//------------------------------// // 1-2 // Story: Super Paper Scootaloo // by emeraldhuskydragon0 //------------------------------// The three appeared in front of a mountain. Tippi flew forwards. “The pure heart is somewhere beyond this mountain... but it is still very far...” “Well, what are we waiting for!?” Scootaloo exclaims. “Let’s g- hey, what’s that?” Scootaloo flips and disappears. “Scootaloo?” Tippi asks after a while. Scootaloo reappears next to a tall mound, panting. “Well... now I know what old man whatsaface meant by stay flipped for too long you take damage. I also found a secret path. Follow me!” The three of them flip to 3D and see what Scootaloo meant. The large hill was flat, and there was a path behind it. The three ran down the path now tunnel to find a door. “Oh. A door.” Tippi said. The three went through the door. As soon as they got out the other side, they fell a few feet onto hard stone. “It is a secret entrance further into the mountain!” Tippi said. Scootaloo nodded. “Yep, now onward!” Scootaloo said. They climbed up the mountain onto two long strips of block. “Uh oh...” Scootaloo said, looking up. Directly above them was the first strip. “How are we gonna get up here?” She asked. “Having a problem? Try flipping.” Tippi suggested. Scootaloo and Mario flipped, and lo and behold, the first strip was not directly above them. They could also see a block sneakily hidden behind the second strip. Scootaloo hit the block and a line snaked out of it. Flipping back into 2D, the two flightless members of the party climbed the ladder. “Wow, that’s a lot of coins!” Scootaloo said as she looked at the coin littered cloud line. She ran across the clouds grabbing every one. “Wait... can you walk on clouds Mario?” Scootaloo asked. Mario nodded and followed Scootaloo, with Tippi trailing after. They soon came to an end of the clouds. Tippi looked down. “Well, I can see a door. You might want to flip when you land though, as there seems to be some spiny tromps rolling down the way up.” Tippi observes. Mario jumps down and flips into 3D, and Scootaloo follows. They reach the door and head through. They come across a chasm to large to jump over and a pipe. In the distance, there is another pipe and a house. Mario looks at the pipe next to him and at the pipe in the distance. He jumps down the pipe and reappears out of the pipe in the distance. He waved at Scootaloo and Tippi, then goes into the house. A minute or two later, a bridge appears over the chasm and Mario jumps out of the pipe next to Scootaloo. “Woah! Where’s that bridge come from?” Scootaloo asks. Mario explains that a guy in the house was stuck so when he helped him, the guy fixed the bridge. “Well, lets go...” Tippi says. The three cross the bridge with ease. They enter a small village. “Hold up! That block formation! It’s suspicious! Let’s go explore!” Scootaloo says excitedly. She flips and finds a pipe behind it. A short while later, she comes back out. “I found a lot of coins in there!” She says. “Hey Scootaloo, I can see the teleport box over there. Let’s go...” Tippi says. Scootaloo nods and follows after Tippi... who stops suddenly. “Oh dear... there’s another chasm...” she says. Good thing for them, there is another pipe like earlier. Mario jumps into the pipe again, but comes back with a shrug. He explains we need permission from high up to get the bridge lowered. “Aw man! Now we have to go on a fetch quest?! Where is the mayor’s house?” Scootaloo says, exasperated. She goes into a house with a weird fork shaped roof, and Mario and Tippi follow. “Is the mayor down there?” She mumbles to herself as she looks at a pipe behind a fence. “I guess so, as it’s hidden and stuff.” She climbs over the fence and jumps down the pipe. Exiting the pipe, which was more like a slide going underground, she sees a bunch of crusher looking things. Mario and Tippi exit the pipe. “Oh dear. Look at all these thwomps. How are gonna-“ Tippi get cut off when Scootaloo flips and goes behind the crushers, as it turns out they were flat. Mario and Tippi follow Scootaloo in through a door. In the room that the door was nothing but a star on the wall. “Where is... oh wait.” Scootaloo cuts herself off again. She yanks down a sheet with a star on it and the same pattern as the wall to reveal... a door. “Wow, this mayor must be very important to have so much protection.” “Yeah...” Tippi says as the three head through the door. They step out into a larger room with a giant chest, a block, and a switch on the ceiling. Suddenly, bars appear over the door trapping the three in the room! “Oh no... the door...” Tippi says. Scootaloo gasps. “It’s a trap!” Scootaloo shouts. Mario on the other hand opens the chest, revealing nothing. He peeks into the chest. “SWEET FREEDOM!” Someone from inside the chest says. “Wait a moment... if I have been set free, the legendary heroes must have done it!” A square with five circles hovering over the square and two eyes on the square floats out of the box. “You’re a weird looking butterfly...” Scootaloo says. “I’m not a butterfly, silly! I’m a Pixl! My name? Thoreau! I will join your party, great heroes! I can help you by grabbing and throwing like really heavy stuff!” *Thoreau joined your team.* “Now we can throw that box at the switch to get out of here!” Scootaloo says triumphantly. Thoreau grabs the box and smashes it against the switch and the bars blocking the door disappear. “Glorious day!” Thoreau cries. “Now, to infinity and beyond!” The team of four leaves the underground rooms and back into daylight. “So, I guess the next house is the mayor’s?” Tippi suggests. The now quartet enters the last house on the row. “Whoozit?! I’m the elder around here so watch it!” Cries an old voice. “What do ye want? Get off me rug!” “We need the bridge to be brought down.” Scootaloo says flatly. “Nothin but desert past here. There’s treasure, but you’ll get sand on everything. That’s what Yold Town is for, to keep treasure safe from YOU. So watch it!” “We’re the heroes!” Scootaloo announces proudly. “Whuzzat!? Whizzit!? You lot are the heroes!? RUBBISH! If you were, ye would have a Pixl shaped like a hand...” Old man Watchitt suddenly notices Thoreau. “Oi! Ye lot do!? Course ye do! You’re the heroes! Knew it all along. I’ll give that Green feller a call. He’ll let you cross.” He pulls out a phone and types something. “Go talk to Green at the edge of town. Now get off me rug!” The quartet scramble out of the house and to the pipe. Mario nods and jumps in, appearing on the other side. He enters the house. A short while later however, Mario is flung out of the chimney of the house and lands headfirst into a tree. “Mario!” Scootaloo and Tippi cry in unison. Mario slides out of the tree with his hand on his head. He shakes his head and glares at the house. “Are you okay Mario!?” Scootaloo asks. Mario nods and starts walking towards the bridge. Scootaloo and Tippi look at each other then follow. They come upon another rainbow box. “Can I do it?” Scootaloo asks. Mario nods. Scootaloo buzzes her wings and jumps, hitting the box with her hoof.
