//------------------------------// // Revealing True Colors // Story: The Union of Evil // by TheClownPrinceofCrime //------------------------------// A full day has past since the treacherous trio started to spread division, hatred, and distrust amongst the ponies. It felt good to be one step ahead of everypony, for they have been waiting to exact their revenge on their enemies. It was nightfall with the full moon shining in the horizon. The Legion of Doom returned after completing the first step of their villainous work. They were smug about their accomplishment. “That was just perfect! These ponies are clueless to what’s happening!” Tirek gloated. “They will soon feel helpless once we tear apart their home and their kingdom!” “It is all part of the plan,” said Chrysalis. “Turning the ponies against each other will only serve as our advantage over them. By weakening their friendship with one another, the Magic of Friendship will be wiped out! Because with friendship, they’ll defeat us again!” “Yep!” Cozy agreed. “They’ll be defenseless against us! But I am concerned though about Grogar finding out about our treachery. You know how powerful he is. If he finds out, he will—.” “We will deal with him first!” Chrysalis interrupted. “Without his bell, he is powerless. We have the book with info on his bell. We can learn how to utilize it to overthrow him! It’ll be so satisfying!” “Which is why we must master the bell before Grogar returns,” said Tirek. “I don’t trust him, and I never have! I’m not gonna allow that old windbag to tell me what to do. But I am willing to have all that magic in his bell.” he finished with an evil smirk. “Yeah, who cares about his ‘master plan’ anyway? We’ll take Equestria our way! Hahahahaha!!” Cozy wickedly laughed. “Indeed. We have all the time in the world to learn more of Grogar’s bell.” Chrysalis said. As they finished conversing, they went back to Grogar’s lair. They looked around to see if Grogar was at home. When they didn’t see him in his chambers, they were relieved. They hoped that he didn’t return yet... or so they thought. As they seated around their meeting table, they began to discuss their progress. Chrysalis levitated the book with her magic on the table to open its pages. “I am certain there will be useful information about that bell. I can imagine what spells or secrets this book will reveal!” Chrysalis exclaimed. As she opened the book, she discovered that the words on the pages were in a different language...a language neither she nor her comrades understood. As they kept reading the pages and trying to understand what was written, they started to become irritated and confused. “I don’t understand any of this!” complained Tirek. “I thought this would be written in ponish, not in this language! I can barely read them out loud!” “Maybe it’s because it was only for the ancient ponies or creatures like Grogar?” Cozy guessed. “Ridiculous!” Chrysalis scoffed. “Not even they would be able to understand this language! Plus, I seriously doubt that old goat would intentionally place a spell on this book so nopony would understand it! Besides, I’m sure he would need this book to learn more of his bell.” “Then we’ll just have to find another way to activate the bell like using your magic or Tirek’s magic! That could work!” Cozy suggested. Tirek and Chrysalis thought for a moment. “Hmmm, you know...that could work. But first we’ll need to destroy this useless book so Grogar won’t use it.” Tirek said. “Definitely!” both Cozy and Chrysalis eagerly agreed. Tirek then took the book and blasted it with his magic. The pages fell to the ground in dust and ashes. The villains laughed in satisfaction. “Excellent! That old fool will never be able to regain his magic back from his bell!” Chrysalis boasted. “Absolutely. I’ll get the bell. It’s time for us to start practicing,” said Tirek. As he walked over to one of the book shelves where he previously hid the bell behind it before they left, he noticed something strange...the bell was gone. Confused, he walked over to the other shelf and as he looked behind the shelf, it wasn’t there either. He went to his chambers to see if it was there. Again, no bell in sight. Then he started to worry. “Cozy, Chrysalis... did you hide the bell somewhere?” he called out to them from his room. “Nope, not me.” Cozy denied. “Not me neither.” Chrysalis also denied. “THEN WHERE IS IT?!?” he screamed in anger and frustration. Chrysalis and Cozy looked at each other puzzled. “Didn’t you hide it behind that shelf over there?” Cozy asked. “I did! I checked everywhere! It’s gone!!” Tirek yelled. Then the females started to panic. The trio made sure that the bell wouldn’t be seen by Grogar while they were gone. With the bell missing, they’ll have no means to take over Equestria or to betray Grogar. “This is impossible!! You were supposed to hide it from plain sight, you overgrown muscle head!!” Chrysalis berated Tirek. “Grogar’s bell is the only means of destroying our enemies! How could you lose it?!?” “Hey, I never mess up simple things like this! I KNOW that it was right behind that shelf! I put it there myself! So don’t you dare accuse me of being that incompetent, you log-loving, cheese-legged bug!” Tirek snapped back. “CHEESE-LEGGED?! How dare you! Don’t you even dare mention about my log, you fool!” she said gritting her