Arc 1: A Whole New World

Their eyes looked at Asgore with pure hatred as their LOVE destroyed him once more. It was getting repetitive with these monsters, perhaps they would allow Frisk to slip in again and begin with a non-genocidal route, but Frisk was practically dead.

Their evil grin spread across their face as they clicked on ERASE. The world shattered around their feet and Chara saw a template with a new game. They had lost count on how many games they had played but as usual, they pressed the New Game button. A small and familiar whisk followed but there was a strange tug as well, one that was new. With newfound curiosity, Chara looked around in shock as the world spun. They appeared on solid green grass and fell, not on a patch of golden flowers.

They stood and looked around, almost falling again in shock. They fell in front of a crystal like palace structure. There was a purple pony and a dragon who were near the door, facing the other way. Chara could barely hear them from their position but dared not move forward. If they finished this world on their first try, then it would be a worthy accomplishment. They wondered if the situation was the same as the previous world, where they were the only human and the others would want to kill them.

They hoped that it wouldn't be like that- it would be too bland.

"Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie! Hmm... there's something a tad different 'bout you?" A pink pony suddenly appeared in front of Chara, resulting the latter to take a step back in surprise. Their hands went to where their knife used to be, but it wasn't there.

New world, explore. They scolded themselves. Think of a reply to answer this pink pony.

Pinkie cheerfully went on, "You're new, aren't you? Well, have fun here! I hope you love this place! It's been so long since there's been an arrival. Where are you staying?"

"..."

"No matter. I'll tell Twilight we have a new pony!" With that, the pink one bounded off.

The brown eyed human stared at the pony before strolling the other way, eager to find more about the world, though more hesitant after that encounter. They saw a few more ponies that stopped and gaped at them as they walked past casually. One similarity that they noticed was that the presence of humans in that world was definitely uncommon.

"Are you a human?" A bright blue unicorn approached them.

Chara scowled, "What gave you the first clue?"

"I mean, I don't actually know what they look like but you don't look like a pony. I'm Lyra Heartstrings by the way. What's your name?"

Chara grabbed a nearby stick and pointed it to 'Lyra', "Are you going to try to kill me?"

"No! I would never."

Their eyes glowed reddish, "If you don't go now, I will murder you." The stick immediately became pointier. They focused upon it until the stick itself glowed.

Lyra backed away, "I..." She fled like the weakling she was, leaving Chara holding a stick out. The human scowled. There, they SAVEd before continuing along their journey.

Some ponies, no doubt hearing about their sharp stick, fled into their homes as soon as Chara made eye contact. Chara gave a self satisfied smirk as they journeyed on. They would kill all of them later, they would make sure of it. It wasn't like this was going to be too different from the normal world. In fact, this was a nice change, a new environment.

"There they are!" An annoying voice came from behind her. They identified it as the pink pony from before. They turned around swiftly only to see six ponies standing there.

The first one was the pink pony from earlier. Pinkie Pie if Chara remembered correctly. Pinkie Pie was bouncing in place, a giant smile plastered on her face. She seemed truly at joy, as if she was sharing an internal joke with herself.

The next only had pink hair and their fur color was a gentle yellow. She shied underneath her long strands of pink hair, doing her best to avoid eye contact. On her flanks were pink butterflies, which matched her hair.

The blue one with wings and rainbow hair was truly frightening. She glared at Chara with hatred. Chara gave a smirk in return at that one. She seemed to be fun to kill eventually. Nothing was going to stop their path of destruction.

A completely white furred pony with purple curls for hair looked glamorous. She stared at Chara calmly, muttering something about forgetting to bring a scarf.

The fifth one had a scowl matching the rainbow haired one. She seemed to be the most muscular one in there and ready to charge. She had a cowboy hat on top of her head.

The last one had both wings and a horn. The final boss battle Chara told themselves. The pony’s stature was higher than the others and she seemed to be the leader. She was entirely purple, with a few strands of pink.

The purple one frowned, “Did the mirror malfunction?”

Chara snarled, pointing their stick only to have it surrounded by a purple aura and taken away. Whatever, not like I’ve never tried a challenge without weapons before. My hands and determination will be enough. I don’t need to reply to this purple dumb head, maybe when I reset sometime I’ll find something.

The purple one tried giving a small smile, though it was obviously forced, “I’m Twilight Sparkle. These are my friends, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity. Lyra told me about you... and your stick. Why don’t we go to my castle to talk more?”

Chara snarled, “Why don’t all of you die?” A wicked gleam caught their face and they smiled.

“I’m sorry then.” Before another word could be exchanged, the seven of them were whisked away. Chara felt their feet touch the floor of a marble, no, a crystalline structure. Chara scowled as they felt rope tie them up and something floated them to a chair. It reminded them of how Sans could turn gravity around constantly during their fight in their hall. It wasn’t pleasant, your head spinning wildly as your perception kept changing. It was one of their reasons for their many deaths during that first fight. To their shock, the purple aura around them hadn’t changed their views but had only gently put them onto that chair. It wasn’t even a rough chair. It was one of those crystal guest chairs, Chara presumed, around the... castle?

It seemed like a castle. There were thrones after all, six of them and a mini one, for that purple with green spikes dragon who had just entered into the scene.

“Sugarcube,” Applejack as Chara remembered, said, “We don’t know why you’re doin’ this but it gotta stop. No more scarin’ about other ponies, y’hear?”

“I will murder each and every one of you,” Chara smirked, “It’ll be my pleasure.”

The purple one, Twilight Sparkle, spoke sternly, “I don’t care who you think you are but you do not threaten my friends. Never. Spike, send a letter to Princess Celestia and tell her to hold the coronation until this matter is resolved. I won’t have time on my hooves to balance both.”

“You got it.”

“The rest of you may leave. Please inform the other citizens that it’s safe to come out again. I’ve got this handled.”

They exchanged a few farewells and threats before leaving.

Twilight looked at Spike, “I’d like to speak to him alone.” Spike nodded and left.

Chara frowned, “It’s they or them.”

“What?”

“My pronouns are ‘they’ or ‘them’.”

“...Okay then. What’s your name?”

“My name does not matter, but your death does. Free me and I will kill you quickly.”

“And why do you think you hold any leverage over me?”

Chara gave a cruel smile, “Is that a no?”

“Of course not, which sane pony would free you?”

Chara pondered upon resetting but decided against it. It would be enjoyable to see how far this route would take them.

“You.”

“No! Why would... Just answer my question and I’ll give you food. What’s your name?”

They didn’t need food to survive. Then again, by the time Chara would get slightly hungry, LOVE filled them. This world was going to be different and they didn’t want to die by starvation on their first try. Besides, they could just store it in their inventory.

Chara replied, “My name is Chara.” An apple was floated to them. They quickly stored it in their inventory. Twilight gaped, not knowing where the food had gone.

Chara smirked, “You gonna kill me now?”

“No! Execution has been outlawed for centuries. Why would I kill you?”

“In this world... it’s kill or be killed.”

A wicked smile formed on their face as a reddish glow surrounded their pupils.
