RainbowDash's POV
The Last 2 weeks have been a blast! Despite the fact that I'm only watching that is. Soarin and the Wonderbolts have won both their wildcard game and semifinal game. Both of which were on the road, so they're exhausted. First, they won against New Horseleans and their quarterback SteamBurst 24-21 on a last-minute touchdown! Then they beat The Crystal Empire Academy and Twilight's Brother Shining Armor in an upset 31-28, also in a last-minute touchdown.
Now comes the real challenge. Crystal Prep University. Those snobs beat us in overtime earlier in the regular season. Now it's time for some Revenge. Wonderbolts Style!
Soarin's POV
"Today's the day!" Rapidfire yelled at us, "Alright! We're going to win today! It's our time! Time to end a dynasty! Time to do our best! Time to Compete! Time to Win! Time to be Wonderbolts! WONDERBOLTS on 3! 1-2-3!"
"WONDERBOLTS!"
Alright, Soarin. Do it for RainbowDash! Do it for your Princess!
"Wonderbolts Academy will choose the coin toss!" The referee explained.
"Heads!" Rapidfire called.
"The Wonderbolts have selected heads!"
"We want the ball!" Rapidfire said.
"IT'S GO TIME!" I screamed.
I was standing in the endzone ready to receive the opening kick. Spitfire and the other Wonderbolts Cheerleaders were doing their routine infront of the stands. The Shadowbolts kicker, kicked the ball about 9 yards into the endzone. I decided that since it's that far in the endzone that I'll just kneel and take the touchback.
"Touchback! The Wonderbolts will start on their own 25!"
I lined up on the right side, awaiting Rapidfire's call.
"1-80! Set!"
The ball was snapped to him from our center and I ran about 5 yards forward faked left and ran right to the corner. However, the Shadowbolts corner was with me step for step. Fortunately, I'm not Rapidfire's only Target.
"Rapid, fires to LightningStreak for 35. 1st Down Wonderbolts!"
"Blue 19! Set!"
"Rapidfire steps up! Throws over the middle. Caught by Firestreak for a gain of 16! Another Wonderbolts 1st Down!"
Now we were running a running play with Windwalker.
"Blue 19! Set!"
"Windwalker up the middle for, maybe a yard. 2nd Down!"
Now I was on an in route while FireStreak was on an out route. We essentially were crossing paths to throw our opponents off.
"3-19! Set!"
"Rapidfire steps up! Throws! Intercepted by the Shadowbolts at CPU 12! Back to the CPU 29. Rapidfire on the Tackle!"
I clapped my hands in frustration, "We were so close!"
"Dammit!" Rapidfire shouted, "Sorry Guys!"
"It's okay bro. We'll make it up!"
RainbowDash's POV
The last thing we needed was to throw an interception to the best team in football on the opening drive.
"Let's go Defense!" I heard Scootaloo and my Parents yell!
"I believe in you, Tiger!" I said.
"ShadowWing steps up. Throws for Shade! Caught! Down at the WBA 32. Covered heavily by FireStreak!"
Shade and ShadowWing are considered to be the best QB and WR pairing ever. If Soarin and Rapidfire want to steal that, they need to work extra hard.
"ShadowWing, hands off to Stampede! Around the outside. He's at the Wonderbolts 20. 15. 10. 5. Touchdown Shadowbolts!"
"NOOOOOOO!" Scootaloo screamed.
"2 plays and they're in the endzone!"
I really hate the announcers at away games!
Soarin's POV
***Half Time***
Things aren't looking good. We started by throwing that interception leading to a CPU touchdown. However, our next few drives were awful! We had a Fumble, Punt and a missed Field Goal! We did get a Field Goal after that though. Meanwhile, they got 4 Touchdowns in 4 attempts. They're killing us. And that's just in the 1st Quarter. 3-28 is not what we planned! After the Second Quarter, we improved. We got 2 Touchdowns and 1 Interception to their 2 Touchdowns, a Field Goal and Fumble. Making the score 17-45. The worst part is I have 0 catches and allowed 5 completions! What is going on?!
