“Congratulation, Mrs. Leaf. You’ve given birth to a healthy foal. Now he’s at stable condition,” The nurse says after the team took the baby for treatment.
“C-can...I...see him?” Mrs. Leaf asks, her words are separated by her breathing.
“Sure, just hold on for a moment.” The nurse then goes back to the treating room to take care of the foal first before bringing him back to his mother.
Mrs. Leaf lets out tears of joy as she takes her newborn foal into her clutch. A dark blue male unicorn with cyan and blue mane and tail that looks like a cluster of magic fireflies surrounded by the darkness of the night rests soundly in his mother’s clutch. Sometimes, he would opens his eyes, revealing the shiny light blue eyes.
She spends some time with him as the father, Mr. Hay, watches them. Some tears are rolling down from his eyes, down onto his cheeks, and then fall to the floor or get wiped. Happiness and love fill Mr. Hay and Mrs. Leaf whole.
"So, what name are you going to give to our little boy?" Mr. Hay kneels down and rest his head over his hooves, still looking at the soundless newborn foal.
Mrs. Leaf thinks for a name to give to her foal. With blank mind, she keeps staring at him, still resting soundly. Suddenly, she remembers that his husband is a great stealth soldier. He even has records of getting enemy intel, surprise attack, and sniping.
Mrs. Leaf giggles then says, "Info Watch."
"That's...quite interesting." Mr. Leaf responds while looking at Info.
"Well, you're great at getting something and chill when doing it. Beside, you've been staring at our valuable Info for awhile now."
"You got me." Mr. Hay smiles widely. Mrs. Leaf then smiles back.
"So, Info Watch."
"Yes. Our Info." Mrs. Leaf hugs Info with her heart, giving him all the love she has. Mr. Hay joins the hug shortly.
Months after Info's birth, Mr. Hay and Mrs. Leaf take care of Info and treat him as all foal should be. Sometimes, they even bring him for an adventurous trip such as exploring caves, rafting, and riding a helicopter. Little Info has been to many places and experienced many things.
At the age of 12, Info is introduced into military by his father. Just like many colts, Info is amazed by the vehicles, skills, and of course, appearance. Right after Info has passed 5th grade, he learns more about military and finding more information about it. The feeling everytime he searches for more military-related information and reading it is like how a miner feels when he finds a cave full of gems, overwhelmly excited.
Starting from the age of 17, Info is attracted to many military-related things and discover more facts from time to time. Knowing many military facts makes him a walking intel, thus Info spends his youth living like a soldier. Info is also a member of an airsoft community, Sharpshooter Squad. Everytime after school if he's not busy with homework, Info goes to the place where the members would meet everyday, which is near the edge of the city.
One day, a pearl white pegasus with orange and yellow mane looking like a dancing flame joins the community.
"Welcome to the Sharpshooter Squad, fresh member!" Flow, the community leader, says as he gives the white pegasus a friendly smile as a welcome. "Please stand in front of the room and introduce yourself!"
With that said, the white pegasus stands up and go in front of the room, looking chilled as he takes the introduction as a small party.
"Good evening, everypony. My name is Arrow Flight. I'm 18 years old, and I'm from Manehattan."
"I see. Mind to say the reason why you join us?"
Arrow smirks, "Simple, I want to improve my shooting for my future career."
"I see. What do you want to be?"
"Fighter jet pilot." Arrow looks at Flow, still smirking.
"Huh. That's doesn't really make sense, Arrow. Aren't pilots only fly aircrafts and spend most of their life in the sky?"
"Heh, I knew you'd react like that. Yeah, I know. Even as a fighter jet pilot, we still need to learn how to shoot. Beside, what if the aircraft crashes and you're close to enemy line?"
"I think I get your point." Flow starts to understand what Arrow just said.
"Thank you, Sir!"
Flow shakes his head and says in a low voice, "That's kind of you…. Get back to your chair and thank you for your introduction."
Obeying the instruction, Arrow goes back to his chair.
"Alright, team. Since we're going to practice, how about we teach the newcomer some lessons?" Flow says.
"I'll appreciate that." A bright green with white mane earth pony replies.
"Then let's get to it."
After Arrow's introduction, the members of Sharpshooter Squad proceed to the hall at the side of the meeting room. At the end of the hall is a double door that leads to the armory. There, many airsoft variant of real weapons, gears, and equipments are displayed in the room. Most of them are in the cabinets.
"Alright, get your weapons and gears. Info, you'll be the newcomer's guide."
"Yes, sir."
With that said, Info heads to the armor-equipped Arrow who is still deciding which gun to use, since this is his first time playing airsoft.
"Hey…." Info tries to remember the white pegasus' name. "Arrow. So, my name's Info. I'll be your guide."
