In a shady area of Canterlot, there lies a shadowy bar called the Dark Trotter. Inside, a bunch of unscrupulous characters sit at tables, enjoying drinks, playing card games, and other stuff. At one of the tables, four major fiends, Tirek, Chrysalis, King Sombra, and Cozy Glow welcome an honored guest.
“Grogar!” Tirek announced. “It is an honor to have you with us.”
“Thank you, friend.” The evil goat replied. “It is nice to be here among friends.”
“If I’m to have any friends,” Cozy Glow indicated, “it might as well be with all of you.”
Chrysalis placed her hoof on Cozy Glow’s shoulder. “You’re fortunate Sombra and I broke you and Tirek out of Tartarus, Cozy Glow.”
“Now,” Sombra added, “we’re joined by a legendary fiend from the days of Ponyland.”
The villains clapped with honor to Grogar.
“Thank you.” Grogar said with joy. “All of you. It’s my honor to join such despicable villains like you. I heard that Twilight Sparkle, The Princess of Friendship, gave you all plenty of trouble.”
“Indeed.” Tirek replied. “I tricked the reformed Discord to think I’m on his side. Afterwards, I imprisoned Celestia, Luna, and Cadence in Tartarus, and stole their alicorn magic.”
“Didn’t you do that to Twilight Sparkle too?” Sombra wondered.
“I did, Sombra. But, by unlocking a strange box, she and her friends acquired rainbow magic. Then, they drained my power. After that, I was locked up in Tartarus again. And, the princesses were free.”
Grogar gave an evil eye to Tirek. “Is that magic how Twilight got her castle?”
“Unfortunately, yes.”
King Sombra stood up and got their attention. “That’s as bad as mine. My dark spirit was about to conquer the Crystal Empire. Until that meddling dragon, Spike, retrieved the Crystal Heart. It’s magic protected the Crystal Empire, and wiped me out.”
“Ooo.” Grogar howled. “That was bad.”
“Wait until you hear my story.” Chrysalis interrupted.
Everyone heard her story. “I wanted to get revenge for my plans to disrupt Cadence’s wedding. So, my changelings and I captured the princesses, the Mane Six, Spike, and the royal family of the Crystal Empire.”
“So,” Cozy Glow spoke up, “what happened?”
“A noble unicorn, Starlight Glimmer, rounded up a band of former villains, including the wayward changeling, Thorax, to rescue all of my prisoners. When Thorax made a transformation to a good creature, the other changelings followed his example.”
“And, you were defeated too.” Tirek figured.
“Yes! Thanks to Starlight’s interference, I lost my army, my hive, and my prisoners!”
Chrysalis banged her head on the table when Sombra went to her. “Easy, Chrysalis. No need to smash a table over this.”
“Sorry, Sombra. Defeat always leaves a bad taste in a villain’s mouth.”
“I know how that feels.” Cozy Glow stated.
Her statement caught Grogar’s attention. “What happened to you, little one?”
Cozy Glow explained her story. “When Twilight’s school opened, the purpose is to spread friendship to all creatures. But, I thought friendship means power. So I came up with a good plan.”
“This I got to hear.” Grogar said.
“I tried to steal all the magic from Equestria. But, the class of creatures, who call themselves the Young Six, interfered and ruined my plans.”
“And, she got locked in Tartarus like I was.” Tirek added.
Chrysalis looked at the other villains, and turned to the vicious goat. “How about you, Grogar? What’s your story?”
“My story took place centuries ago,” Grogar answered, “before any of you were born.”
“Probably in the days of my namesake ancestor.” Tirek figured. “Proceed.”
Grogar told his story. “I used magic to capture a few unicorns. When I brought my evil city, Tambelon, to Ponyland, my army helped capture lots more ponies.”
“Didn’t you capture those pesky human kids I hear so much about?” Cozy Glow asked.
“Megan, Danny, and Molly? I did. But, some how they escaped. And, all got out of Tambelon before it disappeared for good.”
Tirek, Chrysalis, Cozy Glow, and Sombra got very upset hearing this.
“Those pesky kids!” Sombra yelled. “How dare they get in your way!”
“I know.” Grogar replied. “I’ve been fuming about that since I found a way to escape.”
Tirek soon had an idea. “Those ponies may pick us off one by one. But, what if we join forces against them.”
Chrysalis opened her eyes wide. “Yeah! We can be a powerful army. And, there are others who would like to get back at them!”
“The only one we can call on is the Storm King.” Sombra suggested. “Remember, Starlight Glimmer, Trixie Lulamoon, and Discord are reformed.”
Chrysalis shook her head in disgust. “Don’t remind me. And, we can’t rely on the Flim Flam Brothers. They’re only interested in making money for their Las Pegasus resort.”
Everyone agreed. Tirek soon made a dark statement. “Either way, once we gather other villains to join us, we will all conquer Equestria and beyond!”
Tirek, Chrysalis, Sombra, and Cozy Glow laughed wickedly. Then, Grogar spoke to Tirek in a different voice. “I don’t think so!”
Grogar soon rammed into Tirek into another table. Shadowy ponies got out of the way before he crashed. Tirek was soon dizzy. “Did I offend you somehow?”
Grogar soon looks at Tirek with a vicious glare. Cozy Glow turned Grogar around as Sombra made a statement. “So, we have an impostor amongst us.”
Tirek got his composure and joined the others. He looked at Grogar with confusion. “If this is not the legendary Grogar? Who is it?”
“A wayward changeling who turned my army against me.” Chrysalis answered. “Right, Thorax?”
Grogar transformed into his real self. Thorax, the leader of the changelings.
“A foolish effort, Thorax.” Sombra told him. “What can you do against four of the most ruthless villains in all of Equestria?”
“Four to one.” Cozy Glow added meanly. “Those are not good odds.”
Chrysalis got in Thorax’s face. “Face it, traitor. You’re out powered and out numbered!”
“Maybe.” Thorax replied. “But, there’s something you ought to know.”
Thorax soon whistled. Just then, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Spike, Starlight Glimmer, Trixie Lulamoon, and Discord confronted the four fiends.
There’s more. Zecora, the Wonderbolts, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders appeared on the left. Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, and The Young Six appeared to the right.
Finally, behind the villains came Celestia, Luna, Cadence, Shining Armor, Megan, Danny, and Molly.
Tirek, Chrysalis, Sombra, and Cozy Glow realized that they were surrounded as Thorax joins Twilight.
“Well,” Thorax told the fiends, “looks like the numbers are on my side now.”
The four villains looked at their situation with wide eyes and their jaws dropped, knowing one thing. They’re on a one way trip to Tartarus.
