//------------------------------// // Ch. 2- The First Day // Story: Pixie Breeze's Story // by pixiebreeze //------------------------------// Pixie was growing up fast! Ivory and Ice couldn't believe that she would start school today! The little pegasus hesitantly made her way down the hallway, into the kitchen. "Mommy? Do I have to go to school?" she asked, peeking around the corner. The purple pegasus was by the counter, packing her lunch. She paused and bent down by the filly, "Pixie, your brothers' go to school and didn't you say yesterday that you wanted to be just like them?" She said, smiling at her daughter. "Yea, like Cassie. Not Windy..he's mean to me..." the filly responded. Her mother sighed a bit, scooping up the filly, "Listen, Pix, you're going to love school! You'll make so many new friends that when they come over, there won't be enough snacks in the house for all of them!" Pixie giggled as her mother blew raspberries into her little belly. "Mommm!" the blue pegasus shrieked. Ivory smiled, setting the filly down. "Now, I'm almost done with your lunch, go get ready or we'll be late!" Pixie smiled, nodding and bounding down the hallway. --- Pixie took a shaky step into the schoolhouse. She paused, looking back at her mom. Ivory Wisp nodded encouragingly, waving her hoof. The little filly took a deep breath and trotted into the schoolhouse. The little filly quickly picked a seat, towards the back and by a window. She began to unpack her things as other colts and fillies began to arrive. --- During lunch, Pixie sat outside at a bench by herself. She unpacked her food and quietly ate. Her ears flicked as she heard hoof steps heading in her direction. She glanced up and saw a light tan unicorn with a long light blue mane. "Hi!" The other filly chirped, holding her sack lunch in her magic, "Can I sit with you? It's too crowded in the classroom.." she asked, looking at the pegasus. Pixie nodded, "Sure!" Pixie looked at the unicorn as she sat down beside her and unpacked her food, "What do you have for lunch?" she asked. The other pony looked back at the pegasus, "a cucumber sandwich and some daisy petals. What about you?" she asked, taking a bite of her sandwich. Pixie smiled, "I have a daffodil and daisy sandwich and some hay fries! I'm Pixie Breeze by the way" she said. "Oh, I'm Childheart!" the unicorn said, smiling back, "I really like your wings," she said, looking at the other pony's wings. Pixie ruffled her feathers, "Heh, thanks. I'm not very good at flying yet but someday I hope to be able to fly to the clouds! They just look so soft!" She giggled. The two fillies talked until their lunch break was over. The pair headed back inside and sat next to each other for the remainder of the class. Once the day was over, Pixie said goodbye to her new friend and quickly spotted her parents just outside the schoolyard. The pegasus excitedly bounded over to them, flapping her small wings. She couldn't wait to tell them about her day. Pixie smiled, she was going to like school.
