Rainbow Dash was quite nervous as she slowly trotted down towards Twilight’s castle. The pegasus was quite flustered and was shaking all over as she mumbled, “Oh...this is gonna be so weird...being in a fake womb and all...what am I doing?”
Fluttershy smiled. “Oh, I’m sure you’ll be fine. Twilight knows what he's doing.”
“But it just sounds so...weird.” Rainbow flapped her wings. “Didn’t she say you be the mother? What does that mean?”
Fluttershy blushed as she explained, “well...I won’t be your real mom, it’s more like a role play.”
Rainbow Dash scratched her head, “I still don’t get it, and from the letter, she sent me Twilight said there are side effects like milk addiction, some weight gain? I can’t gain weight! I have to stay in shape if I want to stay in the Wonderbolts!”
Fluttershy rolled her eyes and replied, “Oh stop, it's not like you blow up into a balloon! I bet it’ll just be a little baby fat.”
Rainbow groaned. “That sound embarrassing.” She remarked before spotting Soarin at the front of the castle as well. “Huh what is he doing here?”
Soarin turned smiling. “Oh hey Rainbow.”
Fluttershy’s face turned a bright red. “Oh...didn’t Twilight’s letter explain?”
Rainbow Dash gulped and replied, “I...I don’t think so.”
“I'm apparently playing as the father in this experiment.” Soarin chuckled as he held the door open for the two mares.
Rainbow Dash squeaked, “wait you're going to role play as my dad!”
Fluttershy cooed as she pushed her friend through the doors. “Oh don’t be so embarrassed Rainbow Dash it’s all apart of the experience now come on we kept Twilight long enough.”
They all went up the stairs and found Twilight waiting for them in her lab coat with Nurse Redheart in her nurse uniform. The princess smiled and exclaimed, “Hey you three it’s about time you showed up!”
Rainbow Dash gulped and whimpered, “I'm...so..sorry twilight but I’m still kind of on the fence about this whole thing.” She said staring at the red pod and all the sci-fi-like wiring looking like something out of Spike’s comic books.
Twilight came over and cooed, “hey Rainbow it’s going to be ok trust me this is going to help you relax it’ll be like a day at the spa but a hundred times better.”
The daredevil mare gave a deep breath. “Ok, so what’s going to happen, like just explain how this is all gonna go.”
Twilight stood up and replied, “It’s very simple, you’ll be in the pod as it will be like a womb. You’ll be attached to a prosthetic umbilical cord you’ll be placed with headphones that will allow you to hear Fluttershy’s heartbeat along with her being able to feel her kicks.” She pointed out each device in turn with a grin. “For science.”
“Okay, fine I'll do it,” Rainbow said shaking her head. “I’m not scared of anything.”
Fluttershy smiled too. “I’m rather excited to try it after seeing so many of my animals during spring.” She moved over to the suit laying the table and felt it before letting it unfold and slipping her hooves into it. It stretched as she did so slipping effortlessly over her body feeling similar to latex almost. She shifted when the belly part was adjusted in the right place currently at the lowest setting.
“How’s it fit?” Twilight asked showing off the remote.
“It’s good,” Fluttershy said still a little red.
Being satisfied with the answer, she let Redheart approach Rainbow Dash helping her place the earphones over her ears and adjusted them. The moment they were in place Fluttershy’s heartbeat was heard causing her to feel at peace as a wave of calmness came over her.
Twilight then led her friend to the changeling pod and placed her inside the simulated womb. “Now you wait here and relax, this place will be filled with a liquid but you will be able to breathe once the umbilical cord attaches to your belly button.”
Rainbow Dash stood there shaking with the only thing keeping her calm being her friend's gentle heartbeat. Soon a mechanical cord came out of nowhere and attached itself to her belly button. A second later the pod closed and began to slowly fill with the same slimy liquid as before. Rainbow Dash was a bit scared at first. “H-hey!” she called out kicking about as the fluid rose quickly above her head. Once completely submerged, the womb contracted around her body slowly curling her up into the fetal position. She then heard Fluttershy’s voice. “Hey, you okay in there give me a kick just if you’re ok.”
Rainbow Dash felt weird as she gave a little kick causing Fluttershy to squeak in joy. “Oh my Celestia! I actually felt that!”
“She sure is a strong foal” Soarin joked watching Twilight adjust with remote to make Fluttershy belly a little rounder.
