Chapter 21: Why Do You Like RainbowDash!?

Soarin's POV
We just started Winter break. I'm going with Rainbow Dash to her house to celebrate with her and her family. I can't wait!
We are 9-6 and need to win this next game to make the playoffs. However, that game is late the day after Chrismas, here at the Wonderbolts Academy. Unfortunately, we have to leave the house early on the 26th, which happens to be my birthday. It Sucks to have a holiday birthday. You have to give presents for your birthday. The last few years have sucked over the holidays since I don't have a family. Now I do! Kind of.
I got her parent's tickets to the game. They're also fans of mine. As well as Jerseys I wore this season, signed by all my teammates!
I got my Princess a custom made Necklace, half Rainbow Colored Lightning bolt and half Tiger stripped. She doesn't really like Jewelry, but I have a feeling she'll make an exception.
RainbowDash's POV
Today, we leave to go to my parent's house for the holidays with Tiger!
I got him a ring that is half Rainbow Colored Lightning bolt and half Tiger stripped. Also a bonus, a new Guitar!
Soarin got my Parent's tickets to the next game!! I also got my Mom a new camera, she loves to take pictures of the Sunset, and my dad a Wonderbolts T-shirt, he loves clothing.
"Ready to go Princess?" I heard him say as I came out of my room, with a suitcase.
"Sure am!"
I was tired, so he offered to take his car.
"So, Princess. Excited for the holidays?"
"Definitely!"
***2 hours later***
Soarin's POV
"Wake up, Princess," I said shaking my girlfriend, "We're here!"
She yawned and said, "Morning, Tiger."
I laughed, "Princess, it's 3 in the afternoon."
"What? Oh yeah."
"Anyway, let's go say hi to your parents before we go to the party."
Did I forget to mention that Pinkie is having a Party? Actually, Dumb Question. Of course, she is.
"OK!"
Knock. Knock.
"Dashie, your home!" her mom said pulling her into a hug.
"Hi, Mom!"
"Hi, Ms. Windy!" I said.
"Soarin! You made it."
"Of Course!"
"Well, Bow isn't home right now, but he'll be home for Christmas. You need to get to the Party! It starts in 30 minutes!"
"We know!" I said, "Just wanted to say hi."
"I appreciate that. I'll take your bags and put them in your rooms. Have Fun!"
"Thanks, Mom!"
"See you tonight!" I said.
It was around a 25-minute drive to Sugarcube Corner.
"Princess, you excited for Christmas!"
"Of Course!" she said.
"Me too. And for my birthday!"
"WHAT?!"
"I never told you? It's the day after."
"I got you multiple Chrismas Presents, I guess I'll give you some for your Birthday."
"Perfect! Just like you Princess!"
"I'm sorry, Tiger. I didn't know."
"My fault not yours. Let's just enjoy this party!"
"Okay!"
RainbowDash's POV
We got out of the car and walked, holding hands, to Sugarcube corner.
"Hey Pinkie. Sorry, we're late," I said as we walked in.
"No problem!" she yelled.
Then I noticed that the only people there are my closest friends, the CMC(Canterlot Movie Club), Flash, Timber, and Cheese.
"Is this it?" Soarin asked.
"Yep! We decided to keep it smaller," Pinkie said.
"Really?! But you make everything bigger!" I said.
"I know. I felt like being unpredictable this time."
"I'll give you unpredictable, but I'm still surprised."
"Don't worry Sugarcube. It's only because of the Paparazzi and Soarin," Applejack said.
"Thanks. I guess."
"Yay! It's Party Time!"
Only 5 minutes into the party Rarity, Applejack, SweetieBelle, Scootaloo, Applebloom, and even Fluttershy, were annoying Soarin a bit. Mostly the CMC.
"What's your favorite color?" asked SweetieBelle.
"Rainbow," he said winking at me. I blushed.
"What's your favorite animal?" Applebloom asked.
"Tigers," he said with another wink. I blushed again.
"What's your favorite book?" Scootaloo asked.
"Really hoped you guys were going to ask a question where the answer is Princess." he joked, "My favorite book is probably, the Daring Do series."
"Really! Us Too!" they all yelled.
"Alright girls, let's give Soarin here a break, ya hear."
"Okay Applejack," Applebloom said.
"We'll be back!" SweetieBelle said looking Soarin straight in the eyes.
"Sorry about them. They can get a bit, excited," Rarity said.
"No worries. A few questions can't hurt."
"That was like 50 questions though," Fluttershy said shyly.
"Touche."
A few minutes later the CMC came back.
"Alright Skies. We have more questions!" Scootaloo said while AppleBloom held a camera.
