Back in the village, Spike and Scootaloo were separated from there moms and placed in a empty room together.
It has speakers with Starlights voice talking about how cutie marks are a lie, along with water and a thing of hay.
The colt ran up to the door trying to open it, "Let us out..please, can you at least but me with my mom".
They barely heard two stallions say, "Sorry kid, but Starlight is right about all this, we'll let you out once you see that cutie marks are evil".
"What are we gonna do", the athletic filly asked scared, she wanted be with her mom and go home.
Her boyfriend started pacing back and forth now, "We need to get out of here and free our parents and their friends, but how?"
Then he noticed the widow, he rushed towards it and tried to open it only to find it was shut tight, then he gave up realising it's useless.
Suddenly the door opened causing them to gasp, Starlight was waiting for them with a smile, "Are you ready to join us, if you do you will be free, you do wanna be free don't you".
They glared, "I'll never give up my dream of being the greatest stunt flyer ever".
That caused her to sigh and turned to a couple of colts and fillies, "Sorry boys and girls, no new friends today", that caused them to groan in disappointment.
But before she can close and lock the door, Double Diamond walked up to her with fear written all over his face, "Uh Starlight, I think we should put them with their mother's".
That caused her to turn to him, "Do you remember what I told you guys".
He nodded, "I do, but it's just..it's Fluttershy, she told me that if she finds one hair or feather missing from her sons body, she'll rip my nuts off and make me eat them, do you know how painful that sounds.
Then another stallion came up to her, "Yeah, and Rainbow Dash said that If she don't have her daughter with her in the next five minutes, she'll Sonic Rainboom kick my junk so hard that I'll sound like a little filly on helium".
Then suddenly a mare walked up to her, "Just put them with there mother's Starlight, if you show compation, maybe they will join us then".
That caused her to think, "Your right, put the kids with there moms", they nodded and walked inside.
"Come on, we'll take you to your mother's", the athletic colt and filly was hesitated, then cautiously followed them.
They were lead to another building just like their, but bigger, the door opened and they rushed to their mothers hugging them.
"Mom, I'm so glad your alright", the colt nuzzled her as she nuzzled him back glad that nothing bad happened to him.
"I'm ok sweetie, but are you ok..they didn't hurt you did they", the shy mare started checking him for injuries.
"Did they hurt you Scoots, cuz if they did I'll-I'm ok mom, really", that caused the rainbow Pegasus to sigh in relief.
Then they noticed their coats, "Hey mom, your fur looks like a slightly darker yellow", the shy mare looked at herself.
"Oh, I never noticed that", she said while Twilight was pacing back and forth trying to think off a way out.
"I-I wanna go home, where I know it's safe with dad and the rest of the family", he leaned against his mother as she hugged him.
"I know, me too".
The next morning, everypony but Twilight was waking up stretching, suddenly they heard on the speaker, "Ah good morning", then the door opened as Starlight walked in.
"I trust you had a pleasant night", she asked with a smaug smile as they didn't say anything looking away.
"This way please, there are some friends that would like to see you", she walked back out as they hesitated before following her, they saw that the whole town was awake.
"Gather round friends gather round, we come to ask you if any of you are ready to join us, there are so many friends to be made once you realize you don't need your cutie mark".
She got in Twilights face, "Or the talent that come with them".
"We have a welcome ceremony for new friends, the whole village joins together to build you your own cottage-Not interested", Rainbow cut Double Diamond off.
"You may have them now, but we are gonna get our cutie marks back".
"Y'all don't understand do ya, ya can't force anypony to be friends, it don't work like that", Applejack spoke up.
"Please, join us".
"We love new friends".
"It's alright everypony, this is perfectly normal part for the Equalization process, for those who haven't..quite seen the light yet", the unicorn mare explained.
"We'll try again tomorrow once you have a bit more..time to consider our Philosophy", she nodded at the stallion causing the mares and two kids to start heading back inside.
