Titans in Equestria

Prologue: The Children of The King

The sun was rising, signifying the start of a new day in Equestria which meant that many ponies were getting up at this time. Multiple ponies such as shop owners, guard ponies, and a certain stallion who's made it a point to get up at dawn throughout his time in Equestria, or more specifically, the capital city Canterlot.

It is in this city that a castle is located, the castle of Princess Celestia. The Alicorn who raises the sun and has been ruling Equestria alone for the past 1,000 years. Though she isn't the main focus right now as she was starting her day in a different room. No, the focus right now is on a stallion who is also living in the castle and starting to get out of bed. The stallion throws himself out of his bed and lands on the ground with a solid 'Thud'. This is enough to get rid of the remaining weariness as he fully opens his yellow eyes.

The stallion picks himself off the ground and walks over to the mirror in his room to give himself a once over. As he looks himself over, he takes in the image of himself as he had done for the past 30 years. The stallion had a ruffled and black mane that stretched from the top of his head to his tail, which happened to be about as long as he was as it stretched out, like a reptile. His coat was a lighter shade of black from his mane and he had a brownish scaled underside that reached from the bottom of his chin to the end of his tail. The ends of his hooves ended in three-toed black claws and his teeth were sharp, like a predator.

As he stared at himself, giving a once over, the stallion proceeded to shake himself, similar to a dog. After shaking himself and giving himself another check the stallion turned towards the knocking sound coming from the door. The stallion narrowed his eyes and took a sniff of the air and once he got the scent of who it was, he relaxed and calmly said "Enter". Upon saying that, a mare dressed in a maid's uniform opened the door and came into the room. She walked in and turn to stare at the stallion in front of her or, more accurately, to stare up at the stallion in front of her.

The mare barely reached the stallions underside so she had to crane her head pretty far back to stare the stallion in the eyes. Though she didn't look like she was experiencing any discomfort as she stared directly into the stallion's eyes she said: "Sir Gojira, the royal bathhouse is ready for your use."

"Thank you, Sweetbread," Gojira replies while walking towards the door.

"Of course sir. Is there anything else you require?" Sweetbread asks as she starts to fix the bed.

"No. You can keep going on your regular schedule." Gojira said as he walked out the door, before abruptly stopping.

Sweetbread notices the lack of Hoofsteps and turns around to face Gojira. "Sir Gojira, is everything ok?" She asks as Gojira turns around to stare at the mare. He walks up to her and narrows his eyes, scanning her. Sweetbread doesn't say anything as Gojira looks her over for a few seconds before looking her back in the eyes and asking "Did you do something new to your mane?"

Sweetbread smiles and nods in acknowledgment while saying "Yes actually, I got it done this morning."

Gojira cracks a faint grin and nods towards her "It looks good" he says while turning and walking back towards and out the door. Sweetbread smiles and gets back to work on making Gojira's room, happy that somepony noticed her new look. As Sweetbread gets back to her job, Gojira walks down the hallways towards the royal bathhouse. He notices and nods to the guards he sees on his way there and they nod back to be polite. After about a 10 minute walk, Gojira arrives at the bathhouse and enters.

The bathhouse was very large and was already misty due to the warm water that already filled the entire bath. Gojira wasted no time and immediately walked into the water to feel the warmth surround his body. He dived under and re-emerged just so that he could get his whole body wet and just relax as he let the soothing feeling of the water claim him. As Gojira relished in the comfort of the bath, he heard the doors to the bathhouse open and looked to see who had walked in. It was a very tall and regal looking mare with a pure white coat and ethereal mane. The mare had a pair of wings on her sides and a long horn atop her head and a mark on her hind legs that looked like the sun.

Her magenta-colored eyes stared into Gojira's yellow ones and the two just stared at each other. Gojira broke the silence by saying "Well? Are you just gonna stand there or what?"

The mare smiles gently and nods in response before walking into the bath. Gojira just sat there as the mare got closer to him and eventually was in front of him. Gojira stared at her and then raised his tail into the air before slamming it into the water making a splash that drenched the mare. She moved pieces of her mane out of her face to stare at Gojira with a slight frown. Gojira's neutral expression slowly morphed into a grin and the mare did the same before giggling lightly, "Now that was quite rude Gojira."

"Well, you're not having the best of mornings seeing as you just stood and stared at me as you walked in here. So I thought you needed a little something to make you aware of your surroundings Celestia."

Celestia huffed and relaxed her shoulder, "I suppose you are right in that regard. In truth, I am a little worried about a recent development."

"What could have you worried?"

"Well, a few days ago I took a filly in as my personal student, and I'm worried that..." Celestia responded with a sad tone while closing her eyes.

Gojira immediately knew what she was going to say, so he moved closer and hugged her. She leaned into his embrace and they both sat there, remembering the child that they had failed. It hurt both of them to think back to her but Gojira and Celestia couldn't help but remember her, especially with the news of Celestia taking another student.

