Trixie's Favorite Spot To Play

Trixie smiled as she looked about, double checking the area and nodding, she was alone. She grinned and leaned down, putting her rump in the air and pouncing forwards onto the small teddy bear she'd set up, saying in a mock voice. "Oh, no! The great and powerful Trixie has defeated me!" Trixie nodded as she batted the teddy bear across the lawn, adopting her normal voice. "That's right ursa major! The great and powerful Trixie could not be vanquished by your pathetic powers and puny claws!" She grinned as she pounced on it again, this was always fun, though not something she was willing to do in front of other ponies, it was too childish to let others know about.

Luna looked over the garden, smiling down as she spied on Trixie. The adorable young pony was playing with that teddy bear again. At least she wasn't snuggling it, that made Luna feel a bit better about Celestia taking her as consort. But... Trixie just seemed so young. It was really not her fault, like Celestia had told her Trixie had a troubled childhood and had never really had friends until recently. She still had some emotional issues. The poor girl was a mixture of adult and teenager, maybe with some little bit younger mixed it there. But she was also very pretty, and her issues made her prone to being quite adorable at times, and quite... Annoying at others. Luna did not have Celestia's patience for the newest consort.

Luna couldn't put her hoof on why she was normally quite capable of dealing with younger ponies. Maybe it was the strange dichotomy in Trixie, the mare and the filly combined made her feel a bit strange when interacting with the magician. But she did like to see how happy it made her sister to have the cute young pony with her at almost all times, that was well worth the way that Trixie made her uncomfortable. The mare was mostly perfectly nice. Well, not perfectly, she had her moods. But Celestia was usually there and she was actually surprisingly strict with the young mare. Luna smiled, maybe Trixie was as good for Celestia as well. She crossed her hooves and smiled a little as she watched the mare jumping about like a little maniac. She was cute though...

"Spying on Trixie again are we?" Luna stiffened instantly and looked back to see her sister entering.

Luna rolled her eyes. "It is improper to enter a princess' room without knocking!"

Celestia chuckled as she walked up next to her sister, to spy on Trixie as well. "She is adorable isn't she Luna?"

Luna scoffed but nodded. "She does have a certain attraction to her sister dear."

Celestia smiled, raising an eyebrow at Luna. "Oh? A certain attraction? You haven't thought of inviting her to spend the day in your chambers have you?"

"Sister! Really! I..." Luna cleared her throat. "I would never think to do such an improper thing. We princess' have a certain standard of behavior that we must live up to."

Celestia snickered, she was never as stuffy as her sister, and also that excuse made no sense on its face. "Sister, she is the royal consort. That's literally what the position is for."

Luna rolled her eyes at her sister. "Really sister, simply because you feel the need to bed any cute mare that comes across your path does not mean that I feel the need to do so." Celestia scowled at her sister and Luna raised a hoof. "My apologies sister. I forgot how much you hate that joke. You care about all your consorts."

Celestia smiled, and leaned in, whispering into Luna's ear. "Our consort sister."

Luna blushed gently. "Sister I do not intend to... Consort with your consort!"

Celestia smiled. "Is that why you've spied on her every time she comes out to play?" Luna opened her mouth to protest and Celestia shook her head at her sister. "She is the royal consort, not my consort sister."

Luna flushed a little brighter when she was reminded of that technicality. Luna had always been more traditional than her sister. "I'm not going to... Consort with you and Trixie sister!"

Celestia smiled, shaking her head. "I wasn't suggesting -that- Luna. Just... That cuddling with Trixie for a few days could be good for you... I note you haven't taken a lover since you returned..."

Luna rolled her eyes and shook her head once. "You don't need to keep tabs on my love life sister! And don't you think that having another... Princess to consort with would hurt the poor thing? As you say she's not entirely emotionally mature."

Celestia smiled. "See, you do care a lot for her, you're concerned for her emotional well being."

Luna flushed a little brighter. "I care for all our subjects!"

"Also true. But do I really need to list all the times I've caught you staring at that cute blue mare?"

Luna huffed and walked back into her room from the balcony. 'I don't know what you're talking about sister now really I must request that you leave, I must finish napping before the evening."

Celestia smirked, it seems her sister wasn't willing to admit her affection for the new consort, she'd just have to force her hand... Even if it was less than kind to do so, it would be better for her sister to get that out in the public, at least to herself. "Of course sis... Oh no! Trixie!? She's collapsed!" Celestia liked to think she did a decent enough act of sounding concerned, unlike when Twilight was putting on that play...

Luna obviously believed it well enough as she bolted back to the balcony, and Celestia grinned, that was until Luna didn't stop, she lept over the railing flapping a few times to slow herself enough to keep from getting hurt but hitting the ground hard next to a completely fine Trixie. Celestia wondered if she might not have gone a little too far...

Trixie for her part would claim that she had been completely calm and didn't react in any way that wasn't appropriate. "WHA!? WH... Princess Luna!?" Trixie tossed the stuffed bear over her head and blushed as it fell on top of a nearby hedge, looking shifty and trying to shift to the side to block it from Luna's view. "What... What can the great and powerful Trixie do for you princess...?"

Luna took a moment to collect her thoughts. "Nothing Trixie. I was just planning to go for a walk through the garden! But then I remembered that I must do something else first."

"Ahh! Well... Don't let Trixie keep you."

Luna gave a curt nod and quickly lifted off, flying back up to her balcony and a grinning Celestia, speaking as Luna landed. "See? You do care a lot about her." That had turned out better than Celestia could have hoped now that she had a moment to think about it, and wasn't just watching her sister jump off balconies.

"That was low sister."

"I know, but it proved that you do care about her."

Luna sighed and nodded. "I still say it's a bad idea! You said she's vulnerable."

"I said she was needy. Trixie loves attention." Celestia grinned as she walked to the door. "Think about how much happier she'll be with two princesses' giving her attention?" And with that Celestia walked out, leaving Luna to stew in her own ideas... Then Luna let out a loud groan realizing why she had such little patience with Trixie, because she wasn't allowed to, or at least hadn't allowed herself to enjoy the cute magician! It was the old tail in the ink well thing... Really? Luna felt like a foal herself for giving way to such an obvious piece of redirection from her own emotions.
