EQG Waifu Special: The Pool Party

by Israel Yabuki

To a Brand New Life and Many More to Come

A few months have passed ever since the Mane 7 found their special someones. It was certainly a huge surprise to all of their parents when they found out the news. And out of every single one of the Mane 7, only one girl was feeling lucky to have more than just a boyfriend: Applejack. The girls were all extremely happy to hear about her pregnancy and couldn't wait for the day when she was gonna give birth. From what they heard, the doctor said she was gonna give birth to a healthy baby boy.

Pinkie and her boyfriend, Party Jumper, couldn't pass up this opportunity to want to throw a special party and invite all of their friends. The others thought it was a great idea and arranged a date for everyone to meet up over at Party Jumper's house where he had a pool set up in his backyard.

Right now, Pinkie and Party Jumper were setting up the tables and chairs in the backyard. Party Jumper had recently bought a barbeque grill with some of his hard-earned money. It costed a hell of a pretty penny, but it was a small price to pay for a tremendous occasion. Pinkie Pie then walked back inside the house and came back out with a few bags of chips and bottles of soda, setting them all on one of the tables.

"Everything sure looks pretty spiffy, huh Party?" she asked. He nodded and looked around the backyard.

"Yeah, I can hardly wait for everyone to show up. By the way, that's a cute bikini you got on," Party said, admiring Pinkie's bikini outfit. The cute party planner giggled and blushed a little bit from his compliment. She quickly hopped over to her boyfriend and hugged him.

"I knew you'd like it. I picked it out just for you," Pinkie replied before she kissed him on the cheek. "By the way, it was nice of you to invite everyone to your house."

"Getting a house like this with a backyard pool at a good price is very hard to come by. It's only fitting that I put this pool to good use for our friends when they arrive. So, how have your sisters and parents been doing, do you think they might show up at the party?" Party asked. Pinkie responded by shaking her head, but kept a small smile on her beautiful face.

"Nope, they're all going to visit Granny Pie for a few days, so the house is pretty much empty," Pinkie said. "That just gives me enough time to spend with you."

And before Party was able to get a word out, he and Pinkie heard the doorbell ringing. Pinkie automatically squealed with joy and ran inside. She approached the front door and opened it up. She puts on the biggest smile when her eyes landed on Twilight and Sunset. Standing next to Sunset and Twilight were Ulysses Hurtado, Sunset Shimmer's boyfriend and William, who was Twilight Sparkle's boyfriend. The guys brought along a big breeze cooler to store both refrigerated foods and some sodas.

"I sure hope we're not late for the party," Twilight said.

"TWILIGHT! SUNSET!" Pinkie shouted before giving her friends a big hug. "No, you weren't running late, you all got here just in time. Come in, come in! Party Jumper's out in the backyard, follow me." Pinkie brought the four party guests inside and guided them into the backyard. Party Jumper's attention was drew towards the first four guests his girlfriend brought in.

"Hey, you made it, guys. And here I thought I was gonna have to drag you guys out of your daily lives just to celebrate the special occasion," Party joked, getting a good laugh out of the other guys.

"Well excuse us, but how about you try caring a huge breeze cooler on foot by yourself all the way from my house to your house, Party," William retorted in a joking manner. Yet again, more laughs rang out. "Anyways, this place sure looks great. The pool's nice and clean, the sun's out shining brightly, we're gonna have a ton of fun today, isn't that right Ulysses?"

"Heh, you got that right," Ulysses said, wrapping his arms around Sunset. His girlfriend giggled and kissed him on the lips before walking over to Pinkie.

"So, Pinkie, what kind of snacks did you bring for the party?" she asked. But Pinkie shook her head and skipped on over to Party Jumper's side. Sunset and Twilight were confused.

"What, not gonna tell us, Pinkie?" Twilight asked.

"Nope! You'll just have to wait until the party starts, then you'll see what I've picked out," Pinkie said, putting on her cutest, innocent smile. As always, Pinkie demonstrates her ability to keep her surprises a secret like a pro and there's nothing her friends, or her boyfriend can do about it.

Another few minutes rolled by and the doorbell rang once again. "I got it," Sunset said, heading back inside. She walked over to the front door and opened it up. Right on schedule, Rainbow Dash and her boyfriend, Blazing Waters had arrived.

