Sunset Wins

Not Yet Darling!

Big Mac looked at his sister who sighed and looked down at her watch again, where in the world were Sunset Shimmer and Rarity? They were going to be late for the movie at this rate. She threw her hands up in the air and said, "I'll go find them," turning to go back into the school to look for her rogue friends. She could go by herself, but she owed it to her friends to at least try and find them. She'd start in the lockers, maybe they were dressing or something.

Rarity flushed brightly as she looked up at Sunsets eyes, set hard against her, biting her lower lip as she looked to the side. "I'm not ready yet darling..." She shifted a bit and scooted just the barest way back away from Sunset. They were sitting cross-legged in the band room and Rarity quickly hit the wall behind her and whined gently. "This is hardly fair Sunset."

Sunset growled in annoyance. "Rarity, I've given you long enough to get ready. We're doing this now." Sunset was tired of waiting for Rarity to 'get ready' Sunset had tolerated it at first because even Sunset had to admit it was cute, but since Rarity didn't seem to be showing any progress she was getting tired of waiting and just wanted to finish it and take what she deserved, Applejack was waiting for them after all.

Rarity shook her head, shuffling nervously, she looked down then back up at Sunset Shimmer, biting her bottom lip. "But darling you said this would be friendly!"

"That was before you took so dang long! I mean really Rarity, I'm a patient girl but seriously? You didn't see this coming?"

Rarity pouted. "I never imagined you would be such a brute darling."

Applejack sighed as she walked down the hall. Where were those two? Seriously, they were probably going to be late if they had left right now, and now she still had to find them. Maybe they'd just go to a later showing then. She could just go just with Big Mac but half the fun of an action movie was laughing about the terrible plot and corny jokes with your friends afterward and while her older brother was good company he wasn't a very conversive person. Applejack arrived at the band room door and smiled, hearing Sunset talking inside.

Sunset grinned at her friend. "Well now you know my secret, I'm still evil!"

Rarity gasped loudly, placing her hand over her mouth. "Now darling you can't legitimately expect me to believe you are doing this because you're a demon! You're just a terrible person!"

Sunset chuckled, making fingers imitate claws. "Rwar! Either you show me what I want or you're going to help myself."

"But Darling..."

Finally frustrated to the point of no longer caring Sunset Shimmer slammed her hand down. "Now Rarity!"

"Oh fine darling, just... I mean..." Rarity whined again. "This is under protest!"

"Yeah, yeah." Sunset waved a hand. "Get on with it, I wanna see what you have to offer. I already showed you mine anyway."

"Well, I didn't ask so it's not the same!"

"That's not how it works. Now get that cute little butt of yours in gear or I'm gonna make you regret it."

Rarity huffed mumbled under her breath. "Cad..." Rarity hesitated a moment longer before sighing and lowering her hand to her lap.

"Well, that's a nice pair you have there Rarity."

Applejack's eyes widened as she heard what was happening, she truly couldn't believe it. Sunset Shimmer hadn't... She wasn't good, she'd fooled them all into thinking she had turned over a new leaf when she was more evil than ever before! Applejack reached for the handle to burst in and stop this... This travesty this moment!

Sunset grinned in triumph but then ducked and turned quickly as a loud bang came from behind her as Applejack barreled through the door. "Get your hands off Rarity!" She looked about the room to see a baffled Rarity sitting in front of a deck of cards with a few cards spread out in front of her and where Sunset Shimmer had been sitting.

For Sunset Shimmer's part, she had jumped back thinking it was some kind of ambush, lowering her hands cautiously as she recognized that it was Applejack who had just burst in and not some assassin squad or something. "What the heck Applejack!? What was that!?"

Applejack was still processing the scene... Number of cards in runs and sets arranged in front of where Sunset had obviously been sitting, and a single lonely pair of fours in front of Rarity. After a few moments, Applejack paled, realizing what she'd done. "Oh hell..."

Rarity stood up, dusting herself off and smiled at Applejack. "Not Oh Hell darling, Rummy. Now, what was that nonsense you came in about?"

Applejack blushed and squirmed, well she couldn't lie but she didn't have to tell the whole truth... "Well, it just... Sounded kinda like you two were havin' a fight is all."

Rarity beamed. "And you immediately came to my defense how gallant."

Sunset shimmer laughed loudly. "That's because she knows you wouldn't last two seconds in a fight with me."

Rarity smiled at her friend affectionately. "A fact that I have no shame in admitting darling, you can be proud of being a brute, I am not."

Sunset chuckled and walked over punching Rarity lightly on the arm before squatting down to pick up the cards. Applejack for her part was still blushing a bit at her overreaction and a complete misreading of the situation. "Goodness Applejack," Rarity rolled her eyes, "were you running all over the place looking for us? You're flushed. We still have..." She glanced down at her phone and her eyes widened. "Whoopsie, Sunset it seems we ran over our time. Though really darling you should have called...”

"I know, I was telling you that but you just wouldn't hurry up princess." Sunset Shimmer smiled as she straightened up sliding the cards into her pocket. "But we can still make it, we'll miss the previews but oh well." Rarity smiled and slid her arm through Sunset's arm and they started towards the door, with Rarity picking the still somewhat waffling Applejack on the way.

Applejack sighed a bit as they walked down the hall. "Girls, I have to tell you the full truth... I thought..."

Big Mac nearly jumped out of his socks when he heard a screech of laughter combined with a loud indignant. "YOU WHAT!?" from somewhere inside the school.