"You're worried this new student will end up the same as our little flame, aren't you?" Gojira questioned, to which he felt Celestia nod into his chest. At the confirmation of his suspicion, Gojira just sighed. It was a natural fear, Gojira knew this all too well. He and Celestia had closed themselves off from others when their 'little flame', as they called her, had taken a darker path. Gojira pushed the pain he felt deep within him as he had done time and time again whenever he felt hurt or sad. He was a King, but more importantly, he was Celestia's other half, if she was feeling vulnerable he needed to be invulnerable. Especially considering how Celestia had handled what had happened.

Saying Celestia had taken it hard was an understatement. She had cried herself to sleep and constantly blamed herself for what happened. Though she was over 1,000 years old and had been running a country for all that time, she was still just a pony, who felt emotions such as joy, anger, pain, and even sorrow. As such, she had taken it very poorly when the mare, that was all but legally her daughter, deserted her and Gojira in search of power. She never showed her emotions when in public, as she had to maintain her image as to not worry her little ponies. But when she lowered the sun and was left alone, she let it all out and cried herself to sleep for months.

Gojira helped her get through the emotional roller coaster she was on and Celestia eventually stopped crying herself to sleep. Though the damage was done and wouldn't be healed anytime soon. Nevertheless, Celestia had gone back to be her old self, mostly. Due to the whole ordeal, Celestia and Gojira were very, VERY cautious about letting others into their inner circle. But now, with this new filly that Celestia had found, Gojira knew that somepony new would be entering and that thought scared him. Though he knew that he had to say something to calm Celestia's, and his, nerves.

"I don't think you're all that worried."

Celestia lifted her head from Gojira's chest to stare at him in slight disbelief. Gojira looked down to see Celestia's face and continued from there. "You say you're worried, yet you saw this filly and made her your personal student. You see great potential in her and you want to make sure she gets there so don't be afraid to let her in."

Celestia stared at Gojira for a while before she started to smile at him and say, "I suppose you're right."

Gojira nodded and finally let go of Celestia while moving to grab the soap to clean himself. He grabbed one for himself and one for Celestia, who enveloped it in her magic and started to clean herself. As they cleaned themselves, Gojira asked, "Am I going to meet your student?"

"I would hope so. If she is going to be learning directly under me then she is bound to meet you. I would like to have that meeting sooner rather than later."

Gojira hummed in response and continued to clean himself. He thought of how the young filly would react when she would meet him. Most ponies are off-put by his appearance and of how Gojira gave off the feeling of a predator. Though, now most ponies just ignored him if he was to walk around the streets of Canterlot, mostly just getting glances from ponies. Except for the nobles, who completely and utterly despised him mostly due to the fact of his relationship with Celestia, he chuckled at that, if only those fools knew the extent of their 'relationship'. Pushing those thoughts away, Gojira was interested in meeting the filly that caught Celestia's eye, so he just continued washing himself thinking of meeting Celestia's new pupil.

A couple of hours had passed and Gojira was just taking a stroll through the castle. He caught a couple of guards staring at him when he walked by, most likely new recruits. Gojira continued walking through the castle before he found himself walking past the entrance to the royal gardens. He would've kept on walking were it not for the fact that he saw a lone unicorn filly sitting under a tree. This caught Gojira's attention and caused him to walk towards the little filly while reminiscing about a similar event that happened years ago.

Gojira grumbled as he made his way to Celestia's room, for the 5th time that day. He was tired of having her assign all these guards to him. They didn't want to follow him and he didn't need babysitters, he had proved his worth when he got rid of that assassin that was trying to kill her. Honestly, he didn't even know about the plot to kill Celestia, the assassin just happened to mess up and move towards Gojira's direction with a knife. Gojira never even hesitated and ended that pony's life but Celestia saw the whole thing and wanted to commend him.

That led to a conversation that essentially ended with Gojira getting a new home. But ever since then, she had been assigning him, guards, to watch over him. At first, he ignored it but then they started to become a problem and he scarred them off as a result. Wasn't hard to do see as he was a head taller than Celestia and therefore towered over them. But Celestia kept assigning new ones to him, and he had talked to her 4 times already about the subject. He was done playing nice and was going to have this problem fixed, one way or another.

He made his way to Celestia's room and barged right in, giving the guards death glares as to stop them from doing anything. He expected to see Celestia when he walked in, he was not expecting to see a small child pony, 'filly' he remembered, sitting next to Celestia's bookcase reading a big book. He looked around and sniffed the room before looking at the filly. He marched towards her and stopped just in front of the very tiny child. He saw her look of fear but noted how she didn't curl in on herself.

"Where is she?"

He saw the look in the filly's eyes, she knew who he was talking about and he knew she knew. But the look changed into something different, the look of feigned ignorance. It was the same look the firebird would give him when he caused trouble and Gojira found out about it. Often Anguirus would try to calm them when the eventual arguing and subsequent brawl broke out. His thoughts paused on that before he pushed them away and focused on the child. She looked at him for a couple of seconds before responding with some of the worst acting he's seen.

