//------------------------------// // Episode 29: Give it your all // Story: Yu-Gi-Oh E-QUEST // by DakariKingMykan //------------------------------// EPISODE TWENTY-NINE When Kori got back to the camper, she was still looking pretty upset for having lost all her points. “I’m so sorry, Dick.” she said. “It’s not your fault, honey.” said Robin “You didn’t know that card was a trap. Nobody knows what cards they get.” “Besides, at least Raven and Pinkie Pie are in the finals.” stated Fluttershy “And who knows? Maybe the others will get a spot in the finals too?” Twilight did some calculations on a calculator, “The odds are in a favorable percent.” Raven sighed, “I just wish this tournament was over already. This game is not only getting more and more dangerous, I’ve still never seen such ridiculousness.” The others, though sharing her thought of the dangers, still didn’t approve of the way she was still putting the game down. Just then, Pinkie came in with snacks and bags of food from the park concession stands, and she was still as giddy as ever as she sang, “I’m going to the finals! I’m going to the finals!” “Yes, so we’ve heard.” muttered Rarity. “Ah, go on,” said Pinkie “This is awesome, and once I get there, I’ll blow out every duelists like a candle on a birthday cake.” Pinkie wasn’t really trying to annoy the others, but just keep a positive attitude. “Truth is, I’m a little scared. I mean, who knows what could happen at the finals anyway? What if those two bad guys attack again?” Robin agreed with her, “We don’t even know where the finals will be held or who else could be dueling.” He checked the virtual world clock. “Less than an hour to go before time’s up.” “Are there any new finalists yet?” asked Kori. “Not yet, but that could change any second.” The Prince Brothers had been observing the happenings in the virtual world from their control ops, and Rubeus announced to “Attention all duelists, only one hour remains before you logout, there is still time. Win a duel and get the right point card. That’s all you need to make it to the finals.” Not surprisingly, the duelists on the screens began to search more frantically than ever, for point cards or other opponents to boost their scores, which sadly resulted in a few more duelists losing to trap cards that sapped them of their points. Raven and Pinkie Pie’s pictures were posted on a screen determining the finalists for the tournament, which left only six potential duelists. “This virtual simulation is becoming more of a stimulation.” said Rubeus “Already we have two fabulous finalists, and those who are neither strong nor smart enough taste the bitter gruel of defeat.” Loki snickered, “That’s my favorite part to watch; seeing all the kiddies flail about and trying to brave the dangers of our worlds.” His brother agreed, and then asked, “What of Sunset Shimmer?” “I’m afraid she has neither dueled nor located a point-card.” Rubeus thought it over as he observed Sunset on screen. “Much as I detest having to do this, perhaps we should take a little extra steps.” Sunset was walking through the forest by the lake, and checking under every rock, around every tree, searching high and low for a point card, while all the while wondering how her friends were holding up. “I wonder if any of them made it to the finals. I sure hope they did.” Suddenly, a small shimmer caught the corner of her eye. “What’s that?” No mistaking it, she could see a point card sitting on a low tree limb. “Score.” she said, but as she reached in to grab it, the card just inched away from her. She tried to grab for it again, and it levitated up into the air, and began to hover through the forest, forcing Sunset to give chase. “That must be a great card if it’s trying to get away from me!” Through the forest she ran, nearly tripping over jagged rocks and fallen logs. She seemed to chase that pesky card for quite a distance until she emerged back at the lake where the card seemed to float out over the water. However, there was a boat tied to a small dock. Sunset hadn’t recalled it being there before, but she had to get that card, and so she boarded the little boat and began to row out over the lake. The card didn’t seem to scoot away anymore, which made her feel assured that she would get it this time, but the water suddenly began to bubble and swirl all around her. “Uh-oh!” she cried “…It’s another trap!” Too late did she realize, and try as she would, she couldn’t row her boat out of the swirling waters which had now officially formed into a whirlpool, and sucked her and the point