//------------------------------// // Chapter 1 - Definitely not in Kansas... // Story: Embrace your Destiny // by Ocelot the Devil //------------------------------// Ugh… my damn head… what the hell happened last night? Weird… but for some reason I can’t remember anything… my memory feels like a big blur. And if that wasn’t bad enough… my eyes are closed and can’t open them. There were so many questions running through my mind right now – why can’t I remember anything? Where am I exactly and how did I get here? Also… WHY CAN’T I OPEN MY EYES!? Everything is complete darkness!!! Just then, I felt a huge gust wind crashing into my body… Ugh… someone turn on the radiator… I can’t stand the cold! God, I hope I haven’t ended up in a frozen wasteland somewhere… Huh…? My eyes… they’re opening slowly… I can feel the light pouring through them… now to find out where I am… ouch! Someone is giving me a hard-glowing glare… I blocked it in time with my hand. With a soft groan, I slowly sat up… my head still hurts but at least I can get up… unfortunately, my memory is still a bit fuzzy. After rubbing both the eyes and back of my head, I took a look around the place where I was: I was in a forest of some kind… no doubt filled with all kinds of dangerous creatures that could chomp or kill me. Also, before I came to… I realized that I was lying in grass. Just… where am I exactly? Better yet… who am I? Why can’t I remember anything… ugh, this is so damn stupid! With a frustrated sigh, I laid back onto ground and waited for… anything at this point. “This is so freaking stupid…” I immediately froze as my eyes widened in shock… sitting up quickly, I shook my head – that’s definitely not my normal voice! For some reason, it feels very familiar though… but how…? No, no… can’t stay here… have to find answers and fast… I got up and started to look arou- Wait… what are those things on my left hand? Bracelets… I don’t usually wear bracelets unless its for a special occasion. Where did they come from and why did they look familiar…? Another gust of wind crashed into my body and made me shake. “Brrgh… someone turn on the damn heat…” Ask and you shall receive as the sun heated my body up pretty quickly… guess that’s where the glaring came from when my eyes were blinded up. Anyways, back to searching for answer… I started to walk forward… anywhere better than this forest… maybe I can find a town and ask the locals where the hell I am. Just hope they’re friendly with me… Wait… what was that…? I stopped and turned around to see what that rustling noise is… the bushes are twitching… something is definitely hiding in there. Looking down at the ground, I tried my best to find some kind of weapon like a rock or stick but no such luck. Great, I’m doomed. The thing in question that came out of the rustling bushes was something that I didn’t expect at all: Wolves completely made out of wood!? I mean I expected dangerous animals like tigers or lions but wooden wolves? That definitely beats up my fanfiction… in a literal sense. In any event, there were two/three wooden wolves and they were growling at me – no doubt due to them seeing me as a threat. What was worst was I couldn’t find any weapons at all to defend myself. I’m definitely in trouble… The wolves charged at me as I immediately ran away… need to find civilization and fast! I don’t care who or what… just so long as I get away from those wolves! I ran and ran but the wolves were catching up to me… need to get out of this forest now… I have to- Oof! I was so busy telling myself to run that I didn’t see where I was going and accidentally tripped on a rock and crashed forward onto the grass. Raising my head, I flipped myself around and saw that I accidentally sprayed my lower left ankle. There was a small wound with blood pouring out of it… not gonna lie, it hurts very bad. Also, guess who arrived – the damn wooden wolves! I’m in big trouble and no doubt going to die. Screw my life completely… The wolves were growling and slowly approaching me while I was searching for any weapons to defend myself against their attacks. No such luck! Closing my eyes, I waited for the inevitable as I held my hands up. I just hope they are quick and merciful… “Stay away from her! You all should be ashamed of yourselves!” An unknown voice spoke. Who was that…? I didn’t recognize that voice at all… it’s female… but I don’t know who it is. Opening my eyes slowly and lowering my hands, I saw the most bizarre thing: A yellow Pegasus with pink hair and a tattoo of three butterflies on her butt was standing in front of me and yelling at the wooden wolves. I can’t believe that she was risking her life to protect me even though I’m just a stranger to her. The yelling didn’t seem to affect the wolves at all… in fact, from the looks of things they were getting angrier that they weren’t allowed to reach their pray (me). The pegasus didn’t care and remained where she was. “If you Timberwolves know what is good for you, you’ll leave the poor dear alone and go back from where you came from!” The pegasus demanded as I gave a mental chuckle to myself. Timberwolves? Seriously… that’s their name? What a weird name… then again, I guess its better than wooden wolves. Speaking of the wolves, they growled and prepared to charge as I closed my eyes in waiting for the fate that was to befall me… I also felt remorse for the little pegasus that was going to be killed simply because she wanted to stop the wolves from killing me. I just wish I had a chance to find out who or where I am exactly… And so I waited… and waited… but it never came. What…? Aren’t I supposed to be getting ripped to shreds by now along with the pegasus that was defending me? Where are the screams of pain and horror? Opening my eyes slowly, I couldn’t help but gasp in shock – the pegasus was leaning extremely close to the Timberwolves and giving them some kind of scary stare. They went from angry and growling to pathetic and cowardly. What the hell…? “Now you listen here! I told you to leave her alone! Why haven’t you fled yet? You three should be ashamed of yourselves! I want you to go away and never bother this young lady again! Do you hear me?” The pegasus asked but the wolves continued to shake in fear without giving an answer. She leaned a little closer to their face and asked once more. “Do… you… hear… me!?” All three Timberwolves nodded in fear before taking off in another direction as the pegasus yelled at them for what was probably the last time. “And don’t you ever do such a bad thing again!” I couldn’t believe what just happened – waking up in an unknown forest only to get threatened by a bunch of wooden wolves and then a pegasus comes to save my life. Funny how fate sometimes works… Getting up, I was about to go and thank my savior when my vision began to get blurry due to the blood loss from my ankle wound. The pegasus turned around and her eyes immediately widened when she saw my sprayed ankle. “Oh, my! You poor thing… we need to get you some medical- a-are you okay…?” The pegasus asked me as I began to waver for a little bit before I stumbled forward much to my savior’s shock. “Oh, no!” She screamed with tears in her eyes just as my eyes were beginning to close. The last thing that I saw with my blurry vision was her rushing forward to check up on me just as my eyes closed completely. My body shut down completely as I went into an unconscious state.
