//------------------------------// // Prologue: A God's Decision // Story: Titans in Equestria // by SunsetDragon //------------------------------// Waves crashed violently into each other, with enough force to knock cargo ships upside down. The night sky roared with the sounds of thunder and the displays of lightning. A storm like this can be seen in many ways and some believe that storms like this are nature's way of waking up its guardian. Though that assumption is completely false, a storm like this is merely Mother Nature just giving the world a quick once over in a flashy way. Beneath the waves, the ocean itself wasn't fairing much better than the surface. The motions beneath the surface of the water were harsh and any moving creature was having the most difficult time trying to swim. This only applied to everything on the upper surface of the ocean, as the lower one got the easier the currents became. However, for one individual of Terra, none of this concerns him. For this individual, the weather is nothing but an afterthought as it has hardly ever made an impact on him. This individual slept far beneath the waves in a secret temple, built by people from long ago who understood the gods of old. The temple's entrance was completely submerged in the darkest depths, while the inner sanctum was dry as it was within the earth, evident by the rivers of nuclear lava that flowed throughout the sanctum. Near the center of the sanctum, laid a beast of ginormous proportions, unlike any the world had ever seen. Or he was, before the year of 1954, and the rest of the years that followed as there were a few beings like him that had emerged throughout this time. Though these new beings barely held any real relation to him as he was the last of his kind, one of a handful of true Gods to have lived through the Permian era and survive that fatal extinction. He often thought about that time, when life was much simpler for him. Back when they had ruled the world and humans were nothing but afterthoughts. He had endured much during that time but it ultimately ended in a way that he could have never comprehended and had never dreamed of. That thought quickly left him, as it tended to bring him to certain memories that he didn't want to remember. The being appeared to be at rest and looked as though it was enjoying the rest it got. The beast had a face that looked tired and was taking in deep breaths basking and absorbing the radiation all around him. The beast itself looked very peculiar, unlike any living animal that was naturally born from Terra. The creature is blackish with its underside being of a lighter tone. It has reptilian-like skin all over its body and claws at the end of its hands. It has dorsal spines shaped like spikes running from the base of its neck going all the way to the end of its long tail. It has a square-shaped head and a broad neck, with gills on it, and has small sharp teeth aligned within its jaw. The beast's overall design was bulky and this also carried over to his legs, as they were thick with curved claws on its feet. The beast's length was practically absurd as it appeared to be over 500 feet long and its height is about 350 feet. The beast was immensely large, with only a few others being either larger or taller than him. His size was one of the many things that made him intimidating, along with his physical prowess and his reputation. There were only a select few who didn't fear the name of Gojira and even fewer that dared to incur his wrath. Though he was grateful that he was allowed rest after his recent bout to protect Terra, as it left him exhausted. Immediately after dealing with the Mutos, he had traveled home to rest and he felt the effects of the battle on the way, most evident by how he limped into the ocean. He, the God of Destruction, the Alpha Predator, and the King of the Titans had to limp to the ocean just so he could swim back home to get some proper rest. At first, he couldn't believe it, he knew that he would be a bit rusty as this would be his first fight in quite some time. But to be left completely exhausted, to the point that he needed to not only limp back to sea but to have to put himself on autopilot to swim back home. He couldn't believe it! He felt old and looked the part after the end of the battle, he needed to be more active to avoid another incident like that. Gojira rumbled though as his attention was immediately drawn to a call, similar to his own but different. It must have been one of the newest generations of Titans, or Kaiju as the humans called them now. Abominations created from human arrogance but still the closest things to the original Titans left in the world. Gojira focused on the call and knew exactly who it was, it was the offshoot of himself as he liked to call the Kaiju. The humans named him Godzilla and while he slept within the earth they had started calling this pretender the 'King of the Monsters'. Gojira snorted at that, that monster was no king he was just a self-absorbed baby who constantly had tantrums. But thinking on it, Gojira was aware of his presence even in slumber yet every time he tried to rise and deal with him he ended up going into a deeper sleep. It was odd and he didn't know what to make of it and that annoyed him. Though just as these thoughts entered his mind he was overcome with a wave of sleep and a voice calling to him. He let himself relax and focused on answer the call, whatever it was it wanted his attention so he would begrudgingly give it Gojira opened his eyes and surveyed the landscape around him as it was evident that he was not within his temple anymore. This new environment could only best be described as ethereal, as it looked like Gojira was standing in the universe itself. He turned around to see a being standing before him, one of pure power. It appeared female as she was wearing a dress that was colored dark green, she also had on gauntlets that appeared to be made of rock, with lava flowing through them. Her skin was fair and her eyes were a smooth shade of dark yellow. Her hair had a patch of grey in the front, that flowed into a light green, with flowers that appeared to be woven into her hair. This being was powerful but Gojira would not bow to this being, at least not willingly. He got into a stance and started to flash his spines in a specific