//------------------------------// // Chapter 1 // Story: Equestrias of Two Worlds // by Nic Nerdy //------------------------------// "So, care to explain why we are here, Diana?" Black Canary asked her friend, putting on her mask while running. "It's 12:30 pm. We should be eating right now instead of walking through a canyon." Green Lantern complained while running alongside the rest of their friends. About 30 minutes ago, Wonder Mare gathered her friends because she said there was something really urgent she had to show her friends, interrupting some of them while they were having lunch, others just taking a break from either their civilian jobs or from the job of being superheroes. Quickly putting on their outfits and meeting up with Wonder Mare at a cliff of a canyon near Ponyville, most of them flying down the cliff, or Batmare gliding down thanks to her cape, they have been running to where Wonder Mare said they had to go to. "I'll explain it to you when we get there." Wonder Mare replied, continuing to run ahead of her friends. "I'm just glad my shift at my parents' store ended when you came to me." Supermare flew above her friends in her blue and red outfit with the "S" shield representing her family crest on her chest. "If Diana says it's important, then it is to us," Batmare said with her exposed mouth not covered by her black cowl with bat ears, wearing a matching outfit with a yellow belt, booties, and cape. Flying up to Black Canary with her red wings, Mary Marvel spoke to her. "I'm glad I have free time to help you girls with this." "Yeah, it's pretty lucky if you ask me." Green Lantern flew with the aid of her Power Ring on her right front hoof, her short black hair complimenting well with her green eyes and fur. "We are here!" Wonder Mare shouted to her friends, who only stopped when they bumped into each other. What they all saw when they stopped was a huge cave entrance that was as tall as the doors to Ponyville Town Hall, which meant the entrance was taller than them by two feet. "It might be better if you see inside the cave." Wonder Mare said to her friends and they followed her inside. When they did follow her, it didn't take long for them to reach a stone ramp leading down further a cave, walking down it to the ground they saw it lead to. When they kept following Wonder Mare, they saw a wall right in front of them that shined and glowed when Green Lantern shined a green light from her ring on the wall. "Here we are." Wonder Mare turned around and showed off the cave wall. "A wall?" Black Canary was confused. "You brought us all the way to a wall in a cave?" "Barbara, would you care to throw a Batarang at the wall?" Wonder Mare asked her friend. "Sure, I guess." Batmare pulled out a Batarang and throw it at the wall. What happened when the bat-shaped projectile hit the wall was most interesting as all six ponies watched the glittering wall swallow the Batarang, pulling it in like the Batarang was a sinking boat drowning in water. "Wow, your Batarang just went through the wall!" Supermare was in awe and talked to her friend in the bat costume. "That... that wall is magic!" Green Lantern was in shock as well. "How did you find this place, Diana?" Black Canary inquired. "During my morning training here," Wonder Mare started to say. But she was interrupted by Supermare. "Oh, that makes sense." Letting that interruption go for now, Wonder Mare continued. "I was training here as usual when I flew on my third lap and saw the cave entrance, so I went inside and found this. I kicked a pebble and I saw it go through the wall like there was no solid surface on it." "Like the surface of the water and when you threw a pebble at it." Black Canary thought of it in a different way. "After that, I went back to the library and wrote a letter to Princess Celestia, telling her to meet us here as soon as she can." Wonder Mare continued her recap of earlier events. "So we can strike the wall and watch it ripple?" Mary Marvel asked before she started to charge her hooves with electricity. "Mary, I think that would be a really bad idea." Supermare tried to turn her friend away from striking the wall. "We have no idea what this thing is, not yet anyway." Batmare tried to reason. "Come on, what's the worst that can happen?" Mary Marvel said before she sent a lightning bolt at the glittering wall. That only caused problems for the six costumed ponies for when the bolt did the wall, the wall started to look like it could explode, which didn't while something else did. Feeling like they were being pulled toward the wall, which started to form a whirlpool and generated wind that started to pull them to him, despite most of them having incredible strength and Wonder Mare wrapping a stalagmite with her Lasso of Truth, said stalagmite breaking form the ceiling and allowing Wonder Mare to fall into the wall, the others soon falling in as well, and ending with Mary Marvel screaming as she went in. After all the ponies went through, the wall stabilized and stopped forming the image of the whirlpool. Falling through a swirling vortex of multiple colors, the Super Six screamed as they saw an unknown number of images and moments throughout time and space like they were seeing multiple possible events or moments in their lives and events they aren't involved in. After what felt like a minute, the ponies landed on grass-covered grounds, most of them groaning as they did so. "Well, I think we landed somewhere." Black Canary said and was on her back as she spoke. Getting up from where she had fallen on top of Supermare, Batmare looked at their