a hoof and a lightning stroke onto it. Seeing that, Dusk asked, worried, leaving the helm and approaching Iron Feather:

“Iron! Are you okay, Iron?”

“I don't like the looks of this, Cap'n!” Calabrass told Dusk.

It was then that Iron Feather started laughing an evil laugh. Hearing that, Star could feel his suspicions getting confirmed, while Dusk was still oblivious to that.

“What's with the wicked, bad-guy style laughing, Iron?” Dusk asked. “It's not very enemy of my enemy of you.”

And so Iron Feather turned to Dusk and blasted lightning at Calabrass, causing him to fly to him. After that, he blasted lightning at Dusk, knocking him down.

“No one will open the Waypoint of Aeria!” Iron Feather shouted, as he used the winds on his cloak to take flight. “No one!”

“Get your dirty hooves off me, you crazy…” Calabrass started.

But before he could finish, Iron Feather electrocuted Calabrass.

“Calabrass!” Dusk called.

“Bad news, Dusk Storm” Iron Feathers said. “You won't be leaving this cyclone!”

Star fired magic blasts at Iron Feather, but he blocked the blasts with his wings. He then turned around and claimed:

“I have the sword! Free the Guardian!”

“Who is he talking to?” Dusk asked.

His answer was answered when the Eel immerged from the winds of the cyclone, with Golden Bones on it.

“Bones?” Dusk asked, not wanting to believe it.

“Well done” Golden Bones congratulated. “Skullviar will be pleased, Iron Feather.”

“Worm!” Calabrass shouted at Iron Feather. “You're nothing but Skullivar's dogsbody!”

“I only serve one master, and it isn't Skullivar” he replied to him.

“I warned you!” Star told Dusk. “Aerians cannot be trusted!”

“I'll make up for this, Star” Dusk said. “I promise you!”

With those words said, Dusk got onto the Plank and surfed to Iron Feathers. Seeing him approaching, Iron Feather blasted lightning at Dusk, making him and the Plank to fall down.

“Dusk!” Star called.

Fortunately, Dusk was able to get himself back onto the Plank. But the hard part would be get back up.

“Come on, Dusk, you've surfed bigger and badder!” he told himself. “It's just a big roller. Just a big roller.”

While Dusk was trying to get back up, Iron Feather demanded to Golden Bones:

“Free the Guardian.”

“Give me the sword” Golden Bones replied.

“The Guardian first” Iron Feather answered. “Or I'll destroy the sword.”

And Iron Feather charged his hoof that was holding Calabrass with electricity. With no other option, Golden Bones turned to his skeletons and told them:

“Free the Guardian!”

They obeyed and then the Guardian of the Aeria Waypoint was summoned, roaring after appearing.

“Master!” Iron Feather exclaimed, with a smile, while bowing.

The Guardian seemed to acknowledge him and then looked to the Chaos and his crew.

“The Guardian of the Aeria Waypoint!” Star said.

The Guardian positioned itself behind Iron Feather and then Golden Bones told to the latter:

“Give me the sword.”

The Aerian threw Calabrass to Golden Bones, but when he was about to get it, Dusk appeared and replied, while getting Calabrass:

“That's my sword!”

“What the…” Golden Bones started, still processing what happened and then turning to Iron Feather. “Our transaction is not complete! Seize him!”

But he just laughed evilly and replied:

“I only serve one master. And it's not you!”

He and the Guardian got covered with electricity, with the latter roaring at Golden Bones. Turning to his skeletons, the general told them:

“Shoot it down!”

The skeletons started firing at the Guardian, making it roar, but Iron Feather was able to block those blasts, while saying:

“You never should've come here! Earth-dwelling rat!”

He blasted lightning at the skeletons and Golden Bones.

Nearby, Dusk noticed that his friends were still holding to the Waypoint and so he started surfing to the latter. However, the Guardian noticed him and roared. Seeing him to, Iron Feather told the Guardian:

“Take your revenge, my master! I'll handle the boy.”

And so Iron Feather started flying towards Dusk, while the Guardian continued to attack the skeletons with lightning blasts.

When Dusk was very close of the Waypoint, he received a lightning blast that hit the Plank and caused him to dodge the Waypoint. After stabilizing and turning to Iron Feather, the latter told him:

“You're out of your depth, Dusk. Stand down!”

But Dusk ignored him and flew back to the Waypoint.

“Stay away from the Waypoint!” Iron Feather demanded.

He fired lightning again, forcing Dusk to dodge the Waypoint again, and then followed him.

“What the dook, Iron?” Dusk asked him. “Bones and Skullivar are our enemies!”

“All who want to open the Waypoint of Aeria are enemies of the Guardian” Iron Feather replied. “And my master's enemies are my enemies. Even you!”

Iron Feather continued to fire lightning blasts at Dusk who continued to dodge. As he defended himself from Iron Feather, he noticed the Guardian blasting out electricity to the Eel. Before that situation, Golden Bones exclaimed to his soldiers:

“Fall back! Fall back!”

It was then that the Guardian hit the Demoniac away with its tail and the Eel flowed to the tornado.