Fluttershy blushed at the weighted feeling, “Oh you never know might be a colt.” she quipped back with a giggle.
Redheart snickered and cooed, “oh we’ll see soon enough we have your appointment scheduled.”
“Oh uh, I don’t actually have to go outside in this right?” the shy pegasus asked. “It'd be a little embarrassing and all that staring.”
Twilight shook her head. “No of course not, now we're going to start so let’s get into character. We’ll start at Fluttershy being six months pregnant and having her scheduled an appointment to find out the baby’s gender with Nurse Redheart.”
Soarin snickered, “oh so we really don’t know at this point!”
Twilight couldn’t help but chuckle as she responded, “no, now I have three rooms in the castle you’ll be going to one is your bedroom, one is a nursery, and the other is the fake hospital room where Fluttershy will have her checkups. Now, Fluttershy and Soarin will go to the bedroom first and talk it over like parents hashing out if its a filly or a colt. You guys ready!”
“Um are sets needed?” Fluttershy asked.
“Of course, it helps set the mood. Spike even helped out.”
“Oh okay,” Fluttershy smiled following Soarin through the castle and entering the bedroom it looked like a standard maternity queen-sized bed with a giant comforter. There was a nightstand filled with books about pregnancy and foal rearing along with a milk pumping machine. Fluttershy was quite astonished, “well it really does look like a couple's bedroom. Hopefully, my breasts don’t get enlarged.”
Soarin laughed imagining the sight, “that would be funny if they did.”
Twilight blushed ‘uh well I mean could push the button to simulate that if you really wanted too.“
Fluttershy stammered a bit. “Oh my, I’m not sure.”
Soarin nuzzled Fluttershy’s mane. “Oh come on, do it for the foal.” He played along.
Fluttershy rubbed her belly secretly wishing she really was pregnant. “Oh...alright, it might be a long while before I ever get to experience this for real.” She kept staring as the button w pressed as she soon had the perfect nursing breasts between her legs. “I-I really do look the part.”
Rainbow continued to float inside occasionally hearing the muffled voices the time difference distorting non-important bits. The initial panic had worn off what felt like hours ago but with no light to go on, the mare had no sense of actual time. It felt uncanny, yet she wasn’t that worried having the constant soft thumping to keep her centered. “How long has it been? Maybe I should kick again.” a few quiet moments go by. “Did they forget about me here?” Of course, the mare had no clue about the time difference within the womb pod.
She then heard a voice sounding like Soarin’s. “So I'm betting it’s a colt, hooves down he’s kicking up a storm in there.”
Fluttershy responded, “oh she could be just restless, I’m thinking it’s a filly I’ve been reading this book here and it says that fillies tend to be more active then colts in the womb.”
Rainbow slowly kicked her hoof against the chamber wall trying to focus to listen. Hearing Fluttershy’s voice was very calming.
Fluttershy eeped and giggled, “see! There she goes again, the little cutie! I bet she’s going to have my yellow coat!”
Soarin shook his head. “I doubt it, she’ll probably have my blue coat, but I bet he or she will have a pink mane and tail.”
Rainbow inside can’t help blush at the thought o such an odd colour combo. “Bleh” she gave another kick as a joke.
Fluttershy giggled rubbing her belly as she replied, “so we should get going? I mean I think it’s about time.”
The stallion hoisted Fluttershy from the bed who giggled with her belly shaking about. Soarin came to the closet and opened it seeing a whole line of maternity dresses. No doubt borrowed from Rarity’s shop. He went and picked out a pink dress with butterflies printed all over before bringing it over to Fluttershy
“Why thank you,” Fluttershy smiled slipping the silky dress over her frame.
Soarin grinned as well. “hey its the least I can do, you're doing most of the heavy lifting with the baby inside you.”
Fluttershy blushed. “Oh, maybe you should try it on.” She joked a bit as she looked int mirror a bit feeling sheepish.
Soarin snickered, “Wonder if that would even work.” He saw Fluttershy had a slight waddle as she walked out the door. Soarin blushed and asked, “you need help?”
Fluttershy scoffed, “I can walk on my own Soarin, I’m not completely helpless.”
Rainbow snickered a little inside as well all the talk making her feel just like an unborn foal.
The two made their way down the hall and came upon the next-door labeled with a sign “Nurse Redheart’s office.”
Nurse Redheart saw the two enter her office with a clipboard as she cooed, “hello you two! You must be Soarin and Fluttershy!”
