//------------------------------// // Epilogue // Story: A Royal Ship Ride // by BrawnyBold //------------------------------// Seafoam made his way to the docks while carrying some supplies for his ship. He was too distracted from what happened a few days ago with Flutterby. Seafoam felt great that he was able to help Flutterby, but for some reason he really wanted to see her again. Before Seafoam reached the Floating Duckling, he heard a voice calling for him. "Seafoam!" the voice said. Seafoam turned to see an old, gray pegasus stallion was approaching. "Hey, Captain Nimbus!" Seafoam replied as he recognized the head captain of the docks. Captain Nimbus was one of Seafoam's main sources for sailing jobs. "How are ya? You tough sailor!" Captain Nimbus said with a grin. "Just fine," Seafoam replied. "I was picking up some supplies before I get your shipments to Manehattan." "Fantastic!" Captain Nimbus responded as he gave a pat on Seafoam's back. "It's good for a sailor to prepare for another voyage. Have a safe trip!" Captain Nimbus walked a few steps before he stopped. "Oh, one more thing!" Seafoam turned to the captain. "Somepony was waiting for you by your boat, she said something about joining your crew, I think?" As Captain Nimbus flew away, Seafoam stood where he was. "She?" Seafoam said to himself. "No way." Seafoam trotted to his airship until he stopped from what he saw. Flutterby was standing next to the Floating Duckling with a saddlebag on her back. "Crew member Flutterby Lily reporting for duty, Sir!" Flutterby said as she gave a salute to Seafoam. "Flutterby?" Seafoam said with confusion. "What are you doing here?" Flutterby rolled her eyes from Seafoam's ridiculous response. "I was trying to say that I'm joining your crew." Flutterby replied. Seafoam continued to show confusion with his face. "W-why?" Seafoam said while baffling. "You were right on one point," Flutterby answered. "I shouldn't be cooped up in a castle for most of my life, there is a whole world that is full of adventures and I want to take part in it!" "Besides," Flutterby continued, "what better way is there to travel the world than to travel on an airship with a friend!" Seafoam thought as he saw what Flutterby suggested could work. "What about your parents?" Seafoam asked. "Don't worry," Flutterby assured. "I already informed them of my decision and they thought that exploring the world would be a great idea for me!" Flutterby pointed a hoof behind her. Seafoam looked and saw that Flutterby's relatives and friends were standing behind her. Seafoam also noticed Princess Cadence hugging a crying Shining Armor. "They are just here to see me off." Flutterby said before her mom walked towards Seafoam. He quickly bowed as the ruler of the Crystal Empire was approaching him. "You don't have to be so formal, Seafoam." Cadence said. Seafoam got up with surprise. "You know who I am?" "Of course," Cadence replied. "I made some research on your background and it says that you are a great sailor!" She leaned closer to Seafoam to whisper something. "I hope you take good care her." Seafoam blushed from Cadence words as it sounded like she was giving her daughter away like a bride. Flutterby's family made their good-byes to Flutterby before Seafoam flew the airship with Flutterby on board. As Seafoam and Flutterby waved good-bye for one last time, Shining Armor ran to the very edge. "Seafoam!" Shining yelled out as he used his magic to make his voice louder. "You better protect my daughter! If I feel like something bad has happened to her, I will have an entire army of royal guards hunt you down like there is no tomorrow!" With that said, Seafoam's blood turned cold as he was given a threat that could lead the end of him. "Don't worry," Flutterby assured. "my dad was just being a dad." Flutterby then walked next to Seafoam and looked out in the distance. A part of Flutterby was nervous as she didn't know what to expect. Another part of her was excited as she going on new adventures and she wasn't going on it alone. She was gonna go on adventures with a friend who was an expert on world traveling. The Floating Duckling carried Seafoam and Flutterby towards whatever the wind goes as long as they had each other for support.