"Sweet! Please help me. Which one is the best to use?" Arrow looks back at the guns in the cabinet.
"Oh, it depends. Let me explain. SMGs are short but light, thus, you're more agile. The recoil is also very stable. Worth mentioning,, this airsoft community uses tech on the gear. The helmet HUD shows how much damage you've taken, just like in video game."
"Oh, I get it!"
"Yes. Now Assault Rifle is pretty strong especially the ones that have red mark on its side, like this one." Info explains as he picks an M762 and showing it to Arrow.
"Hurry up, you two! We're about to start!" Flow shouts across the room to the two ponies.
"Yes, sir!" Info puts back the assault rifle and gives Arrow MP5 before running to the team.
After Flow divides the members into two teams, each team has six members in it. Each of them have unique skill and some of them have special ability that gives them advantage over the others they spread into different locations. The match has begun.
"So, what are we supposed to do?"
"Just follow me."
Arrow follows Info everywhere he goes, and despite that he knows very less about shooting, he's great at following order.
Info's team has taken out four opposite team members, although they have lost two members because of a sniper in the last battle. Now, there are four members left in Info's team while the opposite team only has two. They decide to find a spot to hide and discuss the battle plan.
"Alright, team form up on me." Info orders as he take out a map and then putting it on the floor. "Listen, the enemy team only has two members left; one is an agile attacker and the other one is a trap and explosive expert. From the ambush, I assume they have moved from the forest to this hill." Info puts his hoof on a forest area before running it across onto the hill area.
"Does anypony has a medium-range scope?"
"I do, but I'm low on ammo."
"Fine then."
Before Info could continue his words, Arrow speaks up, "Wait a minute. If the opposite team only has an agile attacker and a trap expert, why would they moved to the hill? Doesn't that giving them disadvantage over us?"
"You're right…." Hearing this makes Info rethink the strategy and looks for something suspicious.
After some time, Info discovers why the opposite team moved to the hill,"I got it! Here team, apparently there's a small building 200m behind the hill. That building also has a tower and surrounded by some trees. From the map, I assume the area has bushes, and the grasses may be a little taller than average."
"So that's why they moved to the hill. To look for us first then going for the building." The blue and colorful-maned pegasus, Dusk, adds.
"But what if we're already there before them?" The green pegasus, Valley, contradicts.
"They may have thought that. If so, they're probably proceeding by using the environment, especially with the agile one. He's like a spider monkey." Dusk explains.
"Clever." Arrow responds.
"Okay team, listen up. The opposite team may be proceeding from the front of the building, judging from the location they've been to. From here, we're going to take right flank." Info puts his hoof on their location then running it across to the right side of the house. "Remember, once we are near, stay low and proceed with caution."
"We don't have much time, let's do this."
After the battle plan, Info's team travels all the way to the planned location. Once they're near the building, they start to go prone, carefully sneaking their way near.
"Remember, be careful of traps. Could be either claymores or mines."
"Info?"
"What, Arrow?"
"What if...I'll be the lookout on the tree."
"You'd be compromised."
"Oh, alright." Arrow continues to move among the grasses and bushes.
The team is finally close to the building, it's now in sight from the team's location.
"Info, this is Valley. I got eyes on the building and the tower. No sight of enemies yet. Over."
"Copy that, Valley. What's your position?."
"120m to the target location.."
"Stay hidden. Info out."
The team finally managed to sneak their way close to the building undetected. As the plan is going well so far, Arrow has the urge to fly and scout the enemy from above.
"Info, this is Arrow. Permission to take a flight. Over."
"Negative. Stay on the ground or else you'll be spotted easily."
Arrow sighs, "Roger…."
Voice from Info's radio is heard again, this time, it's Valley reporting in. "Valley to Info, Valley to Info."
"Info to Valley. You're loud and clear. What's up?"
"I spotted a movement in the building. On the second floor to be exact. Though, I only spotted one. Still no sign of the other one. He could be the agile or the trapper."
"Copy all. Keep up the update. Info out."
After receiving report from Valley, Info orders Dusk to move together with Arrow, which Dusk is concerned about.
"Are you serious, Info? I could be taken down!"
"That's why you just check it with Arrow. Move to the back of the house and go to the back door separately then check it. If it's clear I'll join you guys. I'll be behind you. How's that? Over."
"...Well, I guess I'll be fine with that. Come on, Arrow, let's go."
"Roger."
Dusk and Arrow proceeds slowly to the back door. After successfully doing that, Dusk opens the door slowly while aiming his SMG at the inside of the building. After the door is opened, Arrow and Dusk check the inside, finding many traps. Knowing that attempting to disable the traps may compromises them, Dusk and Arrow carefully maneuver around until suddenly….