"Uh, sure."
"Girls!" I said.
"Don't worry Princess, I'm used to it."
"If you say so."
Soarin's POV
RainbowDash walked away to go talk to some of her friends.
"First question! Why do you like RainbowDash!?"
"Do you want a list of reasons or the biggest reason?" I questioned them back.
"We're asking the questions here!" AppleBloom yelled.
"Okay! Sorry! There are many reasons. Such as her Loyalty, Humor, Style, Personality, and Beauty, outer and inner."
"Anything else?"
"Several. Her voice is music to my ears. Her competitiveness is the most inspiring thing ever. She's the kindest, most loyal, funniest, generous, honest girl, I've ever met."
"Second Question! How did you first meet?"
"In preschool. She followed me everywhere."
"Why'd she do that?"
"She told me it's because she had a crush on me."
"Oh."
"Anyways!" Scootaloo said, "Third Question! Why do you call her Princess and why does she call you Tiger?"
"Well, when I first saw a picture of her, I thought she looked like a Princess, and my mom used to call me a Prince, so I made that a nickname in honor of my Mom. I think it fits well and I know my Mom would be proud."
"Why don't you ask her?"
"Rainbow?"
"No your Mom?"
"Well, I lost her a few years ago, along with my Dad, in a plane crash."
"That's awful!"
"It is. But that's why I honored her."
"What about 'Tiger'?"
"She called me that in Preschool because I love Tigers. It just came back I guess."
"Wow. This is juicy."
"Fourth Question! When are you going to marry her?"
That question made me Blush so red, Applejack could have sold me as a giant apple.
"Well uh- you see."
"Girls!" Rarity said, "You can't ask a boy that! Especially since he is only 18 and they've only been dating for a few months."
"Sorry Soarin."
"It's okay girls. I know you meant well."
I got down and whispered to them and winked, "You can ask me in a few years!"
Rarity's POV
***Same time as Soarin and CMC's Conversation***
RainbowDash left Soarin to be interrogated by my sister and her friends. Oh heavens, that poor boy is going to be buried under questions. I'll go check on them in a few minutes.
"So how's it going with Caramel, Fancy and Discord?" Rainbow asked us.
"To be honest, not great," Applejack said, "Ah can barely get a word out to him."
"Yes. Fancy is supposed to be my Prince, but I can't seem to talk to him."
"Discord makes me nervous too. How do you do it RainbowDash?" Fluttershy asked.
"Well, I was like you three when I first met him. But after getting to know him a bit better, it became easier and easier to talk to him."
"Wow. You are so brave. I could never do that," Fluttershy said.
"Sure you can."
"How do you expect us to talk to boys, Darling," I asked.
"Easy. With your mouth."
"Haha. Very funny RD," Applejack said, "But seriously how?"
"I got these words of wisdom from a friend, 'follow your heart'."
"O-okay. I'll try my best."
"Me too!" I said.
"Yay! Me three!" Fluttershy said quietly.
"Good."
"Are you sure Soarin isn't with you?" I said dramatically.
"For the billionth time. He. Is. MY. Boyfriend."
"Okay. Okay. I get it."
Then I heard the CMC ask Soarin, "When are you going to marry her?"
Soarin blushed as red as a Tomato.
I rushed over to help him.
"Girls!" I said, "You can't ask a boy that! Especially since he is only 18 and they've only been dating for a few months."
"Sorry Soarin."
"It's okay girls. I know you meant well."
He whispered something in their ears. They smiled and he winked. I wonder what he said.
When I came back to AJ, RD, and FS. RainbowDash was blushing like a tomato as well. She must have heard what they said.
"Rainbow Darling. What's wrong?" I asked, "Was it the CMC? Don't be embarrassed. They're just 3 kids exploring."
"I know. It's just awkward."
"I understand. Let's enjoy the rest of the Party."
"Okay. I'm cool. Let's go."
"That's the spirit!"
Soarin's POV
We had a present exchange, which was fun, a lot of clothing from Rarity, animal-based things from Fluttershy, books from Twilight, and random stuff from others.
After I answered all the questions, I didn't have any more for the rest of the party. Thank God! It is 7:30 and the CMC had to go home. Along with Rarity, who had a dress to make, Twilight, and Timber, who had things to do. Fluttershy had pets to feed, and Applejack had to take Applebloom home and had chores. That left me, RD, Scootaloo, who moved in with her family last month officially making them sisters, Pinkie who lived here, Sunset, Flash, and Cheese.
"We should probably go soon, Tiger," Rainbow said to me.
"Alright! Let's go say goodbye."
"Come on Scootaloo."