"Did someone call for the Awesome Duo?" Rainbow asked. Sunset laughed a little from Rainbow's boasting and could see that they had brought with them a karaoke machine for when the sky gets dark enough and everyone could sing their hearts out. "Good to see ya, Sunset! How are you?" she asked.

"I'm doing fine. It's great to see you two," Sunset opens her arms, welcoming in Rainbow and Blazing in for a group hug and guiding them into the backyard. "Hey everybody, look who showed up."

Everyone waved to Rainbow and Blazing Waters. The guys each exchanged a bro hug and a few fist bumps while the girls hugged Rainbow Dash. "You guys are gonna love what Dashie and I have planned for tonight when the time is right! So, how have you guys been?"

"We've been doing okay. We got here just a few short moments ago and now we're just waiting on the others to get here so we can set the party up," William said.

"They'll get here. We just gotta be patient. And you should know it's hard for the guest of honor to get here considering her current condition," Ulysses said. "From what we've heard, it's not easy for a man to look after his fiance when she's having these mood swings at random times. I'd feel sorry for him, but at the same time, I'm glad he's not losing sight of what it's like to one day be a father and a husband."

"Amen to that," Blazing said.

"Hey Blazing, how about you quit yapping with the boys and help me get this karaoke machine back in the house and help set it up? I want to get a head start for later on tonight," Rainbow called out.

"Coming, Dashie. 'Scuse me, please," Blazing said, running over to his lady.

By the time they finished, which took a solid 5 minutes, the doorbell rang again. This time, Twilight went inside the house to go and answer the door. When she did, she was greeted by Rarity and Fluttershy, along with their lovers, Frostbite, who happens to be Fluttershy's man and then there's this short boy with spikey green hair and sparkling emerald eyes, wearing a purple tank top with green trims. His shorts were brown and wore black flip-flops and his name was Spike, Rarity's man.

"Twilight! How lovely to see you!" Rarity said.

"Hi, Twilight. I do hope we're not too late for the party," Fluttershy said. Twilight welcomed the girls in for a group hug and then gave the guys a good handshake. Rarity and Fluttershy had in their hands these large bowls, each filled with different homemade dishes: One of them had potato salad and the other had about 4 whole boxes worh of maccaroni and cheese. The guys, on the other hand, brought along some beef patties, raw steak and some tasty chicken.

"You're actually here a little early. Everyone's out back waiting on you, come on in, I'll--" Twilight stops when she sees that oh-so familiar pickup truck pulling up on the curb. She gasped, smiling. "Everyone, get ready, the guests of honor are here!" Twilight called out loudly.

Right after giving her friends the heads-up, Pinkie raided the kitchen draws and pulled out the party poppers, moving as fast as her legs could carry her to give her friends each a popper. Everyone gathered in the backyard, including Twilight while Party Jumper waited patiently by the front door for the guest of honor to come out of the truck. Party watched as AJ's fiance, Solar Force, climbed out of the driver's seat and walked around the truck and opened up the passenger door.

Applejack, who was now 5 months pregnant, stepped out of the truck with some help from Solar. "Thanks, yer a big help there, hun," the country girl said before she closed the door.

"No problem, my sweet apple dumpling," Solar replied, gently pinching her cheeks. AJ giggled and followed her fiance up to Party's house where said host waited and greeted them. "So, Party, how goes everything, did the others make it in time?"

"Yup, just follow me," when the engaged couple walked in, Party Jumper closed and locked the door and escorted AJ and Solar to the backyard. One step outside and Party Jumper literally jumped to the side.

When AJ and Solar came out. Party poppers exploded, surprising Solar and AJ. "SURPRISE!!!" everyone shouted, putting a smile on eveyone's faces. The girls all greeted AJ with hugs and the guys all greeted Solar Force, fist-bumping and giving him bro hugs.

"We're so glad you finally made it," Fluttershy said.

"So, Applejack, how is the precious little darling holding up in there?" Rarity asked, getting all giddy.

"The lil' guy's doin' just fine," AJ replied, rubbing her belly.

"Have you two decided on what you're gonna call your son?" Spike asked.