“Skullivar tricked my master once while he was weakened” Iron Feather told, as the Guardian joined him. “None shall defied him or this land ever again!”

“So you're willing to do anything?” Dusk asked, noticing the Guardian heading towards the Chaos. “Even trap us when we saved your life?”

“I've been manipulating you from the start!” Iron Feather revealed. “You were willing to do anything to open the Waypoint. So I allowed you to rescue me from Bones.”

Dusk couldn’t believe how fool he was to fall for Iron Feather’s trick, especially when that led to his friends being endangered by the Guardian of Aeria.

“You were a necessary pawn in a bid to free my master from Skullivar” Iron Feather continued. “Now that the deed is done, I have no quarrel with you… if you turn away.”

Having said that, Iron Feather started heading to where the Guardian was. But Dusk wouldn’t let himself be persuaded to give up that easily.

“That's great, but I've got a quarrel with you!” Dusk said. “Calabrass, give me the Eye of Aeria!”

And so Dusk and Calabrass transformed. After that, he advanced against Iron Feather and the two started fighting. While doing it, Dusk asked Iron Feather:

“You wanna be enemies?! Good! I'm not like you. I'm not willing to do anything and use good people to get what I want.”

It was then that Dusk, charging Calabrass’ axe blade with electricity, was able to lend a powerful blow on Iron Feather, sending him flying away. After that, he turned to the Guarding and blasted lightning at it, causing him to stand back from the Chaos. Approaching his ship, Dusk told Star:

“Star, get the Chaos out of the cyclone!”

“We can still hold on” he replied, at the helm. “Open the Waypoint. It is so close!”

“If we open the Waypoint, but lose the Chaos, none of this matters” Dusk answered back.

“Captain right” Mallet said to Star, while holding the magic rope. “Chaos in trouble!”

Clover appeared at the bow and told:

“He can still do it! He's Dusk Storm!”

They heard a roar and the Guardian appeared again. Before that situation and knowing the Guardian would destroy them as long they got hold on the Waypoint, Star told Mallet:

“Mallet, cut the cable!”

Mallet did so, releasing the Waypoint from the Chaos. After that, the Guardian arrived and blasted electricity to the Chaos, shocking everybody who was on the ship. However, the Guardian unintentionally powered up the engine part that the Sea Raiders have bought from the merchant earlier. Seeing that, Opal exclaimed:

“Incredible! The engine part works! Full power!”

With that, Opal redirected the energy to the engines and they got full power. With that, they were able to surf the tornado.

“Chaos, catch the Guardian!”

And so the Chaos took out his metallic legs and started fighting around with the Guardian. Seeing that, Iron Feather, who had been able to recover from Dusk’s blow, screamed:

“Master!”

He then noticed the Waypoint and that Dusk was approaching it. Going to him, he shouted at him, while preparing another blast:

“You'll never open this or any other Waypoint, you pathetic little pirate!”

Iron Feather chased after Dusk while firing lightning strikes at him, but Dusk managed to dodges every one. Seeing the Waypoint in front of him, Dusk jumped off the Plank and landed himself onto the Waypoint, securing himself to it.

“Pirate, yeah, but also a surfer!” he replied. “And more importantly, I'm the guy who takes care of my friends!”

“Fine job, Dusk!” Calabrass congratulated.

“Try to surf on this, Captain!” Iron Feather replied, appearing behind Dusk.

But when he was about to attack Dusk, the Plank, sensing his owner was in danger, knocked him away.

“Don't mind if I do, enemy of my enemy's enemy!” Dusk said. “Is that right? Triple negative?”

“Focus, lad!” Calabrass told. “It's time!”

And so Dusk placed Calabrass' blade onto the lock of the Waypoint, opening the Waypoint. Once he did that, Calabrass’ eyes and all the Eyes of the Seven Seas shone with a purple light. The symbol on the Waypoint shone as well and then release a giant pillar of light that caused both the cyclone and the Guardian to disappear. Now that they were freed from Guardian, the Chaos landed safely in Aeria. After that, Dusk rode on the Plank from the pillar of light and got back onto the Chaos.

“I told you so!” Clover exclaimed, as Dusk landed and the Plank returned to its place, going with the others to congratulate him. “He did it! Dusk opened the first Waypoint!”

“Dusk Storm, you've got pirate's blood in your veins!” Calabrass replied.

“I don’t know about, but he most certainly has captain's blood” Star said. “You know how to take risks, but you also know how to protect your crew.”

Dusk thanked his brother’s words with a nod and a smile and then said:

“Only six more Waypoints and we're home free! Hey, where is the Guardian?”

“Gone, with the Waypoint” Star replied.

“Mallet wanted eat creature stew!” Mallet replied.

Despite the disconcerted look on the others, Dusk just laughed, as nothing would take him the happiness he felt for being able to give the first step to get back home.

“Knock-knock, Captain” Clover said, pointing ahead. “We're reaching the Beru vortex!”

“Great, something a little calmer after that storm” Dusk said.

And so the Chaos entered the vortex to get back to the Sea of Beru.