card under the waves of the lake. Sunset held her breath for as long as she possibly could, but then she gasped… …and realized she could actually breathe in the water. “What’s going on?” she wondered “How am I able to breathe? Comes to think of it, why is this lake so deep?” She reached the lake bottom and could see all the fish and plant life swirling about, almost as if she were under an ocean, which only baffled her even more. This virtual world was really starting to get more unusual than ever. Then she could see the point card floating along the depths. She began to swim for it, but the naughty card floated away from her reach again. “What is with this card?” she grumbled. The card then vanished into a deep trench, forcing her to go after it finally catching it, and much to her surprise, it read “x2” which doubled her duel score from 40% right to 80%! “Whoa!” she cried “This is awesome. I just need to win one more duel and I’ll be in the finals. I better find someone to duel and fast before time is up.” She began to swim upwards to the surface, but suddenly felt the water currents pushing her. “What now?” She tried and she tried to fight the current, but to no avail. The water just continued to throw her forth, until she could see the lakebed curving upward and she washed ashore up onto a beach. “Ugh!” she groaned as she shook her long wet hair. “Sunset?” called a familiar voice. She knew that voice, and looked up and saw Vic. He had been exploring the beach, and pretty much catching up on some rays. That’s when the duel field formed around them both! The both of them realized they had to duel now, but Sunset didn’t like the idea. Vic looked down at his duel meter, “All I got is 10%.” “That’s all you have?” cried Sunset. Vic nodded, “I found a point card, but it was only worth 5 points.” Now the two realized that if Vic lost this duel, he’d be out of the tournament. “I can’t!” cried Sunset “I won’t duel you.” “We don’t have a choice, girl.” said Vic. Sunset looked down at her duel meter, and knew that if she won she’d go to the finals, and still represent her trying to help the Titans save Jump City. She then stood tall and proud, “Okay, I’m ready.” “So am I.” said Vic “Let’s give it our all, ‘K?” Sunset nodded, and the duel disks were prepared. “…DUEL!!” Sunset LP: 8000 Vic LP: 8000 The two drew their cards, and Sunset still felt a little awkward having to duel her friend. “Hey, come on, don’t you be backing out on me now.” Vic called to her. “I’m not,” said Sunset “It’s just…” “I know, it feels hard having to fight a friend, trust me, I’ve had that a lot.” He referred once again to the time Robin became Slade’s apprentice, and he had to fight against the Titans, and just like when he was Red X too. Then there was Terra as Slade’s apprentice, and even fighting the Titans East who were brainwashed by Brother Blood. “Being a hero means sometimes you got to suck it up, and you might end up having to fight those you care for or did care for.” Sunset could relate to that, almost! The way she used to be envious, evil, and misguided to fight those who would later become her friends. Vic could see she was still a little down, “I think I go first,” he said “And I summon my pal DESKBOT DOUBLE-O TWO!” (Atk: 500) “And next I play the spell MACHINE DUPLICATION. It only works if I have a machine monster with no more than 500 attack points. Now I get to summon as many copies of that monster straight to the field from my deck, so I get two more Double-O Two bots.” In a flash of light, his two bots appeared. (Atk: 500) x2 Sunset was most impressed. “You just summoned three monsters all at once.” Vic nodded, “But that’s not all I did, my bots not kick into gear with their abilities. Since they were special summoned, I can add two “Deskbots” from the deck to my hand, and I pick “Dobule-O Five” and “Double-O Six.” Those were Pendulum Monsters, as Sunset had not forgotten that Vic knew how to Pendulum Summon as well. “Now I’ll place two cards facedown, and it’s over to you.” “Fine,” said Sunset “I draw…!” She looked down at her cards. It was bad enough she couldn’t Pendulum Summon due to not having the right cards, but she was still feeling rather awkward dueling a friend, and still dreading that if she defeated him he’d be out of the running. Vic could see this and called to her, “Come on, just duel like you always do. I doesn’t matter who wins or loses, at least one of us gets to go on.” Sunset didn’t feel any better, “I just wish there was some way that we both could, then we’ll all have a better chance of getting