surroundings to see statues depicting ponies in regal capes and each holding or interacting with several items in their hooves, trimmed bushes, trees, and a hedge maze that made the corn maze for the Nightmare Night celebrations look smaller by comparison. But what she found next was her Batarang on the ground and picked it up from the ground. Seeing her Amazon friend on the ground, Batmare helped Wonder Mare up from where she had fallen on her chest, "I don't think we are in Ponyville anymore." Seeing the surroundings, Wonder Mare recognized the artwork and realized where they were. "Girls, I think we are in Canterlot." "What makes you think that, Diana?" Green Lantern questioned the Amazon princess. "I recognize these statues from my three-week stay here before I met all of you. Steve took me here because I felt homesick and these statues reminded me of my home." Wonder Mare looked at one of the statues. "Which means we are in the Royal Gardens." "Maybe that wall sent us here when I struck it?" Mary Marvel wondered. "Sorry for that, by the way." "Just make sure to never do it again." Black Canary told her other alicorn friend. "We should inform the princesses we are here and tell them we will be on our way." Wonder Mare thought up a plan before she started to walk forward and was nearly stabbed in the eye by a spear. The spear was being held by a unicorn Royal Guard in his gold armor protecting his white fur, who was also with several other colors of the standard Royal Guards holding spears at the six ponies in the colorful costumes. "Stay where you are, intruders!" The guard holding the spear at Wonder Mare had ordered them. "Sirs, we didn't mean to come here. We just got here by accident." Supermare told them, knowing she could knock the spears from them but didn't want to start a fight. "That's what they all say." The guard joked with them. "Now, tell us who you six are!" "You don't recognize us?" Wonder Mare was rather confused at how the guards could not easily tell who they are. "You must've been living under a rock if you don't know who we are." Mary Marvel tried to lessen the tension to no avail. "Clearly you ponies must be dressed a little too early for Nightmare Night if you are wearing those costumes." The guard said, looking at Batmare's costume in particular. "These are our uniforms and armor." Batmare defended herself and her friends. "Wait, maybe the name, "Super Six", rings any bells?" Black Canary suggested, hoping that will make the guards understand. "Never heard of you of you before." The guard didn't recognize them. "Mary, show them your wings." Wonder Mare commanded her fellow alicorn and the both of them showed off their wings and horns to the now stunned guards. "Two more alicorns?" The gray coated guard questioned in disbelief. "How many more princesses are there?" Another guard wondered. "While my friend is not a princess, I am one. My name is Princess Diana and I order that you will escort us to Princess Celestia and Princess Luna." Wonder Mare ordered the stunned guards, hoping that they will see reason. Thinking it over, the lead guard made up his mind. "Stallions, escort these six ponies inside the castle while I inform the princesses before your arrival." The guard then left the Super Six in the care of the other guards. "You heard the captain, let's get them to the princesses." One of the guards said, him and the others moving the six costumed ponies out of the royal garden. Following the orders given to them, the Super Six went along with the guards inside the castle and had to deal with castle employees staring in curiosity at the ponies wearing the colorful clothing and armor in Wonder Mare's case, curiosity being further increased by the two alicorns in the group. "Not to state the obvious, but I'm starting to think not a single pony knows who we are," Supermare whispered to her friends, not anypony in particular, just somepony who would also point out the weirdness. "I would get they wouldn't know who most of us if we weren't in our outfits, but we are wearing them and no pony is asking for our autograph." Black Canary agreed with Supermare. "Once we talk to the princesses, I'll talk with them and let them know this is all a misunderstanding." Wonder Mare assured her friends/teammates. After another minute of walking through the halls of Conterlot Castle and getting odd looks from ponies, the guards stopped with the Super Six in front of them at the doors to the throne room of the castle where Princess Celestia and Princess Luna sit upon their thrones, where they either sign papers or just sit around all day. Standing in front of the Super Six was the guard given the command by the captain to escort them here. "The rest of us will stand guard while I'll escort you all into the throne room, don't get any funny ideas." The guard warned them and used the magic from his horn to open the doors, revealing the throne room to the six ponies and walked on a carpet leading to the thrones occupied by the Princesses, with royal tapestries on the wall representing the celestial bodies both ponies represent. "Your highnesses, I present to you the intruders from the royal garden." The guard stepped aside to introduce the ponies. "Seems the captain was right, there are two alicorns." Princess Luna, with her dark blue colors, noted to her sister. "This is rather curious. What are your names?" Princess Celestia questioned the ponies. "Your highnesses, you know who we are. Luna, we freed you from being possessed by the Eclipso Diamond only a month ago, ending your role as Nightmare Eclipso forever. Celestia, you