	Chapter 2




Rover left the conference room and headed over to the visitor room that Twilight and company were staying. All but one of the leaders had agreed to help in the war. The Dimond Dogs were Equestrians in a way, and this was as much their country as it was the ponies.

Making his way down the last mine shaft Rover ran into one of the lookouts from above. “Sir, urgent news” the lookout said with some worry. 

“What is it” 

“A griffon party is on its way” Rover widened his eyes. They didn’t do anything to attract the attention of the Griffons yet. But Twilight and the Whiney One had come here and that could have proven enough reason.

“Get the guard ready no matter what they say do not let them into the colony until I great them outside” Rover said. 

“Yes Sir” the lookout said and left to return to his post. Rover then ran towards the visitor’s room to warn Princess Twilight of the impending danger.

“-and he said owls who, I said yes they do” Pinkie was telling some jokes to pass the time. After her funny knock knock joke story telling the whole room laughed uncontrollably. 

“Oh, if only Burst were here he would be bursting with laughter” Bubble Berry said. That joke made Black Feather, Dusk and himself laugh ever so harder. Burst was, one, not a laughing guy and second his name works with that joke so well it has become a regular joke around the Flugels, much to Burst annoyance.

Rover burst through the door and immediately called twilights name. “Princess Twilight, a griffon party is coming we don’t know what they are coming for but I thought that I should warn you” Rover said. As soon as the Griffons were mentioned Black Feather, Dusk and Berry were ready with weapons drawn. “We will hold them here as long as we can while you get out of here and back to Ponyville” Rover said.

Right after Rover finished talking an explosion rumbled the whole mine. “Breached, the colony is breached” A Diamond Dog guard came running by. Several guards were now on their way to the breach to repel the new attackers from their home.

“with all due respect Rover, we will stay and help you” Twilight said. 

“Then I accept and appreciate your help” Rover said before everyone left to head to the breach point.

Before they even got there two Griffon Legionnaires were cleaning their weapons from the bodies of two Diamond Dog guards. Rover never stopped running and picked up a rock and smashed the first Legionnaire in the head, he did the same to the second one and continued forward. The group eventually made it to a ledge overseeing the colony entrance where the griffons had set up a small ‘base’ but the Diamond Dogs were grouping up and pushing the Legionnaires slowly back.

“there’s no way that they got through this quickly” Rover said. Twilight got a hold of the situation and started to command her three men. 

“Black Feather, Dusk, Berry head down there and assist the Diamond Dogs to push the Griffons back” The three nodded and at the same time jumped off the ledge and into the colony buildings. Rover saw them move from one rooftop to the next and was astonished by the sight before him. Black Feather moved straight forward passing obstacles as they arouse. Dusk basically was parkouring over and on the obstacles in his was. Berry was using his swiftness to avoid objects until he reached the edge to the colony square. The three men jumped off the last rooftop and began assisting the Diamond Dogs advance.

“Come on let’s get down there” Twilight said. The rest of the group followed to the square down the safer route.

Gorgan was commanding the front of the troops while Windger was helping with the wounded and directing the Assault squads where to go. Gorgan had cut down about half a dozen Dogs in his way when he went to go for a seventh his sword collided with a purple one. He looked to the holder to see Black Feather General of Princess Twilight's army, and traitor to the Empire.

When Black Feather collided swords with Gorgan he never thought he would see him again. Both Black Feather and Gorgan stared for a minute before the two were locked in a battle to control the center of the plaza. Around them soldiers began to stop fighting and looked at the two swordsmen move as it they were dancing with each other. Their movements were precise, their form amazing, their technique perfect. Those who were spectating watching this fight knew these two had dueled before. Nearly a few minutes of fighting before the two stopped and backed away painting from breathless lungs.

“It can’t be you leading these Legions Gorgan, the strategies and plans are well to thought out, the way you commanded your Legion back during the Rebellion was terrible and easily out maneuverable.” Black Feather said. 