what we want.” Much as Vic was pleased to hear her say that, he had to call her out on it. “Look, girl, you duel me and you make it good now, or I may as well forfeit right here, right now.” Sunset looked up in shock, “What?!” Vic nodded at her, “Don’t make me do it. I’m asking you, don’t make me!” Sunset couldn’t believe what she was hearing; that he was willing to forfeit, and give up his chance to save his hometown just like that. No way she was going to let that happen, and she began to find her strength. “I’ll do it if you do duel me good and hard.” he repeated. That’s when Sunset stood straight up and tall, “You want it, you got it!” Vic smiled “Bring it!” Sunset agreed, “I’ll place two cards facedown, and then I activate RAIGEKI which blows all your monsters off the field!” Vic growled and watched as the strong lightning bolts blasted all of his bots to the graveyard. Sunset smirked, “Now that they’re all gone, I summon WISDOM-EYE MAGICIAN.” (Atk: 1500) “And now for his first trick, he’ll attack your life points directly!” The magician charged forth and readied itself to attack. “Don’t think so,” said Vic “I play the trap PINPOINT GUARD. It works when you declare an attack, and it lets me summon Double-O Two to the field in defense mode, and it can’t be destroyed this turn.” With that, his bot appeared back on the field. (Def: 500) “And don’t forget,” Vic hollered “Since it was special summoned, I can add a “Deskbot” to my hand. I choose “Double-O Seven!” Since it couldn’t be destroyed, Sunset called off her attack and ended her turn. “If only I could’ve Pendulum Summoned this turn.” she thought “Still, at least it gives Vic a good chance to fight back so he can have a good game with me.” Vic was still under the suspicion that Sunset was holding back as she didn’t Pendulum Summon like she always did-- only because he didn’t know the truth, and she couldn’t just blurt out her strategy. Still, rather than call her out rudely, he just drew his next card hollering, “Here I come, ready or not. I put Scale 1 DESKBOT DOUBLE-O FIVE, and Scale 10 DESKBOT DOUBLE-O SIX into my Pendulum Zone.” The two Deskbots appeared in the light tubes and the pendulum began to swing. “I don’t think so!” called Sunset. “Huh?” “If you think I’m going to let you Pendulum Summon that easy, you’ve got another thing coming. I activate TWIN-TWISTERS!” “No way!” cried Vic. “Way!” said Sunset with a smirk “Now by discarding one card, I can target two spells or traps on your field and destroy them!” The two Deskbots were destroyed instantly and vanished into Vic’s Extra Deck. He was shocked at first, but then he smirked. “I’m not too worried, because by destroying Double-O Five in the Pendulum Zone, I can summon a Deskbot from the grave!” Sunset cringed. “…and I bet you can guess who’s coming out now.” teased Vic, and he summoned another Double-O Two bot. (Atk: 500) “And you remember, when he’s special summoned, a Deskbot gets placed in my hand. …I choose “Double-O Eight!” Now he had four cards in his hand, “But that’s not all, when Double-O Six is destroyed in the Pendulum Zone, I can add one “Deskbot” from the graveyard to my hand, and it’s obvious I go with the last “Double-O Two.” Sunset was astonished by the way he was playing, and how he had fully replenished his hand. “Now, then,” said Vic “I’ll reset the Pendulum Scale!” “You what?!” gasped Sunset. Vic snickered, “That’s right, those first sets were just a setup, because I figured you’d try and destroy them so I couldn’t make it work, and now it’s going to cost you. I set the zones with Scale 1 DESKBOT DOUBLE-O EIGHT and Scale 10 DESKBOT DOUBLE-O SEVEN!” The Pendulum Scale was set again, and the Pendulum began to swing back and forth between the two monsters. “This can’t be good!” cried Sunset “Now you can summon as many level 2 through 9 monsters as you need.” Vic gave her a wink, “You know it, and here goes… I Pendulum Summon!” Three shots of light shone down from the sky as his monsters appeared. “DESKBOT DOUBLE-O TWO…!” (Atk: 500) “DESKBOT DOUBLE-O FIVE…!” (Atk: 500) “DESKBOT DOUBLE-O SIX…!” (Atk: 500) Five Deskbots lined his side of the field, making Sunset tremble. “And don’t forget, since Double-O Two was special summoned, I add a Deskbot to my hand. “Double-O One” will do it for me!” “No wonder he seemed so confident,” Sunset thought “He was prepared for me no matter what I did.” Vic was still under the impression that she was holding back on him, but he still wouldn’t call her out without proof. He decided to step it up a bit. “I activate Double-O Five’s