Go Away

No More Helping

It was currently 11:30 in the morning and the three girls formerly known as The Dazzlings were spread out amongst their mansion-sized house. Adagio Dazzle, the oldest of the three, was busy getting some water in a bucket and a a rag to clean the stove, fridge and microwave as they'd gotten dirty. Aria Blaze, the second oldest, was upstairs making hers and Sonata Dusk's, the youngest sister, beds. Sonata was also in the kitchen, as Adagio was watching her for Aria as she often was told to do while Aria did her chores around the house. Aria was very, very protective and caring of Sonata, who had severe anxiety, and was always there when Sonata needed her and was never afraid to speak up if someone was being mean to her younger sister. Adagio on the other hand cared very little for Sonata and her anxiety, often stating that Aria was overprotective or that Sonata just faked half the time so Aria would feel sorry for her.

Currently, Sonata was playing with three of the toy horses she'd brought up from her playroom downstairs. She was playing at the end and on the left side of the floating island, which is where the stove was, sitting there so Adagio would be able to see her better while she was cleaning. Sonata looked up and watched Adagio take out the metal cooking rack from inside the stove and set it in the sink before turning back to the stove and dipping the cloth she had in the bucket of soapy water beside her to wipe down the top of the stove.

"Dagi." Sonata said while crawling over to her oldest sister.

"What?" Adagio flatly asked, not really in the mood for talking while she was cleaning, not bothering to look over at her youngest sister.

"Can Dusty and I help you?" Sonata asked, referring to the brown toy horse in her hand.

"Who's Dusty?" Adagio asked, confused as to who Sonata was talking about

"My horsey." Sonata answered, holding her horse up so Adagio could see it.

"Oh, right. Um, I guess you can help if you want." Adagio replied as she grabbed an extra rag from the counter behind her and handed it to her youngest sister, also getting her a bucket full of soapy water.

"Yay!" Sonata excitedly exclaimed, setting her toy horse down beside her and grabbing the cloth from Adagio's hand.

"Ok, you know what you're doing right?" Adagio asked as she went back to wiping the top of the stove.

"Yep." Sonata answered as she dipped the cloth into the bucket of water beside her.

Sonata turned and began to clean the front of the stove while Adagio did the top of it. After a few minutes, Adagio looked down to see how her youngest sister was doing. When she saw the water dripping from the cloth Sonata was using and that Sonata had water all over the floor, she instantly became upset and mad at her youngest sister.

"What are you doing?!" Adagio asked while shouting at her youngest sister.

"Cleaning the stove like you said." Sonata answered cautiously, looking up at Adagio with a scared look on her face due to Adagio's instant raised tone.

"Well then why is there water all over the floor?" Adagio asked again as she pointed to the water on the floor in front of Sonata.

"Um, I-I don't know?" Sonata quietly answered again, stuttering slightly, slightly backing away from her enraged sister.

"Did you wring the cloth out before you wiped the stove with it?" Adagio asked as she knelt down so she was at eye level with her sister.

"N-No, I didn't know I was supposed to. You never said to do that." Sonata replied, beginning to breathe slightly heavier as she was becoming to upset, was getting to pressured by Adagio and was also getting scared.

All the things currently happening were causing Sonata's anxiety levels to rise and causing her to become upset, scared and confused.

"I didn't think I had to tell you idiot! It's common sense! Oh wait, I forgot, you don't think like that at all! You just do what you think is right without asking!" Adagio spat as she yelled at her youngest sister, reaching over and ripping the cloth from her grasp.

"Wait, I want to help you!" Sonata exclaimed loudly when Adagio took the cloth from her.

"No! Now get out you useless little brat!" Adagio shouted as she loudly set the bucket Sonata'd been using in the empty side of the sink and then threw the rag into it.

Instantly, Sonata got up, grabbed her three toy horses and ran out of the kitchen, beginning to cry loudly while she did. She ran up the stairs and down the hall to her bedroom where she knew her older and protective sister was. Aria, who heard crying that seemed to be getting louder and louder, turned and saw her younger and clearly distressed sister run into the bedroom and over to her.

"Ari!" Sonata screamed between her sobs as she ran over and hugged her older sister, burying her face into her chest while she cried.

Shh. What's the matter?" Aria softly asked as she gently hugged her sister back and began to gently rub her back to calm her down.

"I-I was trying to, help, Dagi and then she, she-" Sonata tried to talk through her sobs but was interrupted by them.

"Ok, let's calm you down first and then you can tell me what happened." Aria softly explained as she gently led Sonata over to her bed and sat down on the foot of Sonata's bed. Sonata immediately crawled onto her lap and buried her face into her chest again and continued to cry.

"Shh, it's ok Nata, I've got you." Aria softly said as she gently rubbed her sister's back to calm and reassure her.

Sonata wrapped her arms around her older sister's shoulders while she calmed down, Aria continued to rub her back and whisper to her while she calmed her down. After a couple minutes went by, Sonata took a few deep breaths and began calming down and her crying began to let up, she also moved her head to rest it on Aria's right shoulder.

