//------------------------------// // 1. Let the Thrills Begin // Story: A Horror Filled Night at 13 Dead End Drive // by Brian Sheil //------------------------------// On a quiet afternoon, Twilight Sparkle and her friends were walking with a twelve year old girl named Julie down the street. Julie was a red haired girl wearing a red flannel shirt and capri style blue jeans. She also has on sky blue sneakers that look lovely. “Thanks for spending the night at my house, girls.” Julie said happily. “No problem.” Twilight Sparkle replied. “I feel very honored to attend your thirteenth birthday.” “We all do, darling.” Rarity added. “And, we get to perform for your birthday too.” “I’m looking forward to that.” Sunset Shimmer said. “One question.” Rainbow Dash wondered “Where is your house, Julie?” Soon, the eight girls stopped in front of a huge mansion. Everyone is amazed at the sight of this place. Just then, Fluttershy got very scared. “Oh no!” Fluttershy said with fear. “Not this place. This is 13 Dead End Drive!” “13 Dead End Drive?” Twilight yelped. “Isn’t this the mansion where a lot of creepiness happens?” “That’s what I heard.” Applejack answered. Julie soon told the girls her story. “My eccentric aunt Agatha left me and my family this place and her fortune after she passed away. This weekend, my mother and father are away. But, they’ll be back tomorrow for my birthday.” “That’s a relief.” Pinkie Pie said. As the girls entered the house, they were greeted by a tall man wearing a tuxedo. He speaks with a British accent. “Welcome back, Miss Julie.” “Hello, Smothers.” Julie responded. “My seven friends are spending the night here.” “Oh yes. The Rainbooms. Some friends of mine saw your performances. Anything you need, just let me know.” Rainbow Dash looked at Smothers with a bit of worry. “Thanks, Dracula.” The friends sit on couches in the living room. They were amazed by the size of the place. “I can’t believe you and your family inherited this place.” Pinkie Pie cheered. “That makes two of us, Pinkie.” Julie replied, stroking a big cuddly pussycat. “I never thought I would live in this mansion. But, we’re very happy here. My family and I are pleased with this place.” She then turns to the cat. “Right, Poopsie?” The cat purred happily. Fluttershy loves the looks of that cat. “Poopsie. That’s a cute name for a cat.” “Thanks, Fluttershy. She used to belong to Aunt Agatha. Before I was named the heir to this place, the servants and other characters fought with each other for the fortune.” “Like that zombie who greeted us?” Rainbow Dash asked. “Smothers? He has been a servant to Agatha and the family for years.” “What would that man do if he got this fortune?” “I’ll tell you the answer, Miss Dash.” Smothers replied as he suddenly appears. “With Miss Agatha’s fortune, I would retire and travel the world.” “Many people would have that dream.” Applejack said. “You maybe right. Anyway, my friends, your bags are in the guest rooms. Will there be anything else, Miss Julie?” “Not now, Smothers.” Julie answered. “Take a ten minute rest break.” Smothers bowed to the guests, and left the room. “That butler is a bit creepy.” Twilight said. “This whole mansion is creepy.” Pinkie Pie added. “I’m worried.” “I’m with Pinkie Pie.” Sunset said with concern. “There are a lot of scary stories about this place.” “I was a bit worried myself when I learned of 13 Dead End Drive.” Julie confessed. “But, nothing will scare me out of this mansion!” The girls applauded Julie for her bravery. She then stood up. “I’m going out for a while to get a new outfit for my birthday celebration. You guys can look around and meet more of the staff.” As Julie left the room, the girls got concerned. “I hope nothing bad will happen to us.” Fluttershy quivered. “Indeed, darling.” Rarity replied. “13 Dead End Drive has a dark reputation.” Twilight got everyone’s attention. “Calm down. Maybe there’s nothing to worry about.” “Yeah!” Rainbow agreed. “It’s just an old mansion.” “Let’s be careful anyway.” Sunset suggested. “You never know what will happen here.”