ability-- when he’s special summoned, I can destroy one spell or trap card you control.” The bot fired a beam of light from its visor straight for Sunset’s card. “Activate DAMAGE DIET!” Sunset shouted, and her card revealed itself. “Go ahead and destroy it, but since I activated it, I’ll only take half of any battle damage this turn.” Her card was then shattered, but Vic was slightly impressed. “Maybe she’s not holding back.” he thought “Only one way to know for sure.” “Now, my Double-O Two trio kick in with their abilities; now my two new Deskbots gain 1500 attack points-- 500 for both Twos.” (Atk: 500) -----> (Atk: 2000) x2 “This can’t be good!” whimpered Sunset. Vic then entered his Battle Phase, “Ready or not, here we come! Double-O Five, attack that Wisdom-Eye Magician!” His monster began to charge straight for Sunset’s. “And now from my hand I play LIMITER REMOVAL, which doubles the power of all my monsters.” Sunset cringed, and watched as the bots all seemed to grow in-size as their attacks rose greatly. (Atk: 2000) -----> (Atk: 4000) x2 (Atk: 500) -----> (Atk: 1000) x3 His attack continued, and poor Sunset’s magician didn’t have a chance, and was blasted into dust. (Atk: 4000) VS (Atk: 1500) “Don’t forget my Damage Diet!” Sunset called out “…I only take half the damage!” Sunset LP: 8000 -----> 6750 “…Not worried about that,” said Vic “I still have a whole mess of bots to get you wish! Got get her, bots!” The four remaining robots combined their weapons and blasted Sunset all at once, knocking her off her feet! Altogether, the monsters combined attacks equaled to 7000, but thanks to her trap, Sunset only took 3500 points of damage. Sunset LP: 6750 -----> 3250 Sunset looked up and slowly got back onto her feet. “Nice attack, but don’t forget what happens next—all your monsters now get destroyed because of Limiter Removal’s effect.” Vic chuckled, “Funny, you’d think I wasn’t aware of that, or prepared for that.” “What?” “All part of my strategy. I play another quick-play card from my hand, SELF-TRIBUTE. Whenever my monsters would be destroyed, all I have to do is give 1000 life points, and they don’t get destroyed!” Vic LP: 8000 -----> 7000 With the paying of his points, all of his bots were shrouded in small barriers, preventing them from being destroyed so he could safely end his turn with no worries, though all his bots attack points dropped back to normal. Sunset clenched her fists, but then smiled. “I have to say, that was a pretty sweet move.” Vic nodded at her. Sunset then narrowed her eyes, “But don’t think that means I’m out of the running yet. Now I draw! And I play POT OF GREED, so I can draw two more cards.” She gazed down at her three cards and liked what she had. “Now I play the spell BRAIN CONTROL!” “What?!” snapped Vic. Sunset grinned, “Now all I have to do is pay up 800 life points,” Sunset LP: 3250 -----> 2450 “… And then I get to take control of one of your monsters, and I choose Deskbot Double-O Six!” Vic watched as his little bot left his field and ran over to join Sunset. “What do you think you’re doing?” he asked. Sunset explained, “You’ll see, because now I play another spell, MONSTER REBORN!” Now Vic was confused, until he remembered that Sunset had ditched a card to play Twin-Twisters! “Now I summon from the graveyard XIANGSHENG MAGICIAN!” (Atk: 500) Sunset then gazed over at Vic and told him, “I’m not holding back, if that’s what you’ve been thinking about me. I’m giving it the best I can give.” Vic was astounded, but pleased, and suddenly he remembered something about her deck. “Wait a minute! Are you going to summon--?” Sunset nodded, “Thanks to the combo I just pulled off, I can now use both these monsters to Synchro Summon!” Both monsters changed into energy orbs and flew up into the air, and Sunset called out as the formation of her monster began. “Power so strong, glowing bright, I summon a monster of awesome might! …I Synchro Summon NIRVANA HIGH PALADIN!” (Atk: 3300) Vic remembered that monster from when Sunset dueled those evil creeps, and he remembered that a Pendulum Summoned monster could be used as a Tuner. “So that’s why you took my Deskbot-- Pretty clever.” Sunset winked at him, “It was just the card I needed to bring this guy out. Speaking of which, since I successfully summoned him using a Pendulum Summoned Pendulum Monster as a Tuner, I can add one card from the graveyard to my hand, And I pick my Pot of Greed, so I can play it again and draw two more cards.” Vic found that to be odd. “If I were here I would’ve taken the Raigeki card.” he thought silently “But she says she’s not holding back, so I better trust her on this.” “Now,” shouted Sunset “Let’s do some damage. Nirvana High Paladin, attack Deskbot-Double O two!” (Atk: 3300) VS (Atk: 500) The mighty paladin swung its huge weapon, sending a big burst of energy straight at the little bot, blowing it to bits in a huge explosion, forcing Vic to brace himself as the shockwaves sped past him. Vic LP: 7000 -----> 4200 “And there’s more…!” said Sunset “When Paladin successfully destroys a monster in battle, I can instantly halve your life points just like that!” “Ah!” cried Vic, and just like that, his score dropped! Vic LP: 4200 -----> 2100 Any doubts he had left about her holding back were no more. “There, that’s the way to duel.” Sunset felt flattered. “Now I’ll place two cards facedown, and that ends my turn.” Vic drew his next card. “I must admit, you got more spunk in you than I thought, but don’t you be thinking that I’m going to quit now!” “I don’t expect you to.” replied Sunset. Vic nodded, “Well then, stand back, because here I come, and I summon DESKBOT DOUBLE-O ONE!” (Atk: 500) “Not only does he gain a 1000 attack point boost from my other Double-O Two bots, but an extra 500 points for every machine I have in play!” (Atk: 500) -----> (Atk: 3500) “Whoa!” cried Sunset “It’s even stronger than my Paladin!” “Sure it is,” said Vic “But it’s about to get even worse, because I tune him with my two Double-O Twos and Double-O Five, to make their levels equal 10!” All the remaining bots merged together, and shot up into the sky forming the big machine. “I Synchro Summon my big bad-boy, DESKBOT JET!” (Atk: 500) -----> (Atk: 1000) The two level 10 Syncrho monster’s glared each other down, but Sunset was concerned for Vic’s. “How can you stop me with that?” She knew Deskbot Jet gained extra attack points for every “Deskbot” monster Vic controlled, but thanks to the summoning, the Jet stood alone on the field, so it’s attack was only 1000 Vic chuckled, “I said I wasn’t going to hold back, because you didn’t let me down, and I mean it.” Sunset narrowed her eyes at him. Vic held out his arm, “Activate the trap PENDULUM BACK!” Sunset gasped, “Not that card?!” “Ah, yeah, Dick’s not the only one who uses this baby. Now I get to add Two Double-O Two Deaskbots from my graveyard to my hand since their levels are in-between that of my set pendulum scale.” …Now that we’re settled, I Pendulum Summon!” The big portal opened high above, and three shots of light beamed down revealing his monsters. “DESKBOT DOUBLE-O TWO…” (Atk: 500) x2 “DESKBOT DOUBLE-O FIVE…” (Atk: 500) The bots all glared Sunset down, and Vic still wasn’t through yet. “I activate Double-O One’s effect from the graveyard! Since I summoned more than two machines at the same time, he comes out to join the party!” (Atk: 500) “Then I can use the power of my Double-O Twos, and add two “Deskbot” monsters to my hand.” “Now then, let’s do a little math here. First, my Double-O One gains 500 points for every machine monster I have, plus an extra 500 from my Double-O Twos.” (Atk: 500) -----> (Atk: 4500) “Forty-Five hundred points!” cried Sunset. “That’s not all,” teased Vic “Double-O Five also gains 1000 points from the Twos, and an extra 500 for each face-up machine in my Extra Deck.” (Atk: 500) -----> (Atk: 2000) "And he also gets to destroy One Spell or trap you control!" "No!" Sunset cried as one of her facedown cards, "Mirror Force" was destroyed! “And then," said Vic "There’s my Jet, which gains 500 points for every “Deskbot” I have in play, plus the extra thousand from the Twos.” (Atk: 500) -----> (Atk: 4500) Sunset was trembling with fear at the sight of all those monsters, and how strong they were. “This is what happens when you give it your all.” said Vic “And speaking of giving it, I activate Jet’s ability, which lets me destroy Double-O Five, and then I can destroy one other card on the field, like your Paladin!” “Ah!” cried Sunset. “True, it will make my other bots weaker, but it’s needed to get rid of that bad boy of yours! Go, Jet! Blast him!” The Jet powered up its huge laser cannons and fired straight at Sunset’s field, blasting the Paladin hard and wiping it out. However, rather than going to the Extra Deck, the Paladin was glowing brightly. “Hey! What’s going on?” asked Vic. Sunset snickered, “I’ve been studying up on my new card so I can use it more effectively, and I discovered Nirvana High Paladin has another special ability. When it’s destroyed, it goes into my Pendulum Zone.” The Paladin took his place in the light, where it stood all