“You hurt me BF I thought you would give me more credit than that, I was the commanding officer during Prince Hain’s ambush” Gorgan said. Twilight and the remaining group arrived to see a big group surrounding two people. Twilight moved till she was in front between a Diamond Dog Guard and a Griffon Legionnaire both of whom moved to the side so she could get in. she saw Black Feather staring down an enemy officer and called to him.

“Black Feather, stop him and push forward” Twilight said. 

“Yes Twilight” Black Feather called. 

“Since when do you obey orders” Gorgan asked. 

“It wasn’t an order, it is a favor” Black Feather continued his assault on Gorgan. He used similar moves when he fought Gabriel near the Great Plains but some of Gorgan’s moves were new to him to. Yet they fought each other non-the less.

Windger had gotten the wounded either healed or evacuated out of the Colony. He then got his men together and went to reach the front where the fighting was. As he reached the front he saw soldiers from both sides standing there watching something. “soldier what is going on” Windger asked one of the Legionnaires standing by. 

“Colonel sir, lieutenant Gorgan is dueling the enemy General sir” the Legionnaire said. 

“Oh, this is a must see” Windger moved to the front and had eyes widened as he saw that the General wasn’t the Diamond Dogs leader but the Equestrian General Black Feather. Then an evil smile came to Windgers face as he stood and watched the rest of the duel.

After a few more minutes of fighting both Gorgan and Black Feather fell to a knee out of exhaustion. Twilight and Flutter shy ran to Black Feathers aid while only one moved to Gorgan’s. Black Feather thought he was going to pass out until he heard a voice that he never thought he would hear again. “Well done Gorgan now rest up” Black Feather looked towards Gorgans position to see none other than Windger.

Fear and anger had entered Black Feathers Eyes Twilight could see it. She looked over to see one Griffon but didn’t recognize him. But Black Feather did. “Well, well it is good to you still alive little Brother” Windger said. Nearly all the Equestrians gasped in shock or horror. 

“you are still alive, I thought you died during the assassination mission” Black Feather said. 

“No, of course not, you know I will do anything to survive” Windger said. 

“Yeah, so what was it” Black Feather said with venom. 

“Well it was either me or little Keaton and I obviously am still here” Windger said with an evil smile.

Twilight knew what was going on. Windger was trying to get into Black Feathers head and he succeeded. “YOU BASTARD, he was our brother” Black Feather said. Twilight and Flutter shy gasped at that. Twilight knew his little brother was killed but she didn’t know why. 

“Yeah but I wanted to live, Gorgan recall the men we’re leaving” Windger said the last bit to his lieutenant. 

“Yes sir” Gorgan said.

“Wait, we are not done here Windger” Black Feather said. 

“yes, we are little brother, but we will meet again and next time only one brother will be left alive” Windger said turned around to leave. 

“Windger” Black Feather yelled.

After everything was cleaned up and the wounded were being taken care of. Twilight and company left and headed back to Ponyville. Black Feather had been distant but not everything was just bad news. The Diamond Dogs had agreed to join the war on Equestria’s side, and now they had more information on the enemy commander.

“Black Feather are you ok” Black feather was spacing out and only came out of it when Flutter shy asked him. 

“Yeah, I’m fine. I just didn’t expect to see him again is all” Black feather said. 

“well then we still have a lot of preparations to finish, so you have enough to keep you mind busy” Rainbow Dash said. 

“I have decided that we will need better trained teams than just Flugel Squad, what do you think Black Feather” Twilight asked. 

“instead of many different elite squads, let’s make Flugel squad a company instead” Black feather said. 

“What” 

“many more recruits will have heard of the Flugels who have conquered enemy numbers with so little they will want to live the legend itself. So, we will do that. Anyone who thinks they have potential will be able to go through rigorous training and several more of AJ’s workout sessions to become a Flugel” Black feather finished. 

“I like it” Applejack said. 

“I agree” Rarity announced. 

“Awesome” Rainbow Dash said. 

“Yeah let’s do it” Pinkie Pie and Bubble Berry cheered. 

“Yay” Flutter shy agreed. 

“Alright, Dusk can you handle this training” Twilight said. 

“with Black Feathers help no problem” Dusk answered. 

“Alright then let’s get started” twilight said. 

“YEAH”