"Well, not yet, but we do have a few names in mind," AJ said.

"Changing the subject, when and where's the wedding going to take place? I've already picked out the nice suit I'm planning on wearing," Frostbite said.

"The wedding's taking place a month from now at the farm," Solar said.

"Sweet!" Rainbow shouted, listening in on the conversation. "You can bet your asses I'll be there, but for now, what do you guys say we get the snacks out and LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!"

"Now you're talking!" Party Jumper said.

The time right now was 6:30 and the sun was still visible in the sky, slowly making its descent over the horizon and the music was booming. Everyone was in their swim outfits, some were swimming and playing beach ball volleyball, some were out of the pool, dancing their asses off and some were just sitting around, having some delicious barbequed grub. The music fueled both Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie to the point where they became the main stars in the comfort of Party Jumper's backyard. Both he and Blazing were enjoying the show their girlfriends were putting on for them.

"Woo! Shake it, baby!" Blazing encouraged, fueling his girl's ego.

"Anything for you, lover boy!" Dash said, dancing more extreme until she lost her balance and slipped into the pool with a cute yelp. The other got a good laugh at Rainbow Dash's clumsiness and continued to dance and play and have such a wonderful time. Sitting by the food table, Applejack and Solar Force ate quietly together, stuffing each other's face and making cute puffy-cheeked smiles at each other.

"What would Ah do without ya?" AJ asked after gulping down a bite of her food.

"Go crazy and munch on chocolate-covered pickles and ice cream?" he asked, jokingly. AJ roughly jabbed Solar on his arm, causing her fiance to wince. She smirked when she gave him that healthy dose of instant karma and took another bite of her food. "Ouch!" Solar chuckled, rubbing it.

"Don't y'all rub it, be a man," AJ replied with a wink.

"It looks like those two don't seem to be having trouble dealing with her mood swings," Twilight said, gazing at the engaged couple from inside the pool. The lavender bookworm then turned towards William. "Say, William, how long do you think Solar can last before Applejack has her baby?"

"Hard to say, but he doesn't look like he's far from cracking under the pressure," William said.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he lasted the whole 9 months," Sunset added. She was currently chilling at the corner of the pool on the steps with Ulysses, having some fruit punch.

"Who knows, babe. It just might happen. You know how Solar is," Ulysses replied.

"But you know, it still does bring up the one question: When they do have their baby, who's going have the honor of being the godparent?" Fluttershy asked.

"Well, we've got a lot of good friends to choose from and we could be here all night deciding who's gonna baptize the baby when the time comes. But if it were up to me to decide who should be the godfather, I'd vote for Rarity," Frostbite said.

"That's so sweet, darling. But why me out of all of us here?" Rarity asked. Even Applejack knew the easiest answer to why Rarity should have the honors to baptize her special unborn boy. Getting up from her chair, AJ walked over to Rarity, whom was standing by the snack table with her lover, Spike.

"Because, you an' Ah have been friends fer a long time now an' Ah think you'd be the perfect godmother. Wouldn't ya agree there, honey-buns?" AJ asked Solar, winking.

"That's a definite yes from me. You and Rarity do tend to hang out with each other more often than you do with the others, so I don't have any problems with it. So it's settled then: Rarity will be the godmother of our son," Solar said, making Rarity blush and smile all flattered.

"Congratulations, Rare-bear," Spike said, rubbing his fashionista lover's cheek.

"Spikey-darling, please, you're going to make me blush more," Rarity said, her face already changing to a rose red color, making her boyfriend chuckle. Some time during the party, the music suddenly stopped and the whole gang saw that Rainbow Dash and Blazing Waters stopped it.

"Hey, why'd you kill the beat?" Party Jumper asked?

"I was thinking maybe we should all drink a toast before we move onto some karaoke fun. Can't kick off the party without a little funtime with singing our favorite songs and dancing to the beat!" Rainbow said.

"Dancing? You sure that's a good idea? You do remember what happened earlier when and Pinkie shook your fluffy clouds together and you ended up slipping into the pool, right?" Party Jumper asked.

