Chapter 2

“We know they have an encampment about 10 miles away from our current location. There is another one 5 miles away from that.” Hex said. “Luna if we send two regiments to take the camp, we can resupply there and take weapons and food from them.”

Luna looked at the map trying to decipher what would be the best move for her weakened group. “But this camp that’s farther down, they are the ones who are giving the closer camp all of the supplies.” Luna said. “If we go to farther camp, wouldn’t we be able to wipe out their supply line and make it easier to take the other camp.”

“While that may be true, the extra traveling will make our troops too fatigued for battle. What we could do is meet---“ Hex was cut off by a frantic Linus.

“Luna! Luna I got him, but he’s injured pretty bad. I did what I could but he needs more healing power than what I can give him. Please Luna, I didn’t go out there just to have him die on our doorstep.” Linus said frantically.

“Put him down on the bed over there.” Luna said, pointing to an empty bed. Linus rushed over to the bed and gently placed Blaze on the bed.

“Luna, please. Help him.”

“I will Linus, now go sit down and take some sips of water. How long were you traveling with him on your back?” Luna asked as she worked on Blaze.

“Three hours. He’s been out for two.” Linus replied as he took a few sips of water.

“Ok then. Well the good news is that he’s only unconscious. The bad news, however, is that I don’t know how long he will be out. Did he say anything about what was going on in the prison?” Luna asked. She was stressed from all the battle plans she had to make. She was glad to have Blaze back. They would need his explosive expertise if her plan was to work.

“He did say something about wanting to talk to you. He said something about having information. I don’t know about what though. He blacked out before he could say more.” Linus said.

“Linus. Did you see any weaknesses in the surrounding fortifications of that place?” Hex asked. He had stayed quiet throughout the entire talk between the others. He wasn’t much talk for anything but strategy and battle tactics.

“What? You mean other than the giant hole Blaze put into the building? I swear you give this pony a rock and paper he could create a bomb large enough to fit a full sized buffalo.” Linus said. “That place is a fort. The only way in, besides that giant hole, is through the front entrance. It sits in plain sight, with the guards rotating every 30 minutes. They have scouts on top of the roof that keep an eye out on all the activity that happens below. They walk past every 5 minutes.” Linus explained in full detail.

“And you got in there with only a blowgun and a few darts?” Hex asked, clearly confused.

“Hex, I’m the top class assassin of this army. It was like taking candy from a foal.” Linus said, boastfully.

“Yea. Linus here could sneak past anyone in broad daylight. Moving in the night is like second nature to him.” Blaze said, awake from his stupor.

“Blaze! Thank Celestia you are all right. Hell I should be thanking Luna! If it wasn’t for her, you wouldn’t be here now!” Linus exclaimed.

“Really? Well, thank you Princess Luna. I really appreciate it.” Blaze said weakly. “Luna, I have information. About supply shipments from Canterlot to a nearby camp.” Blaze said. Luna hushed him.

“You can tell me later. Right now you need to rest. You have a really bad head injury.” Luna said. “No, Luna, it can’t wait. They know we are here. They know that you are planning something. Luna, there’s a mole here. Somepony has been feeding Chrysalis information on Aureolians movements.” Blaze said. He was close to unconsciousness now.

“Blaze, quiet now. You need to rest.” Luna said. She was disturbed about who the mole could be.

“Linus, I know you just got back, and that you do need rest. But after you sleep, can you go around and look for anypony who looks suspicious? I plan on making an announcement tomorrow morning about this mole. Maybe he will blow his cover.” Luna said.

“Sure Luna. I’ll go around tomorrow and see what I can do.” Linus said, exhausted after the nights ordeal. “He’ll be ok though. Right?” He asked looking at Blaze.

“Don’t worry Linus. He’ll be fine. He just needs to rest tonight. I’ll have a healer come in and check on him regularly.” Luna replied. “But I am curious as to who the mole is. And how he learned of this information. It’s disturbs me greatly.” Luna said as she pondered about what she had learned tonight. “Hex, you may go. We will figure out what to do with the supply routes tomorrow.” Luna ordered.

Both Linus and Hex left the tent. Luna told Linus to send a healer up here so that she could tend to Blaze. She was still worried and shook up about the mole in the army. She could read the thoughts of everypony in the army, but it wouldn’t do much good. Whoever the mole was probably has a spell on them to hide certain thoughts.

Luna was completely lost on this situation. In order for her plan to work, the Leasath would not be allowed to know of any of the details. Dear sister. Why did you save me? Why didn’t you save yourself? You are the stronger one, the one who had more magical ability. You would know what to do with the mole. Luna thought to herself. She found herself thinking of Celestia a lot lately. She missed her, more than anything. But she had a hatred for Chrysalis, for the Leasath, for all the changelings.

The healer arrived and was told to stay and watch Blaze to make sure all his vital signs stay normal and that he is ready for the next day. “Make sure he stays on the ground. I was able to mend his leg, but his wing is something that will be sore for a few days. He needs to be able to fly tomorrow night.” Luna added. She was going to need his help. Desperately.