are my mother's greatest friend before you brought me to life from clay." Wonder Mare recalled her connections to the two sisters. "I don't recall bringing clay to life and my sister was corrupted into Nightmare Moon, not Nightmare Eclipso." Celestia didn't agree with Wonder Mare's recollection of past events. "Hold on, you really have no idea who we are?" Supermare was utterly baffled. "Does Paradise Island bring anything to mind?" Batmare asked as she had an idea of what was going on. "I don't recall seeing it on a map, but it does sound lovely judging by the name," Luna said with a slight chuckle. That was all Batmare needed to help her put things together. "Girls, I think are in a different universe." "You mean we are on an entirely different world with slight similarities and a lot of things different from what we know?" Green Lantern questioned her more scientifically knowledgeable friend. "Which means that cave wall is some sorta doorway here." Batmare thought over with her friends. "That would explain the conflicting histories." Celestia jumped into the conversation. "This might require the attention of Twilight and her friends." "I'll write a letter to them now," Luna said as she stepped off her throne and walked out of the room. "You all must be hungry from your travel to this world." Celestia guessed about the six ponies. "Why don't I have the chiefs prepare some food and refreshments?" "Thank you, Princess." Wonder Mare thanked her. "Some of us were starving before we got here." Mary Marvel nudged Green Lantern on the side with her right hoof, winking as well. "While we eat, we will explain who we are," Supermare said and started following the Princess of the Day with her friends. Entering the royal dining without needing guards to keep watch over them, per Celestia's orders, the Super Six sat with the Princess at a long table that could be a place for plates, silverware, and drinking glasses to rest on. Stained-glass murals were set into the windows of the room, a golden chandelier hanging from the curtain covered ceiling, and curtains hanging around the room. Sitting close to Celestia was Wonder Mare as the others sat on cushioned chairs in different spots, with Celestia sitting at one end of the table. After Celestia asked what everypony wanted, the chiefs fixed up and served the food to the ponies, some meals being held off until more guests arrive. "Now, you are a princess, yes?" Celestia asked Wonder Mare, who was drinking a glass of water. "Yes, your highness. I'm the Princess of Paradise Island, home to the Amazons our Celestia provided it for. Ours is one of my mother's greatest friends and she not only did my mother, my aunt, and my fellow Amazons a favor with the island, but she also brought a clay statue of a foal made by her to life, creating me." Wonder Mare remembered the stories told by her mother and aunt as far as she could remember. "What brought you to your world's Equestria?" Celestia asked her fellow alicorn. "It was a stallion in our Celestia's royal guard that crashed on her island and Diana won the right to go to Equestria in order to take him home, where she met all of us much later." Mary Marvel stopped eating ice cream and gave an explanation, before getting back to eating from the bowel. "Sounds like an interesting series of events." Celestia giggled at what she was told, sipping a cup of tea. Suddenly, everypony turned their heads to a pair of closed doors, hearing knocking on it. "Sister, Twilight and her friends are here." The ponies heard Luna announce to Celestia. "You may enter," Celestia informed her younger sister. Opening the doors, Princess Luna let in a group of six ponies that in this world are the legendary saviors of this version of Equestria. Princess Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie, along with Spike the Dragon, all walk into the room where they see the Super Six eating with Celestia. "Princess Celestia, we left as soon as we got the letter." Twilight was the first of the group of friends to speak. "You said something about ponies from another world." "Indeed I have, Twilight," Celestia replied and motioned her left hoof to the Super Six. "May I introduce... I'm sorry, I never got either of your names." "I'm Princess Diana, or you can call me Wonder Mare." Wonder Mare introduced herself before turning to her friends. "Girls, I think we say our real names to them, they look friendly enough we can trust them." Batmare took off her cowl to show off her purple fur and red mane. "Barbara Gordon, or Batmare if you want." "Kara Danvers, or Supermare to anypony who doesn't know my secret identity." Supermare waved at them. "Jessica Cruz, Green Lantern, because of the lantern that recharges my ring." Green Lantern showed off her ring. "Very beautiful, darling." Rarity complemented Green Lantern when she saw the ring. "Dinah Lance, Black Canary to the stallions at the gym because of a sonic screech I have." Black Canary took off her mask. "Mary Marvel," Mary Marvel said and smiled before looking at her friends and the other six ponies with the dragon. "I'm still not ready to tell my real name." "It's alright with us, sugarcube." Applejack assured her. Looking closer at Wonder Mare and Mary Marvel, Rainbow Dash identified their horns and wings. "Excuse me, Wonder Mare and Mary Marvel, are you alicorns?" "Yes." Wonder Mare and Mary Marvel said at the exact same time. "Then you must princesses too." Twilight guessed like everypony else already had. "I'm a princess, Mary isn't." Wonder Mare confirmed for them. "That's so awesome!