We said our goodbyes and headed outside to the car. On the way home Rainbow was silent.
"Princess?"
"Um-hum."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"Oh come on Princess. You can tell me."
"Okay. It's about the 4th question you were asked."
"The one about marriage."
"Yep"
"Listen, Princess. That's a long way away. I'm not thinking about that right now. I'm thinking about spending the holidays with you for the first time."
"I know, but do you think we will."
"I sure hope so. We'll just have to wait and see. It will all be okay. You'll see. Trust me." I kissed her on the cheek.
"Okay. Okay. Settle down, Tiger. I trust you!"
"Good."
"I love you, Tiger."
"Love you too Princess."
"That was so adorable!" Scootaloo said as we pulled into the driveway.
"OMG. Completely forgot you were there Scoots. Sorry!"
"No problem. I filmed that!"
"WHAT?!?!?" Soarin and I screamed.
"You'll thank me eventually."
"Why you-"
"I think she's right."
"About?"
"Thanking her in the future."
"Fine. Your right and she's right."
"YAY!" she screamed.

Scootaloo's POV
"IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!" I screamed as I woke up.
I went into my sister's room and jumped on the right side of the bed.
"Oof!" I heard a voice that didn't belong to RainbowDash.
"Soarin?"
"What's up Scoots?"
"Why are you in Rainbow's Bed?"
"Well, since you moved into the guest room, I couldn't sleep there. So my princess, said I can sleep with her."
"Oh. Is she awake?"
"Not yet. Want to wake her?"
"Yes!"
I then got off of Soarin and jumped onto Rainbow.
"Ah!" she screamed, "Oh hey Scoots. A little excited are we?"
"Yep! It's Christmas!"
"How about you go wake up your parents?" Soarin suggested, "I'll start breakfast."
"Chocolate Chip Pancakes?"
"Yep!"
"Yay!"
"Alright, Scootaloo. Let's go."
"Okay."
We walked over to my new Mom and Dad's room.
"Alright, on 3," Rainbow Whispered, "1-2-3!"
We then screamed, "It's Chrismas!!" as I jumped on the bed.
"Ah!" my mom screamed, "You got me!"
"Merry Chrismas you two!" my dad said.
"Merry Chrismas!" I said, "Soarin's making Pancakes!"
"How sweet of him!" my mom said.
"Then we can open presents!" RainbowDash said, "Excited Scootaloo?"
"Duh!"
We waited for a few minutes to go downstairs so my parents could get dressed.
"Breakfast!" Soarin yelled.
"Yay!"
RainbowDash's POV
This is going to be the best Christmas. I have my Mom, my Dad, my celebrity Boyfriend, and my little sister. It's too bad her real parents couldn't come back from Africa.
"Wow, Soarin. These pancakes are delicious!" My mom said after taking one bite.
"Yes. They're really amazing!" My dad said.
Scootaloo was too busy eating to respond.
"Thank you!" he said.
"Scootaloo, chew slower so you don't choke," I said.
"But they're so good!"
"If you finish them too fast they'll be gone!"
"You're right. Slowing down."
Once we finished eating we went over to the living room and saw a beautiful tree with presents below it. My family had a tradition that everyone gets everyone else 1 gift. It's normally 3 because there was normally 3 of us. But now we have 5.
"Wow! It's breathtaking!" Soarin said.
"Good job on the tree Mom!" I added on.
"Thank you!"
"So. Can we open presents!?" Scootaloo asked.
"Of Course. Do you want to pick the first one Scootaloo?" my dad asked my sister.
"Okay!" she went over to the tree and picked up a present, "This one is from Mom to RainbowDash."
"Aw. Thanks, Mom!" I said opening it to reveal a phone case that had a Rainbow-pattern on the back. My old one was starting to break.
"Your welcome Sweetheart!
"This one is from RainbowDash to Dad."
My dad took the present and opened it. I got him a Wonderbolt custom T-shirt with his name on the back.
"I love it, sweetheart," he said hugging me and tearing up, "Thank you!"
"Your Welcome Dad."
"This one is from Me to Mom," Scootaloo said handing my Mom a large, poorly wrapped present.
It was a new Bathrobe, "Wow! I love it Scoots! Thank you!"
"Your welcome Mom!"
Scootaloo got a new Scooter from Dad, Kleets from me, a small Soarin Jersey and Ticket from Soarin, and a Bike from my Mom. We had to go outside for that last one.
My dad got a lot of clothing. Wonderbolt socks from Scootaloo, Jeans form Mom, and a Jersey and a ticket to the game from Soarin.
My Mom got slippers from my dad, a matching Jersey and a ticket to the game from Soarin, and a new Camera from me.
