Sunset's Ranger Vision

Connected Dreams

She had been tossing and turning, endlessly, restlessly, her face and clothes drenched in sweat as she saw the unusual scene... warriors in different types of suits, fighting against multiple robotic soldiers that looked similar, all while a dark figure watched from above.

"They'll realize... they could have been gods."

A figure in a white form of the soldiers with multiple colors in the diamonds, clashing against the evil figure in a duel.

"Your reign of terror ends here, Drakkon!"

The two figures battled for dominance, both using mixed martial arts to their advantages, the younger figure slowly gaining the upper hand and almost destroying the older male when an arrow struck him, a female voice speaking up.

"You honestly think I'll let you destroy my master so easily?"

A feminine figure, cloak waving behind her, stood there with a bow in her arms.

Sunset watched this in her dream as she slowly got in front of the boy.

The female scoffed lightly and spoke once more, "Weaklings..." She pulled back the string of her bow and fired another shot.

Sunset woke up in a panic, panting heavily and looking around to see herself in her bedroom. She breathed a sigh of relief as she muttered under her breath, "Oh thank Celestia. It was just a dream."

She laid back down and thought about what she had seen, the white figure fighting the dark, the soldiers, cracked helmets and blood all over the place. She knew she wasn't the only one to see it, as Pinkie Pie had sensed it as well through her Pinkie Sense.

Pinkie suddenly started to shiver and shake. "Uh-oh! I think we're gonna get a doozy, and whatever it is, it's gonna be big!' She kept shivering and shaking for a few more seconds before speaking again, "... and it's gonna happen soon! Like real soon!" Her bright blue eyes were wide in fear.

Was it possible that something might happen? Something so profound and frightening that not even she would know all the answers to...?

She couldn't risk it, so she grabbed her journal and started writing in it:

Dear Princess Twilight,

I know it's been a while, but there's something urgent I need to tell you about. I had a weird dream about a battle, not between ponies and dragons or anything of that sort, more along the lines of a major war between good and evil. I saw many people - humans - killed and slaughtered everywhere I looked. There was a figure up above that had a sort of humanoid robot behind him, and then I saw another figure all in white and with a bunch of different colors call him "Drakkon". I'm not the only one aware of this. Human Pinkie has been sensing it too and saying that it was a doozy waiting to happen. It sounds silly, but... what if this war's actually occurring and we don't know it? Please reply as soon as possible.

Your faithful student,
Sunset Shimmer

Across dimensions, in the world of Equestria, the young alicorn known as Twilight Sparkle saw the journal vibrate and she quickly opened it, gasping in surprise as she read the entry.

A door opened to the library as Starlight Glimmer, a lavender unicorn, and Spike, a purple and green baby dragon rushed inside.

"Twilight! We've got an emergency!" Starlight skidded to a stop as she continued speaking, "I just had this crazy dream about a big war, and then Spike dreamed about this big, black, robotic... whatever it was!"

Twilight looked at them as she replied, "You're not the only ones who saw it." She showed them Sunset's letter.

Spike read the letter and asked, "Do you think they could be connected?"

Twilight went to speak, but a calm voice interrupted her: "I believe they are, Spike." Princess Luna flew into the room calmly, her wings folding in as the Princess of the night smiled at the three and spoke again, "Greetings, everypony."

Twilight smiled as she saw who it was. "Princess Luna!" She and the other two bowed quickly, with the Princess of Friendship speaking afterward once more, "What did you mean when you said that you believe they were all connected?"

Luna used her magic to pull the trio into the dream realm before she started explaining, "It seems that the most privy to this information has been notified; My sister, through a similar vision to Sunset Shimmer's dream." She showed the group Celestia's dream vision before continuing on, "Cadence and Shining Armor have been alerted to this as well, as have the other kingdom rulers. I believe we are on the precipe of joining an unknown war, a war that must be stopped at all costs by defeating this Drakkon and his army, whomever he may be. But whether he shall attack Equestria or the human world Sunset resides in, I do not know."

Starlight looked up bravely and spoke then, "We're gonna get ready if we're up against this threat."

Spike grinned and added, "Yeah, no way are we letting this guy take over our worlds!"

Twilight nodded to them in agreement, looking at Luna as she spoke, "We'd better alert Sunset and the rest of the Humane Girls."

Luna nodded and levitated the journal over to herself, beginning to write in it as Twilight spoke:

Dear Sunset Shimmer,

Princess Luna has visited us and indeed confirmed that the dream you've been having is a vision of things to come. We don't know much about this Drakkon, the white and multicolored figure you saw, or which dimension he'll attack, but you need to be prepared just in case. I'll help the other Princesses make sure that Equestria is safe, and I ask you and your friends to please keep the human world safe from this threat.

Your teacher,
Princess Twilight Sparkle

Back in the human world, Sunset paled slightly as she read the returned message, muttering slightly, "Oh boy." She got back in bed and looked at the ceiling, her cyan eyes blinking sleepily as she murmured softly, "We are definitely in for a rough doozy..."

What she couldn't know was that at that point, the same white figure was falling from a portal, landing on her apartment rooftop and slowly standing up to observe the new world. "I can't let Drakkon kill any more people. I will do whatever it takes to defend the Grid."