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed in excitement. "Wait a sec, are you superheroes?" Spike got everypony's attention when he asked, the costumes making him think so. "Yes, we are superheroes in our world." Black Canary replied to the dragon. "Wow, that is supertastic!" Pinkie Pie made up words to describe what she thought. "She does know that isn't a real word, right?" Batmare asked anypony in the group. "It's Pinkie Pie, best if you don't question it." Applejack recommended to Batmare. "So, who are all of you?" Wonder Mare asked the group of friends. "I'm Twilight Sparkle." The violet alicorn said. "Applejack." The orange earth pony introduced herself. "Name's Rainbow Dash, wonderbolt, and fastest flyer in Equestria." Rainbow Dash not only introduced herself but boosted her ego. "Rarity." Rarity whipped her purple mane. "Pinkie Pie, most fun pony in Equestria that wants you to smile." Pinkie Pie bounced into the ceiling up and back down. The last pony was Fluttershy, who stayed silent the whole time. "I'm Fluttershy." The last member of the group was Spike as Twilight went over to him. "This is Spike, my personal assistant and the dragon I can always count on." Twilight introduced him. "That's cool to have a dragon on your side." Mary Marvel told Twilight. "Why don't you join us for lunch?" Celestia asked the ponies standing. Taking their seats at the table, the 6 ponies and the dragon joined everypony else in eating whatever they selected and talked with each other, Twilight and Wonder Mare sitting across from each other. "So, you didn't always have wings?" Wonder Mare was being told of Twilight's past. "I had to go through a lot of lessons on friendship, needed to finish completing a spell that switched my friend's cutie marks, and she gave me wings with the added bonus of being a princess." Twilight recounted and looked at Celestia, who smiled as she spoke. "My mother is the queen of an entire island populated only by mares." Wonder Mare informed Twilight, who looked in shock at the idea. "Sounds really wonderful, if you ask me." Rarity sounded delighted. "I bet the dresses are lovely there." "The Amazons aren't really known for being too interested in dresses, they usually prefer to wear armor." Wonder Mare corrected Rarity. Rarity was a little disappointed with the answer. "Well, everypony has their way of living, I accept that." Meanwhile, Green Lantern and Supermare were talking with Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash about their lives. "Must be exhausting to take care of animals, Fluttershy." Green Lantern said to the shy pegasus. "It might be sometimes, but it is worth it to spend time with all kinds of animals." Fluttershy took pride in doing what she loves. "Rainbow Dash, you performed a Sonic Rainboom?" Green Lantern asked the athletic loyal pegasus. "We don't know of anypony in our world doing that before." Supermare was a little jealous. "Though, it makes perfect sense with your name." "Yeah, it is like my name lead to my destiny. Also, when I did for the first time, it helped all six of us get our cutie marks." Rainbow Dash remembered the realization they all had a long time ago. "That sounds like one big coincidence if you ask me." Mary Marvel was in disbelief at what she was hearing. "But kinda sweet too." "There was even a pony who went back in time to stop the Rainboom from ever happening, leading to several bad versions of the timeline. But Twilight convinced her to stop and she is now our friend." Pinkie Pie informed the Super Six in an excited manner and they just looked a little confused and concerned. "She hasn't done anything evil recently before or after, right?" Black Canary asked out of her curiosity. "Before that, she enslaved a town into believing all cutie marks are evil." Pinkie Pie blurted out again. "After the time travel, she used mind con..." She wanted to continue, but Applejack threw a cupcake into her mouth to silence the party pony. Hitting her teacup, Celestia got everypony's attention. "Anyway, I think Twilight has an idea to get you six home," Celestia said to the Super Six. "But it means we are gonna need to head to Ponyville so you can see what I have in mind." Twilight gave the Super Six information. "Oh, we can get to see another Ponyville?" Batmare was excited at getting to see how different things are. "Since nopony knows who we are, we don't even need to be in our clothes." Wonder Mare thought of and most the ponies thought nothing bad could happen. "I won't take my cape off." Mary Marvel already stated her own input. "What about the lightning bolt?" Spike pointed his right claw at Mary Marvel's chest, which had a golden bolt on it. Mary Marvel looked like she was afraid Spike could rip it off. "It's kinda stuck to me like a cutie mark." She told Spike and showed her cutie mark off, matching the symbol on her chest. "We'll follow you girls to your Ponyville if it means there is a way to get back home." Black Canary agreed with Twilight's plan, the others nodding with her. "Then it is settled. Elements of Justice?" Wonder Mare asked her friends and they knew to stand up. "Elements of Harmony?" Twilight asked her own group of friends. "To Ponyville!" All 12 of them cheered in unison. "But can we finish our food first?" Rainbow Dash asked any of the two leaders. "I haven't had anything to eat before we got here." "Fine. Then we pack the Super Six's stuff into suitcases and get on the train back to Ponyville." Twilight settled on what Rainbow Dash had asked. "To Ponyville!" All 12 shouted in unison again, while Spike, Celestia, and Luna watched in amusement.