The wonderbolt gave a nod, “yeah we’re here to see if we have a little colt or filly?
Redheart clapped her hooves. “Excellent! Well come on Fluttershy let’s see what we got!” She then slowly removed the dress from her body and helped the pegasus laid down on the hospital bed. She then began to smear a cold cream over the pegasus’s belly before pressing the wand over it she turned to see a screen appeared on with a grainy black and white video of Rainbow Dash! However, she looked like a fetus all curled up inside and the ponies around her giggled.
“I wonder what's so funny.” Rainbow thought as she listened to the chatter not having much to worry about. “Is mommy happy? Wait, did think mommy?”
Fluttershy smirked seeing the video. “I win it’s a filly.”
Soarin stomped a hoof. “Darn, looks like I get diaper duty for a month when she’s born.”
Rainbow squeaked in her mind. “They better not put me in no diaper! When I get out.”
Nurse Redheart cooed, “Congratulations, I'm sure she is going to be a healthy foal too by how she is growing.”
Soarin laughed, “she really is! Look her wings are already growing.”
“I’m glad it’s a pegasus, imagine if it had been a unicorn.”
“How pokey.” Saorin jested ruffling Fluttershy’s mane.
Redheart snickered, “well, luckily her head is down that means we can do a natural birth.” She then removed the wand and cleaned the goop off Fluttershy’s tummy and Soarin helped her off the table. The nurse took the remote and turn the knob up another notch expanding the tummy some more. “Onto the next stage.”
After the doctor visit, The group all decided to take a break for a while stopping into the kitchen to eat. Spike waved at the group with a smile. “Hey girls and Soarin, how’s the project.” He asked taking an extra look at Fluttershy’sround belly. He blushed a bit. “Can I touch it?”
The pegasus blushed and gave a nod as Spike rubbed a claw against the belly noticing how realistic it felt... Rainbow heard the weird noise against the belly.
“What’s that? It sounds weird, I'm scared.” She kicked a few times.
Spike gasped, “wow! I actually felt a kick! That’s amazing.”
Fluttershy chuckled, “Oh, she's so restless I’m betting she’s probably hungry.” Fluttershy then took out pickles and peanut butter. She began dipping the pickles into the jar before starting munching on them. “Hehe, my mom used to eat like this when she was having me. Not bad actually.”
Rainbow tasted it all the peanut butter and pickles and it was delicious! She kicked about in Fluttershy’s belly some more while in her mind she was shouting, “I want more! That’s so good mama!
“Guess it’s a good thing you don’t have real cravings.” Nurse Redheart commented as she makes a sandwich.
“Oh, or cramps,” Fluttershy added before blushing when another kick causing her to flinch. “Be right back.” She eeped and rushed out of the room to find a bathroom.
Rainbow Dash felt as if month past but she loved every second feeling so safe and secure. “Mmm this isn’t so bad. I wonder how long it’s been?” She soon heard Fluttershy’s voice once again. “Hmmm, do you really think we should paint the baby’s room blue? She’s a filly after all.”
Soarin responded, “it's blue with yellow lightning bolts the symbol of the Wodnerbolts. I bet she’s going to love them coming to every show for free!”
Fluttershy laughed, “oh I bet she will, I bet she may even try to fly around the house and breaking everything.”
Rainbow giggled from within. “Hehe yeah I did that a lot.”
She then heard something like wrapping paper and heard Soarin her dad. “Look what I got her! It’s a plush Spitfire it even has cute little voicebox!” He pressed it with her hooves and a voice came out. Your a great flyer keep it up?! “What a big filly you can fly all by yourself!”
Fluttershy was amazed, “oh wow! They make those!?”
Soarin rolled his eyes. “Oh, you be surprised how much Wonderbolt Merch there is out there. There are even Wonderbolt diapers for foals!”
Fluttershy smirked, “looks like we might need to stock up on those. Extra thick ones too don’t forget.”
Rainbow blushed thinking about being diapered in a Wonderbolt printed padding. “I...think that actually sounds nice? I wonder if mama can buy me lots of those.”
Soarin nodded, “sure...I can buy some I bet I can get her some Wonderbolt onesies too!
“Oh, not everything has to be Wonderbotls. Why not some cute animal onesies. I wanna dress her up like a little fox or puppy.”
Soarin cooed, “oh, that sounds so cute! What if we get her a bird sleeper! The Wonderbolts were thinking of getting a mascot!”
