Turmoil
Chapter 2
Rainbow Dash was flying loops over Rarity as she approached Twilight's tree and with each step she felt more and more like it was a bad idea to be telling anypony about her relationship with Rainbow.
"Rainbow dear could you come down here?" asked Rarity some fear in voice causing it to shake.
"Sure no prob' Rar." Replied Rainbow landing elegantly next to Rarity.
"I'm not so sure I can do this Dashie I thought I could but now we're so close and I'm just so scared..."
"It's still your choice hon." said Rainbow looking deflated.
For Rarity just hearing Rainbow call her by a pet name gave her a small burst of courage just enough for her to choke out,
"Okay well I said I would and I'm a mare of my word let's go..." her voice trailed off as she finally accepted that she had to go through with it if not for her than for Rainbow. So Rarity with a knot in her throat and Rainbow with butterflies in her stomach they walked through to door of Twilight's house.
"Hey Rainbow, Hey Rarity how's it going?" asked Twilight
Rarity still being extremely scared and just worried about how many ways this could go wrong said nothing so Rainbow came to her rescue saying
"Oh not much we just stopped by to say hello."
"The both of you?" she asked just curious
"Yes! Why is that weird just two friends saying hi to another friend?" exclaimed Rarity drawing a look from Twilight
"What... no of course not relax Rarity no need to be so tense, hold on I'll get us all some tea and snacks."
Twilight turned and trotted into the kitchen and the two mares stared at the door until they were certain she was gone.
"Well that was smooth wasn't it." said Rainbow grinning at Rarity as she walked over to a cushion on the floor.
"I'm sorry darling I'm just nervous."
"Well when she comes back are you going to tell her or am I?"
"I-I think I will actually maybe it'll help me fell better about telling the others."
"Are you sure Rar'?"
"Yes" she said as she nuzzled Rainbow affectionately.
A few seconds after they pulled apart Twilight walked back in a tray held by a purple haze in tow.
"Well here we are girls." she said with a smile.
"That looks great Dear." said Rarity with a forced smile.
"So what's the real reason you decided to stop in here?" asked twilight
"Well ummm....I....well....we....I mean Rainbow Dash and I.....well..." Rarity couldn't get herself to say but she looked over at Rainbow who was giving her a warm reassuring smile and said, "Well to put it bluntly me and Dashie are dating."
Twilight was taken back and couldn't think of anything to say. She stood and walked over to the window and just stared out it leaving Rarity and Rainbow worried.
'Oh no.' thought Rarity 'I was Right all along they won't like us anymore.' she started to panic and was on the verge of a "worst possible thing" moment when Twilight suddenly turned and said.
"Well that definitely not what I had expected from this visit....but I want you both to know that I support you both and that this won't change anything between us even though this is quite....different." Twilight finished the awkward sentence that relieved some of the stillness of the room and then Rarity spoke
"Really? Oh wow that is such a relief... I was so worried that you would hate us after we told you." as she finished she felt tears form in her eyes

"Hey Rar' what's wrong?" Rainbow asked noticing her loves tears
"Oh nothing I'm just so happy!" she replied as she pulled a hoof across her face to wipe them away as she did Rainbow walked over to her and hugged her smiling as she did so.
Rainbow whispered into Rarity's ear, "I love you"
Rarity rather then reply with words kissed Rainbow, and they left Twilight standing there awkwardly as they held the kiss for some time. When they broke apart they turned to Twilight and apologized for their "behavior". After some time, tea and, talking they left knowing that their secret was safe as long as they needed it to be and they left to go and tell their next friend , Applejack.
They left Twilight's house smiling and walking close together down the road towards Sweet Apple Acres. they took their time savoring the beautiful scenery with each other and just enjoying each other in general. After about a fifteen minute walk they arrived at the earth pony's farm and were greeted by Apple Bloom
"Howdy ya'll whats gotcha ya up here?"
"We would like to see your older sister Apple Bloom is she here?" asked Rarity politely.
"Uhh yea she's out buckin though."
"Oh well we could come back another time." said Rarity
"She'll be back soon she left lil' over an hour ago."
"Then we'll wait." Rainbow said.
"Alrighty then I'll tell her to go see you when she gets back"
"Thanks Apple Bloom."
"Yes thank you dear."
"No problem."
Rainbow and Rarity sat outside the barn chatting as they waited for Applejack to show up, and after about thirty minutes they could hear her trot up from behind the barn.
"Well howdy ya two, what brings ya'll up to Sweet Apple Acres today?"
"We have something to tell you that's kind of difficult for us well for me to say." Rarity said with a lot more confidence then she had when she had spoke to Twilight.
"Actually Rar' I wanna tell her." Rainbow said
"Oh alright then Dashie."
"Tell me what now?" ask AppleJack
"Well me and Rarity are together now." Rainbow said happily.
"Oh....well umm I normally don't approve of....fillyfoolers."
"Oh Rainbow I told you this would happen! I knew somepony was going to be upset with this!" tear again formed in Rarity's eyes and she started to sob. Rainbow on the other hand was shocked at AppleJack's response
"What's so wrong with being a fillyfooler AppleJack?" she shouted, "Have they ever done anything to hurt you our your family? Not to mention we're your friends and we would do anything to help you no matter what I mean.....!" but she was cut off by AppleJack who said
"Now wait jus a minute, I said normally I don't approve of fillyfoolers but I reckon that for you two I'd have to make an exception and maybe give em a chance now settle down ya hear?"
Rarity who had been sobbing in the background was still nervous and said with her trademark pout, "Really you'd do that for me and rainbow?"
"Why o'course I would your my friends ain't ya?"
"Well yes..."
"Then just relax because I won't let something like this come 'tween us okay Rarity?"
"I guess that makes sense"
Rainbow chose this time to apologize for her outburst,
"Hey uh AppleJack sorry about my umm episode back there I just didn't want to see Rarity get hurt and I got defensive."
"Oh don't worry sugar cube I can see why you did it I might've in yer position too."
"Well thanks for you know being how accepting you are."
"No problem... who else knows?"
"Twilight." replied Rarity who had regained her composure.
"No one else?"
"Nope. In fact I think we should go tell Pinkie" this time it was Rainbow who spoke.
"That is going to be a hoot but I'll let you two go I'm gonna go let this settle." said AppleJack as she turned and trotted into her family's home.
"Well let's go find Pinkie, I don't think telling her is going to be easy just because she simply won't be able to contain herself." said Rarity
"You know she's going to go crazy right?"
"Oh yes she will....."
