"Let's do this." Zade said.
That was the signal. He and his companions bursted into the throne room, just in time to see Twilegion sending Riptide to fly toward them like a bullet. They moved away from the trajectory, leaving the Night Guard being slammed at the end of the corridor behind them, and returned their attention to their host.
"You really deserved that, you traitor," Jace murmured.
The throne room was structured with rows of obsidian columns and the floor made of emerald marble. Twilegion was in front of their eyes, sitting in a giant sword shaped throne made entirely of gold. Behind it there was a balcony facing the city and a dark azure sky. Twilegion glared at them with a bit of anger and expectation. Zade and his companions were intimidated by that, but maintained their calm as much as they can. Fear was not contemplated.
"My order was put into a state of chaos because of the Insurgence," Twilegion declared. "And was worsened even more by villains like you. Tell me, what do you expect to gain by helping my enemies? You weren't obviously thinking to use them to conquer my land this easily, i hope. If it's that so, then you were more delusional of than I have expected."
"We don't give a damn about your order," Zade said. "We just want to put a end to this mess and go back home."
"Ah, you really think you can defeat me?" Twilegion demanded sternly. "You are seriously thinking to crush the world that I have just saved from those like you?"
"My point is still standing," Jace said convinced. "I will not bow to any screwed up harmony, so fuck your authority!"
"Just because you know who I really am, doesn't mean that I am going easy on you, fire demon," Twilegion said. "Tell me. Was Starlight the one who told you about me?"
"It doesn't matter to us," Sera said. "Since you were hunting us down, we will kick your ass."
"You didn't give us much choices, you know?" Zade said frankly.
"You have talked far enough!" Twilegion declared as she charged her horn and shot a dark colored rainbow of energy on the four demonic ponies.
Zade and his companions dodged the blow and began their counterattack. Jace shots multiple lightnings from his mouth while Zade charged his hoof with a purple energy.
"REPPUKEN!" Zade shouted as he launched a wave of purple energy at Twilegion.
The empirical alicorn creates a barrier of magic energy that blocked their attacks. As Twilegion lowered her defenses, Sere hoovered in mid air and flew toward her. Before Twilegion could realize that, Sera already approached her and kicked her upwards with all her strength, sending the alicorn to fly upwards. Sera then proceeded to teleport in front of the flying ruler and kicked her again, sending her to fly again. She then teleported in front of her and kicked her again. Sera teleported one third time and dived down on Twilegion, dragging her to the ground before dismounting and attack her again.
The last hit was blocked by Twilegion blocking Sera with her magic.
"You vermin!" Twilegion roared before sending Sera to fly against the wall.
As Twilegion was about to rose up, Chris turned his hoof into the Soul Edged and slammed it on the floor, causing a wave of destructive energy that traveled toward her. The alicorn flapped her wings and hoovered in mid air, avoiding the wave that ended destroying one of the columns.
Twilegion charged her horn and unleashed multiple rays of energy that rained down on them with destructive impact.
"Move it!" Zade ordered as he, Jace and Chris rushed toward were Twilegion was, dribbling and avoiding being hit by the rays.
Sera took her time to recover from being slammed and summoned a legion of skeletal spectral behemots that rushed toward Twilegion. The alicorn turned shot a very devastating laser that razed the entire army of monsters. Twilegion then disappeared and reappeared in front of her.
"Oh, no." Zade said as he galloped toward the two.
"You are the first to meet the end." Twilegion said coldly to Sera.
Before Twilegion was about to give Sera the coup de grace, Zade reached the alicorn, rolled under her and raised his hooves upwards.
"RAGING STORM!" Zade shouted as he slammed his hooves on the floor, causing very powerful geysers of energy rising from below and around him that sent Twilegion flying away from Sera and made her fall on the ground.
Jace, Chris and Sera were greatly impressed by that display of power. Even Zade himself was left speechless. As for Twilegion, she was laying on the emerald floor, apparently unconscious. The four ponies slowly approached her but kept their distance from her.
"I can understand Sera emulating Izanami's Stake of Supremacy," Jace said. "But you just managed blast her away!"
"We did it?" Chris demanded.
"I don't think so." Zade responded.
Twilegion instantly opened her eyes and glared at them. The four ponies couldn't do anything that they found themselves being paralyzed by some unknown force.
"I... Can't... Move!" Sera said forcefully.
"What... Is it!?" Zade asked.
"It's... The stare." Jace suggested.
Exploiting their difficulty to move, Twilegion stood up and hoovered in the air to fly at full speed toward them, unleashing a Sonic Rainboom that blows them away while destroying part of the floor. Zade and his companions ended up rolling toward the entrance.
The alicorn then teleported above them, near to the ceiling, and charged her horn with a ominous energy, pointed at the group. Zade and his companions slowly stood up and observed Twilegion furiously looking at them as the glow of her horn became more menacing. At that, Zade knows what to do.
"Jace! The teleport!" Zade ordered.
But it was too late.
"THIS ENDS NOW!!" Twilegion exclaimed as she released her energy in a very gigantic beam that destroyed grand part of the throne room and overwhelmed them.
The beam steadily shrunk until it dissolved, leaving the aftermath of her attack to be saw. The throne room was almost reduced in a wreck and the four ponies were now laying on the floor, battered and, for a little extend, bleeding. They looked dilapidated and exhausted. Zade forcefully stood up while trying to resist to the pain and watched the scene in awe. His companions were gravely injured and Twilegion slowly descended triumphantly.
Zade won't even believe at what was happening. It was entranced and very afraid.
"Is this our end?" Zade demanded.
Just when Twilegion landed in front of him, a sudden voice inside him made his presence known without even asking any permission.
"No, there's another way."
