"I have waited a long time for this." Blitz Surge said to himself as he approached the Tree of Harmony. "While this was not the original method that I'd planned to obtain what I need, I suppose this makes things easier than having to earn the trust of the Element Bearers. Shining Dawn would have been my primary concern afterwards, but he's been dealt with by the. . . anomaly."
Blitz Surge stood before the Tree of Harmony. Taking a moment to observe it before unsheathing his katana and striking at the tree! As if the tree could sense that it was being threatened, it fought back by sending out a blast of harmony right at Blitz Surge! But this was exactly what Blitz wanted to happen! Blitz Surge raised his blade to block the magic, and the blast of harmony was absorbed into his katana! The blade glowing in a rainbow-colored light before settling.
"Now is my time to rise." Blitz Surge said as he saw the Tree of Harmony grow pale from him absorbing its power. Turning to leave when he saw the elements embedded within its branches working to restore it. "For too long a false son of Aether has been running around, playing hero. A pretender who has now met his end at his own hands. A fitting punishment for claiming a title that was mine, and mine alone. Both Shining Dawn and the anomaly, Burst Stream, were never worthy of being called Aether's son. Shining Dawn relied only upon the fact that he had Aether's blood within him to give him strength. It's only natural that his pride and arrogance in such a connection failed him in the end when he was killed by that anomaly."
"Burst Stream." Blitz Surge said with a frown as he thought about the fallen Element of Power. "You were an anomaly, an error in the destiny I was promised. An outlier that effortlessly dashed my plans for rising as the TRUE hero of this land. Every time a threat rose, you and your band of excuses for heroes went forth to counter it. Nightmare Moon. Discord. The Changelings and Queen Chrysalis. King Sombra. And most recently, Tirek. I would have arrived when all seemed lost to defeat them, but you all bested them before they could dominate the world. But if there is anything that I despise more than that." Blitz Surge gripped his sword tightly in anger! His frown becoming a scowl.
"No, what I find more disgusting than anything is the fact you decided to lower yourself by becoming the lover of the fallen goddess Nightmare Moon!" Blitz Surge raged! "A son of Aether would not defile himself in such a filthy manner! What sickens me more is that you helped redeem her." Blitz Surge's face contorted in disgust. "Redemption. No word makes me more sick. It's allowed Discord to escape punishment, and allowed Nightmare Moon to obtain a seat among the royalty. King Sombra also roams free now. All because of you, Burst Stream, and your mockery of heroes!"
"A true hero would have smote the evils that risen without a second thought. They deserve no mercy, no second chances." Blitz Surge said as a dark smile spread across his face. "All of them facing the judgement they deserve at my hands. And in the end, justice will be done. I guess it was true when they said power corrupts, Burst Stream. You corrupted what an ideal hero, a TRUE hero like father stands for. But now that you no longer stand in my way, I will purge your corruption and purify the mantle of hero! With power's departure, JUSTICE will now reign!"
Blitz Surge came to a halt when he heard the sounds of combat coming from Unityville. He saw the Elements of Heroism engaging a monster known as the bugbear. And Blitz Surge smiled as he made his way to town.
"Man! We need to draw this thing out of town!" Inferno said as he fired a few shots form his blaster at the bugbear, and launched a few fireballs from his right hand with magic! "We can't use any of our more destructive techniques without causing too much damage to the town or unwanted collateral!"
"Why is this thing even trashing town in the first place?!" Tyrannus grumbled as he grappled with the bugbear! By applying a small amount of his divine strength, the God of Tolerance lifted the bugbear and slammed it into the ground! Ty glared down at the fallen monster. "I don't wish to kill you. But if you don't know to back off now, I won't tolerate your continued rampage. Are. We. Clear."
"Good thing we managed to wrap this up quickly." Akage muttered to Steel. "The girls are probably saving us seats at the town hall."
"Tell me about it." Steel replied. "Today's wedding got me thinking about when I'm gonna pop the question to Rainbow Dash. Honor and loyalty are a good combination."
Fortunately, the bugbear realized just how outmatched it was. It grunted as it picked itself up from the crater it had formed upon being slammed into the ground, and began to leave. But as it began to buzz its wings, the sound of a blade slicing was heard! An instant later, the bugbear fell to the ground! Cleaved in two horizontally! Blitz Surge was revealed with his sword drawn when the bugbear's lifeless body halves hit the ground.
