//------------------------------// // Chapter 3 // Story: Godzilla: Domination // by Gojipower12 //------------------------------// Godzilla always enjoyed being in Fluttershy's company. Call it natural instinct or genuine enjoyment to be in one's presence, it didn't matter. Today was the perfect day to spend time with his mother figure. The sky was clear, the wind was gently blowing with a soothing elegance, the air smelled crisp and fresh. Best of all, there was nothing big or dangerous that would get in the way of this special moment. Godzilla strolled down the forest, dwindling the trees with his enormous size. To the woodland creatures far below the titan's view, he was a walking mountain. A colossus unaware of the tiny creatures sitting far below his feet that live out their lives on a daily basis. Fluttershy sat on the saurian's head, a wide grin on her face as she witnessed a flock of sparrows fly just above her head. The best part about sitting on top of Godzilla’s head was the mere fact Fluttershy was able to see everything from where she sat. The Evergreen forest couldn’t have looked more beautiful than it did now. A sparrow hovered in the air as it took a long gander at Godzilla, chirping with curiosity. Godzilla snorted a cloud of steam at the bird’s face, sending the little avian spiraling madly in mid-air. “Hey, that’s not nice, Godzilla.” Fluttershy softly scolded the reptile in a serious tone. The sparrow simply shrieked at the saurian before fluttering off. Godzilla just grumbled, feeling very little remorse for his actions towards the sparrow. He hated birds of all sizes mostly because he finds their chirping to be irritating. Godzilla lifted his snout in the air, catching a unfamiliar scent. He bared his sharp teeth as he let out a deep, guttural snarl. Catching the strange scent from the updraft of the wind, Godzilla went into a state of alert. Fluttershy almost immediately took notice of Godzilla's change in behavior, fluttering her wings and hovering down towards his snout. "Godzilla, what's the matter?" She asked, turning around to see where the saurian was gazing. Just a few inches away, Fluttershy spotted a large clawed footprint embedded in the muddy ground. Her eyes widening in surprise, Fluttershy anxiously floated next to Godzilla's head. It clear that Godzilla wasn't the only Kaiju roaming the Everfree. *** "Why did you really come to Equestria? What do you want from us?" Cobalt asked in a angry tone right before one of the Nebulan guards sharply poked him with his spear. "Professor Cobalt, I must be completely honest with you... We came to your planet because we were in desperate need of a new home. My people, the Nebulans, have been travelling the cosmos for almost ten thousand years after our planet was destroyed by a intergalactic Kaiju." Xerxes replied. Cobalt furrowed his brow in response to the answer. "If you wanted to simply find a new planet to colonize on, why didn't you land on a unpopulated planet then?" "Because it's more fun to kill the previous dominant species of a planet and take over their world. Plus, your planet seems to be the only planet in this solar system that nearly matches our home world's environment and conditions." "What?! Y-You mean to tell me that you plan to-" "Tut, tut, tut, professor. I haven't killed you or your pretty daughter yet, haven't I? I done some research on this mudball before arriving and turns out you are quite the scientist and technician. You're important and that means you can help me achieve my goal." Cobalt looked at Sugar before casting a angered look upon Xerxes' smug face. "I won't help you destroy ponykind, Xerxes." Cobalt stated firmly. "Is that so, professor?" Xerxes asked, motioning two other guards to seize Sugar. "AAAHH! DAD!!" Sugar screamed in surprise as the guards dragged her away. "SUGAR, NO!" Cobalt screamed. "Where are you taking my daughter?!" "She'll be safe so long as you agree to my terms. Help me with myBut, if you refuse.... well, it won’t be pretty for your pretty little daughter.” Cobalt growled under his breath, knowing there wasn’t any other option. “Fine.” “Excellent! Follow me!” Xerxes led Cobalt towards a large labratory decked out with several long tables and shelves filled with bottles, devices, and gadgets of all kinds. Sitting in the center of the room was a large and bulky triangle-shaped device with a silver cylinder-shaped nozzle poking out of the panel located on the roof of the machine. Solar panels dotted the upper half of the machine while radar dishes jutted out from the sides. In the center of the device sat a bioluminescent keyboard located inside a panel just below a wide-screen monitor. The device itself stood on five spider-like legs that seemed to curve backwards at the tips. "This little beauty is called the "Daybreaker." Don't mind the name, it doesn't actually break anything. This device was supposed to be able to create artificial power via absorbing the light from your sun. With the Daybreaker, we could provide your people enough energy to power your cities for centuries. Unfortunately, we lack a power source to activate it." Xerxes said, turning to Cobalt. "I ask you, as a friend, if you would please fix this problem for me. My top scientists are otherwise engaged in other matters at the moment." "If we finish this device for you, will you let me and my daughter go?" "I'll keep my end of the bargain if you'll keep yours." Cobalt scratched the back of his head before letting out a heavy sigh. He looked at Xerxes and hesitantly lifted his right hoof towards the Nebulan. "It's a deal." Cobalt said. Xerxes happily shook the unicorn's hoof, walking out of the room. "Happy day, happy day indeed! I'll leave you two to it, then. It would be so very rude of me to keep you distracted from your task. Ta-ta for now, my friends!" Xerxes said, closing the door behind him. A Nebulan soldier approached Xerxes with a illuminated spear in hoof. "Lord Xerxes, the fleet is ready for deployment. We will launch whenever you give the word." The soldier said in a gruff tone. Xerxes' face morphed into a sinister grin as he rubbed his forelimbs together. "Excellent. We'll give these fools a surprise they'll never forget..."