I got 2 hats from Scootaloo, one for me and one for Tank, and Sneakers from my dad.
Soarin got 3 gift cards from my family. Hah! That's so funny. They didn't know what he likes especially being a celebrity. He said, "I'm just grateful to be here." and insisted that they take it back. They didn't.
Now, all that's left is my present for Soarin and Soarin's present for me. Also, his birthday presents.
"Alright, from Soarin to RainbowDash!"
I opened it. "OMG!" It was a beautiful necklace with a pendant of a Lightning Bolt, colored half Tiger stripes and half Rainbow. It looked exactly like the ring I got him.
"Wow, Tiger. It's wonderful!" I said, "It's Beautiful!"
"Not as much as you Princess!" I blushed and put it on.
"I love it," I said and hugged him.
"Now it's your turn!"
He opened it and said, "I knew we were meant to be! We gave each other matching Jewelry!"
"Wow! They look identical!" My dad said.
"You guys designed these? Separately?"
"Yep. It was fate! Right, Princess?"
"Right!"
"Look up!" Scootaloo said.
We did and saw a green leaf wrapped in a red ribbon above our heads.
"Shall we Princess?"
"Of course, Tiger!"
He bent down because you know, I'm short and he's tall and kissed me.
"Ew, but also Awww," Scootaloo said.
Sometimes I hate Mistle Toe. Right now is not one of those times.

Soarin's POV
It's my Birthday, but also one of the most important tests of my life. We have to beat Cloudsdale Academy to make the playoffs. We had beat them earlier in the year, but they didn't have their main Quarterback, FlameWing. He is really good. He has won the last 3 games basically singlehanded. RainbowDash's Dad was driving, her mom is sitting shotgun while, Scootaloo, RD and I were in the back.
When we got there I was dropped off by the player's only entrance, near the locker room.
"Good luck Tiger!" RainbowDash said, giving me a kiss.
"Thank you, Princess!" I said in return.
I walked in, put on my uniform and got ready.
I got in the huddle preparing for the game.
"Alright, boys! We know what we need to do! We need to go out on our field and win! Simple as that. I don't care that FlameWing is back. Not even he can beat us on our field! In Football when you have an opportunity to make a play, you make a play! Right! So let's go make some plays! Game on, on 3. 1-2-3!" Rapidfire said.
"Game On!"
We start on Defense and immediately, we knew we are going to have a hard time.
"On 2nd and 1, Wing steps up. Throws deep. Double covered. And it is Caught! Touchdown! Cloudsdale!" the announcer said.
"Darn it!" I said as I got up.
Firestreak and I were double-teaming the receiver and he still got it.
At the end of the first quarter, we were losing 21-0. Not exactly ideal.
"Alright, boys, time to turn it around!" Rapidfire said.
"Rapidfire rolls left. Slings one down the field for Lightning. Tipped, and caught! Soarin came up behind Lightning and caught it! Touchdown, Wonderbolts!"
"Let's Go! Let's Go!" I said doing the Wonderbolts handshake with all my teammates. Finally a score.
At half time, we were down 21 again. This time 28-7.
"Hey! We're alright. We just got to get back in it. We're better and we know it. Now we just need to act like it!" Our Coach said, "Let's go get it!"
In the third quarter, neither team scored. Just a bunch of Punts.
"Hey, we stopped them, that's good. Not we just have to not be stopped!" Rapid said.
We have the ball in to start the 4th.
"Rapidfire, chased, throwing, to the endzone, and it'sssss caught by Thunderlane!"
"Ya. Let's go!" he said, as Handshakes were passed all around. 28-14.
"Now it's time to stop them. Down 2 scores. Let's Go!" I said to my teammates.
"FireWing, hit as he throws and it's intercepted by Soarin! Back to the Cloudsdale 20."
We scored again and were now down by 7. Then LightningStreak got an Interception. However, Rapid was picked off right after.
With 45 seconds left they have the ball and we need it back.
"Wing throws deep. Intercepted! Skies. Again! Back to the Wonderbolts 49."
A few moments later.
"Rapidfire, to the endzone, caught by LightningStreak! Touchdown. We're all tied up! We're going to Overtime!"
We just scored 21 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to force overtime.
Unfortunately, they start with the ball on their own 35-yard line.
"Overtime is on! FireWing rolls right. Sets. Fires! Deep down the field. And it'ssss Intercepted by Skies, with one hand! What a Catch! 3rd of the game. He's at midfield. 40. Breaks a tackle. 30. 20. Breaks another tackle. Turns on the Jets! 10. 5. Touchdown!!! Wonderbolts win!"
