//------------------------------// // Cold Endings and Warm Beginnings:The beginning of the warm beginning // Story: Equestrian Shenanigans: What is that thing! // by Windsaw //------------------------------// (N/A: Sorry I missed a few days guys...Had to go accompany my grandmother when she had some surgery to remove some cancer, staying with family that doesn't really like talking to me for some reason ( may be financial class differences or my awkwardness that was described to be Fluttershy like here on good 'ol FIMFIC) and the power's acting up as well as my depression so again, I couldn't post. Kinda have a lot going on lately. I typed this up pretty late so if it seems off tell me >_> I've been pretty off since Thursday which makes my writing adequate on occasions) Also, if you do think it's not that good then I'll definitely revise what ever I need to) Chapter 3: The beginning of the warm beginning: Soon after that unwanted meeting at the party, I found myself walking home in the cold snow. I felt pretty good about telling her off finally. But I also felt miserable. Brandon caught up with me before I attempted to leave before the party ended. He tried to cheer me up by saying,” You could get a girl within a heartbeat”, even though he and I both knew that if I did my relationship would have the same bad ending. I felt a tear slowly glide down my right cheek as I thought about my future; relationship wise. “Is there any point?” “How many times has it been? 6, 7, maybe 8 times this has happened?” “I’ve always done the right thing and I’ve always given the person I love all the attention they’d liked. I’ve done the right amount of flirting compared to the rest of the horn dogs who somehow get more attention than I do.” “Could I ever be a lying, cheating, self-centered dick? PFFFFT! No…it’s not in my nature…” With all of my thoughts clouding all of my other senses, allowing myself to run on auto pilot across the street, I was almost hit by a car. The driver honked and I could hear some cursing from the distance. I yelled “sorry “as loud as I could and kept walking. Half way there, I decided to smoke again. I took in another breath and exhaled. I realized that my house was right around the corner as I took another breathe. I didn’t want to smoke inside so as soon as I hit the door I sat on the steps that led to my door. After a few minutes of thinking, a small kitten made its way over to my foot. Realizing this, I decided to lower my hand. It sniffed my index finger for a second, and then nuzzled it affectionately. I scratched its little furry head lightly. It then began purring and rubbed against my leg. But suddenly, a car flew by and to my avail, scared him or her, off. I sat there for a second; for some reason, my mind went blank. I stood up and returned to my fortress of solitude hoping I’d never need to go out into public again. Once inside, I rushed upstairs and flung myself onto my bed. I could only sigh and think until I finally drifted to sleep. After a few hours, I found myself in the part of the forest where that old abandoned building was. The only light allowing me to see anything in the surrounding area was the moon. I studied the building, noticing every broken and boarded window, every dent in the door frame, the broken lock, and the graffiti sprayed on the little office like building. “Must’ve been for forest rangers or something?” I thought as I began to walk towards the little office. It was strange though; these forests did have man-made trails but they were pretty hard to see with the grass and trees growing anywhere and everywhere at their own leisure. I felt a slight chill trace my spine and despite my bad feelings about this place I decided to walk towards it anyway. As I reached for the door a thought speed through my mind; “WHEN DID I WAKE UP?” Suddenly, the doorknob shattered like glass along with the rest of the door followed by the building. I backed away and all that was left was a bright light that just sat there in place of the building. I just stood there and gawked. I know my dreams can get pretty weird but this was new to me. I was the kind of guy who thought that when something was wrong, your dreams might contain subliminal messages that, if read right, could help you somehow. Although, believing in that, most of my dreams involve either something completely random or something or someone trying to hurt me. I don’t know why but I motioned towards the light. As soon as I was just about to touch the light, the ground itself shattered just like the door and at a faster pace. I soon found myself falling for a while which felt like hours until I found a magic balloon. *POP* I woke up with my jimmies slightly rustled. I sat up and put my glasses on then looked around the room only to find a few ponies, some sentries, and pants on the ground. I hoped out of bed and walked down the stairs and turned on the TV About an hour later, some mail gets shoved into my slot *insert "if you know what I mean".jpg*. "?" I got off the couch, walked around and picked up the mail, and sat back down to sort through it. I found a blank navy blue envelop; there was no return or to address or stamp. I opened it without thinking and began to read: Dear whomever is reading this, I've heard that you've been pretty down lately. You're feelings have been hurt quite greatly. Your mate has left you in a way most hayness. And because of that you do not consider yourself to be of greatness You do not believe in your heart anymore.
