//------------------------------// // Ch.6:Spitfire's Saviour // Story: Blue Electric's Destiny // by Blueelectric //------------------------------// Ten minutes earlier.... Spitfire and the other Wonderbolts were in the locker room, getting ready for the show in Ponyville. They were staying in Ponyville for this and next weekend's performance and staying at the town's hotel. After she put on her uniform and goggles, she turned to her teammates. "Okay team, we got a big crowd out there and I wish you good luck. Who knows what might happen today, but I hope all of you all put on a great show." She said. The whole team cheered in excitement. With Spitfire in lead, they all head out onto the platform. Spitfire gaze down to the large crowd. Soarin tapped Spitfire on the back. She look back at him with raised eyebrow. He pointed at crowd with an amused look. "Hey Captain, look who showed up." She look to where he pointed at. In one of the rows was newbie Dash. She was walking up to one of her friend and another mare, caring snacks. She squinted at the other mare curiously. She was a pure black mare with a flamboyant long spiky blue mane. But what caught her eyes were her matching blue bat wings and her blue eyes. Instead of round pupils like most ponies, her pupils was in slits, in which she admit was kind of cute. It made her face go warm. She and the others ready their wings as the announcer spoke and flew in a V shape formation. She felt pure joy as the crowd cheered loudly. As they perform, Spitfire keep glancing at the bat pony. She felt pride bursting in her chest as the mare look on with awe. Rainbow Dash was sitting beside Fluttershy chatting with the mare and pointing at them. Suddenly large gray clouds covered the sky and large, fat raindrops were falling out of the sky. Thunder was roaring and large lightning bolts flashing by. The crowd ran to take cover from this sudden storm. Spitfire tried to dodge the flashes of electricity but all of a sudden one hit her out of the blue and she felt herself plummeting to the ground. As she came close to hitting the ground, something rushed forward and caught her. Not before falling itself and cushioning her from the the ground below. Before she passed out she got a good look at her saviour; it was the cute bat pony who had already blacked out. Spitfire slowly laid her head on her saviour before blacking out as well. 5 hours later... Spitfire woke up later in a hospital bed. She find that she was stripped from her uniform and one of her wings have been bandaged. She heard the door open and Dr.Stable walked in levitating a clip-note. He gazed at her as he walked up towards her with a smile. "Good, afternoon Miss Spitfire, I am happy to report that you are free to go. Unfortunately, your wing got singed from that lightning strike and you have to stay off of it for a few days," he explained. "If it wasn't for that mare's brave action, it would have been a lot worst." Spitfire slowly raised from the hospital bed and landed on the floor. She gazed up at the tawny unicorn. "Well, that's somewhat good news." She paused. "How is she?" He flipped through the paperwork. "It says here she broke a wing and cracked a few ribs. You can go see her if you like. She's just in the room across from this one." She trotted out the room and head towards the other. She hesitated as she open the door and poked her head in. The mare there lying on the bed. The table beside her was full of get well cards, treats, and a bouquet of roses. Spitfire thought the black mare was asleep as she slowly step inside. A fuzzy ear twitch and the mare opened her eyes. Spitfire paused for a second as the bat pony gazed at her. "You can come over, I won't mind." She spoke in a soft voice. She turned on the lamp beside the hospital bed. "I'm Blue Electric, by the way," She continued as Spitfire walked up towards her. "But I go by the name Blue. You must Spitfire." Spitfire looked away blushing furiously. "That's correct." She look back at Blue. "I just wanted to say thank you. If it wasn't for your quick actions, I would've been done for." Blue reached out with a smile and gave her a hug. "It's no problem, everypony would have done the same." Spitfire pause for a moment, feeling hot all over. My gosh, she's so soft! she thought as she carefully return the embrace. She gazed at bandaged bat wing. "How long does the doc have you in for?" She asked. Blue followed her gaze. "Just tonight, so they can monitor me. I'll be out tomorrow morning." She replied. "Your friends with Rainbow Dash, right?" Spitfire asked as she glanced at her hero. The bat pony nodded. "Did she said anything about the sudden storm?" Blue nodded. "She said there's been a small accident at the weather factory. Luckily, none of them got hurt themselves" Spitfire sat on the cushion beside the bed. "So, your new around here?" Blue nodded her head as she reach out and snatched a cookie. "Just moved in a week ago." Her ears drooped. "My mother past away in my hometown, so I came here for a new start." She plopped the cookie in her mouth. Spitfire put her hoof on Blue's shoulder. "I'm sorry to hear about that." She said solemnly. She glanced at the gifts on the table. "So, who brought you these gifts?" She asked, changing the subject. "My new friends. Pinkie Pie gave me these cookies and Rarity got me these roses. The rest brought me the cards." Then suddenly Blue's ears pricked up. "And it sounds like they're coming back now." She glanced at Spitfire with a smirk. "Do you want to play a trick on them?" Spitfire nodded with a smile. "What should I do?" Blue glanced at the door as Spitfire heard voices. "Hide under the bed and stay very still. When one of them gets close, brush them with your tail." Spitfire nodded with a smile as she slipped under the bed. She tucked her legs under her belly and swished her tail. She held her breath as seven mares and a young dragon stepped into the room. Princess Twilight step close first. "How's your wing Blue?" The purple alicorn asked. "Doing fine. I had worst injuries then this." Blue replied. Spitfire brushed her tail against her leg. Twilight took a step back looking at the floor. "What's wrong Twilight?" Asked her assistant, Spike as he step closer. The princess shook her head. " Nothing, Spike. I thought I felt something on my leg." The fiery mare did the same to him. He jumped back with a yelp. "I felt it too!" Pinkie Pie step towards them sniffing the floor like a dog. Same thing happened. She jumped back laughing like a maniac. "That tickles!" She crouched to see what's under the bed. The pink mare giggled. "Hey everypony! Look who's hiding under the bed?" The rest crouched to see what she had find. Spitfire froze as sixteen pair of eyes gazing back at her. Rainbow Dash spoke first. "Spitfire, is that you under there?" The Wonderbolt slowly crawled back out from the bed. The others gazed at her with shock. "Sugercube, why are you hiding under the bed?" Applejack questioned. Blue spoke up, "I told her to. She came in to thank me and I wanted to surprise you all." The rest said "Ohhhhh!" Twilight smiled at her. "So how are you, feeling Spitfire?" "Doing all right. The doctor said I just singed my wing and let me go." She gazed at Blue with a smile. "And with out her saving me, things would have been a lot worst." Fluttershy smiled, "Well, that's great." The others nodded. Pinkie glanced at the cookies. "Hey, you didn't eat the rest of my get well cookies." Blue grabbed the tray. "You guys wanna share?" The others cheered in agreement and grabbed a cookie. Blue offered one to Spitfire who happily took it. The cookies were sugar cookies which said "get well!" in frosting. The rest of the evening went well as they laugh and joke around.
