//------------------------------// // Ch 1: Moving In // Story: Blue Electric's Destiny // by Blueelectric //------------------------------// As Luna's moon rises upon a sleeping town, a black figure trotted toward a large building carrying two saddlebags full of stuff. But she isn't like most ponies that lived here, she is solid black with electric blue mane and tail and matching blue eyes and wings. Her eyes are bat-like and so was her wings. This is Blue Electric; a bat pony. She is from a cavern town called Transylmania. She walked up to the front door and knocked. "Coming! Just starting to close up shop!" Shouted a calm voice. The door opened up and a pink unicorn appeared. She got a violet mane and tail with pink streaks; with her mane is tied up in a bun. She also got blue glasses covering her matching blue eyes. Cutie Mark is that of an encyclopedia. "Oh, hello there. You must be Blue, the new night guard. Welcome to Ponyville. My name is Miss Era; the owner of The Ponyville Museum. I'm sorry to hear about your mother." she said sympathetically. Blue's mother passed away from a bad stomach tumor. Blue was still recovering from her grief, so the mayor of Transylmania told her to move to Ponyville and have a fresh new start. Miss Era and her mother were best friends, so the kind unicorn offered her a job and a place to stay. She went inside and followed Miss Era into the museum, past the exhibits, and down the stairs into a basement. It was small but spacious, with a kitchen and a bedroom side by side of each other. There were two doors beside each other on one side of the wall. "Where's the bathroom, Miss?" she asked politely. Miss Era then open one of the doors and point to it. Blue glanced in it too find a small bathroom with a walk-in shower, a toilet, and a sink with a small medicine cabinet. "Your work schedule starts at 7:30 pm and ends at 12:00 am. Your job is to lock up the exhibits and patrol the hallways. You start tomorrow night, so you can settle down tonight." Miss Era told her. She bids her goodnight, then left for home. Blue unpacked her bags and made her bed. she opens the other door to find a closet with a uniform already in it. The uniform was her size with her name tag already on it. She unpacked her Daring Do books and put it on her shelf by her bed. She was Daring Do fan since the first book released. She then put Daring Do posters on her wall near her bed. She got out her alarm clock and set it to 7:00 pm and placed it on her nightstand. She then placed her dishes in the cabinets and put her silverware in her kitchen drawers. She looked in the fridge to find it empty. I need to stock up on food, she thought, Maybe tomorrow, after work. She looked in her other saddlebags and found three bags full of bits that's from her mother. She also unpacked a picture frame of her and her mother. She unwrapped it and looked at it. She shed a tear and said, "Mother, I did it. I got the job. I hope you're proud of me." She then placed the picture on the nightstand, beside the clock. It was just her and her mother, nopony else. They had been through so much together. After her father left, she lived the rest of her fillyhood in peace. She got her cutie mark by saving Translymaneia's treasure from a couple of thieves; a ball of blue electricity. Her father used to do horrible things to her and her mother, even as far as making Blue fight a manticore. She still got her scars; three slash marks hidden under her left wing. The town leader then banished her father, telling him to not to come back. Blue was afraid of stallions ever since; that's why she's only into mares. She looked at her clock to find it at 10:00 am. she yawned and flopped down on her bed, instantly asleep. "You are nothing!". A hoof hit her in the chest. "Why don't you fight, you coward!" Blue gazed up at a dark gray figure with black mane and tail, his dark amber eyes gleaming with hatred. "What kind of bat pony are you if you can't even fight!".The same hoof kicked her in the stomach. She wheezed, shaking with fear, crying out with pain. He picked her up and slammed her against the wall. Her whole body was screaming with pain. "Cinder!, That's enough! She's only a filly!" A dark purple rushed to the poor shaking filly's side. She scooped her up and cradled her. "Morning Glory! Are you trying to disrupt me?! It's never to early to teach a foal to fight!". The dark purple mare with light blue curly mane and tail glared at her husband with disgust and fear in her pale blue eyes. "Maybe she doesn't want to be a fighter, do you even think of that? not every bat pony in this town is a fighter! she might want to be a gardener like me, or a chef, or even a vet! So stop with your hitting!" Cinder's hoof hit his wife in the side of her face. She fell on the floor dropping Blue in the process, blood dripping from her mouth. "You don't tell me what I can or can not do with my own daughter. I ran this household, not you! If I want my daughter to be a fighter, then she will be a fighter!". He turned back to Blue and raise his hoof to strike her in the face. Blue woke up with a gasp, shivering with fear and wheezing. Cold sweat was pouring down her face, with tears in her eyes. She buried her head in her pillows and sobbed. She cried for her mother, cried for her fillyhood. She glanced at her clock to see that it was 12:00 pm. She had slept for two hours. She ran to the kitchen sink, poured herself a glass of water and chugged it down. She then went back to bed to try to sleep. She turn back and forth trying to get sleep, but she was getting restless. Eventually, she went back to sleep.