"Dusk, Arrow, get out of there!" Info shouts from the radio as the front door breaks open by a pony who swings down from the window. Making them getting caught in the traps, incapacitating them and making them getting into very low health.
As soon as he knows that his teammates are in trouble, Info sprints into the door and opening fire at the agile attacker. Luckily, he managed to get him out the house, giving him time to revive Arrow and Dusk.
Suddenly, Dusk shoots at the staircase leading to the second floor, almost accidentally shooting Info.
"Heads up! There's an enemy at the stairs!" Dusk shouts loudly, still aiming at the staircase.
Arrow is finally revived, "Arrow, get Dusk up. I'll cover you."
As Arrow is dragging Dusk into the closet, metallic tings are heard.
"Grenade!" Info helps Arrow and Dusk to get into the closet right before the grenade explodes, followed with the explosive traps going off as well, creating a big explosion which destroyed some part of the building.
"Dusk, you're good?"
Dusk groans, "I'm quite fine. Though I might be slow."
"Me too," Arrow adds.
"Well fine. Valley, report!"
"The enemies are outside, the agile is on the roof while the explosive guy is probably to the left from the back door. Prepared for you guys to come out. Requesting permission to shoot them."
"Affirmative. Don't let them take us down!"
Green light for Valley to take down the enemies. She aims her rifle at the agile one first before shooting his head, taking him out of the match. Now it's just the explosive earth pony that remains. However, knowing that his teammate is down, he runs away from the team into the thick forest.
"One is down and the other one is on the run. I'm chasing after him." Valley reports in as she flies to the running pony, chasing after him.
Back at the building, Info brings Arrow and Dusk somewhere safe and slow their bleeds.
"Info to Valley. Status report!."
"Still chasing the target."
"What's your location?"
"About 80m from the back door straight into the forest."
"I'll get to you."
"Negative, I got this. Valley out."
"Valley! Argh!"
Info then runs into the forest, looking for Valley. As he's running in the forest, he finally meets Valley who's just walking out like nothing ever happened, catching her breath from the chase.
"Target...down…," Valley says between her breathes.
"Everypony, you did your part great. Meet back at the starting point. I'm glad of all of you," Info says on the radio, spreading the news that his team has won the match.
When the rest of Info's team returned to the entrance, they are cheered by the other members of the community. In the middle of the cheering, Arrow gets an honorable mention as he did very well at his first day in the community.
"As you all saw, he was amazing out there. Not only great at obeying orders but also pretty frosty." Info taps Arrow's at the bottom of his back neck.
After the match has ended and everypony has put back the equipments and weapons, they're having a quick briefing.
"Applause for today," Flow says, then everypony claps their hooves for their great job at the field.
"You all did a great job today. I'm proud. And for today, I know you already got an honorable mention but I'll say it again! Massive congratulation to our new member, Arrow Flight!" The entire room is filled with noises of cheers and clapping as everypony look at Arrow, smiling and whistling. Making his white pearl face becomes a tad pink.
After the second honorable mention for Arrow, the room becomes quiet before Flow gives suggestion to the green, explosive expert earth pony, Fuse, and the agile, smaller-than-average orange pegasus, Chill to perform better next time.
"Alright, now is the time I give some of you suggestions. Fuse, you were great at setting the traps but next time, put them at strategic places where your enemy won't expect."
"Right, sir. Whatever."
"And you amazed me by how you predicted where the enemy will come out. That's super awesome!"
"Oh yeah, hahaha. That's kind of you."
"Yeah. And for you, Chill. I really like your positioning and the ambush. However, if you go or stay outside, you will be spotted by enemy so you may want to get somewhere where you cannot be seen, or stay hidden someplace then take them down stealthily."
"Yes, sir. I'll try."
"Alright, everypony. I appreciate you all coming and spending time for practice here. Fuse, Chill, remember what I said. I hope you two will perform better next time. That's all briefing for today, see you next Saturday. Dismiss." With that said, the briefing is done and everypony packs their belonging then go to home.
Along the way, Info talks with Arrow.
"So hey, where do you live?"
"Near the edge of the city. At Deer Street, number 17, golden fence."
"Alright, I see. May I have your phone number?"
"Just send me a friend request at Facebooshy," Arrow says as he takes out his phone and show Info his name on it. Arrow profile has his nickname and a picture of an arrow flying in mid air.
"Well, I guess I'll just use the website version." Info whispers. "Done."
As the request just got sent, it immediately got confirmed by Arrow, indicating how quickly he can react.
"That was fast." Info whispers to himself again. "Well, I guess I'll see you later."
"Yeah, see ya, my bro." Arrow waves his hoof as he watches Info trots home before continue walking to his house.
