Along their way to the high mountains, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Twilight ponied up and flew up the mountains while the others had to climb their way up. Luckily for them, it was the warm time in the mountains, so they didn't have to worry about trying to get some skins to keep warm. As they climed the mountains, they did bump into familiar animals like marmots, bharal, ibex, yaks, mouflon, and a trio of wolves. Later on, Rainbow Dash quickly came back to the group using her super speed.
"We found the source of the noise, it's a Snow Leopard!" said Rainbow Dash
"A Snow Leopard!?" responded Rarity
"Yeah, and it's been captured by some men, come on!" said Rainbow Dash
The group followed Rainbow to the spot where the others were, when they eventually did get there, they saw the men in their camp they set up. They had a male Snow Leopard in a big cage, now this animal was larger than a typical snow leopard one would find in the Himalayas.
"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"
"QUIET!!!!" shouted one of the men
"Trapped in a cage and yet still has some fight left in him." Said another poacher
"Yeah, it's amazing we even found this place, we'll surely get lots of money from his pelt." Said another man
"Poachers" said Twilight
"They must've found this place by accident, and we can't let them take that snow leopard." Said Sunset Shimmer
"We also can't let them tell any other poaches about this place, I mean, who knows how many animals would be killed if the others found out." Said Applejack
"Oh I know EXACTLY how to take care of that." Replied Banda who unsheathed his claws.
"You're not suggesting we kill them are you?" asked Kama
"Yes, I am, unless you have a better idea." Answered Banda
"Well yeah, we'll just beat them up, you girls get into your forms and trick those guys into thinking your some gods or something like that, and make them swear to never return to this place." Responded Kama
"That....actually isn't a bad idea." Said Tulu
"Alright, we'll give it a go." Said Banda
Before the poachers could get back into their tents, Rainbow Dash used her super speed to quickly fly over to them, and clobber one of them, Fluttershy, while she may be the least aggressive of them all, does get quite angry when you try to harm an animal, so it's no surprise that she gave one of the men two black eyes. Then the rest of them came out, making the poachers more nervous than ever.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"Who are you? WHO ARE YOU!?" asked one of the poachers
"We are the gods of this land, we do not approve of your activities here, set that animal free, and we shall not harm you anymore." Answered Kama
The man with the key did just that, and when the door opened, the snow leopard ran out of the cage and back into the mountains.
"Good, now leave this place, and never come back!" Commanded Kama
However, instead of leaving, the spear glowed, and the poachers were teleported to another place. The poachers looked around, and saw what they thought at first was the African Savanna, but they were wrong as before they knew it, they were surrounded by a pride of the first species of big cat the girls encountered, and you can imagine what happened soon after.
Back in the mountains, this event got the group wondering how that just happened.
"Since when could it do that!?" asked Tulu
However, before anyone else could also wonder about what happened, the spear teleported them to the mountain forests, now at this point, they decided not to even question the power of the spear. Soon, the gang got hungry, and it was time to go hunting again.
KOBAR SNOW LEOPARD
Height: 2 ft tall at the shoulders
Length: 5 ft long from nose to tail
Weight: Males are from 120-250 pounds while females are from 80-130 pounds
The main difference between Kobar snow leopards and normal snow leopards is that the Kobar snow leopard is larger due to Bergmanns Law, which states that animals in colder climates are bigger than animals in warmer climates. With this bigger size, they can bring down animals up to 4 times their own weight. Their diet includes yaks, wild sheep, wild goats, marmots, pikas, foxes, carrion, wild boar, and deer. They share their prey with wolves, but wolf packs in the Kobar mountains are small, with the biggest packs having only 3 members since they can't use the full strength of the pack in the high mountains, so the snow leopards are therefore, more confident in their ability to fight them, but only the males will tangle with wolf trios, females will only fight lone wolves. Snow leopards are perfectly adapted to cold weather, they have that thick fur which not only keeps them warm, but it also allows them to blend in with the background very well, you could literally walk right on past one and never even see it. Their long tails, which are as long as their body, are used as a rudder for balance, and also to wrap around the cat to keep even more warm when napping. They have enlarged nasal cavities to help them breathe in the thin mountain air in higher elevations. They're great jumpers, and Kobar snow leopards can jump even higher than their himalayan relatives, as they can leap up to 70 feet while chasing after prey. Kobar snow leopards have no natural predators, and they will actually travel long distances to find a mate, or to find prey. Their favorite prey is the bharal, a type of wild sheep that is also very well adapted to living in the high mountains. Snow leopards can actually fall from high up, and believe it or not, they can land on a hard surface without a single scratch on their body.