"Ok, now tell me what happened." Aria softly said when she felt her sister had calmed down.

"I was helping Dagi wash the stove and was wiping the front of it with a cloth that had water on it and then she got mad at me because I didn't wring out the cloth before wiping the stove but I didn't know I was supposed to." Sonata explained, turning to look at her older sister.

"Is that all?" Aria asked, wanting to know if that's all that'd happened or not.

"No. After I told her I didn't know I had to wring the cloth out before wiping the stove, she called me an idiot and made fun of me for not being able to understand something that's apparently common sense. Then she told me to get out and called me a useless brat." Sonata explained again, hugging her sister while she did so she wouldn't start crying again.

"It's ok. You're not an idiot and you're definitely not a useless brat, you just didn't fully understand what you had to do, which she should've known and should've explained to you." Aria softly replied, gently kissing her younger sister's forehead.

"Are you going to talk to Dagi?" Sonata asked, knowing her sister would most likely want to defend her.

"You bet I am. Do you want to stay here or come with me?" Aria asked as she gently moved Sonata off her lap so she could stand up.

"Um, if I stay here you'll come back right?" Sonata asked, not really wanting to go downstairs and see Adagio at the moment.

"Yeah I will, I'll talk to Adagio and come right back ok." Aria answered, smiling at her younger sister to let her know everything was fine.

"Ok." Sonata quietly replied, watching her sister leave the room after returning her smile.

Aria walked out of the room and made her way over and down the stairs, she turned when she got to the bottom of the stairs and walked into the kitchen. She saw that Adagio was busy washing the inside of the stove now, so she walked over and around to the side of the floating island that Adagio was on.

"Do you want to tell me why you called Sonata what you called her and did what you did to her?" Aria flatly asked as she glared at her older sister, fighting back the urge to grab her.

"She made a mess, what else was I supposed to do." Adagio quickly replied, standing up straight to face Aria.

"Tell her what to do without yelling at her. Don't get so mad, she didn't know." Aria flatly answered, leaning on the counter and crossing her arms in front of her.

"Yeah well I'm trying to clean this, I don't have time to tell her what to do and then clean up her mess." Adagio explained again, going back to cleaning the stove.

"You're apologizing to her later." Aria said before leaving the kitchen to go back upstairs.

"You're apologizing to her later" Adagio mocked under her breath once Aria left, rolling her eyes while she did.

"Ugh!" Aria exclaimed to herself as she walked back into Sonata's bedroom.

"Ari, are you mad?" Sonata quietly and hesitantly asked her older sister after hearing her irritated sounding exclaim.

"Yeah, at Adagio though, not at you." Aria calmly answered, changing her whole demeanour as she walked over to her sister.

"Ok." Sonata replied.

"Here, why don't you play with your toys. I have to finish putting your clothes away and then make your bed ok." Aria softly explained as she handed Sonata the three toy horses Sonata'd left on her bed when she'd been upset and then walked over and grabbed the little toy bin that was in Sonata's room that had some of her toy horses in it and walked over and set it down beside Sonata.

"But, you're busy. I don't want you to have to watch me while you're busy." Sonata exclaimed when her sister set her toy bin down next to her.

"It's ok Nata. I'd sooner have you up here right now than down in the living room." Aria softly replied as she stood up to go continue what she was doing.

"Oh, ok." Sonata said before turning to play with her toys.

Aria opened the drawer for Sonata's undergarments and set her washed undergarments in it before closing the drawer and moving to the drawer where she put Sonata's short sleeved shirts away. She'd set her phone down on Sonata's bedside table while she was busy, since she didn't care if her sister found it and grabbed it to play on it, as she knew Sonata would ask first.

DING!

"Ari, your phone made a noise." Sonata said to her older sister after hearing her sister's phone ding.

"Yeah, I'll check it in a second." Aria replied as she finished putting her sister's short sleeved shirts away.

DING!

"Or, I'll check it now." Aria said after her phone dinged again.

"What's the dings for Ari?" Sonata asked after her sister grabbed her phone and turned it on.

"My SnapChat." Aria answered while she checked her SnapChat. Seeing two people'd sent her snaps.

"Can I see?" Sonata asked, crawling over to her sister to see what was on her phone.

"Yeah." Aria answered again, kneeling down beside her sister so Sonata could see her phone screen.

Sonata looked at the two snaps that were sent to her sister and then watched as her sister sent something back to the two people who'd just sent her them. It was a picture of Sonata's room that her sister captioned 'Just chilling with my little sister.'

"Can I play with the thingys?" Sonata asked, wanting to play with the filters on her sister's SnapChat.

"Yeah. Go ahead." Aria answered, getting the filters on her SnapChat for her sister after flipping the camera around and then handing her phone to Sonata.

"Thanks." Sonata replied, gently taking her sister's phone to play on it.

"You're welcome." Aria said, kissing her younger sister's cheek and then getting up to go back and finish putting Sonata's clothes away.
