//------------------------------// // I Choose you! Twilight // Story: I choose you: Twilight // by Sonic Rainboom Dash //------------------------------// “You think you can destroy the Elements of Harmony, just like that?!” a purple unicorn said to her opponent; a dark-blue coated alicorn; Nightmare Moon. Her eyes were teal slits like a cat, while her teeth were sharp and jagged like a dragon’s, and around her hooves were the broken remains of the elements of harmony “Well, you’re wrong, because the spirits of the elements of harmony are right here!” The purple unicorn shouted as five other ponies rushed up to her. There were two pegasai’, two earth ponies, and another unicorn like the first. Around Nightmare Moon’s hooves, the shards of the elements of harmony started to float off the ground. “What?!” Nightmare Moon said as she saw this. “Applejack,” the unicorn said point to the orange earth pony, ”who reassured me when I was in doubt, represents the spirit of; Honesty!” the orange mare named Applejack gave a proud pose as some shards floated over to her. “Fluttershy,” she then pointed to a timid yellow pegasus, “who tamed a manticore with her compassion, represents the spirit of; Kindness!” she said as Fluttershy timidly backed away from the shards now floating around her hovering form. “Pinkie Pie,” The unicorn continued, this time pointing to an energetic pink earth pony bouncing around, “who banished fear by giggling in the face of danger, represents the spirit of; Laughter!” Pinkie bounced while sporting a massive grin as some shards floated around her. “Rarity,” the unicorn then pointed to the white unicorn, who had an air of grace around her, “who calmed a sorrowful serpent with a meaningful gift, represents the spirit of; Generosity!” Rarity blushed from the declaration as more shard swirled around her. “And Rainbow Dash,” she then pointed to a boisterous blue pegasus with a rainbow mane and tail, “who could not abandon her friends for her own heart’s desire, represents the spirit of; Loyalty!” Rainbow Dash did a small loop as the last of the shard floated around her. “The spirits of these five ponies got us through every challenge you threw at us!” the purple unicorn said. “You still don’t have the sixth element. The spark didn’t work” Nightmare moon exclaimed. “Oh but it did. A different kind of spark,” she started before turning to the five ponies around her, not noticing the gleam in nightmare moon’s eye. “I felt it the very moment when I realized I was so happy to hear you, to see you; how much I cared about you. The spark ignited inside of me when I realized you all,” she said before turning back to Nightmare moon in a triumphant manner, “are my friends!” Suddenly a bright light appeared in the air, forming a stone with the same symbol as her cutie mark, ”you see Nightmare moon, when those elements are ignited by the, uh, the spark inside us all, it creates the sixth element, Magic!” it was slowly lowering as it changed into a tiara with her cutie mark on it. The shards floating around her friends also changed into necklaces, each one bearing their respective wearer’s cutie marks as well. They floated over together and fired a beam of rainbow light that crashed over Nightmare moon. “NOOOO! I won’t GO DOWN ALONE!” She shouted firing a weak beam that struck twilight just as the nightmare was burned away from the mare underneath. Princess Luna herself. As the flash cleared all the ponies came to. “Ugh, my head.” Rainbow Dash said as she came to. “Everypony ok?” Applejack said, starting a silent headcount. Hearing a multitude of “yea” and” fine darling”, Applejack let out a sigh of relief, that was short lived when she failed to hear one voice in the crowd. Looking around she noticed somepony was missing. “Twilight?” looking around, confirmed that Twilight was not in the room, and for some reason, felt that she wasn’t on Equis anymore. “Twilight!” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A certain young kid that everyone knows and loved with raven black hair and lightning bolt symbols on his cheeks, woke up just as a local dodrio cawed off into the air. The kid’s name was Ash Ketchum, a boy with the dream of becoming a pokemon master. It took him a moment to realize where he was and when he did, the importance of the day hit him. This was the day he was to become a pokemon trainer and receive his first pokemon at Professor Oak’s laboratory. The sun in the sky was already far overhead looking like it was nearing about 11:00 in the morning. That’s when the poor boy realized that he was late to the most important event of his young life. The