Suddenly the colt stopped as an idea crossed his mind, he had enough of being scared, he needed to help his family.
"I...I like to join", that caused the villagers and Starlight to become excited while the six mares and filly turned to him.
"Spike, what are you doing", the shy Pegasus said with worry.
He started to walking towards the unicorn mare, "Are you sure I'll be happy without a cutie mark?"
She nodded, "Of course you will, you don't have to worry about anything", she promised him.
"Ok then, I'll stay here", he turned to his hurt mother and girlfriend.
"Why", the athletic filly said in a hurt voice.
"I'm sorry Scootaloo, but I don't wanna wast my life having a talent, and we should see other ponies", he said now standing next to the unicorn leader.
Then he looked up at her putting on a smile, "Can you teach me how to live my life without a cutie mark", Starlight nodded, a couple of fillies ran up to him and started nuzzling him glad that he's staying.
The six mares and filly walked back in the cottage feeling betrayed, Scootaloo felt tear's in her eyes that her boyfriend turned her back on her.
The unicorn leader turned to the colt, "We got ourselves a new friend everypony".
The villagers started hugging him and telling him things like, "You're one of us now", or, "My daughters would love to have you as a friend".
They broke it as Starlight walked up to him, "Now, there's one more order of business", she hugged him sounding hurt, "It seems some of the ponies might be, dissatisfied with the village life".
Everypony gasped in shock, "Unfortunately it's all too true my friends".
Then she got close to the colt, "Would you kindly tell us the names of those friends that so desperately missed their cutie marks that they would..sneak around in the shadows talking to strangers about it".
The two unicorns and Pegasus looked nervously as the village leader turned to them knowingly, then turned back to the athletic colt.
"Just so we can be sure your intentions are indeed..yours".
"I forgot, I don't know anyponies names and faces yet", he told her with a sheepish smile.
"Nonsense, obviously these ponies must of asked you directly, kindly point them out", she pointed a hoof at the villagers.
Suddenly they heard Party Favor say, "It was me, it was only me", everypony moved away from him as he ran towards the leader bowing, "I only wanted it back for a little while".
She lifted his chin, "And you quiet certain it was only you".
He looked away frowning, "I just wanted to remember what it was like".
"And no thought of the pain you caused your friends, such..selflessness", she pointed towards the open cottage as everypony glared at him in disappointment while he walked towards it.
Spike caught a glimpse of his mom and girlfriend in tears, he hated himself for breaking their heart, but he wanted to plan to look real.
"I'm sorry everypony, I never wanted to leave the village, I love all of yo-", his words were cut off when the door closed in his face as Sugar Belle and Night Glider felt bad.
In the cottage, Party Favor head buted the door in frustration causing his horn to stick to it, "What was I thinking, I can't believe I actually considered asking for my cutie mark back".
He turned to the mares and noticed the looks, he saw Fluttershy crying and mumbling, "W-Why would my little boy do this", she sniffed a few times.
"I can't believe Spike choosed them over us, I..I thought he loved us, I-I thought he loved me", he saw the athletic filly hugging her mother in tears, the stallion didn't say anything and just layed down in the corner.
Back outside, everypony was welcoming the colt as he was walking towards a cottage with Starlight, "You really are the nicest ponies I ever met".
"Come, you will stay with me untill your cottage is complete", he nodded in understanding and followed her.
The unicorn leader opened the door, "Let's get you settled and then you can enjoy all that our little village has to offer", she walked inside.
"Actually Starlight, can I live with you...a-and will you be my new mother", he asked forcing a smile looking up at her.
"You want me to be your mom?"
He nodded, "Please, raise me and teach me how to live the rest of my life talentless", she believed him and pulled him in for a hug.
She got an idea and realized her lessons could be taught through generations, "Of course I'll be your mother", he smiled and nuzzled her.
He thought to himself, "Don't worry mom and aunties, I'll get your cutie marks back, and I'm sorry Scootaloo".