pattern. He snarled as he raised himself to his full height and slammed his tail into the ground to try and scare this being. All she did in return was smile and raise her hands in mock surrender and gave a slight bow of her head. Gojira relaxed his stance and stopped his display but held caution towards this female. "Thank you for answering my call Gojira, I must speak with you." The woman said "Hard not to when it was so persistent." Gojira grumbled before asking, "Now who are you?". "I am Gaia, the literal personification of the earth." Gaia introduced "Huh, guess Mosura's spiritual talk had some truth." "Indeed, but I did not call you here for small talk." "Then why have you called me here?" "For that, we need one more person to join us." Gaia said as a burst of energy emerged into the space Gojira and her were in, "And there she is." The energy that emerged shifted into another female form, about as tall as Gaia, bringing them both to Gojira's shoulder. She wore purple armor over a light blue dress, her skin was a light pink that got darker in patches across her skin. She wore black gauntlets that matched the black crown atop her head and her hair seemed to sparkle like stars in the night. The detail that stuck out to Gojira was that at the tip of her forehead, a horn stuck out. The horn was curved and had sparkled as if it were made of crystal. She looked toward Gaia before looking towards Gojira and she stared him down. Gojira growled and flashed his spines in response before huffing and squaring his shoulders. She stopped the stare down and held out her hand towards Gojira. He was perplexed at first but replicated the gesture anyway and then turned his attention towards Gaia again. "Gojira, this is Harmony one of the living embodiments of a world known as Equus." "Charmed, I'm sure." Harmony said in a dull tone. Gojira turned towards Harmony again and guessed she either didn't want to be here or just wanted whatever was going to happen faster. He could agree with either of those options, as he was getting tired too and just wanted to get this meeting over with. So he looked back to Gaia again and simply asked, "Ok so I've met two Goddesses basically, but what is it that I'm here for?" "The reason for this meeting is to inform you of what will be happening to you and your kind." Harmony replied. "Indeed", Gaia said, "You and the rest of the Titans on earth will be moved to Harmony's world so that you don't die in the coming extinction of earth." That sentence had halted Gojira's train of thought the moment it left Gaia's mouth. He was left starring at Gaia and Harmony in complete disbelief. The death of earth, no not death, her words were extinction. The place he called home would be destroyed, he and his kind would be moved to another world? This was a lot and before his thoughts could spiral he felt a hand on his shoulder. Gojira looked to see Gaia, hand on his shoulder, looking at him with a calm expression. It helped him calm down and he took a deep breath before letting it out. He looked back towards Gaia and gave her a nod. She let go of his shoulder and moved back to stand next to Harmony, and then she waved her hand and made a screen appear. "In multiple parts of the universe, stars are exploding but they are doing so in a way that is turning into a series of events" Gaia explained, "These stars are setting off other smaller ones but it is causing a chain of stars, new and old, to explode and that is ripping apart the universe." "Around half of your universe has already been destroyed and the sector where earth is will be destroyed in about a week." Harmony continued, "But Gaia doesn't want to call it closer so she called out to me and I agreed to her plan" "So we have been contacting certain Titans to tell them of what will be happening." Gaia finished "So we will all be transported to a new world so we don't die?" Gojira asked, before adding, "Why?" "Because your kind has gone through many hardships, and the newest generation has been scarred by humanity in their very creation. Plus I have a soft spot for your kind." Gaia explained. "So when will this be happening then?" Gojira asked "As soon as this conversation is over the process will commence," Harmony said, "It is not that hard and every Titan, New, and Old, from earth and not from earth will be transported simultaneously." "Those who are in hibernation will stay in hibernation and the others will figure out the new world after being fed certain information," Gaia said "Huh, very well then." Gojira said, "I'll leave you to it then." Harmony raised a brow at that, "No questions?" Gojira shook his head before he turned around and started to fade away, signaling his leaving of this call. He faded the more he walked and before he fully vanished he said, "I'll figure it out." Harmony turned her attention back towards Gaia, who just shrugged at Gojira's response. Harmony huffed and shook her head before lifting a hand and concentrated her magic into it. Gaia did the same and both magics started to combine, causing a giant ball of magical energy to emerge. The ball got larger and larger before rapidly shrinking into the size of a golf ball. Both clapped their hands and the energy blasted outwards in a pulse fashion before it faded away. At the end of it, Gaia had looked paler and see-through than before. Her breathing had gotten a little heavier and Harmony moved towards her to rest a hand on the other deity. Gaia looked towards her and gave a tired smile before she shifted into a sitting position and looking out into the void they were in. Harmony looked out as well before letting go of Gaia and turning to leave. "Take care of them please." Harmony paused in her walk and looked back towards Gaia. She hadn't moved, she still had her back towards Harmony but she could see droplets of tears coming down her cheeks. Harmony let out a sigh and continued onward, slowly disappearing as she left. She turned around to face Gaia once again and whispered, "I'll try." before vanishing completely. Gaia smiled as she stared off into the void, slowly vanishing into nonexistence, she looked up and closed her eyes as the void around her had started to glow brightly, indicating the end of her universe. She was content to know that the Titans would still live on and smiled as she and her universe vanished from existence.