alone. Vic was impressed, but pointed out, “You’re still wide open, and though my bots are weaker now, I still have the power to wipe you out. I’m sorry it’s come to this, but like I said, never be afraid to give it your all. That’s the hero way. And just to make sure that facedown of yours doesn’t get any ideas of beating my monsters, I play the spell, CARD GUARD! Now I just discard one of the cards I got, and for the rest of this turn, neither of my monsters can be destroyed by battle or care effect!” Sunset groaned nervous and whimpered. Vic apologized again for what he was about to do, “But just so you know, you put a good fight, girl, and I’m pleased.” Then he entered his battle phase, “Deskbot Jet, attack her directly!” The mighty Jet powered its laser, and fired straight at Sunset, hitting her square on. “Got’cha!” shouted Vic. But in the midst of the brightness of the impact, Sunset grinned and said, “No, you haven’t!” “Huh?” “I play the trap NEGATE ATTACK!” Vic's eyes widened, "No!" Sunset smirked, "Your Card Guard may prevent your monsters being destroyed, but that doesn't stop me from blocking the attack, and ending the battle phase so you can't wipe me out." Vic growled, but he had no choice now but to end his turn. Sunset then looked down at her own deck and felt glad that she had made a few alterations since her last duel. Vic had no choice but to end his turn. Sunset nodded, “Now it’s my draw…!” Her eyes glared deeply at what she had just drawn, “Now I’ll place Scale 5 NOBLEDRAGON MAGICIAN.” With her two zones now set, the magic pendulum began to swing. “Now I can summon as many level 6 to 7 monsters as I need.” and she called up to the pendulum, “As the pendulum swings from forth to back My monsters come forth… to launch an attack! …Behold my monster!” A single blast of light crashed down “ODD-EYES PENDULUM DRAGON…” (Atk: 2500) Her big dragon roared strong and loud, much to Vic's shock and horror. Sunset grinned wickedly, “You made a big mistake giving it way too much of your all, because you left your weaker bots in attack-mode!" "Ah!" cried Vic, and he realized both his Double-O Twos were still in Attack Mode. "And you know what that means," said Sunset "Once my Odd-Eyes attacks, not only will it destroy your bot, but you'll take double the damage, and that's 4000!" Vic knew he was finished, and hung his head a little low. Sunsent suddenly looked regretful again, feeling a tiny bit uneased about knocking Vic out of the tournament, and hesitated for a moment. It wasn’t until Vic looked up at her, smiling proudly and nodded telling her to “Do it!” Sunset then remembered and agreed, “…Give it my all!” Then called up to her monster, “Go Odd-Eyes, attack…!” The Deskbot was destroyed easily, and Vic lost the last of his life points. Vic LP: 2100 -----> 0 Sunset clenched her fist softly trying to stay strong with what she had just done. Vic’s duel meter was empty, and he automatically ported out, while Sunset’s meter had reached full, and that theme music played with the word “FINALIST” flashing on the screen. “I did it!” she said softly. Then she was immediately ported out. She awoke in the real world and the workers helped to release her from her virtual pod. “Congratulations.” she was told. “You are our third finalist.” Sunset stepped outside where she found Vic was waiting for her. “Way to go, girl. You did it!” Sunset smiled, but she still felt a little down about it now that Vic was out of the running. Before she could even speak, Vic shook his head, “Forget it. We’re all in this together, remember? Some of the others are in the finals, so we’re all good. Just give it your all.” Sunset couldn’t help but hug him softly, “Thanks, Vic. I really needed all that.” “Aw, Sunset… I’m getting kind of fond of you and your friends. Not that I want to pick out china or anything.” Sunset giggled, but suddenly her extra deck was glowing again as yet another magical card revealed a new monster to her. “Whoa! Check it out!” Vic gazed at the new monster, “This is one heck of a doozy.” “We better go an show the others right now.” suggested Sunset. Vic agreed and they both ran off together… …Unaware that the Prince Brothers had seen it all. “It has worked.” said Rubeus “The girl is now in the finals, and nearly every card she has is awakened.” Loki grinned, “Everything has gone according to plan, and the girl is still none-the-wiser to knowing what is up ahead.” Rubeus agreed, “Even if she does find out, which isn’t very likely, by then it will be far too late. We’ll already have what we desire of her.”
