Starlight awoke to her new surroundings of the Sires Hollow hospital and could hear a familiar voice calling her name. "Starlight… Starlight." Starlight's vision had finally come into focus so she could see the pony beside her. "Starlight," Twilight said once again, gaining her attention.
"Wha… what happened?" Starlight asked as she attempted to straighten herself up. "Ow…"
"Careful!" Twilight said helping get to a better position without hurting her. "Well… uh, after our argument, you left to go to your dad's in Sires Hollow and… you fell down the stairs and broke your leg and a few ribs. You went through the window!" Twilight held an expression of guilt and sorrow. "Starlight, I'm so sorry. For our argument. If I hadn't told you to leave you wouldn't be here right now, you would be in the castle safe and sound."
"It's alright, I forgive you. But… where's Rainius?" Starlight asked.
"Oh, he's over there. He's asleep." Twilight replied. "He never leaves. You're lucky to have someone so loyal. And who cares about you."
"Twilight?" Starlight began.
"Hm? What is it, Starlight?" She inquired.
"C… Could you um… tell my dad that I'm awake and doing fine?" She requested.
"Of course. I'll be back." Twilight said before she walked out of the room.
Rainius immediately got up from where he was sitting and walked over to Starlight's bedside. "What happened? Where's Fury?" Starlight asked.
"We took care of him. He's dead." Rainius said. "And Silvertail, she ran off but I'm sure we'll cross paths with her again."
"What about Latenighter?" She continued on.
"None of us know. Probably all the way to Vanhoover, or Fillydelphia, maybe even here in Sires Hollow." He told her.
"What did you do after I passed out?" She egged on.
"Me, my aunt Celestia, and my mother all finished off Fury then immediately brought you here, then went back to your dad's where we busted a window and threw something down the stairs to make it sound like it was you. Then the hospital did some transfusions since you lost a lot of blood. And then we told Twilight and we've just been waiting for you to wake up." Rainius explained.
Starlight looked at the IV in her arm then shuddered. She didn't really like needles. "You really broke a window in my father's house?" She teased.
Rainius chuckled. "Yeah. And we may have accidentally set that strange place where we killed Fury in on fire." He said. The two laughed before Rainius moved in closer to her and gave her a small kiss. "I love you, Starlight Glimmer."
"I love you too, Prince Rainius Songbird." She said.
"I'm no prince." He said, thinking about all that has happened and doubting his own strength.
"You are too me." She said to try to lighten his mood, but it didn't help. "I'm alive because of you."
"No, you're in here because of me. And the worst part was is I didn't think I would save you in time." Rainius said. "Which is why I think it's best if I just go… I can't risk anything like that happening to you again."
"Wh… what?! N-n-n-no! Y… you can't just go. What do you mean just go?! N… n… no. I… I can't live without you… j-just don't leave m… me. Please. You can't leave me!" Starlight begged of him.
Rainius looked at the heart monitor and saw that Starlight's heart rate had increased. He sighed. "Where else am I supposed to go?"
"Nowhere. Stay at the castle with me!" Starlight demanded, making him laugh a bit.
"Fine." He agreed. "But, I'm just not sure how I can keep you safe, especially with my past coming back to haunt me."
"Please, don't worry so much about that. Let's just focus on getting ready for the Grand Galloping Gala." She reminded him.
"Alright…" Rainius said, agreeing with her.
Later at the Gala. Ponies were gathered from far and wide in their finest attire to meet their needs, desires, and above all their entertainment of the music. Twilight and all her friends we're there. Fluttershy was with Discord, Pinkie was with Cheese Sandwich, Applejack was with Trenderhoof, Rainbow Dash was with Soarin, and Rarity was with Spike. Twilight though, had no one. "Oh hey, Starlight… Rainius." She greeted, trying to hide her emotions, she even put a mind block spell on herself to keep Rainius from reading her mind.
"Hey, Twilight. The place looks great. You did a really great job."Starlight said.
"Thanks, Starlight." Twilight thanked her. She looked at her, then at Rainius, then back at her. "I hope you and Rainius will be happy together." Her comment made Starlight smile.
Starlight and Rainius made their way outside to the castle garden. "Care to dance?" Rainius asked her.
"It would be my pleasure, your Highness." Starlight said bowing.
Rainius smirked. "Again. I'm not a prince." He chuckled.
"Rainius, I have a question?" Starlight began.
"And what's that?" Rainius asked, intrigued.
"Why did you choose me?" Starlight demanded to know.
Hearing her question caught him off guard and yet gave him a strong impression to answer it knowing that she desired to know the truth, Rainius kisses her "Because you are the only one who holds my heart." He said.
Chuckling the mare kissed him "Good to know that all it took was for me to be myself who can actually be herself around you." She replied.
"And I'm glad you did," Rainius said, kissing her again, but this time on the neck.
"Me to my handsome prince." She chuckled as she said.
"And I wouldn't want it any other way Miss Glimmer." He replied as he gave her a small smile, kissing her once more to complete their deal.
From afar Silvertail watched as the couple danced, and it was then she began to hatch an evil plan to get revenge. To avenge Fury. She then ran off to start working on her big plan of revenge. To kill Starlight and make Rainius feel the same pain she did. An eye for an eye.
