"I should've won! I know Ponyville the best!"
"They don't call me the fastest thing alive for nothing! Besides, you weren't the one whose team just destroyed a destroyer of worlds and narrowly escaped the crumbling battlefield."
"Wait, what?"
Here's the deal: I just finished up a 10-lap race around Ponyville against a rainbow-maned Pegasus. Turns out she challenged me after I fell through her cloud home. Also turns out I won.
I held out my hand. "The name's Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog."
The Pegasus shook my hand with her wing. "Rainbow Dash, fastest flier in all of Equestria. My friends and I have taken down tons of bad guys, including King Sombra, Lord Tirek, Nightmare Moon, and Queen Chrysalis. Get this: Just a couple days ago, this pink thing named Kirby and his friends were accidentally teleported here to Equestria, as well as this robed dude named Hyness. Hyness teamed up with Chrysalis to beat us and Kirby's team up, but we took both of them down big time."
"Kirby? The same one that eats stuff to gain powers and tried to stop Hyness from reviving a Dark Lord of some sort?"
"Yeah, do you know him?"
"We worked together to take down said Dark Lord and escaped the battlefield, but something knocked us out. You really should've seen us blast him with a giant laser beam of friendship, followed by all our friends charging at him and blowing him up!"
"Aw, you're ripping me and my friends off!"
"How so?"
"Well, for the Lord Tirek battle, we unlocked the Chest of Harmony and got access to this cool Rainbow Power and shot him so hard we blasted the magic he had stolen out of him and gave it back to all the unicorns and other magic users! We looked so awesome!"
"I'm sure you did! Truth is, I can get an awesome Super form by collecting every one of the seven Chaos Emeralds and harnessing their power!"
"That's sweet! Anyway, are there any other cool bad guys you and your friends fought?"
"You bet! There's my evil counterpart, Shadow, the water monster Chaos, and the Deadly Six, a group of monsters, just to name a few. But the baddie my friends and I fight and beat the most keeps trying to rule the world or something using his mechanical creations: Dr. Eggman."
Rainbow snickered at the mention of ol' Egghead. "Dr. Eggman? I'd think a dude with a name like that would be rivals with Twilight Sparkle. She's a real egghead if you ask me. But seriously, is Eggman his real name?"
"Nah, his real name is Robotnik, but everyone calls him Eggman. It's way funnier and easier for me to insult."
Rainbow snickered even more. "Smart move, Sonic, calling him Eggman just to insult him. Oh, hang on a minute." Rainbow flew up high and listened to something very hard. "Twilight needs every foreign creature that knows Kirby to go to the castle of the princesses. Come on, follow me!"
And just like that, we were gone.
We reached Twilight just in time; she was about to board a train, with a young purple dragon and my pal Pummel Fist in tow.
Pummel said, "Hey, Sonic! Glad you could make it. You heard that the princesses need all who know Kirby to come to their castle?"
"Yeah," I replied.
"Good. Introductions later. Right now, we have to catch the train. We just need to reel it in!" Pummel high-fived the dragon while Twilight did a facepalm. Or was it a facehoof?
Before we could board the train, we heard rapid hoofsteps. "Hold on there! We're headin' to Canterlot Castle too!" An orange pony with a cowboy hat came, with Heart Fist unconscious on her back.
"You're just in time. We're about to set off!"
As the train began to roll, however, we heard some panicked shouts. We looked out the caboose and saw Meloetta, Luigi, and Paper Mario, accompanied by some ponies, trying to catch up. With my super speed, they were inside the train in a snap. "Hope we didn't miss anyone."
Pummel paused. "...We did, didn't we?" Yep.
Luigi replied, "Whoever we didn't get, Discord and Roborygon will."
