//------------------------------// // Sisters to the Rescue // Story: Spike Pie // by Silver Butcher //------------------------------// "Wachoo!" the Sneeze echoed through the Almost empty Bakery, Pinkie was working hard and fast in the kitchen taking care of both her customers and her sick brother. As she mixed up the batter for a Carrot Cake she was also trying to keep her rock soup from overcooking again, Pinkie was muttering to herself about baking ingredients and Rock Temperatures when the bell signifying somepony had walking rang, Pinkie slid slightly as she lay the cake out and ran up front to greet her customers, only to find something a hundred times better. "Oh Thank Celestia." She cried out as she fell over the counter. Standing in front of her stood her three sisters. "You got Spike's Letter." "We sent one back," Maud replied when a sneeze echoed through the building again. "Spike's fire going full burn mode." Pinkie responded, "If you sent it, he burned it to ash." "What's that smell?" Limestone asked after a quick sniff, her sisters sniffed and Pinkie's ears shot up. "Burning Soup!" She yelped as she bolted back to the overrunning pot of rock soup, she tossed the lid off and avoided the hot water on the floor as she looked into the pot, it was full of rocks, Pinkie sighed in relief as she moved it off the burner and turned to stove off. "Thank Celestia, all the rocks on top look fine, must have burned some of the bottom ones tho." Pinkie reached for a ladle and found it gone, she turned back and found Maud was stirring the rocks around and randomly removing some. "These burnt one's can come home with me." She said as she put them in her empty thermos, while Maud took over the soup Limestone and Marble followed the sound of Sneezing, as they made their way upstairs the sneezes were joined with coughing and hacking, Limestone walked into the room and Found Spike with his legs and tail on his bed, he was wrapped up in a blanket and had his face on a floor heater with a slightly melted top, Steam left the room as they walked in, the two immediately started sweating as they walked in. Panting slightly Limestone sat next to her brother, leaning back as he shot up and sneezed a torrent of fire up at the room, "Oh hey." Spike sang out, his entire body was a shade of Purple to light, and a Shade of Green to Dark, his eyes had bags beneath them and he looked like he was sweating, something Limestone knew was wrong from experience as the room began to cool down. "I see you've got Temperature cough again." She sighed as she hovered her hoof's near his scales, instantly she felt the heat sucked from her body and she let out an icy breath before pulling away and feeling his Blanket, which was just as cold. "I think we both know that Blanket is just making you colder at this point." "I like this blanket," Spike replied as he flopped next to the Heater, as he lay there the room began to ice up and Marble began shivering when Spike sneezed again and the room began overheating again, Limestone took a step back as the Blanket began smoking. "Spike, your Blankets either going to freeze and shatter or catch fire and burn to ash," Spike muttered back and got up, dropping his blanket to the ground, Marble snuck forward and extracted it before rolling it up and leaving the room with it. Spike and Limestone sat in silence, Limestone then pointed to the heater. "That two." "But I'm cold," Spike complained as frost began forming on his stomach and arms, Limestone reached into her bag and pulled out a Bluebottle. She took a Deep Breath before chugging it, gaging slightly at the taste, she took a hard breath once she finished and turned Blue. She got up and put her hoof on Spike's face now that she was Immune to the Hot and the Cold. Once she confirmed it worked she walked forward and hugged Spike, who leaned into her as she rubbed his back, sniffing slightly before hugging her back. "It's ok." Limestone said in a soothing voice as she rubbed his back, Spike sneezed again as she nuzzled him "I'm here to make it all better." "Thank you so much." Pinkie said as she wrapped up the order, Maud was filling a Bowl full of Rock soup for Spike when Marble came down with the Blanket. "You managed to get him out of the Blanket already!?" Pinkie asked in shock. "I Wish I had Limestone powers." She muttered as she softly poked at the hot Blanket "Been trying to get it away from him since yesterday." "Hm." Marble replied as she took this information in, Maud walked past them with the bowl and they both took a step back. "Hmm." Marble added "I agree, Maud is kind of scary when she's worried, but she just wants Spike to feel better, Temperature cough is like a cold for a Dragon, it's just unfortunate that it happened while the Cake's where away, made everything so much harder." Maud walked up the stairs and followed the coughing to the room, pausing to drink her blue potion before walking in, Limestone was humming to the now partially asleep Spike as Maud walked over to them, Maud took the tray holding the bowl off her back and placed it on a partially melted table in the center of the room. "Gonna have to replace this." She noted as she put a spoon in the bowl and moved so Spike could sit next to it, once Limestone had gotten him to sit at the table Spike muttered. "I'm not hungry." "Spike I've seen you eat a Cake as big as you and keep going, your hungry your body's just making you not want to eat," Spike muttered sleepily in response as Maud gave him a spoon full of the soup with a fair-sized rock in it, Spike turned away and Limestone made him look forward. "Say Ahh." Spike denied her so they went to plan be and made him look at Maud, who looked at him expressionlessly, Spike's face twitched for a moment, then he started chuckling, Maud stood still as Limestone snorted at her, after a few seconds Spike began laughed when Maud put the spoon in his mouth and made him eat the soup, after chewing and swallowing Spike laughed again. "No fair, making faces!" Spike laughed as Maud's expression remained the same. "Master of Comedy," Maud replied as she held up another spoon full. "now open wide and say aw."