The others erupted into a group laugh, making Rainbow roll her eyes like she doesn't care. "Ha-ha, laugh it up while you can everybody, but just you wait when I blow the roof off this place when I show you all how well my singing has improved for these past few months!" she boasted with a cocky grin.

"You're on, Dashie," Ulysses said.

"Hey now, only I can call her Dashie," Blazing chuckled, never losing his smile. "But yeah, what do you guys say we drink a toast before we start singing?"

"Sure, sounds like a plan," Sunset said, along with everyone else.

Everyone who was out in the pool, got out and walked over to the snack table, pouring themselves a cup of either some fruit punch, soda, water, or Applejack's specially homemade apple cider. The group all lifted their glasses up and waited as one of them made their speech.

"Pinkie, Party, you hosted this so how about you guys do the honors?" Rainbow asked.

"Loyal to the end, I see," Party said. "Alright. Your attention everyone. First of all, I would like to thank you all for coming to my place and celebrating Solar and Applejack's engagement. We all wish for the best in your new life together and pray that your child grows up to be a respectable young man."

"And we hope to spend some time with him, possibly even babysit him if we ever get the chance. And let's also toast on our newlyfound friendship and hope it gets bigger overtime!" Pinkie added.

"CHEERS!" the gang said in unison. Clinking their cups together, they soon took big gulps from their cups, drinking their beverages and then exchanging a big group hug with AJ and Solar Force. Applejack felt like the luckiest girl in her whole life and soon broke out into tears, clinging onto her friends and her fiance. Solar, being the kind man he was, pulled his lover into a warm embrace.

Everyone else just watched, not minding the tender moment they were having, until... "Come on, you guys, let's give them some time alone," William said.

The group all moved inside the house where Rainbow and Blazing had set up the karaoke machine, but didn't start without Solar and AJ. It wouldn't be right to start without the guests of honor.

"That was very sweet, William," Twilight said before kissing him on the cheek.

"Yeah, way to go there. Nothing like a private tender moment to let them unleash those happy tears. But are mood swings always like this when a woman's pregnant?" Frostbite asked.

"From what my mum has experienced when she was still pregnant with Sweetie Belle, sometimes a lady can be a whole lot more hostile," Rarity added.

"And she also mentioned that a pregnant woman is a lot more dangerous than a ticking time bomb. And it's a good thing that Applejack isn't alone, because otherwise, having a single pregnant mom would be a real hassle, now changing the subject, what songs do you have on the karaoke machine?" Spike asked.

Rainbow was about to reply, but then her eyes catch the sight of Applejack and Solar Force walking in. With that, Rainbow smirked and looked back at her friends. "Oh, you'll find out soon enough. So, who wants to have the honors of going first?" Rainbow asked.

Right away, Applejack's hand raised up high and her confident smirk lit up even brighter than even Rainbow Dash's and she was ready to take this karaoke night and blow the roof off of this place. "Here's an idea, how about we show these here boys why even though we've disbanded, we're still The Rainbooms at heart?" Applejack asked, smirking at her man.

"Ladies first," Solar said.

"Oh hell yeah! Even better! Come on girls!" Rainbow encouraged. The guys all sat on the couch while Rainbow selected the song that even Sunset loves to this day.

The guys' minds were blown straight off their heads and cheered the girls for their magnificent performance and received a group bow from them.

Once their song was over, the girls didn't even bother asking how good they were. They merely just gave the guys their opportunity to sing their song for them. When they all stood up and took the stage, the guys whispered to each other what group song they could sing. It took at least a few minutes before they all agreed to one particular song and soon took off in front of their girlfriends/fiance. By the time they started singing, the girls' expressions lit up in surprise and joy.

After the guys were finished with their song, the girls jumped up with glee like a bunch of fangirls. They all went up to their lovers and hugged them tightly, except for Applejack for obvious reasons.

"Okay, I cannot contain it any longer: BEST! PARTY! EVER!!!!!" Pinkie shouted cheerfully. She even caught Party Jumper off guard by slamming her lips onto his. In fact, all the girls laid their lips on their lovers, half of them smooched hard, the other half smooched softly. After their tender moments had finally ended, the gang all brought the food inside and resumed the party by eating a little more and doing a couple of their own karaoke sessions and enjoying the party of a lifetime.