Fluttershy laughed just picturing the image of Rainbow in such a costume all blushing and embarrassed. “maybe...well I think it's finished the crib is set up, we have a diaper changing table. Now we can worry about the little things.”
Soarin gave a nod, “Yeah, let’s go to Nurse Redheart I think she mentioned wanting a follow-up appointment.”
Rainbow Dash just thought in her mind. Did mama really make an entire nursery just for me! Oh, I can’t wait to see it! Wait...why I think that, isn’t it al pretend?” Although any worry soon faded away as she kept listening to the thumping heartbeat. She was going to miss that sound for sure.
It felt like an another few months went by for Rainbow Dash while for Fluttershy it was only a single day as supper came around. Spike set the plate down full of the mixed Salad and veggies. “That must feel really weird,” he comments, the belly on the large setting weighing the pegasus down.
Fluttershy eyed the food, “this is fine for me, but I need to eat more for the baby don’t you think?”
Spike blushed and replied, “bu..but your not really preg-”
Fluttershy placed a hoof to his lips. “Don’t break character Spikey,” She whispered. “I need another potion,” she said a bit louder.
“Oh okay,” Spike said gesturing with air before adding a few extra steamed carrots to her plate. “There you go extra-large portion.”
Rainbow kicked about in excitement. Oh what did mama get for food! I hope its peanut butter and pickles again! It wasn’t long till Rainbow dash felt the nutrients pulse through her body and she tasted carrots and lettuce along with other ingredients. the pegasus whined, “ it's okay, but I was hoping mama would eat something better. Like chocolate.”
Fluttershy had a sudden urge for chocolate and asked, “hey do..do you have chocolate I have no idea but I suddenly had a craving for it.”
Twilight shouted, “holy Celestia! Did you get a craving from the baby! This can be a major breakthrough!”
Fluttershy blushed “I don’t know Twilight, it's just a thing moms have it could just be a placebo effect ya know.” She went over to the fridge taking out a place with one slice of chocolate cake. “Oh, can I have some of this?”
Twilight waved a hoof. “Have it all! I’ll even go and buy you some chocolate! I have to document this!”
Spike rolled his eyes. “There she goes again.”
“But Spike it’s for Science, imagine the implications.” Twilight beamed. “I didn’t even know the pod could do this.”
“Just like how you didn’t know of those side effects.” The drake rolled his eyes.
Fluttershy meanwhile greedily ate the slice of cake Rainbow Dash loving it as it hit her taste buds. She wanted more! “Y-yes Twilight I want more chocolate please”. Shed licked her lips.
Twilight got up and exclaimed, “don’t worry! I’ll get more right away!” she instantly teleported with her horn and was back with a whole bag filled to the brim with chocolate bars, and chocolate brownies.
The pegasus drooled a little before taking a few and ripping into them munching away and causing smears on her cheeks.
“And What if Fluttershy gets an upset stomach,” Spike asked being the rational one while also trying to ake one the bars for himself.
Twilight waved a hoof. “Oh she’ll be fine, let’s watch and see what happens.”
After Fluttershy’s chocolate binge she went straight to her room moaning “oh dear I think I had way too much chocolate.”
Rainbow could hear the rumbling from Fluttershy upset tummy and blushed feeling a little bad. “But it was chocolate.”
Soarin turned to his “wife” “Hey, how are you feeling?” He asked seeing Fluttershy’ pinned ear.
“Ugh, too much candy.” She laid herself upon the bed splaying herself out before burping.
Soarin wanting to help gently rubbed her tummy to try and help. “I guess Twilight got carried away with seeing how much you’d eat.”
“Just give me a few minutes okay.” Fluttershy moaned closing her eyes.
Once her friend's stomach had calmed down and the princess had apologized, Twilight wrote notes on her clipboard since Redheart had gone home for the evening. “Mmhmm, everything is going well. I think we’ll let her out in the morning.”
Fluttershy blushed. “You mean I have to sleep like this too. Oh my.” She rubbed her large tummy with a grin. “Hopefully little one won’t keep mommy awake.” A light kick made her snicker a bit.
Twilight cooed, “oh I think you and she’s doing ok. But I’ve made sure she’s getting plenty of nutrients and I'm sure she’ll settle down.” The princess then pulled the sheets over her friend who smiled back. “Hey Twilight, thanks for letting me do this I mean this has been a wonderful experience.”