"Who?"

"Don't even try to play that card kid, you're not convincing anyone with that."

"You're a stranger who barged into the princess's room and are now menacingly towering over a small child. I could just scream and the guards will handle the rest."

Gojira raised an eyebrow at that and gave the kid some credit. She didn't back down in fear of his size alone and by all accounts had just threatened him. Now that he was paying attention to the filly he noticed that she was a unicorn and had a red and yellow mane. She had a light amber coat and her mark, he refused to use the real term, was that of a red and yellow sun. He eyed her some more before moving towards her and was about to say something before her horn lit up and she fired a small blast of magic at him.

Gojira stopped and stared at the spot on his chest where the filly had shot him. He slowly looked back towards her and saw that she had a look of both pride and worry. It appeared that she had done this on accident and probably was just going to try and scare him with some false bravado. He didn't move and just kept starring at the filly before he started to laugh. Once he stopped he moved towards the filly again but stopped at the edge of the carpet she was on and laid down. He thought about some of the things Mosura had told him about when wanting to interact with children

"You impress me, kid, shooting me like that."

"Ugh... Thanks?"

"What's your name kid?"

"Sunset. Sunset Shimmer. What about you, freakishly tall and weird-looking stallion?"

Gojira chuckled at that before responding, "The names Gojira."

The filly didn't notice his presence as he walked and sat right next to her. Gojira cleared his throat and still, the filly did not look up from her book. Gojira snorted and nudged her a little, which seemed to get her attention as the filly put the book down.

"What?" was the annoyed reply Gojira got from taking her attention away from the book the filly was reading. She tilted her head up slightly, expecting to see the face of an adult. But all she saw was the lower portion of a scaled chest, which made her look up even more. She kept looking until she met Gojira's eyes and seemed to just stare at him. Her eyes were wide with wonder and Gojira could have sworn he saw a little curiosity in her eyes. That made him smirk, revealing his sharp teeth to which the filly recoiled slightly.

Looking over the filly, he could see that her coat was a light purple and that her mane and tail were dark indigo, with a streak of pink and purple in it. Her purple eyes looked at him with fear and wonder, which he assumed came from seeing a pony that looked so different from everypony else. Gojira noticed her mark, which looked like a pink star surrounded by five smaller white ones. Gojira glanced at her book and from the title alone he could guess that this was Celestia's new student.

"That's a pretty complicated book young one. Why are you reading it?"

The filly eyed him for just a bit before slowly answering, "Because I'm Princess Celestia's personal student, I need to be able to handle complex material."

"A reasonable assumption, but I can let you know now. She doesn't get to the more complex stuff until the 4th year of her teaching."

The filly looked at him in surprise before quickly asking, "How do you know?"

"I'm one of the Princess's closest friends, I've seen her teach before."

The filly scrunched up and backed up a little, eyeing Gojira, "How do I know you're telling the truth?"

Gojira thought for a second before having an idea. He looked around checking for others before leaning down to the filly's eye level. He motioned for her to come closer, which she did hesitantly. He looked around one more time before whispering into her ear.

"Celestia sneaks out of her bedroom every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday night to the royal kitchen for some cake. She does this because she doesn't want to be seen eating lots of cake and the papers question if her butt will get bigger because of it."

The filly started to laugh at the outlandish claim and Gojira smiled at that. If this kid was going to stick around, he was determined to have her see Celestia in the act because if she was laughing this much at him telling her this, she would laugh even harder if she saw it. The filly settled down after another minute of laughing and caught her breath.

"Hehe... You have to be her friend if you know something like that. I'm Twilight Sparkle, who are you?"

"The names Gojira. And just a heads up, you'll be seeing a lot more of me if you're gonna be Celestia's student."

Twilight smiled, "I think I could get used to that."

Gojira smiled down at her and proceeded to stand up. Reminding Twilight of how tall Gojira was as compared to other ponies as she barely came up to half of his forearm. Twilight got up too and picked up her book in her magic, stuffing it into the little bag that she had. She turned back to Gojira, only to see him walking towards the door that lead back into the castle.

Twilight scurried over to him and followed right beside him, listening as he said, "Well, let's get to your lesson then."

That sentence had brought Twilight back to reality as she realized that she didn't know what time it was. She looked around and spotted a clock on one of the walls. The time read 9:58. Twilight's eyes shrunk to the size of pins as she jumped in the air while screaming "I'm gonna be late". And with that, she bolted right for Celestia's room.

Gojira chuckled as she ran and started to jog to catch up with her impressive lead. All the while thinking, 'What kind of mess did I just sign up for?'. He shook his head and started to run towards Twilight, easily catching her, picking her up, and placing her on his back in one swift motion. Twilight looked down at Gojira and he looked back at her with a sharp grin. She smiled in return and that was all Gojira needed to high tail it into gear and start racing towards Celestia's room. All the while, Twilight screaming and laughing with joy as she was rushed to her lesson.