teeth in anger. “Why don’t you just cry to your gram-gram in your dreams and whine how that your brother Scorpan is better than you.” she finished with a smirk. Tirek widened his eyes and bellowed in anger, “DO NOT TALK OF MY GRAM-GRAM! And leave my brother out of this!” As they continued arguing with each other, Cozy flew in between them and pushed them from each other to break up their fight. “That’s enough, you two! Stop fighting and focus! We have a bigger problem here.” she admonished them. “We need to figure out where Grogar’s bell is before he comes back.” Tirek and Chrysalis reluctantly yielded and calmed themselves down from their fight. “Good! Now we just need to figure out what exactly happened.” said Cozy. “I HAPPENED!!” bellowed a familiar voice. The three villains immediately recognized the voice and its owner. They shakily looked up to see Grogar menacingly walk out of the shadows from on top of the podium which was above the crystal ball. He stood before them with his Bewitching Bell finally attached to his collar. The trio, shocked and surprised, trembled at his presence. “Does my unexpected return answer your question, little one?” he asked Cozy. “Ye-y-y-y-ye-yes, it does...” she replied with fear soaking her voice. Grogar then activated his horns and blasted his magical bonds to bind them to the wall like he did to them before. The villains struggled to free themselves. “NOOO! It can’t be! How did you discover your bell and our plan to betray you?!” asked Tirek. “Did you fools really think that I would be foolish enough to believe your words that you couldn’t retrieve my bell from Mt. Everhoof? Haven’t you remembered that I can see everything with my crystal ball and overhear everything you say wherever you go?” Grogar taunted them. The trio looked astonished with faces that read, “Why haven’t I thought of that?” Relishing their looks of defeat, he continued, “Playing along was the best way to deceive you. Of course, thank you for retrieving my bell. I wouldn’t have reached to this level of triumph without you.” he evilly smiled. “This is not supposed to end like this!! I was so close to exact my revenge on Starlight Glimmer!! I was so—!!” Chrysalis’ mouth was abruptly shut by Grogar’s magic. “SILENCE!!” he commanded. “Now then, you three, I thank you for your time here. You are no longer of any use to me. You have gotten what I needed. But Equestria will not be mine alone to take.” “What do you mean?” Cozy asked curiously. “Why, I’m glad you asked. Remember that book which you destroyed? That language I encrypted was a location code that you activated by destroying it. Now, my true friends will arrive, and Equestria will finally be ours for the taking!” he stated with wicked exultation. “You have other friends? That book was actually a trap? You really planned all of this?!” Tirek exclaimed. “Yes indeed.” Grogar replied. “Please! Don’t destroy us!! We’ll do anything for you! ANYTHING!!” Cozy begged. At that moment, she wasn’t acting. She actually cried and begged for mercy. “Oh don’t worry, this will only hurt... a lot.” Grogar answered sadistically. He levitated in the air with his magic and activated his bell. The bell rang with an loud clang followed by an echo. It then sent three waves of glowing black and yellow magic that were sent straight at the trio. The waves then began to drain them of their magic while they screamed in pain. Tirek lost his second form, reverting him back to his skinny, weakened form; Cozy lost her ability to fly; and Chrysalis lost her magic (including shape-shifting abilities). After the waves returned to the bell, the villains lied on the ground weakened and defeated. Grogar triumphantly stood before his former minions. “Now you understand my true power. Speaking of conquest, I must thank you for doing all the hard work for me. Now the Magic of Friendship will never be able to defeat me.” Grogar mockingly commended. “This...this isn’t over, Grogar.” Chrysalis groaned while trying to get up on her hooves. “We will have our revenge.” “Revenge, Chrysalis? Hahaha!! I think not.” he chuckled. As if on cue, a loud explosion erupted from outside the cavern. Suddenly, the bird-like creature which spied on them earlier flew through one of the giant holes that appeared as nostrils of the lair. It landed on top of one of Grogar’s horns. Its yellow eyes glowed brightly, intimidating the villains. Right behind them, a huge purple portal opened. The weakened trio beheld a tall figure walking toward them. The more it walked, the more it grew bigger and bigger once it got closer to view. After the portal closed, the trio then looked at the figure and became astonished beyond imagination. They had never seen this creature before or a different species NOT from Equestria... until now. The being was a titan; it had a glowing purple chest compartment with a strange scary-looking insignia in the center; it was dark blue all around with purple lights all over his chassis; it also had a red visor, mouth plate, and a strange weapon attached to his right shoulder to their left. Overall, it appeared to be a mechanical alien life form. “I am honored to introduce to you my undercover friend of mine... Soundwave!” Grogar proudly introduced. “THE PLEASURE IS MINE.” Soundwave spoke in his monotone, mechanical tone. “SOUNDWAVE SUPERIOR, EQUESTRIA INFERIOR.”
