//------------------------------// // Prologue // Story: EoH Evolution: Season 6 // by Bahamut0 //------------------------------// Celestia let out a sigh as she finished lowering the sun past the horizon. Another day had come to an end as quickly as it had began, and the peaceful cloak of night draped over the kingdom of Unity. Now that she was finished with her duties, Celestia could enjoy a quiet and peaceful evening with her sister and Nightmare Moon. However, the evening soon became anything but quiet. From out of seemingly nowhere, a massive lightning storm had formed in the skies above Castalot! Thunder cracked throughout the heavens as lightning bolt streaked violently yet seamlessly across the sky! Upon seeing the sudden weather phenomenon, Celestia was confused. There wasn't any storm in the forecast, and the Everfree Forest's weather was still contained within its ocean of trees. "What in the world could be causing this?" Celestia asked herself as she teleported to the iconic balcony that gave her a view of the city, and the city a view of her. The storm's thunder booming as if acknowledging her observation, and the lightning dancing more excitedly than ever! It wasn't long before Celestia had company. "Luna. Moon. I take it the storm's caught your attention, too?" "It would be pretty hard for us to not notice it." Nightmare Moon replied as she and Luna stood next to Celestia. "It's hard to believe that something that rages like this is so calm at its center." "True enough." Celestia said with a smile as she watched the lightning dance. "And storm's also have a strange mix of dark and light to them, too. All those dark clouds lit up by a flash of lightning." And the three princesses continued to observe the lightning storm. However, as they watched the storm, Celestia and Nightmare Moon spotted the vague silhouette of a figure flying right in the middle of the storm! They were about to intervene, but it seemed that the lightning arced around the figure! And as the lightning flashed, the figure's silhouette was briefly illuminated as it descended towards the ground. "Whoever that was, they must either be brave or foolish." Luna stated. "Or, they're incredibly lucky to not have been struck by the lightning." "All that matters is that they're safe on the ground now." Celestia said with a sigh of relief. "It's just been one storm after another in the city, hasn't it?" "Between that Paradox guy bringing in those dragons while trying to make his own little dimension here, and Blitz Surge setting up Lancer Headquarters here in Castalot, the storm outside's more appealing." Nightmare Moon huffed. "Honestly, Luna, can't you just decommission that pack of jerks?" "I. . . I don't want to be too hasty." Luna replied nervously. "Blitz might think I've betrayed him if I were to do that without warning." "Luna. He picked a fight with Twilight in her own castle. That's grounds for assaulting royalty." Nightmare Moon argued with a frown. "Or is your crush affecting your common sense? Last time I checked, you and Blitz Surge didn't go out on dates all that much." "He's. . . very committed to his duties with the Lancers." Luna countered with a blush on her face. "I hope someday, he'll make a commitment that binds us together." "It's no excuse, Luna." Celestia sighed. "Especially since the last time I made you feel neglected, I lost you for a thousand years. And I will never forgive Blitz Surge if he pushes you even a step close to that point." "You sure you couldn't just have me torment him with nightmares each time he tries to sleep?" Nightmare Moon chimed in with a smirk. "He deserves it for all the crap he's pulled." "T-There's no need to go that far!" Luna snapped! "Please, for the heavens' sake, leave my relationship out of this!" And she teleported away with a flustered look on her face. "I wonder how Twilight and her friends are weathering the storm?" Celestia thought out-loud. As soon as she'd said that, the Main 6 and Elements of Heroism collectively sneezed as they observed reports of the storm on TV. Meanwhile, the figure that had been flying in the storm touched down on the streets of Castalot. With how fierce the storm was, most people were shutting themselves indoors. The new arrival, however, strolled along the city streets like they were going on a pleasant evening stroll. The flashes of lightning briefly disclosing their true appearance. The figure was a young man with an outfit that looked like he'd been in the fight of his life. His coat was especially ragged due to the holes torn through it from a pair of wings on the young man's back. Almost as if the wings had suddenly sprouted without any explanation. As the young man walked, he soon heard his stomach growl a bit before spotting Donut Joe's shop. Smiling, he