The Truest of Loves

She had only arrived since an hour, but this little filly was already driving Tirek completely nuts. He could no longer stand her squeaks and falsely cheerful exclamations, but in here Tartarus, he really had no choice.

And so, as he was preparing to ignore her for yet another times, all of a sudden, a deep growl resounded from somewhere within the darkness of the cavern. It. He knew what this was, she didn't.

"What was that?" Cozy Glow immediately asked, her voice only slightly revealing how scared she truly was.

Tirek looked into the corner "You don't want to know." he grumbled, quickly diverting his gaze.

"I do!" the other insisted, her curiosity visibly rapidly taking over any remains of fear within her little mind.

"Just don't look there." Tirek repeated, giving another quick glance to the accursed corner, but immediately diverting his own gaze from it once again "It's nothing suited for your childish eyes. The pits of Tartarus are home to much worse creatures than myself…"

But Cozy Glow didn't listen. Driven by stubbornness and the unstoppable curiosity all fillies and foals are endowed with, she looked. And she saw it.

And it was beautiful. The most handsome of creatures from the whole of the Equestrian land stood there, in the dusk. It was magnificent. A one-mile-tall beauty, its face covered in the loveliest of tentacles, its skin the prettiest shade of murky gray.

There was no way she could stand such a spectacle. And deep within her compassionless heart, a heart that refused to see even friendship as more than a weapon, something awoken, shattering all the barriers of hatred and lies that had kept it sealed for so long to the tiniest of pieces. There was nothing in this land that could surpass this feeling. The lightheadedness, the passion, the love… They all mixed in her head.

Her heart was beating faster than ever, she could feel it trying to escape her chest and it seemed the object of her passions had also noticed her…

At first, he was mistrustful of that small pink thing that mortal guards had just deposited into his domain. He just couldn't understand what such a creature could do in Tartarus. It was strange.

But oh, he was so wrong. Because at the very second it had turned its little heard in his direction, he understood there was no mistrust to be had. There were other feelings however.

He might have been an Old God, but in the whole of his immeasurably long existence, never even once had Cthulhu felt something similar. It truly was an unrivaled feeling. He just couldn't put a giant tentacled finger of what it exactly was, but when he looked at that small pink pony, something deep within his essence just clicked.

He saw himself drowning in those deep bottomless eyes, he felt himself slowly drifting towards the sweet gates of ecstasy at the waves of this swirling hair, he felt himself overwhelmed with such limitless joy and passion that it almost seemed he was feeling the lack of oxygen despite never even having the need to breath from the very beginning of his endlessly long life.

Immediately, he rushed towards the one of his dreams. And Cozy Glow would have surely done the same if not for the small cage that let her unable to approach the subject of her passion any further.

And then, they united. In instants, the cage flew into pieces as did any of the remaining doubts they could have still had, because now, they were together.

United by a bond so strong that not even the Elements of Harmony could have destroyed it. So, blazingly passionate that not even the fires of Daybreaker herself could have compared to its heat. And so obsessive that there was nothing in this world that mattered anymore. Only them.

Holding each other in the tightest of embraces, there was nothing in this world that could have separated them.

So Cozy Glow went in for a kiss.

Cthulhu wasn't sure however. He let escape several embarrassed growls. His face was burning. He pushed her away a tiny bit.

Cozy Glow chuckled "Don't be silly! You're the most handsome of tentacle-covered creatures I have seen in my entire life, I'm sure you can find the strength for a kiss!"

The embarrassed growls returned with even greater intensity. Cthulhu turned his red face away.

"Come on! Don't be shy!" she insisted again, preparing her lips.

And so, battling in the greatest of wars against the complete chaos of feelings that reigned within his murky mind, Cthulhu finally found the strength to do it.

Somehow even redder than before, he leaned in. He leaned as low as he could to get the closest possible to the adorable face of this tiny pony. He prepared himself and, in the most beautiful of movements in the whole of Equestrian history, her lips touched with the eldritch mess of tentacles that served as his mouth.

It wasn't the best of kisses. A first kiss among many first kisses. As novice as thousands of others before and even more after, but it was far greater in another aspect.

The feelings that it conveyed were immeasurable. The passion, the love, the immense ecstasy that erupted within the minds of both creatures as their mouths touched. It was unparalleled by anything in the whole of Equestria and even the universe.

It was the birth of true love.

Such love that it seemed to overwhelm even the universe itself. Such love that even Princess Mi Amore Cadenza would have been jealous. Such love that there was nothing that could have surpassed it…

And it was the love between a tiny Pegasus and an Eldritch God. Because no matter what, love always finds a way.

Meanwhile, Tirek observed the scene from his own cage. And as he did, his own head swirled with emotions. He was disgusted to be sure. After all, he never was into this kind of things, but despite it all, he could feel it. There was something in that duo of truly beautiful. There was such passion in their eyes, such strong feelings in their actions.

It was strange, but it was magnificent. The most beautiful thing he had ever witnessed in his millennia-long life… It was true love.