"We're getting our butts kicked!" Rapidfire yelled, "We can't have that! It's time to turn it around. We don't quit! We're Wonderbolts Right!"
"Right!"
"WONDERBOLTS on 3! 1-2-3!"
"Wonderbolts!"
RainbowDash's POV
I was very concerned about the score. 17-45 is the largest halftime difference in years. I, however, was more concerned about Soarin. He had looked horrible. Like worse than week 1 when I broke his heart. I don't know what's going on. Yes, he wasn't targeted, but that was because he was hardly open. So unlike him.
The Shadowbolts opened up with a long drive to take time off the clock and fumbled! On the WBA next possession, Soarin finally showed up!
"Rapidfire rolls right! Launches to Skies! He goes up and over the defender to pick up the first! What a catch!"
I was overjoyed! "Let's go, Tiger!"
I could feel it. It's time to win Wonderbolts!
Soarin's POV
The third Quarter was wierd. I got my first catch and on the same drive, we got a touchdown making it 24-45. However, another Shadowbolts touchdown extended the lead 24-52. Then there were 3 straight turnovers. We fumbled. They Fumbled. We punted.
"Alright, let's make history! Let's win!" I said.
"WhooHoo! I'm pumped!" Lightning said.
On our 12 yard line, the Shadowbolts looked to extend the lead but-.
"Shadow, pressured! Loses the ball! It's recovered by Soarin on the WBA 12!"
"Let's Go!" I said with handshakes all around. I could feel it. We're winning this!
Rapidfire's POV
After Soarin got the ball back I knew who to throw to.
"Rapidfire. Steps up. Throws deep for Skies who makes the catch at the CPU 20. He's still on his feet. At the 15. 10. 5. Touchdown Wonderbolts! 88 yards!"
"YESSSS!" I said while jumping up in the air giving my teammates hugs.
Soarin's POV
Now we're talking. 31-52. We need to play the best defense of our lives.
"ShadowWing starts on his own 25. Steps up Throws. Intercepted by Skies! Back to the CPU 20! That is the first Interception of ShadowWing in the playoffs ever!"
"YAAAA!"
"Let's Go!"
"Time to score! I yelled at Rapid!"
I caught a pass for 12 but was 8 short of the endzone. No problem on the next play.
"Rapidfire throws, Soarin! Caught! Soarin skies over the defender for another Wonderbolts Touchdown."
RainbowDash's POV
There's the Tiger I know and love. He was doing what he always did. Start off bad and comes back in the 4th quarter! It's now 38-52. They need 2 Touchdowns to tie.
"ShadowWing throws for Shade! Tipped by Skies! Intercepted by FireStreak! Back to the CPU 8! The tides have changed!"
They scored again after that!
"YAAAAAY!" Scootaloo jumped onto my back.
"High Five!"
"Yes!"
After the Shadowbolts rushed 6 times in a row with the quarterback to run the clock out and waste the Wonderbolts Timeouts. They foolishly tried to pass again.
"ShadowWing, this time throws for Striker. Intercepted by LightningStreak! He's got blocker! Streaking down the sidelines! Back to the CPU 20. 15. 10. Tripped up at the 6. 1st and Goal Wonderbolts!"
"WhooHoo!" Scootaloo yelled.
"You got this Tiger!"
Soarin's POV
"Great job!" I headbutted Lightning, "That's how we do it!"
2 plays later we were on the CPU 1 with less than a minute to score.
"Blue 19! Set!"
"Rapidfire pressured and Sacked for a loss of 10!"
We had to rush to the line to spike it. But-.
"Bolt! Bolt!" Rapidfire yelled while swinging his arms. This is code for the fake spike.
"Set!"
Instead of stopping I ran past the defender into the endzone and went up!