"Justice has been delivered, monster." Blitz said as he looked down at the bugbear's remains before turning his attention to the Elements of Heroism. "Elements of Heroism. You needn't worry about being a member short any longer."
"Who are you?" Inferno asked as he stared down Blitz Surge. "You're not another Element of Heroism. All of our team have already awakened."
"My name is Blitz Surge." Blitz answered with a frown. "And I am the justice that you all lack."
"You call yourself 'justice', and your first act upon showing up is to kill a creature that's decided to back off?" Steel Edge questioned with a raised eyebrow. "We were about to capture the bugbear. You didn't need to kill it!"
"You can still add it to the bestiary by studying it's corpse." Blitz Surge retorted. "Is that any way to thank the one who so easily dealt with the beast you were struggling to handle?"
"We could have easily taken it down." Arctic Ace countered in a cool tone. "But we're fighting in a populated area. And a lot of our more powerful techniques could cause damage to the town and civilians."
"If we could get back on topic," Inferno began as he narrowed his eyes at Blitz Surge. "Why are you here, and what do you want?"
"I came here to make myself known to you lot. I'd say I was most successful on that end." Blitz Surge stated with a straight face. "My other purpose is to take the place of Burst Stream. I shall resume the position he held. From now on, the Elements of Heroism will be led by justice!"
". . . Excuse me?" Inferno asked as embers danced around his hands as the balled into fists! "What did you just say about Burst Stream?"
"I know that you heard me quite well." Blitz Surge retorted. He then looked at the statue of Burst Stream, and frowned at it. "A shame, about my brother. But rest assured, I will lead us down the path of true heroes."
"Wait, what?!" Inferno snapped. "That can't be! The only 'brother' Burst Stream had was Shining Dawn!"
"I suppose you could ask our father, Aether, for answers when I visit him." Blitz Surge said with a smirk. "With my mother also attending, you could practically call it a reunion. Now then, would you be a good team and regale the media of how I defeated the bugbear effortlessly?"
"Sorry, but you don't give the orders." Inferno pointed a finger at himself. "Burst named me as his second-in-command. Since he's not here anymore, I'm the one in charge now."
"I am his brother." Blitz Surge argued. "I would have known what he wanted!"
"Oh, don't give me that!" Inferno snapped! "There's no way Burst Stream knew who you are, or that you existed! He didn't even know that bastard Shining Dawn was related to him!"
"If you won't grant me what I am owed," Blitz Surge placed a hand over his katana, and glared at Inferno. "Then I will take what I deserve."
"You really wanna see how hot a dragon's fury burns?" Inferno growled! "Come on! Take a good look!"
"CEASE THIS AT ONCE!" Princess Luna commanded as she flew over to Blitz Surge's side! "What is the meaning of this? Why are you at odds with my chosen champion?!"
"WHAT?!" The Elements of Heroism exclaimed in shock!
"Princess Luna." Blitz Surge bowed. "My apologies. It appears my declaration of wanting to take the position of leader, which was once held by Burst Stream, upset them. For me to assume I could replace such a person was foolish."
"You are forgiven, Blitz Surge." Luna said with a loving smile as she turned to face the EoH. "My champion has apologized for his behavior. Does that not resolve this matter?"
'Funny. Why don't I believe him?' Inferno thought as he sighed. "Fine."
"Perhaps you could accept him as a member?" Luna asked. "If he could not serve you as a leader, then at the very least he could become your comrade?"
"I've got the feeling I'd regret letting him join." Inferno said crossly as he pointed to the bugbear's corpse. "He bisected the bugbear just when we'd gotten it to back off. And there's also a good chance he'd try to challenge me for leadership. In fact, I'd honestly like to see him try just so he knows who he's up against. You want him in, princess? Fine. He can join. But the second he makes a wrong move, I'm kicking him out."
"Excellent." Luna said with a satisfied smile as she collected Blitz Surge. "It seems like you've gotten your wish for fighting with the Elements of Heroism."
"It appears so." Blitz answered with a smile. "And what of you and your little project for penance?"
"The tantabus is most effective." Luna answered with a sigh of relief. "At long last, I feel like I'm paying for my past sins."
"Well then," Blitz Surge wrapped his arms around Luna. "It looks like everything is proceeding as planned."
