“Mommy, I’m hungry”
This was something I’ve heard many times for quite a long time. I understand why, she is quite hungry. I just don’t know how I’m supposed to find jobs now. I haven’t been able to work anywhere since The Crash. After stocks plummeted, there seems to be no jobs left for anyone, not just me.
“I know honey, don’t worry, we’re almost at Auntie's house, I'm sure there will be food there."
"Mommy, why did we have to walk to Auntie Jane's house?"
"The car doesn't have any gas, it can drive." I stop at the intersection and took a left into a parking lot for an apartment building. "We're here Cindy, come on." Both of us entered a building, and took a staircase to the second floor, entering an apartment, I called out
"Jane, we're here" A young woman came out, she had light brown hair and hazel eyes, she was currently wearing her hair in a ponytail, and the way her clothes were wet, it seemed that she was doing the dishes. She smiled at the sight of us and led us into the living room.
Cindy began wandering around, exploring the apartment while I took Jane aside. "Thanks for taking care of her, I barely have enough for myself and I don't want her to go hungry."
"I get it" She comforted me "Im lucky and have more than enough for myself right now, I can handle one more mouth to feed."
"Alright, if she gets fussy, just have her call me, I still have my phone on call only with my plan, but it's enough for now"
"Will do, you said you found a job right?"
"Yeah, it seems a bit shady though, I'm definitely desperate enough for it though, remember just call me if you need help with anything. See you soon."
As I got my shoes back on to leave, Cindy cam up to me, looking confused "Mommy, are we leaving already?" she looked up at me with her cute little emerald green eyes, making me second guess myself on leaving her here.
"Don't worry honey, I'm the only one leaving, and I won't leave for long, you're just going to have a . ." I was starting to tear up, I knew that I would be lying to both of them, I would probably be gone for months, and I would probably not have much communication, I had to resort to being a lab rat, testing out drugs and medication that would make me all loopy, or worse, actually hurt my health. "you're going to have a really big sleepover here, okay?"
"Okay mommy!" she ran off to Jane, and I heard her right before I left "Did you hear Auntie Jane, we're going to have a sleepover!"
That was the last thing I heard come out of her mouth for months

Journal Entry 1/8/32
I've finally done it! I have found a way to travel between worlds without the mirror! There are so many worlds that ponykind can travel to. We could broaden our horizons, find new friends, and help worlds from evil. There could interdimensional trade so ponies could explore the multiverse, there is so much that could be explored and discovered.
Tonight I will finally open a portal to an unexplored realm, and I will test to see if items can be moved between, if they can I will be entering it for a short time!
I laid my book down on my desk, Today would be the day I thought All of the work I put into this will be worth it. I began casting the spell I had developed. It seemed simple to me now, but it did drain me, I already could feel the fatigue setting in as I began to open a portal. A small white spark appeared in front of me, signaling the spell was working. The spark began to grow to a orb, than to a circular door. It works! I could see another world through the portal that I made in my library.
The portal continued to grow, now the size that I could easily step through, so I ended the spell. However, the portal had other plans, continuing to grow, now it seemed as if the portal was another wall in her library, a big window, though this was to another world. Panicking, I began to cast a counterspell, suppressing the portal back to a spark.
"Phew, that was close" I said as I ended the spell, and began to walk to my desk to take notes on what went wrong. I was interrupted by a large explosion sound, and a shaking. Turning around, I see small white glitter like sparks, what was left of the portal. It exploded, I ruined the space time continuum.
I went outside to the balcony, it seemed normal, at least if you ignored the giant tear in the sky.
Back on Earth 30 minutes ago
"So all I need to do is take one of these a day, for thirty days, and come back here everyday to report to you guys?"
"That is correct m'am"
"Okay, thanks again, I guess I'll see you tomorrow"
"Make sure you take one tonight too"
"Will do!" I replied, as I exited the building, these pills were so weird. They were supposed to help with flirting? What are these scams! How do people have enough money to buy these now of all times. The thought of that confused me on the way back to my house. I knew I could of kept Cindy at my house, but she's going to be starting school soon, and I want her to have a good life, that means not living with me while I'm drugged.
All of my thoughts were interrupted, when what seemed to be a giant explosion above my head. Well this isn't good I thought to myself.