"Rapidfire looked to spike and instead throws! Skies! One-handed catch! What a Catch! Caught the ShadowBolts napping as time expires."
"Yes!"
"WaveChill's extra point is... GOOD! We're going to Overtime!"
"Let's do this!"
RainbowDash's POV
"Each team will have a chance with the ball. If the second team repeats what the first team did, overtime will continue. If the first team doesn't score or scores less than the second the game is over. If the first team scores and the second doesn't the game is over. Understand?!"
"Yes!"
"Wonderbolts call the toss!"
"Tails!"
"It is heads!"
"We want the ball!" ShadowWing said.
"CPU has selected to receive."
Alright, Tiger, 1 stop. I love you and believe in you!
Soarin's POV
I was standing in my free safety spot awaiting Shade to come near me. He's the top receiver.
"Shadow! Step up and throws for Shade and it's intercepted by Skies again! What an Interception! Down at the Wonderbolts 44!"
"WhooHoo!" Lightning said as he hit my helmet.
"Let's Go!" I screamed.
Now it's our turn!
"Rapidfire steps up. Throws Deep! Endzone! Looking for Skies! Triple Coverage! It is Caught! Touchdown! Wonderbolts Win in an amazing comeback!"
I got up and sprinted past my hollering teammates to RainbowDash. I pulled her out of the stands and kissed her passionately.
"I love you so much, Princess!"
"I love you too, Tiger!"
RainbowDash's POV
Soarin had just stunned everyone by interception ShadowWing and receiving the game-winning touchdown in overtime! I was so stunned I couldn't move.
Then I saw him running toward me. He pulled me from my seat and kissed me with the most passion we ever had when we kissed. He broke the kiss looked me in the eyes and said, "I love you so much, Princess!"
"I love you too, Tiger!"
I kissed him again.
I let him go to celebrate with his teammates. He jumped into the air on them and they were acting crazy. WBA fans, media, players, and more were storming the field to celebrate the best comeback in history!
***2 hours later***
Soarin's POV
After all the conferences, showers and celebrations I was awarded MVP but I wasn't really thinking about that too much. All I wanted to do was to go see my Princess and just hug, kiss and cuddle with her. I was staring at her not paying any attention to the award ceremony.
"It is my Privilege to award Soarin Skies the MVP for the Championship Game!"
I didn't respond. I was staring at RainbowDash still.
"Soarin. Accept your trophy bro!" Rapidfire nudged me.
"Right. Sorry." I took the trophy blushing a little and help it high. That was met with loud applause and praise from fangirls, football fans, teammates, media, friends, and most importantly RainbowDash.
After that, I was prompted to speak. I started by talking about how I'm thankful for my teammates, the fans and the coach.
"Finally I want to thank my wonderful girlfriend RainbowDash!" I said and everyone cheered.
When they settled down I continued, "Princess, you've been there for me every step of the way and supported me and believed in me. Even when I didn't believe in myself. I love you, Princess." That last part was met with a lot of, 'AWWWWWWs'. Mainly from her friends.
"You're the light of my life and this is all thanks to you!"
After the award ceremony, RainbowDash and I went to our hotel.
"Did you mean what you said?"
"What part?"
"When you said it's all thanks to me."
"Every Word!"
"Really!?"
"Yep," I said kissing her cheek, "I love you, Princess!"
"I love you too, Tiger!" she said kissing me.
"Get a room!" I heard a voice belonging to Spitfire say, "You're still in the lobby!"
"Right! Sorry!" I said blushing. RainbowDash just giggled.
RainbowDash's POV
We went up to our room and sat on the couch.
"I bet you can't wait for Flag football to start, huh?"
"Yep!"
"I can't wait to see you play Princess!"
"Aw. Thanks, Tiger!"
He kissed me and looked me in the eyes.
"I going to win the championship!"
"Confident are we?"
"You know me!" I replied.
"I love you!"
"I love you more!"
