Winning Her Heart

by AnonyMiss

"Look, can we meet up? I really need to talk to someone."

"What have I done? Oh, What have I done?!"

Rainbow Dash paced around her bedroom. Tank was with her, watching her move back and fourth across the room. It was the day after Rainbow's little fight with Twilight. Although Dash did most of the "fighting".

"Things are even worse than they started! Twilight probably still likes Star Hunter and hates me! Oh man, this is bad." Rainbow bit her lip. "How could I ever get her to like me now?" Tank just continued staring. "Oh. stop looking at me like that! I know I should talk to her, but she probably never wants to talk to me again, after the way I yelled at her yesterday!" Tank just sat there and rolled his eyes. "It's not like I don't want to talk to her, okay? I just...can't talk to her. Not after yesterday."

Dash paced around her room for about a half an hour, scratching her head and trying to think of a way to apologize to Twilight, without needing to talk to her right away.

Rainbow's eyes moved down to the golden chain necklace she had given Tank awhile back. "That's it! I'll get her a gift!" There was still a problem though. "Oh, but what would I get her? A book? Nah, she has practically every book that ever got published."

"A card? No, not good enough. A sweater? Nah." Rainbow gave it some thought. Her eyes came to a geode she found in riverbed on a hike with the gang. That's when it hit her. "I could make a geode necklace. I'm sure she'd love it!"

Rainbow got some supplies and prepared to get to work. "Buckle up Tank! It's time to get crafty!"

Twilight was still upset about what had happened the previous day. She sat in her bedroom with her - talking - pet dog, Spike in her arms. "Rainbow Dash can be so confusing at times.." She said.

"You're telling me." Spike says.

"If she doesn't like Star Hunter, what's going on with her then?" Twilight laid down on her bed and sighed. "There aren't any other plausible solutions I could come up with! Not now anyway."

"You should talk to her. You won't be able to figure it out if the two of you don't communicate in some way." Spike suggested.

"I want to talk to her, but I don't think she even want's to see me right now. Let alone talk to me..."

"You'll never really know for sure! You need to talk to her! You two have always gotten through fights with each other before, right? And the way you do it is by talking to each other."

"I guess.." Twilight still wasn't completely satisfied.

"Whatever, I'm going back to sleep.." Spike gave up on trying to convince Twilight and went to sleep.

The two just laid there in comfortable silence until Twilight could hear Spike's faint snoring. She carried him over to his own bed and sat back down on hers. She sighed and looked through her window. I will talk to her... just...not right now.

Twilight looked over at her phone, which was just sitting on her nightstand next to her lamp, just staring at her. She knew exactly who she needed to talk to right now. She grabbed her mobile phone and punched in some digits. She waited for a what felt like a century.

I hope he'll pick up this time..

Twilight held her breath until she heard a familiar voice.

Hello? Who's this?

"Hello. It's Twilight Sparkle, remember me? Look, can we meet up? I really need to talk to someone."

"So, what did you want to meet me for?" Twilight looked up. It was Star Hunter.

She took a deep breath, "Wellmyfriendhasbeenactingwei-"

"Whoah! Let it out slowly, alright?"

Twilight took another breath. "A friend of mine has been acting weird and I don't know whats up with her lately. Just yesterday I came up with a possible solution, but when I confronted her about it she just yelled at me and told me to leave. Now, I'm even more confused. I needed someone to talk to, so I contacted you, Star Hunter."

"Well, I'm glad you did. I was in the middle of something, but anything for you, Twilight."

Those very words made Twilight blush. But then she came to think, what was he in the middle of? Hopefully not something too important. She didn't want to be a bother.

"Thanks."

"This friend of yours, you should-"

"Talk to her, I know.." Twilight bit her lip. "I will eventually, but I think it's best if I give her some space, for now."

"Okay. Let her talk to you first, after all she needs to apologize for yelling at you like that. But if she doesn't, you need to talk to her. You can't wait too long, or else things will get worse." Hunter said.

"I suppose you're right," Twilight agreed. "I'll talk to her, promise." She smiled at him.

"Hey, there's that smoothie place. I heard they're smoothies are the best in town."

"Yeah, my other friend, Applejack works there."

"I'll go get us some. What flavor do you want?"

"Surprise me. Oh by the way, tell Aj I sent you. You might just get a discount out of it."

"Aye Aye." Star Hunter got up and left.

Twilight noticed that Star Hunter had left his phone unattended. She waited until Star Hunter was out of sight to reach for it. She knew it was wrong, but something just came over her. She couldn't help but take a sneak peek. When she turned it on she came to find that there was no password. Convenient. The wallpaper was a picture of Star Hunter with an elderly woman. His grandma maybe? She scrolled through his gallery. There were more pictures of the same elderly woman. She looked like a nice woman, very cheerful and kind. There was a twinkle in her eye that said it all. Twilight scrolled through some more recent photos.

Nothing could prepare her for what she saw next.
