//------------------------------// // Prologue // Story: Legends of the past: A Power Rangers Story // by TheHardie-Boy //------------------------------// Tommy returned to Earth. He now had different matters to attend to. He needed to know how Rito Revolto got to Equestria and how Rita Repulsa knew about that world. There was a chance this would get very ugly. He arrived at his home in Reefside. He got to his computer and looked up ‘Equestria.’ He mostly just found stuff that had nothing to do with anything other than horseback riding, but he found an article that caught his attention. It told of three instances of ‘Equestrian Magic’ going crazy at the same high school. He looked up the high school called ‘Canterlot High School’ and found mostly the same information. Everything he found told him the same thing. The events were referred to as ‘The Fall Formal,’ ‘The Battle of the Bands,’ and ‘The Friendship Games’. All three of them were pretty similar: someone turned into a monster and was stopped by a group of teenage girls and made their friend, save for the ‘Battle of the Bands’. Tommy couldn’t help but smile. These monsters had gotten pretty much the same treatment as he. It wasn’t much information, but it was enough. Tommy packed a few bags and got into his truck. He was off to Canterlot City. Meanwhile “Sunset, Twilight, are you two coming?” Rainbow Dash yelled at her friends. “Give us a second,” Sunset said, closing her locker. Rainbow was always so impatient, and Sunset loved it. “We’ll be there in a minute. Go ahead and start without us,” Twilight said. “Alright. Just hurry up,” Rainbow said. She went to join her other friends, who already had their instruments ready. “Let me guess,” said Applejack, “They’re going to say goodbye to the biology teacher?” “Well, yeah. I don’t know why they have to do it again. They’ve already done it like a thousand times,” Rainbow said, rolling her eyes. “Oh you know Twilight. Learning’s her whole life, and Sunset has always enjoyed human biology,” said Rarity. “You would be too, if you were a pony from another dimension,” Sunset said, entering the room with her guitar. Twilight followed close behind. “How’s Mr. Skies handling his early retirement?” Fluttershy asked. “Better than he was before. He even told us who was gonna take his place,” Twilight said. “He said it’s gonna be someone named Mr. Oliver. He’ll be here later today,” Sunset added. “I hope he doesn’t have a breakdown like Mr. Skies did. It was really weird,” Pinkie said. “What can I say? Not everyone can handle the weirdness of Equestrian Magic,” Rainbow said. Applejack rolled her eyes. “Are you ever gonna stop talking about your trip to Equestria? We get it: you turned into a pegasus.” “I was being serious. I’m not THAT bad,” Rainbow said. Sunset chuckled. She had always enjoyed the playful banter between Rainbow and AJ. “Okay. Are we gonna practice or what?” “Right, let’s do it!” Rainbow said. The next day Tommy had only just arrived in Camterlot City, and he could already feel the Equestrian Magic he felt in Equestria. Granted, it wasn’t as strong, but that didn’t matter at the moment. What mattered was his investigation. And making a good impression on his new boss, Principle Celestia. The phone interview had gone well. She mentioned that “Strange things tend to happen at the school, usually involving magic.” Tommy wish he could have seen her face when he told her that he had his fair share of strangeness. It wasn’t technically a lie, but he didn’t mention his adventures. He arrived at the school. It looked more like a giant library than anything. It was nice, though, and Tommy thought of what he should do first. He settled for going straight to Principle Celestia’s office. He opened the doors to see exactly what he expected: a bunch of high school kids in the halls. He made his way to the office, avoiding the occasional student running by. He finally got to the office and knocked at the door. “One moment please,” he heard a gentle sounding female voice say. Tommy took a seat and waited for the principle to finish whatever she was doing. A blue-skinned girl with silver hair came out of the office. “Come in,” Tommy heard the voice from before say. Tommy entered the office to see two women that looked about his age. One had white skin and green hair. The other had dark blue skin and slightly less dark blue hair. “You must be Principle Celestia and Vice Principle Luna. I’m Thomas Oliver, but you can call me Tommy,” Tommy said. “It is nice to meet you, Tommy. You are correct. I am Principle Celestia, and this is my sister, Vice Principle Luna,” said Principle Celestia, extending a hand. Tommy shook her hand and also Vice Principle Luna’s hand, and took a seat. “It is nice to know that you have experience teaching. Our last biology teacher had a...incident concerning the...events, which I’m sure my sister explained to you,” said Luna. “Like I said, I’ve seen some weird things in my day,” Tommy said. “I just want to give you your schedule and a small map of the school. It’s surprisingly easy to get lost around here,” said Celestia, making Luna chuckle. “Alright, thanks,” said Tommy, taking his schedule. “My sister will show you to your classroom. You only have one class for today,” said Celestia. “Sounds good. It was nice meeting you,” said Tommy as he and Luna exited her office. As they were walking through the halls, Tommy reminisced about his time at Reefside High. His thoughts shifted toward the reason he was here. “You said you’ve seen some weird thing. Can you explain what?” Luna asked. “Oh, um...it’s complicated. Not kidding when I say this: monster attacks,” Tommy said, making Luna chuckle. The two of them passed a room where Tommy heard music coming from. He slowed his pace and looked toward the door to the room. “Don’t mind them. They call themselves ‘The Rainbooms’. They’re a band, really good too,” Luna explained. “Sounds like it,” Tommy agreed. “Hey, Celestia...or Principle Celestia mentioned strange events here too, but she didn’t really go into detail about them.” “That is a story for another day. Don’t worry, you won’t be kept in the dark for too long,” Luna assured. “Are there any names I should know before I get to know my students?” Tommy asked. “As a matter of fact, yes. I actually made a list for you,” Luna replied, handing him a slip of paper. “And believe it or not, those are also the Rainbooms. They’re not trouble-makers, but you can get information regarding these magical events from them.” “Alright, I’ll check it out later,” Tommy said. Eventually, they finally got to Tommy’s classroom. It didn’t look much different from Tommy’s classroom back in Reefside. “As my sister told you, you only have one class for today. Here is an attendance book for you to get to know the names of your students. If you need anything, feel free to ask my sister or myself. I’ll see you later, Mr. Oliver..or sorry, Tommy,” Luna said, leaving Tommy alone. He put down his stuff and took a seat. He wasted no time pulling out the list Luna gave him and began to examine the names. He was shocked when he saw whose names were on the list. It was six of the seven ponies he met in Equestria: Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Fluttershy. Tommy noticed that Starlight Glimmer’s name wasn’t on the list, but someone named Sunset Shimmer. Tommy wasn’t sure how to react. Theses events took place well over a month ago, but he saw those girls in another dimension not two days ago. He focused a little more on Sunset Shimmer’s name. If he was going to start anywhere , it was going to be with her.
