(The nametag Mayor Mare placed in my hoof hadn't been all I was given. A leg-band bearing a star that mirrored the pocket of a matching, familiar chestnut vest had been clutched with care in the hooves of Mayor Mare. Holding in front of me, she had said...

"Winter Wrap-Up's Fauna team in Ponyville has always had some of the greatest difficulty. If your skills are as adept as that mark of yours makes me believe they will be, I think I'll finally have a team captain that can be counted on."

The way her eyes twinkled behind her glasses made my breath all too easy to hold that day. When I had emptied my portfolio to Mayor Mare, there was a sense of peace that came with it. I hadn't just showed off the most well-displayed of my self-made home office clutter and the high marks in my academics I had never been able to easily let go of; they weren't perfect, but they were enough to get looks from magic academies and universities, if I ever applied to one. It was something.

Just like my new mark had been something, and how it had twinkled with the newness to contrast to her wisdom. There was a sense of completion emptying all those folders and getting to really talk to somepony as someone other than their daughter. I hadn't just organized papers; I'd organized me. I wasn't a mare to fall to quirks and dorkiness, I was somepony who pushed for polish and declutter in ponies too. Helping Mayor Mare see that I wanted to be part of the Ponyville community for everypony's sake - including my own - by telling her how I could deal with a place of management taken town-wide was what I needed. That was the day I had to hear that I could plan things for a Winter Wrap-Up team or assign Summer Sun Celebration tasks; I hadn't rehearsed those things enough outside of my own head, and so much weight built up.

Of course, I needed the little golden badge all the town hall staff had, too.

Mine said Amethyst Sparkler, and I was to be Ponyville's uncontested top organizer.)
