//------------------------------// // Chapter 9 - Virtuous Vestibule of Void. // Story: Voidic and The Chamber of Secrets // by lightningman //------------------------------// As everyone walked into the classroom, including the teachers, I decided to make a dramatic entrance. I took a deep breath and began to try to make my void magic seem like an actual mist that expanded onto the floor of the classroom. I opened my eyes and noticed that it was working, it was actually quite thick, so i quickly activated Shadow Walk and got to the front of the class and ended it, I slowly stood up and the mist swirled around me until it disappeared and everyone except Dumbledore and Snape began clapping. I laugh. "Thank you, thank you all." I tapped on the board and Summer Homework quickly popped up on it. "Let's hop right into it, who here has been practicing their void magic at home during the summer?" Almost everyone held up their hands. "Alright, good job to those that did. But to those that didn't, I'm sorry that I forgot to mention that not practicing with void magic will lessen your capabilities with it unfortunately. It's meant to be used." I basically just repeated what I told Molly this summer. "So what you guys will be doing this class is practicing your void magic until your back to normal, everyone else will continue on with the lessons. Got it?" They nodded and I showed them to where they would be practicing their void magic. As I came back into the classroom, I began to get them onto their Void Lore. We had already covered Blink, Possession, and Bend Time. I would probably not be teaching them about the passive skills like reflexes and Shadow Kill, they could figure those out on their own. Devouring Swarm, Windblast, Void Gaze, Summon Assassin, Pull, Arcane Bond, Domino, Doppelganger, Far Reach, Mesmerize and Shadow Walk were some of the things That I were going to try to teach them this year. It would be a time crunch, but I think we could get it done. I also haven't covered Displace, foresight, semblance or Rat Whispers yet. Those would have to be during some of the classes with the main powers. Oh! I also forgot to introduce them to BloodBriars, Thorns, Grave Hounders, or Stoneflesh yet. I should actually introduce those this class before I get them onto their first power of the year, Which I decided should be Doppelganger. That would be the least dangerous of them all. We might do summon assassin in two classes. The test for doppelganger will be next class. Alright, so far, a good schedule to go on. Two powers a month. With nine months, that a month and a half of free time to fill in. "Alright everyone, This class will begin with introducing you to some dangerous Void objects. And then you'll all get access to the Doppelganger power, which you'll be tested on in your next class." I turned to the board and wrote down Bloodbriars as well as a picture. "This is a Bloodbriar, They are semi sentient, which means that if you get too close to them, they will grab and attack you. Think of them as a void version of Devil's Snare. Only you can't get rid of it with fire or sunlight. The only way to get rid of them is to get rid of the person who summoned them. I will not be teaching you the power to summon them, you'll have to figure it out on your own. " Next I put up the word Thorns. "Now, this is another Void power that I will not be teaching you, It allows you to fire off dart-like projectiles from your marked hand. and they can be deflected with a solid object if you have the Reflexes perk." I then put up Grave Hounders. "These little fuckers are dead wolfhounds that have been brought back to life. Yes, you can bring things back to life through the void, but if you do it without the permission of the master of the void, then they turn out corrupted like these guys. The reason you can bring things back to life because of the void is because the void is a kind of purgatory while heaven and hell are sorting everything, so people can only be brought back to life for a short time before they are sorted into the afterlife. You don't have to worry about these guys though, we are the only ones with access to void magic, so unless one of you decides to be an idiot and try to make one of these guys, in which case your powers will immediately be taken away, these guys are extinct in this dimension. But if you meet one, god help you, these annoying little bitches are annoying to kill." "And next, is Stoneflesh, another power I refuse to teach you." I put up a picture. "While true, the one imprisoned in it will have no concept of time and will be in a state of suspended animation. That just means that those that deserve imprisonment and get imprisoned by this, it defeats the whole point of imprisonment. So I won't even get into it at all. That and I'm too lazy to continue this lecture. So let's get into Doppleganger." All the students cheered a bit as they raised their hands and I shared the power. "Alright. So what you'll be tested on next week is the similarities to you, so if half of your clone looks like he suffered through a mild stroke, points will be taken off. And you'll also be judged on it's intelligence. So if it takes a few seconds before verbal instructions kick in, then points will be taken off, but if your clone can act on it's own, then points will be added. Now get to work." I said as everyone got up and started working on their powers. I smiled and went to check on the others. They were about halfway their recovery when I came back. I helped them through the rest of it and then caught them up to where everyone else was.