poor kid bolted out of his bed after looking down at his broken Pokeball alarm clock and stating in panic, “Oh no! What time is it?” With that, Ash bolted out of bed and ran right out of his house past his mother who was just coming to get him up. He shouted, “Sorry mom but I’m so late.” he hadn’t even realized that he was in nothing but his PJs. Ash ran right down the road towards Professor Oak’s lab in his green PJs with a yellow stripe down the front and a pair of sneakers on his feet. He yelled, “Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander! I don’t care which one it is, just save one for me!” But by the time that he got there, a huge crowd had already formed at the base of the hill where the lab was. At this moment there was a small group of cheerleaders in front of the crowd in blue and white uniforms. They waved their pompoms as they cheered, “Gary, Gary, He’s our man if he can’t do it no one can!” Their voices high and obnoxious as they shouted the chant. It was as Ash ran towards the crowd that he tripped and fell on the ground in his haste to arrive at his destination. This is what caused him to stop and notice that off to the side of the road a girl in a purple skirt and blouse was lying unconscious along the side of the road. All thoughts of getting to Oak’s lab and getting his pokemon left his head as the concern of seeing an unconscious person lying alongside the road overcame everything. He got up and ran over to where the girl was lying on the ground. “Hey! Are you ok?!” he said, shaking the girl, hoping for her to wake up. “Ugh, My head. That’s the last time I use a magic artifact that I don’t know about properly again,” she said as slowly sat up. At that moment, she took stock of where she was and quickly figured something was off. “What the?! Where am I?” Ash scratched his head as the girl suddenly came awake. She had long beautiful hair with a purple stripe running through it. And her clothes seemed to have some kind of starburst mark on them. Her purple eyes looked up at him and they entranced him for a moment. A few people from the crowd had noticed and were coming closer. Ash spoke to her in a concerned voice, “Um hey! Are you okay? You were lying unconscious along the side of the road here.” Grabbing the boys hand, the girl pulled herself to her feet, though ash for the brief moment their hands were connected, he thought he could feel a strange power flowing through her, though it faded when they separated. “Ugh. Yea. I’m fine. Where am I?” she said, as she patted herself down, unaware of the strange motions she was doing instinctually. Ash frowned because he thought that everybody in this area knew where they were, even the travelers. He replied in a friendly tone, “Oh you’re in Pallet Town. I was just on my way to see the Professor and get my first pokemon.” that’s when he remembered what he’d forgotten and he clutched his head, “Oh no! I forgot that I need to get my pokemon from the professor. And I’m already late.” He turned back to the crowd as he said, “You should come with me. That way you can get some help.” Just before ash could take off, he heard the girl say something that he never thought he would hear anyone say. “What’s a… pokemon?” Ash stopped dead in his tracks again even as the people from the crowd turned back as they saw the girl was ok. He turned back to her with a shocked and dismayed look on his face, “You don’t know what a pokemon is? You must have hit your head hard enough to have amnesia. You don’t remember what they are?” “No. I haven’t even heard of them before. What are they?” she said as she picked up the bag by her side. Looking in the bag, she finds her element of magic, though its appearance changed to that of a bracelet with a circular orb in it with her cutie mark on it. Ash stared at her dumbfounded for a moment and then replied in an excited tone, “Pokemon are amazing creatures. There are all kinds of cool pokemon that you see everywhere. It’s my dream to be a pokemon master. I’m not that great at explaining it but I’m sure the Professor could tell you no problem. You should come with me to meet him,” he said, “oh by the way. My name’s ash. Ash Ketchum. What’s yours?” The girl was about to say her name when she stopped. Looking over these creatures, and suddenly realizing that she herself looked just like these creatures, and freaking out internally at the fact that she was so calm about it, decided that the name Twilight Sparkle would just be weird, she chose to instead say. “M-my name is Sparkle,” she said before following this Ash creature on a new journey, in the hopes of getting home.