Twilight feeling just as maternal, kissed her on the forehead. “It’s no problem now get some sleep.” She then walked out of the room and turned to Soarin. “You watch her and if she needs anything make sure she gets it.”
The pegasus saluted, “you can count on me!”
As Morning rolled around, the group including Redheart all watched as the pool drained, Rainbow sliding out onto the bed with dazed eyes. A pink banner came over her head reading It’s a filly! But Rainbow just moaned opening her eyes wincing a bit at the light. “Ugh, I feel like I've slept for a year.” She let out a chuckled spitting up some goop. “Best nap I've ever had hehe.”
Fluttershy was first to come over and wipe her down with a towel. “That’s good to hear. You sure kicked a lot.” she joked.
Rainbow barely heard her friend talk as she hugged Fluttershy instinctively and cried out. “Mama!” She pressed her ear to the pegasus chest to listen to her heartbeat with a smile.
“O-oh my,” Fluttershy’s cheeks went crimson. “Twilight is this normal?” She squeaked trying to wiggle away but her friend held on tighter.
Twilight was busy writing on her clipboard. “Wow Rainbow is having more of the side effects then Red Heart.” Coming over next to them she inspected Rainbow seeing she did put on a few pounds with her cheeks a little chubby and her flanks and bell been much the same. “Huh, wow you put on quite a lot of baby fat. But don't worry it leaves your body fast.”
Rainbow kept her ear to Fluttershy chest. “I’m not fat.” she pouted looking at her flanks.
Fluttershy couldn't help but pinch Rainbow’s cheek, “oh there’s no problem being a little chubby, now come on let’s get you something to eat. I bet your quite hungry.”
Rainbow chirped, “can I have chocolate milk mama!”
Twilight snickered, “of course, I got some last night.”
The athletic pegasus didn’t leave Fluttershy’s side as they headed to the kitchen grabbing the bottle that Twilight had filled. Rainbow didn’t seem to question why it was in a foal bottle but began to suckle it anyway.
Fluttershy shifted while being snuggled so much .”I-it does wear off right?” she squeaked.
Twilight rubbed her chin taking notes. “Rainbow is very clingy, I guess the amount of time she spent inside the machine might have had more effect. Or maybe it different from pony to pony.” She rambled to herself.
Spike facepalmed. ‘You aren’t concerned about altering our friend's minds with this?”
he asked frowning.
“It’ll wear off!” Twilight protested. “I’m sure of it. Just one more test is all we need.”
Fluttershy blushed as she held the baby bottle and let Rainbow suckle. “Oh come now, isn’t it obvious!? Her mom gave her so much love and attention which she hasn’t received in years. She probably misses it and wants to be babied. Besides we built a whole nursery just for her it would be a shame if it went to waste.”
“That nursery is just a prop,” Twilight said blushing to wonder if the suit gave the user side effects.
Fluttershy held Rainbow by the hoof. “Well, I’ll just have to baby her a little at my place then. I have a whole bunch of foal stuff and I’m sure Discord can help out.”
Rainbow burped once finished the bottle and blinked shaking her head “Huh, what was a doing mommy?” she asked confused for a second yet still being clingy.”
Fluttershy cooed, “oh don’t you fret Rainbow you were just being cute. Now you’re going to stay at my place for a little is that okay?”
Rainbow squealed feeling a wave of happiness. Mommy knew best after all. “of course mama!”
“And you won’t mind if I diaper you do you?” Fluttershy cooed patting Rainbow head.
“uh...I don’t know.” Rainbow blushed holding her friend’s hoof.
“I’m sure once you try it you’ll love it. Come along.” Fluttershy cooed leading Rainbow out and down the hall.
Spike crossed his arms looking at Twilight with skepticism. “And you are sure you want to test the pod again? After seeing this?”
“I’m telling you, they’ll be fine.”
Red Heart blushed asTwilight and Spike talked. Sneaking a baby bottle of chocolate milk from the fridge, “hey uh Twilight I'm going to go take a nap if that's okay with you?”
Twilight looked over and nodded. “Sure you were up all night keeping an eye on things…”
Red Heart sneaked to her room and once alone plopped down on her bed kicking about as she placed the bottle in her mouth suckling away happily. I don’t know if it’s the side effects from the pod or not I never felt so good about drinking from foal bottles! After this is all done I'm going to buy myself some adult diapers!
