“Another hard day I would take it Shining armor?” asked the monotone voice that belonged to the ex-King of the Crystal Empire, Sombra, to the very clearly tired unicorn stallion with bags around his eyes as he entered his room.
“Yeah, I can’t even remember the last time I had a decent sleep,” he said just flopping on Sombra without a second thought and let out a cute sound of relief at how good it felt. “Flurry won’t stop teleporting and crying and it wears a stallion out. I’m just glad my son was born a pegasus.”
“Well I do try to help with that when I can with my limited magic,” Sombra responded with a chuckle behind it, and Shining chuckled as we well.
“Trust me, I noticed and I have appreciated each time you do it and… I am just so glad you're here, I can’t even figure out what things would be like without you around.”
“Oh really now? And why would that be? I don’t think I do that much, besides just stay in my room you were nice enough to give me,” he replied, giving the white Stallion a curious expression.
“What? You have done a lot for me I don’t...even think my marriage would still be going without you around to talk to,” Shining said smiling and Sombra smirked in return.
“Well I am quite flattered you feel that way, but I doubt I did that much.”
And then Shining fell silent and his smile faded and he looked away.
“Well, you know things between me and her have been ... complicated the past few years.”
And then Sombra decided to lie down on the bed as well and let him finish.
“I mean, I know all the conflicts we had in the past we got through but...I don’t... I am just feeling… Just feeling…:”
“Invisible?” Sombra finished, and Shining after a few seconds looked back at the ex-tyrant
“...Yeah. I wanted that feeling to stop and for some reason, I thought having foals could somehow change something and keep that strong love that other ponies were inspired to find in their own lives. And for a while it worked, and I felt we were the perfect couple again like others thought we were but...now I don’t know what we are....” he said sighing a little, and Sombra just kept looking at him calm as ever.
“So does that mean you regret having kids, if you felt things just got worse?”
“W-what? N-no! I love my two kids, I really do, there is not a moment in time where I regret that choice… It's just hard to know where to go from with my marriage and I’m not sure what to do anymore.”
And then Shining looked down at himself and Sombra simply put his hoof on his chin and brought his head up again to look at him.
“Well, Shining, I have been around you long enough to know you’ll figure it out. I mean, you’re not captain of the royal guard for nothing. And I am sure when the time comes, you will make the right choice.”
The two stared at each other for a few seconds, and Shining soon felt himself starting and felt a warm feeling inside his chest, something he has felt around Sombra for a while now that he couldn’t really explain.
“Wow, thanks Sombra. I really needed to hear that, that really made my day.” And Sombra just smiled back in return finding himself always feeling glad to see the other Stallion smile.
“Of course I will always be here to help, Shining. I mean, what are friends for after all?~”
Hearing that made Shining chuckle.
“Wow! That was the corniest thing you have ever said! I think my sister reformed you too well.”
“Perhaps. But when you have something like this, it was hard to pass up~” he said with the two laughing, and then there was silence as Shining started gazing into the other Stallion’s eyes. He wasn’t sure what was happening, but in this one moment he felt something felt right in his life and started closing the gap between the two of them and then pulled the ex-tyrant into a kiss.
It wasn’t a short kiss, either. It was very passionate as he held Sombra’s body close, and this was a surprise to the dark unicorn. But he didn’t seem to mind one bit as he returned the prince's affection, moving his hoof on the back of Shining’s head to make the kiss feel as intimate as he could and soon the blue hair unicorn returned that sentiment.
It was truly a sight to behold. The new prince of the Crystal Empire in a fierce kissing session with the ex-king of Dark. The two moaning deeply as they started to explore each others mouths and bodies forgetting about the world around them, the only thing mattering was this moment in time.
Unfortunately for them, the world came rushing back as their kiss finally stopped and Shining Armor tried to process this moment.
“W-what did we just… Oh gosh!!!” he yelled out as he moved away from Sombra and stood up on the bed, looking away from panicking to himself.
“N-no ...that ...that did not happen I did not just…..” he couldn’t finish as his mind started racing of how this was all wrong, and on top of that was that he enjoyed that a lot. But those worries started to fade away as Sombra stood up and pulled him back close to him
“Shhhh…. It’s okay.” he gently said in his ear with a voice that was deep and soothing that Shining couldn’t help but feel comfortable in his embrace. “It was just a kiss nothing, she needs to know about. We were just caught up in the moment that’s all,” he said, although his feelings said something else but he wanted this moment to be as delicate as he could make it. It seemed to be working as Shining Armor started to relax on his chest which could also stem for the very emotionally tiring day he just had along with Sombra using the little magic he was allowed to have to have to cast a small spell to relax his mind.
“Y-yeah… You're right I...I just need s-some sleep to calm my nerves”
“Yeah I am sure once you wake up later everything will be much more clear to you~” he said, bringing the unicorn down back down on the bed. While Shining couldn’t think of much right now he did yawn, smile and said the only thing on his mind.
“T-thanks. I really don’t know what I would do without you.”
“The feeling is Mutal….. Shiny.~”
And with that Shining fell asleep cuddling close to Sombra who just looked at him and found him adorable when he slept. That kiss was a selfish thing he knew that well,but with his current situation and how he has never bonded so close to anyone like this he hoped Shining armor will be selfish much more often.
