Viva Las Pegasus!

by Discord The Narrator

Viva...?

The magnificent cloud city of Las Pegasus stood high on the sky as Unicorns, Pegasi and Earth Ponies wandered around, participating in the different activities scattered everywhere. Hot air balloons landed and took off, making ponies visit the city and leave whenever they wanted.

The high buildings, exciting atractions and colorful lights, however, stopped being important for some time, as everypony focused her eyes on one mare who had just arrived.

Getting out of the hot air balloon, Rarity walked away, looking around and thinking about what to do as other ponies stared at her, mainly because of her current appearance, as she was wearing a black and purple vest, with one bracelet on her left front hoof and another one of her curiously short tail.

In fact, the most surprising things were her mane and tail because, aside from their main color, they were also dyed in green, yellow and violet. And they were also shorter than always.

Everypony tried to process all of that information as Rarity walked past them. But they didn't even know one thing: that was not the real Rarity.

"This is going to be fun," Twilight thought, giggling.

Attractions and game stands were all around, inviting every single pony to have a good time as they tried their luck at the games, Twilight watching as a Pegasus filly won one of them, earning an adorable teddy bear.

"Awwww... It reminds me of that time I won one of those! I couldn't stop hugging it!" Twilight thought.

She also passed near the Ponet Fantastique theater, where a few mares and stallions were practicing their acting skills, much to her likeness.

"I wonder if my friends would like to be part of a show. Rarity would love making the dresses!" Twilight thought, giggling.

The disguised unicorn kept walking until she arrived at one of the best attractions of the resort: the roller coaster. Other rides were also fun, but that one was where most ponies wanted to go, no matter how many times they got in.

"Wow... I wonder how much time the builders took for making that... Heh, Rainbow Dash would love it!" Twilight said.

The queue was long, but she didn't have any problem with waiting. After all, she could be at Las Pegasus for the entire day.
So, she patiently stood in the queue, smiling as a few ponies tried to process who she really was, until the moment arrived for her to get on the wagons.

The ride proved to be exciting, as Twilight and the rest of ponies in the wagons cheered until they heard some strange sounds, and Twilight checked what was happening, her eyes wide open as she discovered the cause of those sounds: some pieces of the track had disassembled by themselves.

"On my special day? No way!"

Twilight used her magic to get off the wagons and levitate herself to the places where the track needed to be fixed. She moved track pieces, put loose screws on their place, and made sure there wasn't any dangerous gap. All of that while the wagons passed beside her, the other ponies feeling truly scared of something which had never happened in Las Pegasus.

Finally, they arrived at the end of the line and, once they stopped, every single pony around cheered at them, also thanking the punky mare who had just saved them.

Twilight giggled as she levitated herself back down, "Oh, it was nothing!"

Just then, a thought came to her, and she asked one stallion, "Did something like this happen any other time?"

"I don't think so... This is the first time it happens in years! Flim and Flam always make sure to take care of everything in here," the stallion asked.

Twilight raised one of her eyebrows after hearing those names, "Flim and Flam? Huh... I wonder what they have been doing after all this time..."

Some minutes later, the disguised Twilight entered the main office of Las Pegasus. Inside, two stallions looking through the window as everypony tried to focus on other things so they could forget about the recent incident.

The stallions turned around as they finally saw Twilight.

"Oh, hello there!" Flim said.

"If this is because of the roller coaster, we already noticed! We were just-"

"About to tell everypony in Las Pegasus that they don't have anything to worry about?" Twilight interrupted Flam, while his brother and him looked at each other with confusion on their faces.

"I'm sorry to ask, but what do you exactly mean?" Flam asked.

"Listen: I know this resort is supposed to be a place where ponies can do whatever they want and have a nice time, but they won't give their smiles and laughs if they don't feel safe. Every single building, attraction or game stand needs to be built in a way that ensures it won't fall apart all of a sudden. That way, ponies will never stop coming here," Twilight explained.

The salespony brothers thought about what Twilight had told them, until Flim finally spoke, "And here we are, believing those materials would last for a long time! That wasn't very smart of us, to be honest."

"Don't worry, dear brother of mine, because this mare right here has convinced us. It will take time... and a lot of money... but we'll make sure everything is in conditions!" Flam said.

"So, when shall we start?" Flim asked.

"Right now would be the perfect moment!" Twilight answered.

"Right now!?" Flim and Flam exclaimed in unison, as Twilight grinned.

The two brothers announced everypony about what was going to happen, and they called some builders to the resort so they could start making the repairing. Twilight, meanwhile, sent a letter to her friends at Ponyville to tell them she would spend some more time at Las Pegasus.

Sure enough, the repairment caused Flim and Flam to give up part of their money, but fortunately, the resort just needed a few repairs, although the builders remade the roller coaster with newer and stronger materials.

After one week, Las Pegasus got back to normal, like nothing had changed, and everypony felt happier knowing the place was safer.

Once again, the disguised Twilight met Flim and Flam in their office.

"So, what do you two think?" she asked.

"It's even better!" Flam said.

"I'll miss all of that money..." Flim said, and Flam stomped on one of Flim's hooves, "Uh! Buuuut it's fine! We'll earn It again! And now, we'll get even more with all of those ponies feeling happier!"

"And everything thanks to you!" Flam said, smiling.

"You're welcome! The rest is up to you two but, knowing how everything has been during all these years, I think it won't be an issue," Twilight asked, before turning around to open the door.

"By the way, I'm curious: is that mane part of some disguise?" Flim asked.

"Yep! The one that helped me win the contest at Ponyville, of course!" Twilight answered, using a spell to make the coat of paint get off, revealing her lavender fur.

Flim and Flam stared at her mouth-agape, dumbfounded. "Well, that sure is an elaborated disguise!" Flam said, making Twilight giggle.

"Thanks! Glad you like it," she replied.

"Oh, no! Thank YOU for your help with the resort! It's such a nice detail," Flim said.

"You're welcome!" Twilight said.

After saying goodbye to the brothers, Twilight got outside of the main building and stepped inside one of the hot air balloons, looking forward to tell her friends everything about Las Pegasus, and also about Flim and Flam.

Although Applejack would probably not believe it.
