//------------------------------// // Chapter the Family (Part 1) // Story: Family Disclosure Protocol // by TerribleSpeller //------------------------------// As Twilight trotted down the streets of Canterlot, she was assaulted by memories of the past, of times she went out with her brother to the library, and going out with her parents to the library, and going out with Spike to...the...library. Twilight continued on her way chuckling of her thinking about her past self would always buried her muzzle in the thickest books she could find. She was in Canterlot after throughly explaining to her friends about her job in the world's, no the Multiverse's most biggest, and most secretive organization, the Foundation. Her friends were certainly shocked when she didn't bat an eye when she shot the imposter Starlight, because no way in Tartarus would Starlight tolerate being called 'Star', after that she left everything to Campbell to explain to them about their new found status as Level-0 Personnel. They were surprisingly ok with it, Applejack and Rainbow were actually interested in the Foundation, while the rest were contend with knowing of the Foundation. And after that, Pinkie made sure to make everyone Pinkie Promise to keep this a secret or they'll lose Twilight and their new friend Campbell's trust f- FORRRRRRRRREEEEEVVVVVEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! Pinkie! Get out of my narration! Okie Dokey Lokei! Now anyways, after successfully FD90-Ing her friends, Twilight moved on to FD90 her family. She had invited them to have a 'get-together' in the family home, smack dab in Canterlot, just a block away from the Royal Palace. Due to its close proximity to the palace, Twilight's parents were pretty much ok with her living in the Palace due to the amount of death threats, marriage offers, and monetary offers they were getting from the more snobbish nobles of Canterlot. As Twilight turned the corner to her childhood home. It was a modest room for a noble house in the central of Canterlot. It had two floors, with an observatory designed especially for the house on top. The house was painted in blue and purple in sharp contrast to the white and...white of most noble's houses. The house had a small lawn surrounding it with a fence, built after Twilight's Ascension into Protegehood, to protect the home from prying eyes. And in the back was a small garden where her mom would plant vegetables to use for her cooking. As Twilight neared the house, she could smell the distinct signature of her mother's cooking, knowing full well that this was a sign that lunch time was near. Unlike most nobles, Twilight's parents weren't businessponies nor descendants of some ancient duke or duchess, their family was a line of start ups. Her great great great great great great grandfather was a major astronomer who invented the concept of light years, her great great great grandaunt was the most influential writers of her time. The heritage of astronomy and writing was passed down until eventually her parents met which resulted in Canterlot's Royal Guard's most youngest captain and the Bearer of Magic and the Princess of Friendship. Despite her family's fame, they didn't want a massive home, all they wanted was a home where they could easily conduct their work. And most of their wealth either ended up in the banks (under several different aliases of course) or the hooves of charities. Twilight stood in front of her family home's door, the home was the place of major astronomical studies and the place where some of the best novels of history were written, including the famous "The Untouched Rose". Now, this was the place where was going to reveal to her family, of the job that she does in the dark and what she does to protect them. Including all of the questionable ones. Fuck. She should have asked for changeling ethics committee liasion. ---SCP--- Shining Armor was worried. Even though his wife was happy, he couldn't help but feel nervous. Twilight had called for a 'get-together' in their family home in Canterlot in the middle of an important investigation. Princess Celestia had sent out a confidental order out to him and several other former captains and sceed current captains of the Royal Guard and the Equestrian Military. They were tasked with investigating into several supposed deaths of several prominent sorcerers and researchers, and they were tasked to keep it a secret. And what they found was shocking. After analysising several of the corpses the group found out that the bodies weren't the actual bodies of the sorcerers, implying that somepony placed fakes in their place. The investigators then quickly decided to overturn their houses looking for any evidence or anything that could vaguely tell them why there were fake bodies and where the ponies went. And they found it. When searching the prominent scientist Lividia Flower, an officer pushed a desk out of the room to see if there any secret passages under the floor, he found none, but he did found a peice of paper, a contract. The contract detailed of a job description as "a research secretary and if you are deemed skilled enough, you could be promoted to project secretary,". At first the group assumed it was a business contract, but some things quickly dismissed the claim. There were several parts in the cotract where the author emphasized the importance of secrecy and that "any sort of leak of information which were created directly or indirectly by you will result in disciplinary action, and depending on severity, termination and the cancellation of your contract,". Other than that, the investigators concluded that this organization was finically, militarily, powerful and influential, in the contract it states "if you suffer any injuries, the Foundation will pay for any medical bills, and if you are terminated by either a loose anomaly or GOIs, your family will be compensated for your death," and it also states "if you decide to run and leak information about the Foundation, the Foundation will have no worry chasing you until we find you and don't think your government will help you, we can get you no matter where you are,". Fortunately for them, the investigators found out the organization's name, the SCP Foundation, as the organization's name was mentioned several times on the contract. The hunt was now focused on finding any traces on "The Foundation" in any government record. They didnt manage to find any, but when they were about to lose hope, they found one. It detailed a deal between Princess Twilight and the Foundation for several plots of land throughout Equestria and the Crystal Empire in exchange for a generous sum of bits. That shocked Shining to his core. He didn't knew that Twilight had been making deals, or that she was already having talks with organizations. Especially this organization. Shortly after finding out this information, Hard Hitter, a former naval admiral, went to check out a island of the coast of Fillydelphia. He got close, but when he did, he found a disguise spell which had been hiding a massive facility on the island, immediately, alarms went off and Hard Hitter quickly sped off on his boat out of there. After returning to the others and telling about the island, he went home. The next day he was found dead in a river. Police investigators say that the death was caused by Hard Hitter slipping and falling off the bridge. As it was raining that night. Soon, Wonderbolt Captain Spitfire told the rest of the investigators that she saw several other Pegasi trailing her the same night all the way to her home. And within the next week, all of them reported several stalkers. Shining saw a couple of earth ponies trailing him the other day when he was leaving the barracks from a party. He couldn't see their coats, but he knew that they knew that he knew about them. Shining told the rest to stay with one another each day just in case this "Foundation" struck when they were alone. And then Twilight called for a family get-together. The timing was too perfect, first Hard Hitter dies, then he was being stalked, and then Twilight asks to have a family get together? Twilight knew of this. She must have. Shining was planning on asking Twilight about the deal, well now he had two questions to ask, and hopefully not, in front of the entire family. "We're here Shiny!" Cadence was right, they were here, and the smell of Mum's cooking along with the sound of laughter indicated that it was lunch time, and from the sound of another pony other than mum and dad meant one thing. Twilight was already here. Here goes nothing, I guess