When I got to the endzone I gave the ball to RainbowDash who was in the VIP section right next to the endzone and gave her a kiss.
"I love you, Princess!" I said.
"Love you too Tiger!"
I gave Scootaloo my Helmet and she jumped up and she hugged me!
"You're awesome."
"You are too!"
I turned around and started to celebrate with my teammates.
"YAAAAAA! Let's Go!" I said while my teammates stormed the field.
"What a comeback. Down 21 in the 4th quarter. 3 passing touchdowns and 3 picks to force overtime. Then in Overtime a Pick 6 ends it!" the announcer said.
"Playoffs baby. Whoo-hoo!" Rapidfire said.
"Good job Skies!" FireStreak said.
"You're the best, man!" Thunderlane said.
"That's how it's done!" WaveChill said.
"Heck ya!" Windwalker said.
RainbowDash's POV
***At the beginning of the 4th Quarter***
28-7. Not looking good for Soarin and the Wonderbolts.
"Rapidfire, chased, throwing, to the endzone, and it'sssss caught by Thunderlane."
"YAAAAAYYYY!" Sccotaloo yelled, "Touchdown!"
"What a catch!" My dad commented.
"FireWing, hit as he throws and it's intercepted by Soarin! Back to the Cloudsdale 20."
"Let's go, Tiger!" I yelled.
"Wing throws deep. Intercepted! Skies. Again! Back to the Wonderbolts 49."
"Rapidfire, to the endzone, caught by LightningStreak! Touchdown. We're all tied up! We're going to Overtime!"
The crowd erupted!
"They did it!" I yelled.
"Whoo-hoo!" Scootaloo said jumping up and down.
On the first play of Overtime, Cloudsdale started with the ball.
"Overtime is on! FireWing rolls right. Sets. Fires! Deep down the field. And it'ssss Intercepted by Skies, with one Hand! What a Catch! 3rd of the game. He's at midfield. 40. Breaks a tackle. 30. 20. Breaks another tackle. Turns on the Jets! 10. 5. Touchdown!!! Wonderbolts win!"
"OMG!" My dad said.
"YAAAAYYYY!" Scootaloo screamed.
"Yes! They did it!" My mom said.
After Soarin scored he ran over to us. He handed me the game-winning ball and kissed me. I was shocked because no one really knew about our relationship other than friends and family. All the girls in the stands were giving me the stink-eye. I wanted to say, 'In your face', but I was a little love-struck.
"I love you, Princess!"
"Love you too Tiger!"
He gave Scootaloo his Helmet and she jumped up and hugged him!
"You're awesome."
"You are too!"
He then went to celebrate with the Wonderbolts. The team had stormed the field. They had gone crazy.
Soarin's POV
After I took a shower, I went out to my post-game interview, where I was asked about RainbowDash.
"Is it true that you and RainbowDash are dating?"
"Y-yes," I said nervously. Will Dash be okay with me saying that or will she be mad?
After my conference, which wasn't really about the game, more about my relationship, I went to find my Princess. She probably is mad at me.
"H-hey Princess."
"Hey, Tiger."
A few moments of silence passed.
"So. You told them huh?"
"Ya. Are you mad?"
"Mad? Why would I be mad?"
"Because I just told the world about us!"
"Yes, but do you realize how many girls are jealous of me now?"
"Is that a trick question?"
"Sort of," she laughed, "The point is I love you, and no one, not even the media, is going to tear us apart."
"You're the best Princess."
"I know."
I laughed, "I love you!"
"Love you too. Let's go home."
RainbowDash's POV
"Congratulations Soarin!" my Dad said.
"Thank you, Sir."
"You were amazing!" my Mom said.
"I appreciate that!"
"You got to teach me how to catch like that!" Scoots said.
"Of course!"
"Yay!!"
We got in the car and went back home.
"Happy Birthday Tiger!" I said, just remembering.
"What? Oh ya. Forgot about that!"
"Happy Birthday Soarin!" My family said in unison.
When we got home, Scootaloo immediately grabbed Soarin's presents and hopped up and down.
"Open them! Open them!"
"Okay, Scoots. I will. Just let me sit down."
"Fine."
After he sat down, he opened his presents. There wasn't much. A card, with gift cards probably, and my present.
"Thanks, guys. Really. I don't need these though."
"You must. It's a present."
"You got me there."
He then opened mine. Oh, I hope he likes it.
"Wow! Princess. It's. It's incredible!"
"You like it, Tiger?"
"I love it. Thank you." He said while giving me a kiss.
It was a brand new Guitar, Blue with Silver trim, gold Strings, and a rainbow/Tiger colored strap.