made his way over to the shop and headed inside. However, he was soon greeted by an unpleasant sight. Three of the Lancers, Lightning Dust, Garble, and Lance Slayer were harassing Joe. "What's the deal with this bill, huh?" Lance snapped as he waved the bill in front of Joe's face. "You should be giving us these donuts on the house! Do you know who we are? We're the Lancers! We risked out lives to fight for this city just a few days ago! Not to mention we went to apprehend a dangerous individual not that long ago!" "And to do that, you tried to fight against the Princess of Friendship. Who just so happens to be one of my favorite patrons." Joe shot back with a glare. "Not to mention, your 'great leader' disbanded the Elements of Heroism after they worked so hard to protect us!" "Those guys are old news, man!" LIghtning Dust cackled. "With Blitz Surge, the REAL heroes are in the spotlight now!" At hearing all this, the young man frowned before letting out a sigh of frustration. He was definitely not happy to hear the current events that had transpired. But at the moment, he was more upset with the Lancers harassing Donut Joe. So, he decided to do something about. He went over to the Lancers' table, and snatched the platter of donuts they'd been gorging themselves on! "HEY!" Garble snapped as he glared at the young man! "Those were ours!" "If you say these donuts aren't worth your money, then your business is worthless here." The young man replied as he dumped the platter into the nearby trash can! Earning glares from the Lancers and a smile from Donut Joe. He then made his way to the counter. "One chocolate cake donut, please. Oh! And a glass of milk too." "Hey you." Lance said with a nasty smile as he stomped over to the young man. "I don't know who you think you are, but you obviously don't know who you're dealing with!" "Clearly you're not worth knowing." The young man quipped. Earning low growls from the Lancers! "Those wings. . . " Lance said as he noticed the young man's wings. "Those're dragon wings." His eyes then narrowed. "Y'know, you remind me of this guy that really gets me mad. He had a pair of dragon wings, too. And a freak like him gets the Element of Generosity as his girlfriend? Disgusting!" "Maybe she chose him because he's a better person than you." The young man retorted. Happily accepting the donut and milk Joe gave him. "Then again, that's not too hard to do considering I just saw you giving the owner trouble instead of being mature and paying your bill." "You better watch who you're talking to, punk." Garble said with a sneer. "We're heroes." "Hmph." The young man smirked as he turned to face the Lancers. "Suuure you are." He'd just placed the donut in his mouth when Lance swung at him with a right hook! The young man ducked just in time, and slugged Lance in the gut! Winding the Lancer greatly! Garble and Lightning Dust were about to rush the young man, but he used Lance like a springboard and pushed off him with his legs! The pair was so stunned at how fast the guy was that Lightning Dust couldn't guard herself from the swift kick to the face the young man delivered! The female Lancer falling to the ground with a groan! Garble, despite seeing his colleagues bested so easily, chose to charge at the young man. He received a slap in the face from the guy's wings for his troubles. While Garble was stunned, the young man delivered a powerful punch to Garble's face! Knocking the drake out cold! Nodding in satisfaction at his handiwork, the young man turned to face Lance Slayer. Gesturing for the enraged Lancer to come and get him with a smirk on his face! Lance, furious at being mocked, charged at the young man blindly! His fist poised to brutally strike the young man! Unfortunately for Lance, the young man caught his fist and executed a devastating upper cut, punching Lance's lights out! Once the fight, if it could even be called that, was over, the young man knelt down and removed the unconscious Lance's wallet. Presenting it to Joe with a bright smile as he bit down on his donut. "So. How much do they owe you?" The young man asked. "I think they've paid enough." Joe grinned. "But I say throw 'em out into the storm for good measure." "No problem." The young man smiled as he tossed the Lancers out into the storm before heading back inside. Scarfing down the rest of his donut and chugging the milk he'd ordered. "So what do I owe you?" "On the house, kid." Joe chuckled. "Thanks for sticking it to these thugs." "I don't like bullies." The young man replied as he got up to leave. "See ya around!" "Be careful gettin' home in the storm!" Joe called out. "Don't need to." The young man said with a smile as he left the shop. The flashes of lightning sparking like his electric-blue eyes. "I'm already home. . . "
