Today is Christmas Eve. Your family always takes you to your cousin’s house for a family get-together. With food, movies and a place to have a good time, you always love your cousin, because of how supportive she is.
When you arrive at your cousin’s house, the first thing that’s on your mind is to play with your friends in the living room. Your cousin sees you as the most excited child out of all the children who were invited to her party. The adrenaline inside you made her really appreciate you more than you think. Year after year when you come to her house, it was one of the things that make her happy in the family she’s in.
The party continued for about an hour. In the next ten minutes, you along with your family will open a couple presents. You only get to open one or two presents tonight, while the rest or for tomorrow.
“Having fun?” Your cousin walking up to you from behind.
“I sure am.” You smiled. “And I can’t wait for the gifts I got. I’ve been a really good boy all year long.”
Your cousin knew you were going to say that. She always think ahead for the family she supports and what she has for you will be unlike anything you can ever imagine. “You are a good boy, just wait until what I have for you later.”
As she left her living room, you became thrilled. After all the years of the gifts you received from her, she has another surprise for you.
Your cousin then walks by your mother and father which they saw her talking to you. “Excuse me, can we talk for a moment?” Your father asked.
“Sure, what is it?” Your cousin wondered.
“What kind of gift you have for our son?”
Your cousin made sure that no one, even you are listening. “It’s a Christmas gift that must be kept secret until later.” She whispers into both of your parent's ears and when they heard the secret, they couldn’t believe it. It is so big, it’s not the same size, compared to the other gifts. Your parents agreed with your cousin to remind her secret for later. They know full well you are going to love it with a pure passion and it will keep you occupied for a long time.
The time of your family opening some of the gifts has come. Of course it’s a tradition that most families do during this occasion and they never skip it. The gift you got from one of your best friends is an Wonderbolt’s action figure, making it the fifth toy you have from the hit TV series.
“Thank you so much!” You cheered at your friends.
“Don’t mention it. We all have a passion from the TV show.” Your best friends smiled.
Your cousin was nowhere to be seen once in one of the rooms. She did give you and the family permission to start without her, but she kept something in the basement before the party started. “Hey, when is my cousin coming back?” You asked.
“She’ll be here any minute.” Your mother replied.
“She’s getting your gift.” Your father added.
Your patients remind as it is as you wonder what your getting from your cousin this year. The fact she always has something special for you behind closed doors, the mystery will always be surprising upon it’s reveal.
Your cousin took the time she needed to carry your gift up from her basement and into the main room where everyone is at. Once you saw her carrying your gift, you wouldn't believe how huge your gift is. It’s way bigger than the other ones your cousin gave you over the years. Soon all of your other friends and family members took notice at your cousin once she enters the room.
“I’m here, sorry I took so long, It was a pain to get this gift from my basement.” She painted.
Then the box shook suddenly, much to your surprise. “Is there an animal in there?” You wondered.
“Why don’t you check for yourself?” Your cousin then picked you up from the ground so you can reach your present from the top. You untie the wrapping as you open your gift until your cousin pulled you away.
The animal inside the box saw the light as it lifted her head out. She then saw you. Once you saw it for the first time, it wasn’t any kind of animal you saw in the animal stores you come across. It’s pink, it has antlers and the antlers also glow in the dark.
Everyone of the family expect your cousin and parents were shocked in disbelief. The animal that just flew out of her box as she lands on the ground.
“It’s a…it’s a…” One of your friends tried to finish their sentence to describe the animal until you replied.
“A Reindeer.”
“Merry Christmas!” Your cousin shouted.
Once she placed you back down, you slowly wake up to the reindeer. The reindeer isn’t shy whatsoever, she’s been waiting for this moment to happen once your cousin brought her from the store only she can find while no one else can. She smiled and giggled at your cute reaction as she gets on her knees.
“Do you have Christmas movies involving reindeers? I would be happy to watch them with you.” She spoke in a kind tone.
“Sure, what’s your name?” You asked.
“I’m Bori and your cousin told me everything about you.”
When you look back at your cousin, she also smiled at you. “I’ve been thinking about giving you a reindeer as a pet last year during the fall. I know it was challenging but it was worth it. You told me that you wanted a pet for yourself, well, here you go.”
You smiled with a tear coming down on your face. Out of all the gifts you received from her, this gift trumps all of them. You think of the activities you can do with Bori when you return home. You give your cousin a hug to which she accepted.
“When I get older, I’ll try my best to give you the gift you deserve. Your the best cousin in the world.”
“I know...I know.”
Bori and the family adore the moment between you and your cousin. While most of your friends are jealous, they still found your gift awesome. They can’t wait to play with you in the snow outside to see what your pet can do.
“Isn’t he the cutest son you ever had?” Bori asked your parents.
“He’s one in a million.” Your mother smiled.
“And your a one in a million as a pet.” Your father placed his hand on the reindeer’s head. Bori felt like she’s part of a family she’s been waiting for a long time. While it isn’t like the family she’s part of in her past, she knows full well to keep you company. That’s was she’s best at for being a pet.
The party at your cousin’s place is over, you say goodbye to your family and friends as you, your parents and of course your pet, Bori get inside the car so you can head back to your place. It was a great time to play with your new pet and the quantities she offered. Taking pictures with your pet and riding her outside was only the bits Bori can do. Of course you just got her tonight so it will take time for you to know everything about your pet.
When you return back home, you say good night to your parents and took your pet in your room. During you drive back home, she requested if you and her can watch a Christmas movie involving reindeers tonight, to which you agreed with.
Bori is relaxing on your mattress while after you finished brushing your teeth in the bathroom, you get the movie from your living room and head back to your bedroom. “I got the movie.” You walked in.
“Great, put it in!” Bori cheered. You put the movie in your DVD player and turn on your TV. You turn off your lights, get on your bed as you sat by your reindeer while the movie is preparing itself.
“You know something Bori.” You spoke to which your pet turned her head. “When I saw you for the first time, I never thought that that Santa also sells reindeers.”
Bori didn’t wanted to expose her whereabouts, but she knows what Santa is and knows that he doesn’t sell his reindeer at all. “Well here’s something you need to learn about Christmas. If your a really good boy throughout your life, you will get a reindeer that will always remind you that Santa sees you as a great child with a heart full of gold.”
You giggled from Bori’s complement. “Well thank you, I didn’t know I was that good.”
“You know what they say, Santa sees a lot in children every twelve months.”
As you and Bori enjoy the bond your developing, the Christmas movie begins. You and your pet paid attention to your TV to watch the whole movie. When reindeers appear on your screen, it made Bori squealed in happiness to watch her species in a movie. It makes her specials for being a reindeer and the good moments that happened in the film makes her more proud.
Somewhere towards the middle of the movie you begin to fall into slumber. It’s almost ten o’clock at night and you can only regain your energy in the morning. You tried to stay up to watch the movie with your pet but you lay at Bori’s side as you close your eyes.
Bori took notice as she paused the movie. She looked at you sleeping at her to which she adores. Even if it wasn’t intentional, she liked how humans cuddle her in such a sweet fashion. Bori used her antlers which caused them to glow pink in the dark. She uses them to press two buttons. The off button on your DVD player and your TV. She can wait in the morning to finish watching the movie with you. She then uses her antlers to tuck you in bed as she lays by you, keeping you warmer and happier that she’s your pet that will keep you occupied for a long time. She will be a pet that will remind you of your Reindeer Pal, especially during the holidays.
